What’s up guys is the Skyforce 95 here with the review of High Sierras loop backpack, the one I have here is a navy blue with lime green accents. So let’s just go ahead and get right into it. So I’ve been using this backpack for a good two years, starting my senior year of high school in this lots of me through my freshman year of college, thus far and I have not have any problems with any rips or anything like that. So I think this is a very solid backpack for you to pick up so just to show you that kind of material to use.

It’s very light in a house. This exonic hex on ago with design pattern here, which allows for very strong material, you’re still very light on the bottom. It’s slightly different about canvas material, so it makes more sense. This is for rugged material. So that when you was sitting a backpack down on the ground you dragging around it won’t rip or anything like that, you can see there has been no problems with that whatsoever.

Material is not marketed as waterproof, but I’m not saying that it is, but I have to say that it’s pretty water with this thing for the most part as long as you’re, not super downpour or anything any light rain. It’s pretty good, so see here, starting out I guess with the straps you’re on the bomb. It allows you to basically compress your backpack.

It’s not that pull to make it a closer to your back kind of feel, and this also has a much other compression straps on the side in this one, I like to hook it up to here this metal loop here, which is actually meant to hold additional bags. Maybe you have a gym: I didn’t bag with you. You want to tie some shoes to it. You can put it through this loop if I use it to hold the adjustable straps for the back, because I bike, and so these sometimes gets in the way so I just hook it up here, number I did notice, while I was using, it actually never really used it to carry.

Anything else was place the straps, but that this actually comes off pretty easily like this, it seems like I, require a good amount of force to get this off, but it really isn’t, if you think about, if something that you’re attached to this or any kind of heavy and that snags on something you can really easily pull this thing off. So I personally wouldn’t use this to carry too heavy other thing.

Maybe just carry some sandals or you know some some gym clothes, something really you’d like nothing too heavy. So don’t overuse this movies, what I’m saying and then do with the sides first, so here on the side, it has two mesh pockets for carrying the water bottle or other accessories I like to carry one water bottle in the left. Pockets facing this way- and then here the front pocket here is a stash pocket- opens up this much, but it has a loop here for attaching your keys key fob and has a wider cuff here and then in the middle.

It’s another pouch here with several slots here and carry pens and in front of that is another stash pocket. This one has actually quite a few pockets here in front of that one there’s another mass compartment for putting whatever other, where you need, and next to that on, the left is any velcro. So in the throat here is also very spacious.

If you put plenty of other things there and I organized in these organized spots. Here: okay, so that’s the very front pocket and then a mini pocket between the middle compartment. It’s just a basic special compartment here, it’s not very big, but it will hold certain stuff I like to carry my bike lights in here and then the middle one was no organization here this pocket here.

No organization is just a big compartment for middle sized accessories, and these two, the middle one in the largest compartment, both have double zippers. So that’s very convenient. So here’s the main compartment, it’s pretty big I’ve, been able to hold well I, don’t really use binders anymore, but I would say you could hold up to 2/3 inch ring binders I usually carry some textbooks, my laptop, which it finds my 13-inch MacBook Pro, as well as several of notebooks and yeah.

It’s basically I keep in the main compartment. The camera alright. So here up here is conveniences. You know: has a little opening twos meant to go yeah peace replay over the phone, so you can put that here, top I guess a little bit different than most backpacks is that the handle is actually off the main body of the backpack, which was a little bit of a problem for when I was using it.

My neck would be here, and I will leave a little bit of a gap for the bag to hang kind of off, and that would mean the pressure from the weight of the bag would be a little bit more towards the front of my shoulder.

So instead of like right on top so depending on how you’d like to wear your backpack, there might not be a problem for you, but it was a little bit of annoyance for me, but it wasn’t that big of a deal here on the scraps. It has something called a suspension, strap system. So as you get heavier loads, this thing allows us to kind of buoy the weight of it.

So it does a few that heavy and actually does work. In my experience, it’s pretty good, so it has it on both sides and then here so much crap straps, it’s pretty much it, but because it has such crap exposed here you can also do some clip-on stuff here you know. Maybe you can put your sunglasses through this loop here and stuff like that temporarily anyway, so yeah and then on the right side.

You have another mesh compartment here. I guess originally is meant for cell phones, but your cell phones. These things are so much bigger than most I think will fit in this, but I like to keep my own pepper spray in here for quick access emergencies and yeah, that’s pretty much it see on the back. It has a even amount of padding. It is kind of sectional, so it is flexible.

It’s not just one hard piece of cardboard or something like that. It has a little bit of foam padding mean it’s always good, so that pretty much sums up this backpack there’s one thing I did notice is that when I’m putting a vase a lot of stuff in this from Portland when I’m putting stuff in the bigger cooler, if I’m not if this doesn’t come on top, it will kind of bulge things to the back and it’ll.

Be this strange over here. It won’t be flat so that it’s kind of uncomfortable, so I have to make sure that this compartments always sitting on top of whatever stuff and carry me here. So there’s just something to keep in mind: it’s not a really a con, but it’s just the way the bag is designed. So now pretty much doing it. For me, for this review, I really like this backpack as strong.

It’s really light. That’s what I like to look at the backpack I, don’t want to carry more than I, really have to, and has plenty of compartments for all your accessories I like how its organized has so many options that you can do. I, like that, has dual mesh pockets for carrying things outside of the bag that you want to grab right away and the strap design is good, I, just don’t particularly like that handle position, but other than that.

This is a great backpack. As you notice, there is no bathtub compartment for us. However, that’s not really a huge deal since I like to carry my laptop in. Let’s leave anyway, there’s not much padding on the bottom, so you got to be a little careful, so you don’t want to throw your backpack that, obviously you have a laptop in it, that’s something to keep in mind, but it’s not marketed as a laptop backpack, so I’m not going to deduct because of that, but that’s just something to let you guys know about so yeah.

Hey there Amazon today, I’m going to first and foremost these hip pouch pockets. I love these hip pouch pockets, I have much more expensive backpacks and they don’t Hallie’s, always have them. It’s frustrating anyway. Let’s take this off and we’ll dive right. In now note I am a medium built. Someone on the heavy side, sometimes 511 and I, am a medium on the Gregory and also the Osprey. Now this is a little bit on the smaller size and with the right amount of adjustment you can get by you know, being my size, I would recommend it for a bit shorter.

It’s a rip, stop and I poke that I product, it’s the job done top, has a brain at the top part, because you can see I can open it from the inside.

It’s a great quality material and great zippers, easy to adjust for your size. Straps seem to be well done and pretty long enough track, poles can fit. The bladder is a nice touch.

Sleeping bag. Compartment is a little small, but you can access your stuff through it. We hammock camp, so I can put that in the sleeping bag. Part strap sleeping bag on the bottom of pack. Buckles seem well enough. The two pockets on back are bigger than I thought. The water bottle. Pockets aren’t well thought out, but you can use it for other things like rope, etc.

It’s definitely a great product for the price it’ll work for a weekend trip may be able to stretch it out four days. If you pack light I’d, love to have 80 liters to go along with this one, you can use the compression straps on the side to carry more stuff. Waist pockets aren’t big enough for a cell phone, but good for snacks and whatnots.

That’s a great feeling pack on your back, definitely recommend this to family or anyone and not feel like him, screwing them over with a bad recommendation. Nice bag, no flaws known of comfortable and affordable. Only issue I have is I’m a 34 men’s pant size and the belt strap is as tight as it can be any less and it would be loose.

It worked fantastic for my backpacking trip. Tie strapped worked. Fine did not rip, thank goodness compared to sleeper brands. So far the backpack appears sturdy, but I am not sure that it has the capacity for 50, plus 10, liters or essentially 60 liters. It should have been twice the size of my ems 30 liters backpack, but is barely a slight bit bigger.

I am tempted to return it, but don’t want to go through the headache. I will test to see how much of my gear I can fit very sturdy and spacious perfect for camping. I love this bag had everything I want and then some I’m a little worried about the material holding up long term and will update about that, but it seems like a pretty good knockoff of the name brand bags.

I ordered this pack after realizing that I couldn’t fit all my gear. In my current pack, the day before a backpacking trip the one day, delivery was a godsend. The pack feels like a good value for the money. I returned from my trip with no rips or broken zippers, despite the pack being filled to the brim. This isn’t a 300 gregory bag, but it seems to be a great option at the entry level or for somebody who isn’t totally committed to going on a bunch of long trips pros, buckles and straps everywhere.

It was very easy to attach my tent sleeping pad and other gear to the pack. The looping on the front of the pack was helpful in attaching miscellaneous items. The lower slash sleeping bag compartment is a bit small. However, there is a zipper divider inside, so even if you have a larger bag, you shouldn’t have an issue getting it into the bottom: decent sized pockets on the hip, pads for often accessed items, maybe a bit small for some smartphones.

However tight webbing on the side of the pack, I didn’t have a water bottle. I used a bladder, but the webbing was tight enough for me to store a cell phone knife and some other small items. The pack has three pockets on the front, which is nice. This is the loco backpack 50 liter 45, plus 5 liter backpack, that I used on my blood Mountain loop, so I featured it a little bit.

You can see pictures of it in the video or in the videos. So what I’m going to do is we’re gonna break this down and kind of go into it and I’ll tell you some things that I like and dislike about this pack so stay tuned alright, so we will start with the straps for the price point of this pack, I was not expecting very much on padding for the straps, but I was very much impressed. These straps have have really good padding. They’ve got the built-in whistle on the sternum, strap and good padding on the back.

That’s a 4. What I’ve experienced before in packs I’ve not spent a lot of money for packs, but I’ve tried a lot of lower end ones, and this one I really like the ribbing right here and the breathability behind it. So that was good. The hip belt has a pocket on either side good amount of space in that pocket. If you can see it, I’ll show you what haven’t even taken the stuff out of this side. This was from my trip when I went, I had my headlamp and the waterproof housing for my acaso in the hip belt, and it held great I mean I.

Had plenty of room so I liked that this was actually my first pack with a hip belt, so I was new to the pockets and what all I could fit in there so but I liked it. This part was was really nice when it came to the adjustability and kind of taking the weight off his shoulders. I’m still trying to learn all the adjustment points, but but, like I said, this was something new to me, but I really enjoyed it. The straps were good. Like I said you also had the adjustment points up here and on the right shoulder, strap, you have a spot for your water bladder hose so hydration bladder, alright, so we’ll flip around on the bottom.

This pack actually comes with a rain cover built in in its own pocket, so it comes with with it. You don’t have to buy it separate and it has its home designated pocket down at the very bottom of the pack. You’ve got to tie out points on this now that can be used to anything from trekking poles to using it as a tie out point to lash something to your package. So you’ve got the compartment we’ll get into the compartments in a minute. Oh, it’s got a vertical pocket on the front now for me, I’ve never understood the vertical pockets because I just don’t get it.

This pocket has I mean it’s all the way up here at the very top and it goes down there. It’s not real wide. It’s about that wide to me. That’s what it kept that was about the easiest thing to go in it flat, didn’t take that much space and there you go, but it’s got that on the front on the side, you’ve got the mesh expandable pockets, water bottle pockets. You got one on both sides. Now you’ve also got the for your tension and tightening down compression you’ve got a strap on the bottom here on both sides.

We’ve got one on the side on both sides and you’ve also got the buckles on both sides to hold the lid down. Then you have another compression strap up top, so all in all, you’ve got two four six, eight compression straps just on the body of the bag that you can compress your gear down. So all right- and then too, with your if you use this for your these bottom straps, if you use them for your trekking poles, you’ve also got these slide. Lock, elastics up top there’s two one on each side that you can use to place your trekking poles in and tighten it down, so they won’t fall out.

I didn’t even use these this time, Oh see on the top the brain of the bag you have on the exterior you’ve also got to slide nylon straps with buckles. Now I didn’t even use this actually I did use. This I put my tent stakes for my tarp in here, but other than that I, don’t know what else you would use it for if it wouldn’t have been for my tent stakes, I would have just taken these straps off and just going without I have a pocket on the outer side. Now this pocket is all the way down to here.

It is all that, so, if you can tell I, don’t know if I can get, it turned right, but every bit of this from here to here and all the way down to there is this exterior pocket. Now you also have an interior pocket and this interior pocket is almost as big I’m, not a fan of the brain pockets and that’s just a personal choice of mine, because what I’ve tended to do in the past is overload them put too much stuff and when you put little stuff adds up- and you say: hey I’ve got space you put more stuff.

So for me, I’m, not a fan of these I tried to very much limit myself on that blood. Mountain trip limit myself as to what went in here and I did fairly well I. Think I. We had one two things in here on the exterior side: I didn’t even put anything on the interior side so but yeah keep that in mind. That’s just a personal choice of mine, but just keep that in mind all right so now into the pack. You’ve got the drawstring closure all right, so the pack itself you do have a you- do have a pocket for a hydration bladder now I think there were some reviews on Amazon.

That said, it did not have one everything I read said it had. One in mine has one so the inside of the pack now, unlike some packs, that I’ve had before with the bottom separated divider down here. This does not connect. If you put something in here, you cannot access it from up here and vice versa. This is all stitched all right. So now you can kind of wad that up and not use it and use this whole inner side. But if you won’t use this, then it’s not going to connect to that now. I did notice something when I was doing.

My blood Mountain trip I put something small in the main body of this, and it actually worked its way down and got down under where I had my poncho liner and tarp I had all stored in here so once it got down under that it took me a minute to find it because I couldn’t find it. It was down under day so just keep that in mind, but overall I use this this pack. For, for that seven, eight mile loop of Blood Mountain, it worked out very well all right, guys, I use this pack like I, said four: seven, eight mile loop overnight Blood Mountain and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was, it was probably it’s not the lightest pack that I have, but it it held up. It appears to be a very durable pack. There’s there’s can there’s a mixture of a kind of canvas and ripstop. So it’s it’s a fairly lightweight I haven’t weighed it yet I’ll, try to weigh it and put it in the description but but yeah. Overall, it’s a really good pack for the money. Highly recommended check it out. I’ll, put links into the description for the pack I’ll put cards up top for my blood mountain trip, so you can kind of check it out and see how it rides on on me fully loaded I, don’t have all my gear with me to load it down, but it’s it’s a little bit low and don’t sit like way up here.

It’s it’s really low I mean it’s a 50 liter pack, it’s not a hundred liters, not huge, but for the for the money for the price point. It is well worth it for me mostly what I do are weekend hikes, so it’s perfect I can fit everything. I need, including water. What I was able to get in this pack for an overnight didn’t really know what I was expecting weather-wise, so I planned for the worst went in with a 21 pound pack I’ll fit in this in this pack, so it worked out really well I enjoyed it thoroughly enjoyed it.

This pack I will be using it in the future. Some more so, if anything happens, I’ll put updates. If anything happens with it, where the durability isn’t it’s great, then I’ll definitely do an update. Today, I’m going to be reviewing the you like to see more information on this, go to Maxpedition comm I’m, going to start out by giving you a 360 view of the pack this week, I’m in the Smoky Mountains doing a lot of hiking, and this is one of two packs I brought with me. This is the second day I’ve used this pack. Let me tell you, makes a great day pack for that matter. I think it’d make a great one or two day pack.

So let’s take a closer look at some of the details of the pack as well as some of the contents I have in it. Ok, looking at the pack in more detail, this is just like all the other Maxpedition products is made from a lightweight ballistic nylon material coated with the triple coat of polyurethane and Teflon fabric protectors, so you’re going to get some excellent water resistance, as well as abrasion resistance with this pack.

This has the lower pocket, as well as an upper pocket, we’ll start out by looking I guess at this lower pocket. I’ll take this strap loose here now before I get to that. Looking at the smaller pocket. You see it has a lot of male attachments, POW webbings to it. I have on this, attach this Maxpedition tearaway map case, as well as the GPS holder and I use it for a compass case, we’ll review that on another video unzipping.

This try to give you a another shot in here, so you can see it a little better, but this has a lot of little pockets in it. Key keeper here I have a grease pencil and it’s pin another space for another fence or what what not insect repellent as well as some eye drops in the back sleeve I, have bandana and a lot more room. You could choose to use that for something else. I do have some snacks left over from morning’s hikes.

Has the nice up, you know paracord pool with YKK zipper upper pocket. Just a nice deep pocket here, I have it’s going to be Milan monocular other one is going to be my headlamp, and this has two main compartments in it. One zip this person and what’s nice about this, also, is it expands and contracts as you need it to, and this one’s pretty big roomy pocket in this mesh pocket. Here you can see that I have some hand sanitizer, there’s another little pocket here in the back of that there’s a large pocket which I just have a chemical light sticking in and the bottom I have some 550 paracord and a lot of room for other things.

So there has a little bit larger compartment here, trying to give you a shot inside that opens up really wide I have my rat three knife in it: love that knife, my emergency, shelter, poncho and a head that was in this mesh sleeve right here, knee brace for how to lock it a lot of rocky terrain. My max position, fr1 pouch, is my first-aid survival kit. In the back of it, it has a zippered mesh pocket, which you add, I have toilet paper mosquito netting, and you still have plenty of room to put other things that you need it to do that in the back end of it, you do have room for hydration unit, which I have a hundred ouncer in there, and the very top of that it has this opening here to where you can run your hydration hose out back onto your strap and it conceals back and nice carrying handle on the top.

The bottom two drainage, grommets there you can see the rubber bottom is padded lets has some straps on it, so you could actually put your shelter, tarp whatnot. You can see this piece right here at the start of the video was in here. It’s my emergency, blanket little shelter that I carry with me all the time. Let’s look at the sides. We have a lot of attachment points here, so you can attach I.

Have my Maxpedition shoes with my wave Leatherman tool in it, and one of the bands I have just my hat attached to it. The top attachment point has a loop on it, so I have my dump pouch on yet the other side. I have my max position. Gps holder a little further down one of the side release buckles I just have the you’d a bear spray. Seen a lot of bears this week and I may include them on some.

Hey everybody welcome back to another episode, thanks for tuning in I apologize about the long break between my videos. Things have been pretty hectic, but I figured I’d. Take some time off today come out here and give you guys a new review today. I want to review a ditch bag. The ditch bag is a bag that worst case scenario. You have to leave your vehicle behind, it’s a bag that you keep in your trunk or in the back of your SUV or even in the back of your truck, and if you break down get stuck just for whatever reason you have to leave your vehicle behind, it’s a big that you can grab and get to the nearest phone or civilization to call for help or get yourself home.

Ok. So here in the back of my Jeep, I’ve got most of stuff. I need to do a self recovery or fix any minor mechanical problems. Like I said, the ditch bag is a last resort. You have to leave your vehicle if you can’t fix it or get on stuck and what I’ve got is max traditions, Falcon to backpack. Again, I read off their website: Maxpedition calm, as you can see, I got it in the orange and foliage color reason: I got the bright orange as if I’m walking down the road trying to find help and the car comes by we’re going to be able to see me pretty easily.

They come up from behind now. This particular backpack has 1520 cubic inches of storage space. That’s done through five different pockets and we’ll go through those in a little bit, but on the exterior here you can see it’s got plenty of power or Molly webbing. You can add additional pouches. They see on this side, I’ve added my expeditions: mini Rolly, Foley folding, dump pouch.

This is an additional 100 cubic inches of storage and it will fit a Nalgene wide mouth water bottle and that’s what I use that for that way, I can carry my water bottle with me when I’m looking for help. But again it’s made of the lightweight ballistic nylon, everything’s, double stitched, reinforced you’ve got your heavy duty. Ykk zippers, with the paracord pull tabs.

You’ve got your wide compression, strap on the front and I each side. There’s two compression straps with quick-release fast X buckles, to get them off easily up top. You have a heavy-duty carrying handle, you need to carry the bag, and underneath that you have a velcro flap, which covers your drink, tube or antenna hole that comes from the inside of the pack.

If you run a drink tube, you can run it around the front and down either side of your shoulder, straps, which are contoured and padded for comfort. You’ve also got a sternum strap to aid in keeping the weight off your shoulders and also a two inch waist strap also to help keep some of the weight off your shoulders and ease the load while you’re walking the back of the pack is padded.

It’s pretty comfortable. It’s got a couple drain, grommets down here at the bottom of something leaks or gets wet inside of your pack, and the bottom is a heavy-duty rubberized material. That way, if you set it down on wet ground, the insides of your pack aren’t going to get soaking wet. They undo your white compression, strap. You’ve got two front: pockets got your smaller one and one us a little bit larger.

This small one I keep things that I want to be able to get to pretty quickly. Of course, if it’s dark I’ve got my Petzel headlamp and I’ve got a regular flashlight. This is a surefire g2 I’ve got my Columbia River knife and tool m16 pocket knife. Again, that’s blazing orange. If I drop it on the ground, it’s nice and easy for me to find it and I carry a couple.

Clif bars this one’s ice gingerbread, it’s pretty good! These help, you know, give you protein and a little bit of energy. You know you’re going to be walking to find some help. You don’t know how far you might have to go, and on top of that I’ve got this cliff shot. It’s kind of a gel liquid. Again it shift another high energy supplement for you down in the lower pocket down here.

I carry a little bit more, but the first thing I have is my Maxpedition individual first-aid pouch. That is basically just a first-aid kit. You’ve got a front pocket here. It’s a see-through mesh I, keep an emergency space blanket in that pocket, but you’ve got your YKK zipper. You want to open it up and you’ve got two sides: one’s a see-through mesh and one’s a see-through, clear plastic.

On this side. I just keep my basic fur face stuff. It’s got different bandages band-aids, some stingy’s different antiseptic wipes aspirin tylenol stuff. Like that, then, on the other side, it’s got a double zipper that you want to do. I’ve got an ace bandage. Some blood stop coagulant and a regular filled pressure dressing from the military.

That’s the individual, first-aid pouch for Maxpedition you’ve got Molly straps on the back. If you want to attach it to the outside of the pack using some tact eyes. Other things that I carry in here I’ve got just to love them in super tool. It’s your basic love them in with the pliers. It’s got the knife the saw and, of course your screwdrivers and I’ve got the water purification straw.

Again you just put it together, dip it in your water drinking source and suck through it. Just like you would a straw, I might be out in the woods a little bit longer than expected. So of course, I carry a waterproof match case with strike anywhere matches inside and if I run out of matches, I always have my trusty fire steel in there help keep me warm for this pocket.

As you saw me, pull things out, it’s got some smaller interior pockets and it’s got a key strap here with a little quick-release buckle. Obviously you’re leaving your vehicle, so you could snap them in there make sure you’ve got your keys with you when you return with a tow truck or a buddy. Now you’ve got your middle pocket, which of course is double zipper again for easy access, and here I keep a blazing range.

Under, Armor beanie, again I got the orange, so cars can see me as they’re driving up, but it might be cold out. So I want to keep a good warm hat in there. Another thing I carry is this poncho? Now you never know when you might run into a sudden, thunderstorm or rainstorm, it’s OD green. On one side, it’s reflective on the other that way I can set up a lean-to.

You know start my fire with those matches reflect the heat back onto me until the thunderstorm passes. The only other thing I carry in here is 100 feet of paracord and some bungee cords, and that’s going to help me set up my lean-to now. This metal pouch also has two smaller see-through mesh pouches and a little bit larger flat panel pouch and behind there and I carry four hand warmers inside that smaller pouch.

That way, maybe I want to sit under my lean-to I can warm up my hands, maybe throw some in my socks keep my feet. Warm! That’s the middle pouch there now the main pouch again, it’s double zippered! You can unfold this all the way and open it up. What I keep in here I keep my shemagh in here again. I can wrap this over my head or around my neck act as a scarf.

Keep me warm while I’m walking for help and I keep. One of my expeditions, cuboids in here and all this is carrying is some additional food stuff and it’s basic MRE pieces. I’ve got some cheese. I’ve got the crackers some of their more high-protein stuff cause. He helped keep my energy up while I’m out looking for help. You got a small zippered mesh pocket up here and I.

Just keep a good pair of gloves up top that way again. I can just keep my hands one and then on the flap side of the main pocket is another mesh. See-Through pocket and I just keep a spare pair of socks in there. That way, if it is raining, my feet get wet. I can change into some dry socks then along the back. Here is your water bladder pouch and it’s actually zipped only on the side, those parts partially up and across the top, and you open that up and you’ve got again velcro in there for your CCW accessories put a 100 ounce.

Water bladder will fit in here, and you can see the hole for the drink tube up there. Ok, so I got my water bottle and stick it right here and say my mini Rolly pulley fits nice and snug got the pack on got the waist, strap nice and tight get the sternum strap on everything feels pretty good. The ditch bag only weighs probably 10 pounds, so I should walk quite a ways before I get too tired got my Jeep locked we’re ready to go, find some help till next time.

Rock has a great amount of MOLLE webbing on it. I really appreciate it for that, however, the MOLLE is basically what you see here. It’s on the front and a little bit down here on the sides where I have an external water bottle mount, and this organizer by Maxpedition, maybe I’ll, review that in another video, but this bag just wasn’t serving the needs and I had I needed some more modular storage, and this material is not waterproof.

Being kind of an offhand company such as Red Rock is I. Just got it at my local army navy surplus store so decided to upgrade to the Maxpedition due to the fact that it has this modular storage. The fabric is a Teflon material, which is water, resistant, stain resistance. Few things I wanted to get into we’re, looking at.

What’s a really great product due to the MOLLE webbing, that’s on it. The MOLLE, as you see here, has we’ve got three or essentially six inches of MOLLE space down here on this bottom pouch, two straps strips up here up top we’ve got MOLLE down the side, as you can see quite a bit, we’re looking at what I guess if MOLLE is inch by inch, you’re looking at a potential of 9 to 10 inches of Molly here and something I just saw as I was looking over.

This bag is there’s even some inverted or vertical. However, you want to say it mounted. Molle straps webbing right here on the side that runs down across the bottom, can’t quite see it because of all these other compression straps going on in here, but a really good source of MOLLE storage. Now the Condor pack and the Voodoo I was looking at both of these did extensive I, guess, research.

If you can call searching YouTube for videos, research and just found that the Condor pack was insufficient when it came to the MOLLE webbing on the front, we had two, if you want to call the overall inches four inches of MOLLE down here on the Condor two inches up here with one strap of webbing and two straps of webbing and then on the side of the Condor I.

Think we had three strips of MOLLE webbing on the side. The Voodoo I think is pretty decked out on this lower pouch, however, only has one strap up top same story as a condor 3 MOLLE strips down the side and I just I wanted more possibilities. So I wanted to have a pack that I could put larger items on. You know with more webbing space.

I needed more real estate, essentially, and so that’s why I overall went with the Maxpedition so moving forward, Maxpedition, there’s a lot of compression straps going on here. As you can see, we’ve got this one over the top. We’ve got two clips on either side of the bag, but what I like about this? This front-facing strap definitely provides a lot of compression on the gut of the bag right here in the front on these two modular pouches.

It’s also capable of condensing the bag kind of flat. If that’s something you’re going for compressing it vertically. However, the straps on the side are going to you know, pull in on these primary and secondary pockets. They’re gonna help since those tighter wear on your modular pockets. Here on the front, this front-facing strap is going to provide that compression there.

So on the bottom here, we’ve got these straps something I liked about Maxpedition versus the Condor and Voodoo tactical bags is that these ones are just longer and- and that’s pretty much it because you know it’s nice, that they’re longer you can fit a sleeping bag. You know I’ve got a zero Degree bag, that’ll fit in here, just fine, if you’re a sleeping pad or a blanket, you can roll them up and you’ve got you’ve got so much a great diameter of space in there to compress things down and I really like that about this bag.

So moving forward into the compartments, I don’t want to spend too much time on this. You can get any video that will walk you through, like what guys are putting in their packs. I just got this one haven’t figured out my arrangement yet, however, in this first modular pop pouch, you’ve got what looks like some pen dividers for storage cell phone whatnots papers, whatever you’re gonna do to put in here.

That’s the first compartment there. Second modular storage up top is essentially it’s just a pocket. Just a zippered pouch sunglasses phone food, snacks, Clif bars. Whatever you got, you can stick in there, so secondary pouch pocket as I’m gonna call it on. This runs the full length of the bag, those dimensions you can grab off the Maxpedition website.

I, don’t have them offhand here, but uh see if we can get some light down in there, so you’re looking at yeah I’m, not I’m, not getting you guys anything all right am I I can speak English I promise. We’ve got two meshed pouches here, one solid pouch, otherwise, a nice deep area store whatever you want in there. The primary pouch opens all the way up, which is a super nice feature for laying things out.

I saw a guy who turned this bag once I get more into the YouTube world, I’ll be able to shoot names at U of and the individual reviewed this, but he used his bag as a weapon carry bag for taking to the range, and he liked how it laid out, because you can just set everything without getting in the dirt or dirty I am I, am an Apple user, love it or hate it.

However, you want, but this bag will fit. My 15-inch MacBook Pro no problems slides right down in there zipper up taking on its way, however, I don’t like carrying my computer I like to keep it at home and just work off of computers in the location that I’m at I am a student. So I have resources there on campus, where I attend school I’m very much I like to travel light, so those are some of the main features.

Another cool thing inside of this bladder pouch in the back. The probably can’t see him but right here below my fingers running down through the pack are two velcro straps and you can get some there’s an attachment. I saw a guy who’s stuck in there and he mounted his concealed weapon, his pistol down in there behind his bladder, and you know, I guess if you want to conceal it I, don’t think I would ever use it for that purpose.

Just that’s. That’s a lot to go through to get to your concealed weapon. However, it is a it is an option. Lastly, I want to show you a really cool feature if you’re, one of those guys is kind of in an urban area, if you’re working you just into the tactical lifestyle which I have to say, I’m kind of addicted, if you’re working in an urban environment where you’re constantly riding on public transportation, buses, trams, underground metro stations, whatever it be see, if I can get this zipped, we got a strap down and that’s why it’s not sitting there we go.

This backpack has a really unique feature. Oh I should say unique, but rather a really neat feature. There’s this little piece of strip a strap right here with a button and what you can do is you can take by the way these are the zippers have paracord on them. You can just slide those zippers right onto that strap. The ones from the secondary pouches will slide right up over it, and then you just feed it down in here and clip it down.

Your zippers are kept in a closed and locked position, making it more difficult for anyone who’s trying to steal off of you. You know it’s just a nice safety feature anyways, that’s the Falcon 2 by Maxpedition. Hope you liked it. If you have any questions or comments, leave them below appreciate it.

Looking at the Maxpedition Falcon 2 now this is actually one of their older packs that I, don’t believe, is still in production that actually came up with the Falcon 3 recently now, even though this product is no longer production, you’re still going to see a lot of them on the market and still for sale readily available and hey may even get lucky. You might find one on clearance sale now, I’ve had this bag for probably about two and a half years now, taking it hiking camping, you name, it I’ve done a lot with this bag and it looks branded now.

Part of that is due to the fact that is just built like an absolute tank. Also one thing about the material is they actually have a very unique coating on there? So I’m not sure what specifically about it actually works so well, but it is a form of a polyurethane coating that actually makes it very water and moisture resistant. So anytime, you spill something on there.

I could take it out in the rain. All that moistures beads up falls right off like a freshly waxed car. Now that’s part of the reason that it looks so clean like it honestly hasn’t, never been absolutely used whatsoever. But with that said, this thing has seen a lot of use a lot of time in the woods and I’m still amazed how it looks so good. After all that now I will say: I’m it’s fairly tall guy, a little over six feet and one of the biggest issues I’ve had with this pack is the location and design of the belt strap.

So, instead of hitting at the top of your hips like a lot of these packs, do this one actually hits above your waistline and it works great for keeping the back stable and it’s not going to bounce around on you much, but it doesn’t do much to keep the weight on your hips as opposed on your shoulders, but fortunately it’s a fairly small bag that fits between your shoulder blades, so you’re not going to be carrying a ton of weight missed in the first place, generally speaking, the size and design pack I like for using up to around 20 to 25 pounds.

So you don’t really need a very durable waist belt at that point, once you get up around 30 35 pounds, that’s where you really want to start having something with an internal frame, something that has a good, solid, waist belt, and it’s going to destroy that wait, a little better for a bag of this size. You don’t really need much of that now, starting on the outside one thing: you’re going to see is a couple things or two things: you’ll see is some things I’ve added.

First, we have the Maxima dishing bottle opener, which is actually pretty cheap online and they actually work really good. So if you do want to have something easy way to open up a bottle up, it actually works really well and it’s knucks right into the pals webbing on the outside of the pack. I mounted it on the upper outer pouch here, but you can literally mode that anywhere on a pack or on a em vest things like that anywhere.

You have pals webbing. Additionally, I mounted a knife up on the side here, I’m my area: it’s not a big deal to have a knife visible. Most people don’t really care if I see something, especially if you’re hiking around the woods, but not all of that. It’s it matches very well. This is a k-bar Becker, BK 17, so just to show you the knife, real quick I’ll do a review on this guy later on, but that always stays in the side of the pack here and keeps nice and out of the way, the other change that I have made.

In fact, you’re not going to notice is inside the hydration range. So on the back here, if you open this up, there’s a squad to hold up to a hundred ounce, water, plier and personally I’m, not a big fan of using water bladders when I hike, I personally would rather have a canal gene bottle of our Klean Kanteen things like that. So I never really use this pouch.

Now it does have some velcro inside there, so you can actually use it to have a concealed carry holster in there, but again I’m, not a big fan of off body carry. So it’s not really useable to me and one thing I found when I pack up a pack is I, don’t really like to have to deal with making sure my stuff’s aligned straight and make sure that nothing’s jabbed me in the back, so what I was actually able to do was I made a bit of a M almost like an internal frame for this pack? Now? What this actually is? It’s a piece of poly our PVC and I actually cut this out of a road case for a fast fold, projector screen.

Now this is something I doubt many people have access to. But honestly, any thick piece of malleable plastic will actually work very well for this. This particular piece is fairly heavy-duty and thick about 1/8 of an inch deep and it doesn’t really weigh more than a couple ounces. So personally, I thought this is a great material to use, cut it to fit ground.

The sides down make sure there’s no sharp edges on the corners and then just slip that inside the back of the pack. Now what that does is it does two things for you make sure you don’t catch the side of the pals webbing? Now it’s not only going to give you a nice flat back, but if anything is sharp poking through the back of the back, it’s not going to jab into you.

It’s gonna make things a little more comfortable if you don’t pack it the most cautiously, to say the least, but also it’s going to serve as a little bit of an internal frame to help keep things a little more rigid and a little more comfortable over a longer period of time. Now that’s something that I personally added but I, don’t think it’s something that most people will ever need to do.

The reason being is: it adds a little bit of extra uniqueness to this pack. It makes it my own, but it’s something that you can definitely do without and if you’re, not the type of person that wants to modify the gear like I am you can definitely do without it’s not going to be a big deal and not have that I’ve carried this many times with it. Didn’t have that and carried it many times.

I did I like it a little better when it does have the internal frame added that I made for, but, frankly, I have no complaints about it when it doesn’t. Now, if you look down bottom here, you do have these two straps. A lot of people would think that these are gonna be great to throw like a sleeping bag or sleep system in there, but that’s about as big as they get so yeah.

You can get two full size hands in there, but it’s not quite big enough of a area to hold a full-size sling bag. Now, that’s not a big deal in my book because a pack, this small, isn’t really geared towards an overnight bag um. Now, a lot of guys will disagree with me on that, and this could be a two or three day back to them. But for me, it’s more of a I’m going on five six hours.

Hiking and I want to have a little bit of food water in here with me. If I’m going for an overnight I’m gonna have a much larger pack and have a lot much more gear and having a bag, that’s going to have a little more weight carrying capacity, but you can definitely push this bag a little further than I do and use it as a ones to night bag without an issue. But what I have seen a lot of guys use this for is actually to mount to a second max edition pack.

Ah now, as I mentioned before, the waist belt does not really land on your waist. It lands more of the middle of your stock. Now it’s been a big complaint from a lot of guys, especially those that are taller like myself. What I’ve seen many people do and I think it saw this first on our blade forms is they’ll. Take the Proteas, aversive pack and put it right below here, so we’ll actually run this webbing through the Proteus and use the Proteus waist belt as their waist belt for the Falcon two and that’s going to work great, because it’s not only give you a little extra capacity for storage, but it’s also going to take a lot more that weight from the shoulder straps and put it onto your hips now for me I’ve, yet to do that because once I’m stepping up into that extra capacity I’m using a go for a slightly larger pack flow.

What’s cool about that- and this is actually something that’s really cool but Maxpedition, is they listen to their customers now, once you’ve done that modification or that addition to this pack, you get something that’s very similar to a fairly new product from Maxpedition the GAR falcon. Now, basically, what the new girl falcon is is it looks like a falcon 2 with a Proteus versa pack mounted to the bottom.

Now they didn’t also add a internal frame to it. They added a plastic back frame fluid and it basically makes the new pack into what everyone tried to modify the falcon 2 into and that’s one thing: I’ve found very cool well max editions. They do listen to their customers, they pay attention to forms, they pay attention to YouTube videos and because of that they’re making their products what their customers actually want.

So a lot of respect, it was max efficient for that reason alone. Now, to give you an idea of what can actually fit into bag to size, I’m going to just go through some of the crap I have in here just to show you how much really fits in here now on the outside this something that’s kind of neat- that not many other bags have. Is this piece right here now what this does is it allows you to lock your zippers shut.

Yeah I did a little bit of um, potentially open air, but I can’t open it. That far and that’s great if you’re gonna be use this in the city, a lot because say you’re on the subway, someone wants to steal the out of your bag, then not gonna. Be able to do it very discreetly. That can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you want to look at. But let’s take a look inside and get going here so on the sides.

You do have two buckles on both sides. Once you open those up, you actually can open the zipper, the entire length of the bag on the first main pouch. Now that’s going to allow you have a lot of space. You can get to full size, water bottles, I like using either a clean canteen or a Nalgene bottle with a cook pot on the bottom, because with that you have a way to store water, but you also a way to cook a little bit um freeze-dried food in there now this is actually something I’ve done that I found it a lot of good use.

For is, this is one of those miniature I think it’s a couple of a 4-ounce now gene bottle, but it’s actually containing a powdered milk substitute I forget what branding these just coffee-mate or something like that, because if you’re like me, you can’t go without coffee very long and frankly, I like having a little bit of milk in my coffee now to make sure you have that to go with it.

You want to make sure you do have some coffee bags, which I believe Folgers and a couple other brands actually make these little bags that actually look like a tea bag, but they’re coffee- and these are awesome if you’re out on the trail you’re out in the woods, is boil a little bit of water toss, one of those in there and then you have some coffee, and that is actually what I like to use the inside pouch on here.

For it’s a little zippered mesh pouch, it’s great for storing coffee and also I got some of the loves in there as well. Just keep them out of the way, keeping it organized on the bottom of the pack. Here we got another mesh pouch, which I personally don’t have much use for actually take that back again. Another coffee, peg and I think you can see a theme here also have a sweatshirt, some extra clothes, the bottom and just keep things nice and packed.

So you have most of the weight with the water up at the top near your shoulders and more the lightweight padding at the bottom being the clothes. Now it’s going to work great to help, distribute the weight, keep things comfortable for a long period of time. Another great thing about the Maxpedition packs is: they are running YKK, zippers, they’re, very durable.

They are going to retain water very well and they’re, not going to break very easily I’m, going to go ahead and toss this crap back in here and then start moving into it run pouch. So now that we’ve seen the main pouch, we can take a look into the front pouches. Now this one is going to be a lot smaller and as you’ll notice on the side, it does not open the entire length of the bag.

Now this is going to be stuff you’re, going to use a little less often, you actually get one of those mylar tarps in here bunch of um. The protein shakes toilet paper, because who, in the right mind, goes in towards that with some and then just some random crap of toss in here, some pro power bars and this something cool I picked up a lot got a gun show a while back.

It’s a Sol, Scout kit, so you actually have a Mylar blanket mini fishing kit, fire sparker, some quick tinder, a compass, duct tape. You need a whistle back there as well, just a great little setup inside a miniature dry bag. So you got a decent little survival kit in there and does it take how much space and it’s fairly cheap. Then, as we move to the front of the bag, we have two smaller pouches that are going to be great for stuff.

You want to have quick access to from the outside. Now this one is going to be a lot of things: I use along trails like PRL, great washing hands and fire-starting. We have some smaller stuff. You get a lighter, you get some one of the old film canisters filled with Vaseline and cotton, which is my personal preferred firestarter. Then you get some smaller stuff.

You got a light. My fire Ferro rod, which is cool, because this one actually has a whistle built in as well, and then you have some generic small stuff tossed in there as well. That’s gonna be great for stuff. You want to have quick access to and you don’t want to have just barrier in the bottom of pack somewhere then. Finally, we have the fronts bottom out, exterior punch, I, don’t really keep much in this one, but I do keep a decent size first-aid kit.

Now, within this I, do it I did add some things like quick clawed. I do like to have a tourniquet in there as well, and then just some generic first-aid stuff, also tossed a frontier or water filter. In here this one is just one of those cheapo like $15 triple-a kits from Amazon, but if you add a little bit to it, a little extra money into it. Action is a nice case and keep things fairly compact.

I guess I’m really sorry for the mess here. I’m. Just you know doing some chores around home house, Wars and I have put all my gear and my desk and here so it’s a bit messy and the reason why I’m making this video it’s indoors is because I was gonna, get out with what I want to show you and then I got called by a heavy rain and I’d not want to have my camera under that heavy rain.

So you’ll have to follow me indoors for for this time, I just wanted to talk to you about backpack I’m testing right now, which is the Falcon tube in khaki foliage made by Maxpedition. Now I’m just gonna. Try to show you all the features of that pack, but first I want to answer a question of one of my freshly subscribed friend who asked me if you can carry this backpack pretty low low, and this is this question is because he wants to use the backpack as a school backpack and and an outdoor backpack, so I’m just gonna try to carry it below to see.

Well, yes, it’s pretty much like carrying a nice pack. Pretty low I do not I would not want to carry my backpack that way, because, most of the time I use, I will use my khaki foliage PO to use power for my OD. I have plenty of them, so this means I wanna. Have my pack riding up on my back. Well, honestly, it’s it’s rican portable. That way you can carry without any problem a bit lower like so this is the lowest I’m 180 meters high approximately.

So this is the maximum the length I can get from that pack here. So you see how this rise on my back. I don’t see exactly if you have a full picture of me or not, but this is for the idea now. I’m, just gonna, move the camera round here and show you the features of that backpack beginning by the front side here. So let’s move bad, oh okay! You we are! Does that sit down. Hope you have enough light in here.

Excuse me about all the mess. So first thing here you have the front side of the backpack with the slings I. Don’t remember how we called that part that you have reinforcements around here out of quarter, ah I, think or DuPont nylon really tap really well stitch. It stitched and you can of course set excuse me the retention here as on most of other outdoor backpack. If you want to have it with more tension or also good feature, you don’t have that on a lot of backpacks, like tactical backpacks, you have a d-ring here loops so that you can put your the straw of your bladder around here or or so.

You have also net stick bound round right here, so that allows you to to add some gear or I. Think in my opinions for the water tube, you can also add some pouches or clip some stuff on that part. You have Cordura webbing loop on this part here and you have a sternum strap the inside of the straps. Oh yeah I think it’s the straps is out of mash and something that looks pretty breathable.

And finally, you have those nice slings to set the length, and they are, they are stitches in that way here. So I think it’s pretty pretty great, because you don’t have that backhoe digging in your hips when you walk, you also have on that pack. Okay, it’s the same on the other, strap shoulder strap. You also have waist distribution strap, which is a great technique to have a lot of load and want to distribute it.

You can remove it pretty easily in my opinion here, if you don’t like to have that kind of straps on your backpack, the sternum, strap elastic band is really really stiff, so maybe I would like a less stiffer term. Sternum strap. But let’s say that’s a pretty good thing for having a good retention while keeping some elasticity to your moose. Now, still on that side, you have the the opening for the water bladder and on the inside I hope you can see here.

You have velcro for male velcro and on the inside I think it’s the same. It’s kind of fleece, or you know textured textured piece that will probably keep your water colder and also allow you to, in my opinion, put some I will try that ASAP Oh. Indeed, on that moment, this is my battle bag from the back hook and take that gun, strap and try to see. If, okay, you can’t, you can’t stick something here with a gun or like so on the inside.

Well, of course, here this is the place where you should put your back in the moment here you have the rehydration hole for the tubing and the top opening with a retention loop for tubing. In my opinion or I, don’t know maybe what this could be used for, but here you have that kind of small loop hope you see that and it’s shipped with velcro tabs as well. Now, let’s go to the side, oh wait for a second okay, sorry about that that was the girlfriend coming home.

So, on the side, you have a lot of MOLLE webbing and two retention straps here the thing I really like with that is that you can add gear on the outside of the pack, water, bottles or stuff, like that, a pair of skis, if you, if you are skiing or stuff like that, but also having those traps here, allow you to hold your stuff inside if, for some reason the YKK zipper pulls zippers were to break.

So this is an excellent thing. You have also kind of daisy chain or some kind of moly in the other sound. This is the same on both sides here, as you can see, I have put one of my easel knives here now talking about the pockets. I’m gonna be orwell the underside before here you have also that kind of moly in that sense, which allows you to put other pouches in another. You know direction or tighten stuff.

I, don’t know, do what you want with that. You have a protection from abrasion and water. On this part, the biggest part you have also to potentially straps on the side which allows you to put your jacket, camping, bag, sleeping bag or stuff. Like that, on the front side, you have small buckets with a kind of organizer for your pencil or accessory small accessories plenty of room here.

Sorry plenty of room here for another tap out for other smaller items, figure pouch, which is middle out here without any buckets. That’s those two here’s one compartment and two smaller here, one out of webbing recording netting like that, the main movement which opens all the way around. So you have a full access to what’s inside your backpack good here, other side yeah another large now within net wedding netting, buckets here.

So this on the front side, you have a MOLLE webbing on the top part on this part too, with velcro pads here, if you want to add patches and stuff like that, and all the way up to the top, you have another tensioning strap which allows you to keep your pack closed. If, if something in the zippers wire to break or I, don’t know if you want to add an IV I used to put my jackets in here, but another thing that is pretty cool about that backpack- is that it’s you don’t have anything inside.

You can have a backpack with a pretty low profile like so just mentioning just mentioning those straps on both sides here like so then just know here again add some tension and pattern. Part of that pack, like so, can also finally add some tension on top part of the fact that only know you have can see. This backpack now has a really low profile compared to what it was just 10 seconds before so now, I’m in de oh one thing, I don’t mean know is what’s Det honestly, I, don’t know it’s no or fitting that this way like so or for attaching something else.

This is mystery for me for now so well, I’m, just in the testing part of that backpack, so I’m gonna keep testing it try to see how it works, how it rides on my back for more long-term survival, outdoor survival, instructions and stuff, like that, and then I get back to you telling what are my father impressions but for now I think it’s it’s a pretty well design pack well I’ve, always been a huge fan of Maxpedition gear and I’m.

Actually thinking about buying another one in the in the future. Well, when I have the money for that, but I think it’s a very well designed pack very sturdy and just in my opinion, the kind of size that that is perfect, not as huge as the upside for, but still being able to get a lot of items and well you have to to carry what you pack so I, don’t like to pack a little less when I’m going outdoors well, excepting for the camera gear, which is pretty cameras on you know it takes a lot of space, but for only survival matters, it’s it’s or hiking or stuff like that.

It’s a pretty good size. Now it doesn’t have any back, you know, shape or like so nor armature, but if you could do water bladder, you have a kind of you know something a bit softer and it’s only filled with a kind of foam, probably ever for closed cell phone, something like that and it’s it’s pretty comfortable on the back and keeps it shape. So it’s pretty it’s a pretty good thing for about such a small backpack.

Today, we’re going to be doing a review on the Falcon to Maxpedition gear pack right here. This pack I’ve been using for many of years um about probably three years now or so it’s great for solo trips. One day hikes, you know, I’m camping out in the woods for one day, I would say no more than one day. I would be using this pack and everything.

So, let’s start off with everything I got on it. I do have the Maxpedition Waddell bottle canteen carrier right here. This is the big one. It fits a whole bottle of wine to get an idea on how big this water bottle holds. On this side, I got my se-hoon glass. It’s a great knife to have out in the woods to do chopping, batani and all big wood works on also I do carry the six and sometimes the three with me.

It depends on how far I’m going and traveling it depends on how much weight I want to carry sometimes I will not carry this I’ll carry an axe. Instead, you know our advice. First of all carry a two small knifes. You know and an axe, but on the back here, here’s the back. The straps are nice and beefy they’re really strong. As you can see right here, they got excellent, padding in them as well and inside here it’s got.

A bladder to carry your water hundred ounces of water can be carried inside up here got all kinds of MOLLE webbing on the sides. You can weave MOLLE webbing between your se-hoon the list, and it fits on here nice and snug. As you can see on the back and then right here, I do have this carabiner set up at case. My knife tends to fall off which it never has.

But this is this a backup, so I do not lose my knife whatsoever and it comes off real easy like this. So that’s the se homeless I got a carabiner here as well. This comes off with these on the back. You can do your tack ties and your tact I stick extremely well right here. So let’s get to the front, you got your strap here, and everything and I do have a couple added features on here as well.

This is a Maxpedition like keychain, holder, coin holder, or what I like to keep in here since I. Do a lot of Shaving is here plugs you want to keep your ear plugs right. There they’re real, easy to get to in case you need to fire off your firearm more than once, of course, you’re going to want to put your ear plugs in. It’s got tons of moly attachments in the front as well, and then on the front here is my condor squall.

It right here. I have nothing in it right now, but it’s a great wallet to put a picture of your wife when you’re out hiking. You want something nice to look at. Of course you can put extra money in there, whatever you feel like putting in there, and also it does if open on the top, which makes it easy to grab information. You can put small maps and small gear in there as well.

Sorry there’s a lot of bees out here today. Okay, then, let’s get to the front compartment right here on the top compartment right here you got a small top compartment, and- and this is you know, like 4 inches by 7, inches long I believe so right inside of here, I got a bivy sack in here. A small Sol baby sack as well. I do have a Maxpedition pocket kit.

This is just a small first aid kit, so if I’m hurt out in the woods or whatever I do have first-aid supplies, I’m not going to open all this stuff, because everyone’s seen a lot of the first-aid gear out there I do have a EDC tourniquet as well and I do have some extra paracord in here. So that’s the small compartment right there. Now, let’s move down to this other compartment right here and the front of the pack there’s a lot of bees out.

Sorry guys! Um I got some Condor gloves right here. These are always great to have, of course, I got a fire tinder kit right here in the front. I have a flashlight here, a headlamp right here as well targets, of course, and Altoids tin. These are very good kids to have these outside tins. I have an se Arrowhead in here, I have a little bit of first aid and some dry tinder in here, such as valid Altoids tins, could save your life and keep a lot of things dry too.

A lot of times I do vacuum. Seal these up before I, do make a long travel, so I recommend vacuum sealing all these up. Okay, then I got a bandana in here Indiana full of like dangerous scorpions snake bites, plus it’s orange it’s bright. A lot of people can see it there in the forest. I do have a small life gear flashlight right here. These light up green and they blink distress signals.

What have you so there’s a lot of good stuff in that compartment. This is an excellent meat package as well. It’s made out of 1000 in here. This pack is really rugged. It’s made for battle it’s made for out in the woods the forest. What have you? It’s really well-made? It’s held up for you know three years now, so, let’s get into the middle compartment right here.

The middle compartment folds out like this I, don’t have too much gear in here. You know: I got like Kleenex and a little bit of toilet paper for when I’m out in the woods. I get some dry bags here as well. Um I got the SE map case there. That’s a great place to store your maps. Um I got the wicked tree. Gear saw right there, so I don’t have too many things in apartment.

This is a stock that I usually normally carry when I’m out hiking, but I haven’t had time to stock this pack for a hike today, but I am doing a hike next week. So look forward to that I’m. Looking forward to that. Okay, now the big department is right here. Guys I got a lot of stuff in here. I got the Emmis our peel right here. I got the GSI kit right here: umm MSR pocket rocket, stove right there, some cooking pots and pans right.

There I got a shemagh right here, and these are great for all kinds of purposes, laying down on the ground keeping your stuff from getting dirt on it and, if you’re hot out in the forest, these are awesome to dip in the delight to wrap around your neck, to put under your hat. What have you so this? Is this like a short review on this whole Maxpedition pack? It’s just really nice, this whole pack on the bottom to you.

You can set this down. It’s got a seal on the bottom, a really tough seal and it’s stitched very well. These packs are so nothing’s going to be poking through the bottom. These straps fit perfect so like if you got the Gen 2 sleeping bag, the Recon Gen 2 sleeping bag. If it’s perfect, this is ditte TI ammeter of that sleeping bag. It goes out to here the sleeping bags under 2 pounds.

Now, at the end of that, I also promised that I wanted to do a video of said, backpack and so I was out today figured it was a perfect time to do it so check this out. So it’s not a it’s, not a super in-depth review. It’s just an EDC loadout I, just basically dumped on my backpack, for you go ahead and judge it go ahead.

So this is my Maxpedition falcon 2 backpack in the khaki foliage color. I won’t be going to in-depth on the specs and materials and anything like that. It’s not really a review, it’s more just an EDC loadout I’ll be showing you what I have inside on my day to day basis, just to give you sort of an idea of what I carry and what this backpack can carry for this type of scenario, so just gonna go ahead and get started.

I’ll be starting with this first Bronco pouch, this small one, which I tend to use just kind of as a quick grab and go ouch or I’ll carry just whatever I’m, using in the current situation. In this case a bunch of batteries, my batteries, Carmack’s portable charger, a little screen screen rag, Zippo and a little wrench that you might be familiar with for mounting GoPro on months. So it changes all the time. It’s not meant for anything, except should I want to grab without having to dig to the deep his darkest depths of this backpack so lower front pouch.

This one has about just under 20 feet now of Titan survival, warrior code, cord, sorry and this I just carried to practice. I like practicing knots I like practicing. You know little paracord projects like what I did with this big, lighter I also carry a bandana. This I’ll get to in a sec hand, sanitizer sharpie, lead pencil, mini energizer, Pocket light 6 foot measuring tape. Well, this is a Maxpedition mini pocket organizer. This is basically the not so serious half of my first-aid that I carry on the day-to-day basis.

This has bandages bug spray in here. I carry medications, pain, pills, diarrhea pills, antacids, allergy pills, you name it and in here I carry point mints such as after bite, I have to burn hydrocortisone a couple causes and I also have our hydration salts. So this is more of just kind of everyday common injury. Booboo kid you know nothing’s, nothing too serious. Now we’re gonna go ahead and go into the what’s called secondary compartment here, I’ll carry more miscellaneous stuff.

Cordage ties for charger, cable that I had in my pocket. Another charger, cable earphones that imma leave in there I feel like it’s always good to carry these wall charges and a cigarette lighter adapter also have a small red and ring general and, like I, said I like to practice. My knots so I carry that little card, so I have a small drawing pad moleskin moleskin journal and Meetup big planner, basically calendar for the year for the past year, rather stay organized in and outside of my backpack.

So this being the bigger compartment, I tend to keep it a little more empty. You can see it’s a lot tons of room in there and that’s because if I ever go to the store and I buy anything because I have some to carry, it goes in here most of the time, I avoid using the main compartment on the everyday basis, just because it’s a little more of a pain to get to you and it’s frankly, a little unnecessary and I’ll even throw in that kind of. If you’re not really super organized in the main compartment, it tends to fall jump in the back and I mean if you carrying this every day.

You don’t want to be uncomfortable with it, so, but the main compartment I’m gonna go ahead and open it vertically. Just so, you can see what I mean about keeping it organized to avoid. Having bulging on your back, which you know, let’s be honest, it it’s it’s annoying. So this is how I keep it setup, Maxpedition fr1. This is basically my iPad kit. This is where all the fun stuff is at Klean, Kanteen and then just slim slim stuff on this pouch and nothing on this patch, because this is what mine is on my back my back Maxpedition fr1 pouch and khaki yeah.

It’s the bigger, more important half of my first-aid, where I’ll carry real quick, quick, clot, Mylar, blanket swathi tourniquet, which I do want to swap out for the ratchet style and then just keep this in a bug-out bag or hiking. Whatever I have some scissors. Duct tape excuse the noise, some tweezers gripper, gloves gauze bandage banglar bandage pads sponges, just you know, trauma trauma kit. This is one of the more important things and one of the main reasons why I set up this backpack in the first place.

I always felt it was an important thing to have on me and I did put a lot of thought into it. It’s it’s not the fanciest I know, but there is nothing in here that I don’t know how to use and I, wouldn’t know exactly where it is in case of an emergency situation. So nobody else would because I don’t have a patch on it, but we’ll get to that later. This is the Maxpedition beefy pocket, organizer foliage color. This is where the fun stuff is. Here. We have pair of Max uh, sorry, mechanics cloves.

You have a emergency red light. You have a Sharpie Leatherman signal, snow-peak, titanium, spork, some duct tape, wrapped around some plastic, some zip ties here. We have the replaceable red lens from my black Scout survival, while tech flashlight, which replaces the strike bezel. Whenever you want to preserve your night vision and I, did do a small right up on this flashlight and my black Scout survival TAC up on the dead leg. Calm, if you haven’t already checked it out this side, we have Stanley flask some good ol Jameson.

We have another just over 20 feet of Titan survival, warrior cord Titan survival, fire steel with survivor, cord lanyard attached to the end of it go to a deck of cards and under it we have some spare triple-a and double-a batteries and finally Petzl tactical model, plus RGB, red, green and blue light, and that’s about it for this. This is more of the stuff. I don’t reach for every five minutes, but it’s the kind of that. You would be extremely glad that you carry on your bag in case of mini survival, emergency extreme, boredom or you trying to eat lunch, and you don’t have it eating utensil! That’s where that comes in this.

Isn’t this isn’t a bug out bag? This is just preparedness. This is the stuff that I feel a lot more comfortable, carrying all the time, then risking being in the situation where I wish I had it physical map in case I lose my phone or something happens. This is just a good way to know how to get around my area and Wet Ones come on itself. It’s fun. I also carry some extra tack. Ties in here and I’ll also sometimes carry water either inside for situations like this, where I’m just kind of walking around the town boom most of the time, if I’m on a hike which I also use this backpack for I’ll, attach my Maxpedition mini Roly Polys on the side, which is another thing, I love about this backpack, it’s super versatile.

You can fine-tune it for every single situation that you know, you’re gonna, be it’s built like a tank, it’s water-resistant, it can be super loaded up and a lot of people won’t admit it, but it matters. This bag looks cool. There will be more reviews like this in the future I own, a second one of these that I used as my bug-out bag and I also own a girl Falcon, which I’ll use for camping, I’m, hoping to do soon. That’s that’s my max position. Falcon 2 changes all the time.

Hi folks, thanks for tuning in today, I’m going to share my EDC pack with you all. This is something I keep in my vehicle for emergency purposes: I, don’t use it for camping and I, don’t use it for fishing or bushcraft. It basically sits there like fire extinguisher or many insurance policy, just in case I ever do need it and, of course, that’s one of the major cons of this bag because it’s an expensive little write-off.

Now this bag is not what you all would call a bug out bag. It’s not that animal! That’s for a different review in a different day. This bag is designed to get me home. Maybe if traffic war completely stopped due to some sort of a major incident or I had broken down or for some unknown reason, I have to leave my vehicle behind, spend the night on the side of the road underneath an overpass, that’s the intended purpose of this bag.

It’s not foolproof. It will not address every situation, but it does provide me with some options. So what I’ll do is I’m going to jump into it shortly? I’m going to talk about all the contents on the outside, then I’m going to start breaking it down and we’re going to get inside the bag. This is going to be a multi-part series, so hang in there and I’m not going to review the bag itself because it’s been reviewed or writing, but I will tell you it’s a Maxpedition, Falcon, 2 and I’ll.

Just give you some quick specs on the bag, the approximate dimensions, the capacity and I think this numbers is going to be more important to you all, 15 20 on the cubic inches and it’s 25 liters to bag. That’s a conversion! 100 ounce bag, our 100 ounce bladder, we’ll take in the back or three liters and, as you see this bag here configured today, it’s 23 point five pounds or ten point: six: five kilograms in just the bag without the contents.

I was able to get this for 146 dollars. Having said that, let’s get into the bag up front here. I have a mini, Rollie pollie. This is the smallest one. It’s pretty lightweight and I think it could come in handy as an additional pouch. So I put it in there underneath I have a garment and let me just lift it up for you.

What we have here is a North Face fleece. This is a wind resistant one and it could come in handy if it is very cold out and I need to leave my vehicle and strap this bag on my back and start walking. So this is a must-have. In my opinion, in the front, I have a keeper here: Maxpedition keeper dang, some additional items over here I have a small D ring or Grimlock, and this is for hanging lightweight items, perhaps a shirt or a hat or something along those lines and right here, I have a little light by E gear.

So it’s called the ear gear Guardian and it’s on here for the for the obvious reasons: if I’m walking in traffic I want to be seen- and this will afford me some sort of safety- and this is good for about 250 hours or so light now, we’ll move over to this side and I have a lot of stuff going on here. Let’s talk about the night.

First I did put a quality knife on here. This is a premium knife, it’s almost too nice to be on this bag. In my opinion, but it’s on there. For now this is a fault even f-1. Most of you have seen this knife. This has been reviewed to death. It’s quality knife, it isn’t a custom. Sheath I do have the pouch for the diamond and ceramic stone there fire steel on this side.

You can wear this dangle style or you can wear. You can remove this piece here and wear it on your belt. Just like Scout carry this one. Here is the premium model. It is the 3G laminated powder steel. Let me see if I can give you a shot of that blade there. If it’ll focus so–that’s knife that I have in there, it is stainless, but this is a very high quality knife and I have no doubt that this knife will perform I’ll set that over there.

Let’s talk a little bit about this pouch right here here, I keep a lighter, just an old standby Zippo, and what I will say on a con about these. They do dry out over time and you need to keep fueling them, probably every three to six months. I need to put fuel in this because it does dry it out up top here.

I have get this a little closer I. Have this pouch here with a multi fork. I know when I chose for this bag is the charge. This is a Leatherman charge, TTI very nice, multi-tool I do have the bit extender right here, should I need to get into a tight spot and in the back here, I have a sleeve with additional bits that will attach to this Leatherman.

So that’s the multi-tool that I have on the bag in this pouch over here we’re talking about hydration and we’re also talking about cooking. This is the Pathfinder bottle and canteen and I. Have it in this skeletonized bottle, holder by I, TS I, believe it’s put out by new Zulu nylon gear. But the way this works is you simply would pull that off.

Grab your bottle, and this is for I, keep it full and it will adjust to almost any canteen, even a 40-ounce or military canteen. This is a 40. This will fit in here. Fine, you know even fit in this cop, but this is what I went with over a standard bottle holder, because I thought this was just too big and bulky and just consumed too much space I didn’t want the additional weight.

So I want a little bit more minimalist on this, this this portion of it, so that addresses this side of the bag and then what we’re going to do is I’m going to show you that I do have some gloves on top nothing fancy there. Just a pair of gloves I got a Cabela’s, deerskin and I wanted something to protect my hands with and we’ll throw those over there now over.

Here is where things get a little more interesting. Actually before we talk about this first aid, medical pouch, let’s go to the front of the bag or the shoulder straps I do have a TED scream whistle on this retractor and I figured. If I was going to have a whistle on there. I was going to have a loud one on there now I’m not going to blow this, because it’s pretty obnoxious but it, but it is very effective.

Now over here, I have a Dominator clip in case I wanted to attach something else to here. A lot of folks will actually run their hydration bladder through here through this area, and they will use these clips to attach it and I have a flashlight also on the strap where I can get to it, and the one I chose is a Roe ffice.

It is jay-ar, 30 I believe this is a transformer light. It’s a very neat light. It takes a single, so I can give you a shot of it. It takes a single double-a battery. You have an activation switch on the back and then here in the front. This is for your different modes. It has about five modes, but what’s nice about this light, is you can attach it to the outside of the pack to illuminate your path and the way you would do that? Is you simply rotate this head and check that out now you have an angle light, and this is this is a very, very nice light, and that rides right in here.

So we do have lighting I have more lighting in the pack, but this this is going to be the primary light. Now, let’s get back to the first aid over here we have a small pouch and we have some shears some medic shears in here. Over on this side, we have an 11-10 tourniquet pouch with a tourniquet and I hope.

I never need this, because, if you’re in here you obviously have a bunch of different problems, I also have a micro stream right there. Let me see if I can pop that out a little bit further. That’s a micro stream, a little flashlight to tree in some wounds and I do like this case over some of the other ones.

This is another pouch that I have with another tourniquet. This is a combat applications tourniquet in here, but, as you can see, the tourniquet is exposed, so it can get soiled and I’m, not real crazy about that. So I thought this was a better option to protect it and to keep it clean. Then I also keep it in this bag here.

So it’s nice and sanitary, if I ever need to use it. Hopefully I’ll never will all right. Now. Let’s talk about this first-aid kit here that I have and it’s actually just a pouch. It’s called a tow boy. I got it from I ts, tactical and I purchased it empty it empty and then I threw my own items in there. A la carte there’s a couple ways to open this.

You can grab this handle here. Yank it and you’re instantly have all your contents or there’s a ripcord in the back here for the moly sticks and if I yank this the entire pouch will actually come off the Maxpedition Falcon -. Then this string will actually release these Molly Clips here and it releases them and when it does, it just comes right off just like that by pulling it.

So this is a nifty little Molly attachment clip. I haven’t seen anything like this, but this is uh. This is a new upgrade for me. Initially I was using ones like this, which you all have seen. These are stand there. Malice clips also Maxpedition puts out these clips here, leave the contact eyes and they work fine, but they’re a little sloppy yeah things move around, but this is this is the ones I got from IPS tactical, and this is I, think you’re going to be the the new ones I use going forward.

It’s just so easy to remove them. Anyway, let me show you I’m not going to take it all the pack, because it’s a real pain to come on, but I will open it and show you that it is packed with emergency supplies and, as you can see, there, I have everything that I really need. Treat blisters, bleeding, gloves, gauze, ace bandage for the ankle and on this side, I have tools on this side.

I have more tools syringe to clean a wound. Things get really bad I have an Israeli bandage up here: hemostats some medication, a bunch of other items to treat wounds and to clean wounds with disinfect them. So it’s equipped and off it’s not a level 2 or or a premium level. 2 I do have one of those and I’ll review that a different time, but for a kit like this, this is this is optimal and it does give me some options and some remedies should I need to treat myself and in here, I just have a bunch of different tools, treat wounds, splinter removal, etc, etc.

So, let me close this up and then we are going to be transitioning and moving into the inside of the back. As you can see, this thing is just a little pack and a little difficult to close there we go anyway. What I’ll do is I’ll, break down this front compartment here and then perhaps we’ll move into part two, because there’s really a lot of material to cover.

Actually, you know what let me spin this back around. Let’s do the back here, because I failed to mention something. This is where the hydration bladder goes back here. Folks and I wanted to open it up and just show you what I have in there. I have a drum liner and this is a contractor bag. Three mil- and this could come in handy- should I need to build a shelter, have a little cover over my head to keep the water off me.

So I’ll put that over there I do have a military-grade poncho in here ripstop nylon with a little light on here, and these are not the 499 ones you see at the checkout counter. This is a very nice one. It has the grommets and in the middle here inside I have a very, very lightweight hat. It’s it’s almost like a feather I.

Believe I got this one from County comm, but just in case I do have to sleep out. I want something to cover my head and keep my ears warm. So here’s the poncho more cover I, can combine that with the fleece and get some added protection and there’s nothing else back here. But this is where- or this is what’s designed to hold the hydration bladder I’m going to close that up.

We are going to pause right here and when we come back, we are going to jump into these compartments in here then we’re going to jump into the middle compartment, then we’re going to jump into the back compartment, see.

Sup Turtles its Creek here with black outdoors and today I’m, going to be doing a review on the Maxpedition Falcon 2 backpack. This is the OD green color combination and there are 10 different color combinations available for the pack. This, the pack retails Maxpedition selling it for 150 $5 99, where you can find it a little bit cheaper online and it’s a 25 liter bag. But first what I’m? Keeping this at you know really to me.

Snugly securely. Is this one and a half inch hip belt, which is comfortable, comfortable means and very effective, and there also is a sternum strap which I don’t have class right now, but there’s this one-inch sternum, strap and before I, get into the specs and and the details of the pack I just just want to mention that my first impressions of this bag, as most people’s, are when you, when you feel it, and you touch it that this is a robust heavy heavy duty, thorough bag and I’m gonna.

Get into that now and start uh start explaining some of the things and, as I mentioned about the hip belt and the sternum strap going on the bag to help secure around the body. There’s these little weight, tensioning straps that run on the on the shoulder pad on the shoulder straps that are attached to the bag, I’m getting a camera if I’d the load on and I want to get this little tighter I just pull down this above my head above me, and then it’ll get the weight more securely to me- and this is a feature you really don’t ever see on bags this small.

This is more reserved for bags of a bigger and carrying heavier with heavier loads, and it’s a nice little feature because, like I said, this bag is just super robust and it’s made, you know I think just to be loaded and tested to its its its full potential all the time- and this is a falcon to the second generation of the Falcon and Maxpedition line and the vast majority of the upgrades the improvements, the changes with the Falcon 2- is this: this additional pals webbing making this bag completely Molly, you know compatible all over and you see it running down.

The sides have a little bit right here: front of the bag and the same inside inside and there’s even some and some nylon on the shoulder straps up to here’s a little little flashlight that has a green beam and then on each side of the bag. There’s two compression straps, which essentially, if I, have less weight in the bag, I can kind of cramp this up and pull it and really secure the weight.

That’s in it or it can. You know to expand out to the bags full volume and then I can attach stuff using these and there’s two of these on each side and on the front. There’s this. Why compressions compression strap does the same thing, just a different load points or you get stress points on the bag to help you get the loads secured and tight nice feature. This Y is a really nice feature so on the front of the bag, as you can see from the angle, there’s two out exterior outside pockets on the bag, and these are all YKK, zippers and zipper tracks heavy-duty, really strong and in this front, larger of the exterior pockets, there’s a little bit of organizational capabilities with the places to put smaller things to help keep you know things tidy and neat, and the zipper on the on this pocket only runs three quarters: roughly three-quarters of the size of the pocket, above that the other external pocket.

Small compass there’s no extra organizational capabilities with a small pocket. Now, the first of the main compartments of the bag right here and yeah I’m showing this of how this does not come down. The whole way like this all the large main compartment I’ll show you show you what that means in a little bit, so this bag or this pocket opens up, and there is some organizational capabilities, these two mesh pockets, one behind it and all these zipper pulls are 550 paracord.

Now the main compartment of the bag, the largest pocket zippers the whole way down to the bottom of the bag, and what that allows you to do is to open up the whole entire bag and really get into it mesh pocket on this side of the inside of the pocket, sir, the other another mesh pocket only here with a zipper so until looking organizing and flipping the bag over so I get. It is the high for the hydration pouch goes.

This is combative, compatible slide it slide in here, then. This is padded and down below here, there’s a little bit of velcro for a holster specific holster to go in here for a concealed, carry for a firearm, sidearm I’m, not sure how that’s really gonna feel in the back of the lumbar, if you’re wearing a pack, you have a firearm in here, but and on the bottom here. This reinforced rubber bottom for extra security when you always put the bag down on wet or dirty surfaces, nice little extra feature- and you have these nylon straps for more capabilities of strapping stuff to the bay and this whole bag is is made of which aids aids in the lure the heavy weight of the bag.

It’s over a thousand I think is 1050 denier nylon, which is super super thick rugged durable. The bag weighs over three pounds, and this is definitely adding to weight of the over the 10 50 denier nylon, and this is coated triple coated for abrasion and water. Resistance was a Teflon coating on it and you can get a close-up here added extra strength, because this is a really heavy bag on these extras.

Only stress points which would be the handle these straps, that I was mentioning to cinch the weight down, connect it to the shoulder straps, there’s the box and x4 for added strength, and these are. This is a little bit extra duty, nylon, a thread higher tensile strength and just another little loop coming out here to attach something to you know this bag just for those little features or really make it highly customizable.

On your end of how you want to strap things and really organize stuff in the bag and so being a 25 liter bag. I’m gonna put this in a category of add a pack size wise. Now you can use this weather depending and your style of camping to be an overnight bag. If you wanted to you know, it’s really warm weather you’re, not contending with a lot of elements. I could I could see this working.

But for me personally, it’s a little too small to do that and even has a day pack. I just feel like it’s just a little too small, but that’s made up for by the highly organizational capabilities of the pack with all the pockets, the pals webbing, all the straps use just little little things you can do to really tailor it to what you’re carrying makes up for the size, in my opinion, but that probably my only gripe with the bag just a little too small, because you know there’s not one main compartment large main compartment to stuff a lot of stuff.

It’s broken down there to which you can organize really well, but then it’s just taken. You know a lot of space in the large pocket. You can stuff clothes extra things of that nature. That’s just my opinion. Some people might not find it an issue at all, but this says the Maxpedition falcon to the creek sounding out with blak outdoors later turtles.

Hey guys Dave here, I’m gonna be reviewing the Maxpedition Falcon 2 backpack I’ve had this bag for 10 years now, I have a pretty good idea of the good and the bad and where I would recommend it and where I would not recommend it. Let’s start with the specs here it is a 23 litre bag. It is made of 1050 denier nylon. This stuff is indestructible: almost I highly recommend it I’ll show you close-up of the bag material.

This is 10 years later, so I’ve used it for kayaking canoeing, hiking EDC for this for the city, first I’m gonna go over just the specs and the design and everything else, and then I’ll go over some of my final thoughts on the bag. Ok, so here is the material right here you can see it. To be honest, it looks brand-new. So you have this compression sack compression strap up here.

I use it to put my jacket in here when I’m, hot and I’m hiking up here. Small admin pouch down here, another pouch another eat another Maxpedition bag, and then here you’ve got a few places for pens and so forth. Moving on to the middle pouch here, alright, let me set up here. The middle pouch here in here I’ve got a whole bunch of gear.

I’ll go over my gear in another video, but in here you can go further down another Maxpedition pouch and it goes pretty far down up here heavy-duty handle. So these are also compression straps for you here from here and here the push to compress all this, but I also use it to attach things as well, because I really don’t need I, really don’t need a compression I need space.

So again, I opened it up. I have my jacket here: I got a 10 by 10 tarp, some food I got a saw, there’s a pouch up here at the top, with a zipper. There’s one pouch here as well a note for this one I’d rather have another pouch here and move this one down further. That’s just my preference as well all right! So here you can see more MOLLE webbing.

All the way across here. I use this to attach my axe. These zippers, these white g2k zippers, are crazy. Strong I’ve actually lifted this whole bag. By these things, a few times kind of by accident kind of laziness, you name it on the back here underneath this zipper here you can put in a a water but or a water bladder, and then here your straps with more webbing d-rings okay.

So where am I going to criticize this bag? Here’s one part right now. These straps are pretty thin, they’re good. If you don’t overload this bag, I’ve loaded it pretty bit pretty pretty good, but if I added, actually a bag underneath here and I attached more things on the outside I would definitely not be too happy with this thin padding.

The other one is the one where the load bearing is here. This is no padding here whatsoever right. This is just some webbing right. So that’s another downside. It’s not thick enough here, which I get it. It’s a small bag and that’s the purpose of it. But if you fill it up really heavy and you attach things on the outside that this gear is designed to attach things on the outside, then I would have put something more, even this minimum here, that’s what I would’ve done.

So that’s my opinion now I’ve had it for again ten years right. Look at this! You see that what’s happening here. Is it ripped? If you look at this one right, so I thought this webbing goes through all the way through it. Doesn’t it just ends here, so they just they just stitched up to here and that’s it, which kind of doesn’t make it very strong but I’m, assuming the reason why I stopped right here is because this stitching right here might have a strip inside here, I can’t yeah.

There feels like something in here, so maybe it keeps going but anyways, that’s my criticism. I have actually broken the bag a little bit. This is not from any abuses. Just wearing terror really could have been some abuse, I don’t know, but I don’t think so. So that’s my criticism of the bag is the padding. It should have better padding and I would have definitely made the stitching’s better around through that.

Where would I take this bag hiking canoeing, kayaking any day trips, EDC, amazing EDC for City use I would highly recommend this bag for the city overnight. It just doesn’t have the capacity, that’s the only issue, its capacity, it just just doesn’t have the weight and and because, even if you did load it up like crazy, you don’t have the support the padding to handle the load and yeah.

Maybe you could do it for 30 minutes to an hour of a hike. You start getting past an hour. You’re gonna start feeling it on the shoulders and the hips. Maybe so that’s that’s why I would not recommend this for an overnighter and thanks for watching guys, and if you liked the video subscribe like the video. All right today we’re going to go over uh from my least favorite to my favorite from max edition. This is the maxpedition falcon 2 and it gets a solid thumbs down rating for me, solid thumbs down uh there’s a lot of things. I don’t like on this. First of all, a backpack this size, which is slim and it should be, has no drink carriers.

I know you can add them, but on the pygmy two they’re already there ready to go. Uh are the pygmy itself, they’re already ready to go so thumbs down for not having side uh drinks thumbs down for having the compression straps they get in your way, you could almost cut these off and mount a drink and it’d be better, but there’s just a lot of things.

I just don’t like about this pack uh honestly um, it’s good looking. This is the olive one or the green one, the forest green, maybe um, but when you pack it you can see. This is level right here, see how it bows out- and it’s almost rounded like a tree. You cannot over pack this or it’ll be uncomfortable. Not only that these shoulder straps, I don’t really find comfortable for this size pack.

The shoulder straps here as compared to the shoulder straps look at the lengthwise, see how this one ends and this one goes like eight, nine more inches see the difference in size. That is a big deal when you have weight on this pack, not only that look at the back of this one now you don’t necessarily need this.

This is awesome. This feels great. This is the most comfortable pack I own for sure, hands down most comfortable pack. This is the uh falcon 3 highly recommend that one great great big thumbs up, but I got this one because I was going to put just some camping gear in it, throw it in the trunk and if I ever wanted to do impromptu, camping or if I ever broke down, I would have the essentials.

I need just in this kit right, so we’re not really going to go through the kit itself, we’re just going to show the difference in quality. So this has. This is the pygmy one. This has the same back, strap on it right here are the shoulder straps as the pygmy one, the exact same one. The problem is the pygmy. One is very light.

It’s an everyday, carry it’s very thin and you can see the thickness difference right there, this one’s round like a tree- and I know you- can load it lighter and put the compression straps in and that’s probably what I’m gonna do, because it’s just not not all there for me um, it does have the uh if you want to do a hidden concealed, carry in there great.

But you don’t want a gun on this right here, because it’s going to be jabbing you in the back anyway. Perhaps you can put a water bottle in there, but the top of it’s rated for a water bottle inside so you’re supposed to put your uh bladder in there if you’re gonna do that, but I’m just not a fan of this at all.

This would be great lightly, loaded on a girls frame um. If you’re gonna go light in this, just why not get the the or the pygmy anyway. Why not right? There’s nothing else on here that I want that didn’t already on here. In fact, this one’s a lot better, so we’re gonna put this one out of the way. There’s the uh full review of it got the compression strap there.

You got all your zippers, you got one two pockets on the outside, plus an internal plus your main pouch um, and I could load this a lot lighter, but I still um. I still don’t like it honestly, I just don’t um. I wish I would have returned this and gotten two of the pigments they’re that good. I wear this every single day.

So, let’s go on to. Let’s get that out of the way here. Let’s go on to and by the way this one right here is 10 pounds heavier than that one loaded out right now, and it is ten times more comfortable too. This is this is my favorite pack right, but for everyday carry meaning what you’re gonna do uh work wise. I wear this every single day to work on the outside.

I have a flashlight right here. These are oh lights: they’re, the uh, long lasting uh, 5t e i5t eos. You can see that and I’ve got I’ve got bunches of them. I got like four of them: um the momentary click on and hold down for brighter, so you can get it real dim or you can get a brighter and a nice clicky button there.

In the end. This is what I wear to work every single day on the side. Here I have a weatherman umbrella that self retracts very good hands up the handles up to 45 mile an hour wind. So it gives me shelter from the rain at work. If I need to go out and smoke, my electronic cigarette, or something like that I’ve got some cover on the other side is a full-size water bottle.

My expedition still got some water in there, our soda in there from yesterday, and they fit in there real good uh. The toggles are great. They should have put these right here, which both sides will hold. This water bottle uh on that one and they should have put different because it’s it’s rated to handle a lot more.

They should have put uh different straps on it if they would have put the the straps the size of the uh falcon 3 on there, that’d be a good pack and and change the back. Padding that’d be a good pack, but then why not just get the falcon 3 so starting off here, we’ll kind of go into this one, because it’s my everyday um.

You have one main pack on here right here. You don’t have the split like you do on that one and you have outside on here. So I carry things on the outside. Like for my work, like pens, markers things like that things I can get to um. I work in the heat, so I always carry gold bond, friction uh for the heat and then on the inside uh.

I’ve got my hat in case it’s ever cold. I got a deodorant. I’ve got just things for work. You know tissues, tissues, extra, deodorant, uh roller for for hair, uh, hats, uh box cutters to open packages and boxes at work and stuff um. So that’s it. So it’s a big dump- and I love this. I love this and then you get into the next pack, which is like the main pack, and I don’t have a lot in there, but I’ll go through some of it with you.

I got my paperwork all my reports that I have to go through for work. I’ve got another full-size water bottle that I sit up top. I got my notebook for work and two of the uh slim packs in there that have different things in them. Uh this one’s medical, um, first aid, kit, uh stuff, like that things I use for work, hand sanitizer, uh things like that.

So this is perfect and I have my notebook in here uh to go over things that work, and this is great. This is all I need and it is comfortable because you don’t load it down a lot, because the straps are not rated, and I love that you can clam shell open it, which you really can’t on the falcon 2 because of these compression straps every time you want to clam shell, open it like this and get to the full inside, you have to undo four straps, which is a pain.

This one just clam shells open and I can put all my stuff in here- I can put more books in here. I can put gear. I can put uh uh battery packs, meaning like milliamp hour battery packs to recharge phones and everything, and this is just a super everyday pack- it’s very comfortable because you can’t overload it because of its size.

Another thing I like about it is: it’s slim, it’s always gonna, be slim you’re, not gonna, have that third pouch right here with three four inches right here to make it fat. So therefore it doesn’t need compression, straps, fully maxed out. That’s it for thickness everyday carry. These straps are very adequate and the backing on it is very adequate um.

But the problem is they put these same straps on this one, and this one has like vinyl backing this one has mesh backing much more comfortable in this one than this one. This one also has the liner on the outside, and so does this one, but they put no vinyl on there. They put some drain holes in instead and made it more uh military-esque, with the uh entry to get a weapon if you have a weapon in there, but this is this was bowed to begin with, because I loaded it down and I didn’t put a whole lot in there.

Honestly, I didn’t um. So if you’re gonna do a work pack, this is perfect. This is the wolf gray, um they’re out of stock. You could probably find it online and this is a pleasure to carry all day long in and out of work uh. I wouldn’t hesitate to walk miles with this trek into the city uh. Whatever you want to do.

This is a pretty good pack highly recommend this now after I’ve had this one for a long time, maxpedition had a buy one, get one sale uh on their backpack, so I almost got buy one get one two of these and I’m like yeah, I’m gonna mix it up and I’m gonna get the falcon 3 and I’m so glad I would have sent these back, but they’re uh special.

You can’t send them back, so I’m stuck with this pack. Basically um, but when they had to buy one get one I I thought I’d try the falcon 2 and the falcon 3. So I’m going to set this one over there and the falcon 3 excellent. The length of this is awesome. When I put this one on it felt like uh, someone had me tied by rope because it’s so weighted down and the straps are so little um.

It felt like I was putting on a small child’s backpack heavily loaded on my back, not an adult sized backpack. This one is perfect. This one is like I said: it’s got 10 more pounds. This is the usk urban survival kit, uh everything from nut and fancies urban survival kit is in here and when you have something this big, I don’t mind these compression straps, because I could really cinch it down.

If I want and add more and it doesn’t matter, if I had more see how flat that back is and pliable, I still have a lot of room in there, and this is very comfortable on my back, and these shoulder straps are very, very comfortable when I put this on it. Just fit even the that’s: the chest strap see how that flexes and goes with time uh.

Depending on how you move this one was just super comfortable right off the get-go. This is the most comfortable pack I own for sure, so it blows away uh all the other packs I own. I love it. So my initial, my initial thing was: I was going to put uh. This was going to be my usk that was going to be my get home bag camp bag, whatever in case the car broke down.

Anything like that, I could uh impromptu camp with my family, so I don’t have a lot in there. I have a tarp. I have a a little military hammock and I’ve got a little bit of rations of food and uh tent stakes and that’s about it in there and a little uh bug net pillow that this big as it squashes down, and it just screams that it needs a bigger pack.

So this one is going to be my backpack for the trunk of my car for sure. I’m not really happy with that one. I would not want to carry that. One even loaded down even loaded down the back of that I don’t like the material, the back of that I don’t like the straps and when you have that thick of a pack um, it’s not doing you any good.

If you can’t handle the weight, so it’s just wasted space um. I would have when I, when they had these buy one get one sales I would have rather had uh maxpedition, uh pygmy, and one of these I would have rather had one of these and one of these than this, even though that this is 50 60, more um big thumbs down.

So I’m hoping I have been helping someone out here by showing a little bit because all the reviews I see on this are: oh, it’s a great get home bag, it’s a great three day pack or overnight pack or whatever, and I just flat out, do not like it. I’m sure the quality is there, I’m sure the build’s there. I’m sure I could get a lot of gear out of here and make it work, but the amount of gear I’d have to put in here to make it work.

I would much rather have this design, because a lot of space inside is going to be water bottles and the water bottles are on the external. This you can put one on each side and it stays slim to the back and as the clamshell design without the uh straps everything so super happy with this one, um favorite pack definitely a three day pack super good quality.

Definitely an everyday pack go to work pack or uh trekking in the city pack, and that one just don’t like it. Okay, so this one holds a lot more than I’m showing here. It also sticks out a lot more. This is a bigger pack from your back, so if you’re walking through a doorway turning uh, which I do sometimes I hit this a lot on stuff, it’ll, thump off the side of it, because you’re not used to having a tortoise shell, basically on your back that sticks out that far um.

I never have that problem with this back this. This pack goes through everything, so without any issues without any problems um. So I really wouldn’t edc this, although it is just super comfortable unless you’re like dude, I’ve got a lot of gear, I have to carry every day. Um. I’ve got different cameras, different tripods, my laptop all this stuff, and it’s just not gonna fit in that.

That’s the only way I would go with this one for an everyday pack is, if I just had to load out gear after gear for the day, so quality wise. This will hold about what a alice pack will. So I got an alice pack here old house pack, and this has the metal frame the straps. This is from vietnam. Super old has the the three bags on it this one.

Not only does it hear that creaking, not only does it creep when you walk, it’s never silent, but it’s just not comfortable. It’s not comfortable, it doesn’t stand up. I’ve kicked my shins on this uh a hundred times because of this metal frame down here. Uh I’ve kicked it in my doorway, um sitting up it always just you can’t stand it up.

It always falls over every single time. It’s always gonna fall over and I got this thinking. Oh well, there’s this air ventilation, because your back sits right here and you can stick your hand through there. This is going to be the perfect pack. I don’t like the metal frame on it period. I don’t it creaks, it’s loud, it’s just I I don’t like and the comfort.

This thing is ten times more comfortable with that padding on there, the padding and these good long straps, which is what maxpedition should have done on that it’s like they created this one for a bug out kit for a kid. In fact, when this came, I I I put it on loaded out with that bubble on the back and it felt like it was pulling my shoulders back and my arms back and it felt like it wrote a pie, and this waist strap here was above my belly button way above my belly button uh with this one.

The waist can go at my pants level because it’s a lot longer pack height wise and it’s just super comfortable. I know I’ve rambled on, but if you were in the market for one of these, I hope you kind of helped you make a decision on what you wanted. Thank you.

Okay, so this is going to be a review on Maxpedition does make very high quality gear for military purposes. I am NOT in the military, however, so I’m going to be kind of reviewing this thing from the point of an outdoors use for this bag, such as camping, hiking, biking and stuff, like that, so I just want to put that out there. You can kind of tell it’s intended purpose by all the pals webbing all over it.

It is definitely a more quote-unquote tactical bag. You can obviously put many different MOLLE compatible gear on it, which is nice. You can definitely expand what it can carry easily by adding pouches and again just different gear items. I do have one MOLLE compatible thing on this, which is my bench mate rescue hook, which does utilize those pals webbing, so I just didn’t want to mention that, but I do use this bag primarily for outdoors purposes.

So let’s get started with the bag. Again. This is the Falcon 2. It does come in a large variety of colors. The one I have here is obviously the black one, but it does come in many different colors so definitely check that out. If you want this bag, but in a different color I paid about a hundred and twenty dollars for this, which is a pretty pricey for just a bag, and you know when I was first gonna buy it I wasn’t quite sure if it was worth it, but in hindsight is definitely worth 120 bucks.

The quality put into this backpack is unbeatable, it’s by far my most high-quality bag to date. So definitely it is worth a little bit of a higher price. Now, let’s talk about the overall build quality. First, the nylon. The use for this backpack is a thousand anyer. Now tenure is kind of a measurement of the kind of density. If you will, of the material, a thousand n yer I think is probably the highest quality nylon you’ll find on a bag.

So very good I do like that a lot. You have very nice, secure buckles for these compression straps here and they do secure very nicely nice and strong good quality stitching throughout all the seams. Are double stitched, which is very nice? The pals webbing is stitched on very securely no problem with them coming off anytime soon, and these zippers are heavy-duty YKK zippers.

They I’ve never had a problem with them. Getting stuck halfway. You know, on the cheaper bags, will get stuck on stuff, never had a problem with that and each one of them actually comes with a 550 paracord pull, which is a very nice touch. I like that quite a bit, so overall great build quality here. So let’s get started, I guess I will start with the front pouches.

Now again, you do have pals oping all over it, so you can add different pouches to this, for you know carrying a water bottle or such now. You do have this kind of v-shaped compression strap on the front. It is removable and I actually took it off when I originally got the bag. You just kind of feed the nylon strap through this little thing here and you can remove it.

However, when you start packing more stuff into this bag, it will obviously get wider and wider this way. So that is when this compression strap comes in handy and I put it back on eventually, so you will undo this to get to any pocket. Basically and the bottom front. Pocket does have a double zipper again. Each one does have a 550 Pole, which is nice and it basically unzips a little bit more than halfway down and you can see down in there.

Oh I did forget to mention that the whole bag is treated to be low, but water repellent, which is nice now Maxpedition, doesn’t suggest you wash this bag because it could damage that they just suggest you wipe it down if it gets dirty. But you do have a very nice material lining the inside there and you can see the pocket nice and large and you do have a little bit of an organizer on the front there.

You have larger back pocket here, a little keep. You could potentially put your keys on or anything you don’t want to loose, which is a nice feature and you’d have some slots here, for maybe pens and what I actually carried in here were some fire steels. And then you have a little bit of a larger pocket there and what I keep in that and I find it holds it very nicely.

There’s an extra folding knife and you can just see how nicely if it’s my military. So that’s very nice. That’s basically the front pocket and I’ll zip that back up now the front top pocket here is basically just a pouch. There is no internal organizer or anything like that. So just your standard pocket again lined with that very nice heavy duty material and what I actually keep up in this front pocket usually is a first aid kit, so it’s nice and easily accessible I, actually have it in a little Pelican case.

I just drop it in there and it works very nicely, and this one only has one zipper. The next compartment towards the back is a larger compartment. Now, if you don’t undo these compression straps on the sides by the way, there is two compression strap or compression straps per side, you can zip the pocket down to there. But if you do want a little bit easier access to the pocket, just undo the first compression strap and you can zip down the zipper even more about two-thirds of the way down so I I do like that quite a bit again.

The other side is the same. So I can open your bag nice and wide to get whatever you need. This pocket does go all the way down to the bottom of the bag, and you have a little bit of an organizer here again in this pocket back here, I usually keep my volta Maxpedition battery case, and it does work very nicely. It fits in there almost perfectly so that is where I keep that usually and then you have to mesh pouches here and the mesh by the way is very high quality.

You know break or frown you easily, so it is very high quality meshing. You don’t have to worry about that. So that is that pocket and it does have two zippers by the way so I look that back up now to the main compartment again, two zippers on the top there and what’s nice about this compartment, is that it actually zips down the full length of the bag.

You can see the zipper here. It will actually zip down all the way to the bottom, which allows you basically to fold the bag completely in half just pretty nice, very easy access, obviously to the main compartment. Now in this one, you have a large mesh pouch here and I usually store some paracord in that, and then you have a smaller mesh pouch on the front there right here.

It does have a zipper closure on the top. Hopefully you can see that, but it’s kind of funny shaped: let’s see how kind of tapers down towards the bottom there, but that is another pouch you can use and then, of course, just the main compartment itself. So this bag is definitely large enough for a single day hike and maybe a multi-day hike up to two days.

You were packing really light personally, I’ve never used this bag for a multi-day, camping trip or anything like that, because I have another much larger bag for that use. Basically, what I use this bag for our single day hikes and primarily actually for biking trips. This is actually my main biking bag now, because I bike on trails and when I’m biking, I, usually actually just bike out to a spot in the woods to use my year.

So I put all my gear in this and then bike out with this. So it’s actually a very nice bag for that the straps for the shoulders are very comfortable, they’re, nice and thick and will pad it same with the backing. Here you can hold a water bladder and I’ll show you the last compartment, and but this bag is extremely comfortable. It does come with this chest strap here with a nice buckle.

Obviously it is adjustable and it also did come with a waist strap. Now I took mine off, but it’s a little bit thicker and it threaded through this flap right here and it has a buckle again. I took mine off I. Never really use the waist straps for a smaller bag like this, but it is a nice option. If you do before I forget, you do also have two straps on the bottom of the bag.

You can use now I’ve threaded mine through a few times, so they weren’t dangling off because again I do use this bag primarily for biking. So you don’t really want anything to get caught up in the way, and you also have a very nice kind of rubberized bottom here, so you don’t have to worry about damaging a nylon, so very nice touch. There.

I’ll show you the compartment behind the bag now, and this is basically for your water bladder, but I mean you can keep anything you want in there. So there is one zipper down there and it kind of zips like a Camelback in the L shape like so to expose the inside compartment there. Now this can accommodate up to a three liter water bladder and that’s the size I use.

It is a Camelback bladder, I use and it fits in there perfectly fine, definitely enough space. Now you can see down in there. You have two panels of velcro and what that’s for is actually concealed carry of a pistol. You can buy a holster from Maxpedition that will utilize those two panels. I can carry a pistol for concealed carry down in there again.

This is more of a tactical bag. That’s why it’s there and I. Personally! Don’t use it obviously, but if you are a soldier I guess that would be an option for you. So again, very nice bag here I do like how it can accommodate the water bladder. You would feed your tube up here. It would come up this velcro closure right there. So do a few, your tube up there and then you can in turn run it down.

Whichever shoulder you prefer so very nice. So, overall, this bag is fantastic again, I paid around a hundred and twenty dollars for it. I think that’s about the asking price is going to have to pay, but definitely worth it. If you need a higher quality bag again really comfortable to use, and it does come in a variety of colors. Going to go over my get home bag. This is a Maxpedition Falcon -. There’s a thousand youtube reviews of this thing, so I’m not going to go into that and I’m just going to go real quickly about what I actually have in this bag, because I’ve gotten it from watching probably 50, if not 60, to 70 different YouTube reviews on either this bag or bug-out bags get home bags, whatever people are calling them these days.

So let’s go through this real, quick I. Don’t want to take up too much your time in the front. Pouch here is kind of my miscellaneous stuff, titanium, spork, zip ties. I have a fire steel, pins, a sharpie, a little crowbar with some paracord wrapped around it, as well as a little button compass. This is something you’re, probably going to see in too many bug-out bags or EDC bags. A lockpick set not for doing anything illegal, obviously, but you never know when you may have to take refuge in an abandoned building, for whatever reason you may have to get into a gated area to evade.

You know somebody who’s pursuing it and who knows who knows, but I’ve had this thing for years. So when I was building this bag, I said hmm, let’s throw that in there. Alright I just have a cheap, Gerber folding knife, nothing special serrated blade. This would kind of be a throwaway knife if I had to- or you know, just a cheaper one for whatever I have a Leatherman. This one is I, can’t member the model, number I’ll put it in the in the comments down below, but this one has the pliers built into many things: pretty cool thing, I love this thing and again, I got it in the flat dark earth.

You’ll notice a theme with a lot of my stuff, Flat Earth, a flashlight. This is the Oh light. Em 10 maverick I’ll do a separate review this. This is the coolest flashlight made for the size of this thing. This 350 lumens is ridiculous. It’s it’s fully lit in my shop here, and this thing is already you know. Casting a good glow on the table. Here went hunting this past weekend and my father-in-law saw me using this I.

Don’t know we I’ve used it to light up the trees at night or something, and he was impressed and now I got to buy him one right in the rain pad. That’s it for this all right up in this top pouch, just some more miscellaneous stuff, I have a ballpoint pen, wrapped with probably 15 to 20 feet of duct tape. Lip balm, it’s aquaphor. So although it’s lip balm excuse me, this is good for any kind of relief.

A lot of people I use this for for tattoos. When you get a tattoo, you can use this to keep the tattoo from scarring on you and make sure that it heals properly I have a military compass. I got this from the buddy of mine. Who’s in the military and I actually had to watch a YouTube video on how to use this thing. So some electrical tape, a couple bic lighters. That is the standard. What do they call these? The b-52 or whatever? The can openers of military can overs lifesavers um I had some Jolly Ranchers in here, and they melted because I keep this in the bed of my truck.

It’s under a cover, but it does get hot. The lifesavers I mean if you’re, if you’re having to walk home, let’s say, there’s a great down situation or something just a little bit of comfort. You know a little Swiss Army knife, some earplugs and then these are just extra pull poles for the zippers infinitum. All right on the side here, I keep my shread SCH f9 again. I’ll do another review of this thing, but this is a monster.

Look at the thickness of this blade. Was it insane I love this thing, I mean I, haven’t even really had a chance to use it yet, but forbit, awning and stuff like that man. This thing is going to be perfect and then I have a small fire kit down in the pouch on the front of this there’s just a small fire still with some magnesium and a hacksaw blade to light it off with all right, let’s get into the meat.

So this is my clothing. Section I have a pair of gloves that are warmer I. Have a life straw I have some flat dark earth, mechanics gloves a pair of five eleven. The TAC light Pro pants socks extra batteries- these are water purification tablets in here nothing back here, so you know when I first got into survival or prepping, like many of you, I went on YouTube or excuse me eBay and looked for survival kits so I bought this bear grylls survival.

Pouch I mean it has match waterproof matches in it, and fishing hooks and a sewing kit and a little limb saw in a Mylar blanket. So you know it’s not bad. I kept this in my truck for awhile I bought my wife, one actually I think I got her the bigger one. She has an almost identical bag by the way so got that in there, and that is it for this pouch. The batteries that I keep in here are relevant to the flashlights, or remember that I carry now before we go in to do the pouch.

Let’s see what we got in the side here. This is another Maxpedition pouch, a bag of ammo I think there’s 100 rounds there, another little flashlight, this one’s kind of cool I got it from a buddy in the military, and you can simply rotate the cap and get different, colors, blue and then white. It’s not the brightest thing, but if you don’t want to kill your night vision at night, while you’re reading a map or something perfect, some baby powder bug spray and there are some exacto blades and some alcohol wipes.

Alright. Now, let’s get into the real phone one thing: I love about this bag is that it expands and opens up like a big old pocket opens all the way up. So this is my fire kit. I’m, going to probably buy a Maxpedition I want something waterproof, though, so that it doesn’t get wet in the event that I get into some rain or something so for now. This is it’s not waterproof water-resistant. This is my fire.

I have dryer lint I. Have these little things full of magnesium shavings so that I can use those to get the fire hotter in wet conditions the storm matches? And then this is another fire still, and it has some other things as a whistle on it and a little button, compass and stuff like that. So you see some redundancy in here and if you’ve been prepping for any amount of time, you know that one is none and two is one so you’ll see, I have a lot of fire stills and fire making apparatuses I have a clean canteen, a stainless steel canteen that I can’t put on the fire.

I have a stainless steel cooking cup that I can also put on fire 100 feet of paracord. Here is my tourniquet, your military standard, military issue, tourniquet some gauze bandage and some ace bandages in case you get wounded, I’m not going to break this thing open, but well, I can I, just don’t want stuff to fall all over the place, but this is my medical first-aid kit and it is full of cold packs and mylar blankets and bandages, and I’ve got scissors in here like the of the medical scissor kits.

So this is for sunglasses. In the you know, I don’t want some glasses to get crushed, so I can keep them in something that’ll, protect them a little bit. You know this is kind of stuff when I first started, I picked it up. Just at your local army-navy store it’s survival poncho, it’s all that colons stuff fuel tablets. These are pretty cool, though I mean you light. One of these things, they’ll burn for a while, so there’s 24 of them in here I mean got it I work 30 miles from home, so if I had to get I work in downtown Atlanta, but if I had to get home, that should last me way more than enough time just to have some fires at night.

I have some quick cloud in here. It does have a water bladder in the back on this side, I have more mylar blankets, I have ziplock bags with a hefty contractor bag, also rolled up in them. Here’s the scissor and shear kit. It also has a little flashlight with it some soap and then just an extra. You know when you get shorts or pants at Abercrombie or American Eagle. They always come with these little belts and I always take these stupid things off, because this is not.

This is not a quality bill, but this could be used for a tourniquet. This could be used for something at your campsite. So that’s it. That is what is in my bag. I’ve been building this one for probably five or six months and I, keep adding to it and taking away, but that’s where I’m at so thanks for watching and I’ll talk to you soon.

So I’ve managed to get out backpacking about three times this year and a lot of the equipment I bought off Amazon and this backpack. It’s it’s almost empty right now, but it’s it’s called the Fox 5 200 bite, eatin, teat and sports, and it’s been a good backpack I, don’t know what to compare it to because I’ve never really had anything else. This is the first backpack I’ve ever owned, and it’s done the trick.

I like it and best of all it’s only 110 bucks on on Amazon 110, Canady, I’ve, 119 50 is the actual price and I’ve seen backpacks going as high as four and five hundred dollars. So, if you’re looking to get into overnight backpacking- and you don’t want to spend a ton of money, this backpack give it a try. Because I’ve gone out like I, said I’ve gone three times, I think the they’ve all just been one night overnight, backpacking trips, so you can’t get a huge amount of stuff in it, but for 120 bucks and you can’t go wrong so I’m at a place called Windy Ridge, Conservation Area.

It’s it’s part of the course of conservation and it’s like ten minutes from home. So it’s a great place to come to just film. Take pictures, there’s tons of pollinator plants here so there’s bugs there’s lots of lots of insects, lots of bees, but right now, I’m, I’m, filming on this teat and FoxPro. So it’s got lots of compartments. It’s got. It’s got a side.

Part compartment here, nice, deep side, compartment, another deep side, compartment here and like I said most of this is empty right now, there’s a compartment here for a water bottle. There’s a compartment down the back. This is my tank, so it slides nicely right down the back special compartment for that there’s, some special compartment for my sleeping bag that fits nicely in the bottom.

So again, Fox 5, 200 fight, eatin, might eat and Sports Fox, 5200 might eat, and sports I recommend this backpack for any new beginner and like I said all I have in here. Right now is is my tent in my sleeping bag, but there’s plenty of room here for clothes and food. It’s a nice deep, backpack I’ve had this thing up to 50 pounds and it’s worked just fine, so it’s got an adjustable bak in case.

You want to adjust that the tree right here is called the old homestead and it does have porcupines in it. We came out here last year with the dogs in the reduction at porcupine right here. So I have to be a little bit, be careful. They were just growling, so I don’t know if they smelt something, but there are porcupines in that tree all right.

Hi there everybody this is oscars from height match and in this review, we’ll check out the teton sports scout 3400 internal frame, backpack I’ve owned this pack for a few months now and so far, I’ve hiked, roughly 100 kilometers, with this pack or four full days of hiking. So this reveal will be basically based on those experiences. While I was hiking anyway, if you want to skip to a specific section in this video, you can pause the video right here and I’ll put the table of contents right over here.

My final verdict will be at the end of the video, so you can skip to that anyway without any further ado. Let’s get right into the review, so the teton sports scout 3400 is in a new pack. In fact, it’s been around for at least 10 years well from what I could find online. Yet as it stands today, it’s still the most popular internal frame, backpack at least on amazon.

So I wanted to purchase it and test it out in real life for myself to see whether it’s worth all the hype or not. In another video, I reviewed the teton sports explorer 4000, which is essentially very similar to this pack, just slightly larger. It weighs 300 grams more and it has a bunch of different packing features compared to the scout 3400. But when you look at the big picture, it’s basically the same pack, the same materials same everything just slightly different and slightly larger.

So, let’s begin by quickly covering all these specs on the scout 3400 in terms of weight, it weighs roughly around 2 kilograms. It’s a nice improvement from the explorer 4000, which weighs around 300 grams. More, however, and that’s a big, however, in the same price range, you can find similar internal frame, backpacks that weigh 2, 3 or sometimes even 500 grams.

Less. So, if you’re into ultralight hiking, the teton scout 3400 just won’t cut it in size. It’s 70 centimeters in height 40, centimeters in width and 30 centimeters in depth, depending on how much stuff you pack in there and what kind of stuff you’ll actually be bringing but generally you’ll, be able to pack around 55 liters of stuff inside which is 10 liters less compared to the explorer 4000.

Yet, from my own experience, I saw that the 55 liter scout 3400 is plenty enough for me on two day trips, there’s still a ton of room left inside if you’re, cautious about what you’re bringing. I think that the scout 3400 can fit even a week’s worth of stuff in there and now, let’s look at all the materials that teton has used for this pack. The orange part of the pack is made from a diamond pattern: 600d polyester and the rest from 600d oxford polyester.

These fabrics feel very thick and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll last for a really really long time. In fact, I’ve read a lot of reviews where people said that the fabric is still good after five or even more years. That’s the thing that I like about the teton sports explorer 4000 and the scout 3400 they’re, both built to last on the explorer 4000.

I noticed some loose stitching on the middle of the backpack. The good news is that I haven’t found anything similar on the scout. 3400 everything seems to be stitched together really well, but I do have to mention that these seams aren’t sealed, which means that they’ll, let through some water, also there’s a lot of loose threads dangling around all over the pack.

Nothing serious, but it looks like they just don’t go the extra mile on the production quality control as you’d see on more premium backpacks to test the water resistance on the scout, 3400 I’ll, pour some water on the fabric, wait for it to soak in for a few minutes and then I’ll check whether anything’s wet on the inside. I already did this test on the explorer 4000 and I was actually surprised to see that the fabric is very water resistant, but we’ll double check that right now, all right.

So the water has been there for over three minutes now now I’ll clean it up and see whether anything’s wet inside I’ll use. Some paper towels over here so from the outside, it looks like the fabric has soaked up a little bit of water inside over here. It’s completely dry, nothing’s wet, not a tiny bit, and this fabric seems a bit damp compared to this one, which is completely dry.

So this fabric is very good at resisting water. By the way, if it starts raining cats and dogs, you can always pull out the built-in rain cover which is accessible at the bottom of the pack. It covers the whole pack nicely, but if you attach a large sleeping mat on the outside, the cover might not fit anymore. So just keep that in mind. Continuing with the durable and thick fabrics, teton has also used very nice and beefy straps, buckles and zippers, which is a good thing.

If you are looking for something durable, although the buckles and zippers are unbranded, they do feel very well made, and so far I haven’t had any issues with them all the zippers open and close. Quite smoothly, except for the one at the bottom of the pack for the sleeping bag compartment, there’s a fabric cover on top of it, which sometimes gets stuck in the zipper, especially if the backpack is packed full.

I noticed this exact same issue with the explorer 4000, but now, let’s cover arguably the most important factor for any backpack the comfort from my own experiences. The scout 3400 feels very comfortable even under heavier loads, let’s start with the hip belt, so it’s adjustable between 72 and 155 centimeters in diameter or waist size, I’m about 86 centimeters in waist.

So for me it fits perfectly. The hip belt is very stiff and it’s nicely padded, which is great for keeping most of the weight on your hips, not your shoulders. The leftover straps can really be secured, so if you’re somewhat thin, like me at least I’d like to think that I’m somewhat thin you’ll have to deal with these trap ends dangling around a bit.

The hip belt can also be tightened on each side for bringing the backpack closer to your hips, which is great. What’s good about this scout 3400. Is that the torso length or the length between your shoulders and hips is adjustable between 38 and 50 centimeters, I’m roughly 45 centimeters in torso length, and I keep it on the largest setting. By the way when I received the pack, the torso length adjustment was looped only through four loops.

This made the shoulder straps move around a lot, so looping them through five loops instead fix the issue. Now. One thing that I don’t like about the shoulder straps is that when your back starts to sweat a bit, the shoulder straps start to make an annoying squeaking sound. Unfortunately, this issue also comes with the explorer 4000. It’s not a big issue for some people, but it’s a big issue for me personally, because I like to stay quiet when hiking, so that I can see some of the wildlife the squeaking sound, makes it much more harder to do.

If you want to remove the internal frame, you can do that. It’s connected to the exterior of the pack at the back, just open the two velcro clips and slide the aluminum rails out. If you do that, you can just throw the pack into a washing machine and now, let’s check out the interior of the scout 3400 at the bottom, there’s a sleeping bag compartment which unzips at the bottom and is divided from the rest of the interior.

The whole compartment feels a bit tight, but I was able to squeeze my winter sleeping bag in there. If you don’t want to use that compartment separately, you can unzip the divider in the middle and the whole interior turns into one giant. Compartment inside you’ll also find a large pocket for water bladders up to three liters in size, there’s also a hole on top of the back panel, which is meant for sliding the water bladder tube.

Through. Personally, I don’t use water bladder, so I can’t really tell you whether it’s a good system or not and finally, at the top there’s an enclosed pocket for all these smaller items. I usually keep my wallet, keys and electronics in there, because I don’t need to access them all the time and I don’t want them to accidentally fall out and finally, let’s go over the exterior features on the scout 3400.

Let’s start at the top on the top, and the middle you’ll find these tightening cords with which you can compress the bag if it is impactful or you can attach something to the pack with them, such as a rain jacket or something along those lines at the top, there’s also a large pocket for snacks and other items that you need to access quickly. It’s a fairly large bucket I’d say about three or five liters at the middle of the pack.

There’s a zippered mesh pocket which looks larger than it actually is. I usually keep my water filter and water pouches in there, but it’s a very tight fit at the bottom. There’s two compression straps and two loops for attaching a rope, a sleeping mat or something similar, there’s also these two tightening loops for attaching something else, such as ice picks and axe, or something along those lines at the sides.

The setup is identical on each side on the top there’s a fairly large pocket on the bottom, there’s a zippered mesh pocket for your water bottles and at the side there’s these two loops for your trekking poles. I do love the pockets, but the trekking pole loops are too far apart, which means that my expensive black diamond trekking poles can fall out and you don’t want that to happen.

Also, the water bottle pocket is too tight in my opinion, so it’s very hard to put a 750 milliliter bottle in there, especially when the bag is packed very full. If you’re hearing about teton sports for the first time well, honestly, you’re not alone, they aren’t as popular as some of the more known brands such as osprey, rey or zpax, but they aren’t that much underground either they’re an american brand which has been around since 2005 and they’ve, gotten a pretty good reputation for making affordable hiking gear.

That’s at the same time very durable. The scout 3400 comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It will cover manufacturing defects or defects in materials, but it won’t cover accidents, normal wear or misuse. Basically, it will cover only the most obvious defects, such as loose stitching, a faulty zipper missing, straps or other faulty hardware, and now, let’s get into my final verdict on the scout 3400, I think that it’s a very good choice for beginner hikers.

Now let me explain why it’s very affordable everything is made with strength and durability in mind, it’s built by a reliable brand, and this model has been around for basically a decade and has gotten mostly positive reviews. Yet it’s not meant for serious, long-distance hikers with the main reason being the weight and the size. When you start hiking more, you tend to upgrade your gear to something more lighter and more compact, so a 55 liter backpack that weighs 2 kilograms is just too large and too heavy you’ll probably get something closer to 40 liters and something that weighs half the weight of the scout 3400.

But for someone who is just getting their feet wet, it will be very hard to find something as durable and as comfortable in the same price range. So in that regard, the teton sports scout 3400 is an excellent choice. Perfect, just what I was looking for to has a great waist belt for when you do planks and push-ups, so the weights I load in it stay in place, better love. This thing pros stitching is rugged. Material feels durable, and my favorite is how buttery smooth the zippers are with all the moist and straps. This backpack will not let you down it’s a pretty good size bag, but not too wide, which is my preference aesthetically. It’s one hardcore. I love how the kaha backpack looks so I kept both cheers. This backpack has good reviews on the internet. I like it in general, but I still feel a little fragile compared to my 5 11 rush, I’ll put it to the test with a heavy load and update my review. This is a great backpack for hunting light bug out or family camping can easily fit a water bladder camel system into the backpack. Are nice options for expansion of the bag or compression the bag with the straps? There are nice molle options for attachments.

As you can see, morale patch option is a cool plus bag is not overly huge and, with compression can be fairly light or expands to a decent size, great material, great adjustability, six overall compartments, great back and side panel, padding very comfortable just wish it came with the water bladder. [Music] Let’s start by quickly going over the specs of the Teton sports explorer 4000 The numbers in the name stand for 4000 cubic inches or 65 liters, which is the total capacity of this backpack. I’d say that 65 liters is enough for three to seven-day hikes, even with winter camping gear, When, it’s packed to the brim, it measures at 32, inches or 80 centimeters in height 18, inches or 45 centimeters in width and 12 inches or 30 centimeters in depth.

I do have to say that this is a very large backpack, which should be enough for just about anything whether it’s wilderness, backpacking or section hiking In. My opinion, the largest downside to this backpack, is the weight Tn total it weighs 5 1 pounds or 2 3 kilograms. If you’ll be using it for a few nights in the wilderness.

That won’t be a big issue, but this backpack won’t be suitable for ultralight, long-distance hiking, The main reason why this backpack is so heavy is because it’s built from thick and very durable materials, Teton, clearly, values, durability and quality over weight, which is pretty good if you’ll be using it in the wilderness.

This backpack is made from 600d Oxford polyester, which explains why it’s so heavy The fabric, the zippers, the plastic elements, the straps. Everything feels very thick and very durable, It’s, clearly built for the backcountry, not ultralight, hiking Although they haven’t mentioned this. Specifically. The fabric seems to be pretty good at resisting water From, the inside.

It seems to be coated with some kind of a silicon or plastic coating that resists water In fact, let’s do a simple test: I’ll pour some water on the fabric, I’ll leave it on there for a few minutes and then let’s check, if anything’s wet on the inside [music] Okay. So it’s been on there for about two minutes. Now I’ll try to get all of the water off and then let’s see the results As you can see.

The fabric is a bit wet over here from the outside, but from the inside it feels completely dry Like. Nothing has gotten inside So. This material is waterproof or very, very water-resistant, In light rain. The contents of the backpack shouldn’t get too wet, but if it starts pouring you can use the built-in rain cover at the bottom of the pack.

You can access it by opening the velcro pocket at the bottom and pulling out the waterproof rain cover All around they’ve used very thick and very durable. Zippers I didn’t find any markings on the zipper, so I guess they’re unbranded, but they feel very durable, The zippers on the side. Pockets are also seem sealed, which is nice All of them open and close very smoothly, except for the one at the bottom of the pack When the backpack is packed full.

The zipper is hard to open because it seems to rub against the fabric And. Now, let’s talk about the seams All around it looks like they’ve done a pretty good job at the stitching However the seams aren’t sealed, which means that they’ll let through some water There, aren’t too many loose threads or production defects, except for one place.

In the middle of the pack. There seems to be a production defect where the fabric is improperly sewn together. If left, untreated, I think that it will start to tear apart after a while So I should either send it back to them for a repair or do the repairs myself Unfortunately. That’s something that you have to deal with when buying cheaper outdoor gear.

One thing that I like about this backpack, is that it’s very comfortable to wear I went on a three-day backpacking trip with it and I had about forty to fifty pounds of stuff in there counting food and water So. All in all, it was a pretty heavy load, as it was about thirty percent of my total body weight Because, the shoulder straps and the hip belt are all nicely padded at the end of the day, I didn’t have any bruises around my hips or at my shoulders.

Another thing that I like about this backpack, is that it’s very ventilated because of these airflow channels right here, My back still got wet around the hip belt, because there are no airflow channels there, but everywhere else it was kind of dry. The. Only thing that I don’t like about the padding is that it starts to make an annoying sound once it gets damp from all the sweat I’ll.

Try to demonstrate it right now, [fabrics rubbing against each other]. You can hear it only slightly right now, but whenever the backpack is packed full, it gets only louder and louder So if the bag is packed, full and you’ve already walked. A few miles you will have to bear with the annoying sound What I like about this backpack is that the hip belt is very robust and very thick This meant that I could carry most of the weight around my hips, not my shoulders.

Personally I’m about 36 inches in waist When I adjusted the hip belt tightly enough. One thing that I didn’t like is that the leftover straps were very long and there isn’t a specific way to secure them in one place. One hack, that I found is that you can slip those straps through these hip belt, tightening straps on each side.

That way, these long leftover, straps, aren’t dangling around anymore The torso length is fully adjustable On their website. It says that it’s adjustable from 19 to 23 inches, but in reality it’s less I, measured that in reality, it’s about 16 to 20, inches I’m, roughly 18 inches in torso length and I keep it on the second-largest setting.

Originally, the adjustable velcro strap was looped through four loops The issue. There was that these straps moved around too much so I looped them through five loops, and the issue was fixed. The, shoulder straps are adjustable down at the bottom and at the top There’s. Also a chest: strap that’s adjustable in height A, pro tip.

There is that if you are carrying much weight, adjust your hip out real tight and keep your shoulder and chest straps somewhat loosely That way. Most of the weight is balanced towards your legs, not shoulders And. Lastly, I wanted to talk about the internal frame. The frame is actually removable from the inside and it seems to be made from aluminum If.

At some point, the backpack gets dirty enough. You can remove both of the internal frame aluminum rails and just throw it into a washing machine. Now. Let’s talk about the storage of everything At the bottom there’s a dedicated compartment for your sleeping bag. I like this idea, because you’re supposed to put lighter gear towards the bottom of the backpack to balance everything out If.

However, you don’t want to use it as a separate compartment. You can unzip the divider in the middle and the main compartment turns into one giant 65-liter compartment There’s, another side pocket in the main compartment, which is meant for your water bladder and also a hole at the top for the water bladder tube to go through Personally I haven’t used it because I don’t like water, bladders At, the top there’s another smaller pocket for all the quick grab items such as snacks, your headlamp and something similar You can close the main compartment by tightening both adjustment straps on the top and securing everything with these two clips right here, And now, let’s check out the exterior of this backpack At, the top there’s one large pocket where I usually keep my wallet, sunglasses and other quick-grab items On top of it.

There are these two adjustment straps for attaching something like a sleeping mat or something similar On. Both sides you’ll find two fabric mesh pockets for your water bottles. One thing that I don’t like about them is that they’re too close to the side pockets. So it’s much harder to get these bottles out and put them back in if you’ve put something inside these pockets.

There are another three pockets on the sides: – two smaller ones on the right side and one larger one on the left side. If you want to. You can also put something long behind these pockets, such as an axe, a tripod, a trekking pole, a fishing rod or something similar In. The middle you’ll find a large fabric mesh pocket and towards the bottom, you’ll find two more adjustment: straps for attaching a sleeping mat or something similar If you carry extra carabiners.

You can also attach something to the bottom of the pack on various places in the middle of the pack and on both shoulder straps In terms of storage, I, really like how much pockets and other features the Teton Sports 4000 has to offer. Teton Sports is a well-known brand between backpackers They’re, an American company that makes affordable outdoor gear Of course.

They aren’t as good as Rei, Osprey and other larger companies, but their prices are much cheaper and their quality is pretty decent. The Teton Sports, Explorer 4000 comes with a limited lifetime. Warranty against materials and defects. This means that, for instance, the loose stitching that I have over here should, in theory, be covered by their warranty.

What. It doesn’t cover, though, is wear from normal use and misuse Also. The warranty is valid only for the first original owner of the pack. Personally I think that it’s very refreshing to see an affordable backpack with a limited lifetime warranty from a reliable brand Usually. All the affordable backpacks are made by unknown Chinese bands and their warranty usually isn’t any good And.

Now, let’s get into my final verdict on this pack, Let’s start with the pros, and there are a lot of them. The Teton, 4000, backpack is built from very thick and very durable materials. It also offers a ton of packing features, which means that you’ll be able to use it well beyond the 65 litre capacity by attaching a lot of stuff on the outside Another one is that it’s very comfortable to wear, especially the hip belt And.

Lastly, I, like the water resistance in the fabric and the rain fly cover that comes with this pack However, it’s not all bright and shiny, because this backpack has some negatives as well. First of all, it’s very heavy, which means that it’s a huge turnoff for the ultralight, backpackers Another thing that I kind of hate is that when the pack is full, it makes these annoying sounds from the fabrics rubbing against each other.

Another one is that the hip belt straps are very long, and if you aren’t like fat, then there isn’t a way to somehow shorten them And. Lastly, the zipper at the bottom is very hard to open and close when the pack is packed. Full So would I recommend the Teton Sports Explorer 4000? I, guess it depends on what kind of a backpacker you are If you’re doing long-distance hiking I’d suggest going with something lighter However.

If you’ll be going out in the wilderness for a few days or if you’ll be doing section hiking, then it will be hard to find something as durable as reliable and as versatile as the Teton Sports 4000 in the same price range For, beginner hikers. This backpack right here is one of the best options for 65 litre, backpacks If.

Hey guys, you tell Steve here and today, I want to talk about a backpack, a specific one. They Explorer 4 000 from Teton sports. This is a great pack. You’ve, probably seen it some of my other videos, you we’re gonna, go into detail about it and some of the likes and dislikes any problems I’ve had with it, taking it out in the backcountry that kind of thing. This is a heavier pack. It’s not a lightweight or ultra light setup, but it’s an affordable option.

If you’re tight on cash like I, am this weighs about just shy of five pounds empty, of course empty, but just shy of five pounds: I’m, not sure what the weight said on Amazon. It seemed like it was less than that, but we’re looking at four pounds: 13 ounces. So let’s go ahead and take a closer look at it and I’ll. Tell you some of my thoughts after using this for the past year and a half here’s some specs on the Explorer 4 000 from Teton sports.

We’re looking at this is the metallic gray. It also comes in navy. Blue retail price is one $29 99 I paid 75 bucks on Amazon and that’s an ongoing price. That seems there is a navy blue version that will run you a bit more. You pay for the color I guess so it is a 65 liter, backpack 4000 cubic inches. The weight on the tag actually says 5 pounds, so it’s pretty accurate according to the tag that it came with, and it’s made of 600 d rip stop and 600d polyester material.

So let’s go ahead and take a look. You have this little outside mesh pocket for maps and anything you need that’s smaller that can easily access one problem I had with this is when my pack is really full it’s hard to get anything in there really I just fit. Maybe plastic baggies a garbage bag, tin, foil stuff, like that in there, of course, a map. If you need it, it has two good size, pockets on one side and one large one. On the other side, this holds my entire cook pot.

It’s a pretty good size down. Here we have a spot for the sleeping bag. It zips open so that you can access it. You can either on the inside there’s a zipped portion that will separate your sleeping bag from the rest of your gear or you can unzip it and make it one big open compartment. So that’s kind of handy depending on what your needs are up here. Looking inside, we have a double layer: protective bag, basically I’m, there’s an inner layer that you pull tight with the cord.

As you can see, you pull the cord tight tuck that in and then pull the outer layer over the cord tight and then the top. This comes up over like that. The top portion has a pocket underneath a very good-sized one, as well as one on top right here about the same size. One problem I’ve had is, if I feel both of these pockets and I’m full of gear as well. I have a hard time getting this to strap down, so usually I, just put it all in the top and don’t put a whole lot in the bottom.

If I don’t have to it has a hydration sleeve hydration sleeve is down here. I, don’t know! If you can see in there, but probably not that’s the hydration sleeve, this is a piece of velcro to hold up your hydration bladder, then using the tube right underneath the velcro through here, and it comes out right back here- comes out right back here at the back of the pack, and you can feed it to either side depending on which side you prefer it on now.

As for the straps they’re very comfortably padded I’d, say they’re, not super plush, but they’re. Alright, this little pouch I added on and I carried my pepper spray. In this. This comes from a Swiss backpack that I had very comfortable padding in the lumbar area. These are great around the waist. It fits great as you can see, you can adjust the height depending on your size, you’re just unbell, throw this slide it to large, medium or small and you’re good to go, or is it medium large and extra-large I’ll put it on that screen.

This is also my little temperature gauge, as you can see, fall has arrived, not even at 50 degrees about quite a bit of strategy to hang things from or put them on the outside of your pack. If that’s what you want to do, it has these little carabiner or pole holders. Here it has ice axe holders here and one cool feature that this has that I really like is down here, as you can see, I’ve only used this a couple of times and the only problem I’ve had with it is.

If you have gear on the outside of your pack, it has a hard time covering it. It’s mostly made just to fit the pack exactly. It would be nice if it was a little bigger, a little more expandable to cover any gear that you might have on the outside of your pack. It’s a really cool feature. You don’t have to buy a separate pack cover. It comes with it, so even more bang for your buck on the lumbar are the waist straps they’re. Also, these side pieces that you can hang things from just many many options on this pack.

For 75 bucks, it’s well worth of money. I did have one of the large buckles here break off when I first got it, but it was easily repaired with a $2 00 part from Walmart. So not a big deal anyway. That’s that’s the t-tom sports explorer 4004. You you’ll pay about 75 bucks on amazon. I’ve used this for about a year and a half. This has now become my fall winter spring pack when the weather is colder and any des carrying more gear, I’ll be changing to mid weight and lightweight packs for dip varying seasons.

Hi there everybody this is oscars from height match and in this review, we’ll check out the teton sports scout 3400 internal frame, backpack I’ve owned this pack for a few months now and so far, I’ve hiked, roughly 100 kilometers, with this pack or four full days of hiking. So this reveal will be basically based on those experiences. While I was hiking anyway, if you want to skip to a specific section in this video, you can pause the video right here and I’ll put the table of contents right over here.

My final verdict will be at the end of the video, so you can skip to that anyway without any further ado. Let’s get right into the review, so the teton sports scout 3400 is in a new pack. In fact, it’s been around for at least 10 years well from what I could find online. Yet as it stands today, it’s still the most popular internal frame, backpack at least on amazon. So I wanted to purchase it and test it out in real life for myself to see whether it’s worth all the hype or not.

In another video, I reviewed the teton sports explorer 4000, which is essentially very similar to this pack, just slightly larger. It weighs 300 grams more and it has a bunch of different packing features compared to the scout 3400. But when you look at the big picture, it’s basically the same pack, the same materials same everything just slightly different and slightly larger. So, let’s begin by quickly covering all these specs on the scout 3400 in terms of weight, it weighs roughly around 2 kilograms.

It’s a nice improvement from the explorer 4000, which weighs around 300 grams. More, however, and that’s a big, however, in the same price range, you can find similar internal frame, backpacks that weigh 2, 3 or sometimes even 500 grams. Less. So, if you’re into ultralight hiking, the teton scout 3400 just won’t cut it in size. It’s 70 centimeters in height 40, centimeters in width and 30 centimeters in depth, depending on how much stuff you pack in there and what kind of stuff you’ll actually be bringing but generally you’ll, be able to pack around 55 liters of stuff inside which is 10 liters less compared to the explorer 4000.

Yet, from my own experience, I saw that the 55 liter scout 3400 is plenty enough for me on two day trips, there’s still a ton of room left inside if you’re, cautious about what you’re bringing. I think that the scout 3400 can fit even a week’s worth of stuff in there and now, let’s look at all the materials that teton has used for this pack. The orange part of the pack is made from a diamond pattern: 600d polyester and the rest from 600d oxford polyester.

These fabrics feel very thick and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll last for a really really long time. In fact, I’ve read a lot of reviews where people said that the fabric is still good after five or even more years. That’s the thing that I like about the teton sports explorer 4000 and the scout 3400 they’re, both built to last on the explorer 4000. I noticed some loose stitching on the middle of the backpack. The good news is that I haven’t found anything similar on the scout.

3400 everything seems to be stitched together really well, but I do have to mention that these seams aren’t sealed, which means that they’ll, let through some water, also there’s a lot of loose threads dangling around all over the pack. Nothing serious, but it looks like they just don’t go the extra mile on the production quality control as you’d see on more premium backpacks to test the water resistance on the scout, 3400 I’ll, pour some water on the fabric, wait for it to soak in for a few minutes and then I’ll check whether anything’s wet on the inside.

I already did this test on the explorer 4000 and I was actually surprised to see that the fabric is very water resistant, but we’ll double check that right now, all right. So the water has been there for over three minutes now now I’ll clean it up and see whether anything’s wet inside I’ll use. Some paper towels over here so from the outside, it looks like the fabric has soaked up a little bit of water inside over here. It’s completely dry, nothing’s wet, not a tiny bit, and this fabric seems a bit damp compared to this one, which is completely dry.

So this fabric is very good at resisting water. By the way, if it starts raining cats and dogs, you can always pull out the built-in rain cover which is accessible at the bottom of the pack. It covers the whole pack nicely, but if you attach a large sleeping mat on the outside, the cover might not fit anymore. So just keep that in mind. Continuing with the durable and thick fabrics, teton has also used very nice and beefy straps, buckles and zippers, which is a good thing.

If you are looking for something durable, although the buckles and zippers are unbranded, they do feel very well made, and so far I haven’t had any issues with them all the zippers open and close. Quite smoothly, except for the one at the bottom of the pack for the sleeping bag compartment, there’s a fabric cover on top of it, which sometimes gets stuck in the zipper, especially if the backpack is packed full. I noticed this exact same issue with the explorer 4000, but now, let’s cover arguably the most important factor for any backpack the comfort from my own experiences.

The scout 3400 feels very comfortable even under heavier loads, let’s start with the hip belt, so it’s adjustable between 72 and 155 centimeters in diameter or waist size, I’m about 86 centimeters in waist. So for me it fits perfectly. The hip belt is very stiff and it’s nicely padded, which is great for keeping most of the weight on your hips, not your shoulders. The leftover straps can really be secured, so if you’re somewhat thin, like me at least I’d like to think that I’m somewhat thin you’ll have to deal with these trap ends dangling around a bit.

The hip belt can also be tightened on each side for bringing the backpack closer to your hips, which is great. What’s good about this scout 3400. Is that the torso length or the length between your shoulders and hips is adjustable between 38 and 50 centimeters, I’m roughly 45 centimeters in torso length, and I keep it on the largest setting. By the way when I received the pack, the torso length adjustment was looped only through four loops. This made the shoulder straps move around a lot, so looping them through five loops instead fix the issue.

Now. One thing that I don’t like about the shoulder straps is that when your back starts to sweat a bit, the shoulder straps start to make an annoying squeaking sound. Unfortunately, this issue also comes with the explorer 4000. It’s not a big issue for some people, but it’s a big issue for me personally, because I like to stay quiet when hiking, so that I can see some of the wildlife the squeaking sound, makes it much more harder to do. If you want to remove the internal frame, you can do that.

It’s connected to the exterior of the pack at the back, just open the two velcro clips and slide the aluminum rails out. If you do that, you can just throw the pack into a washing machine and now, let’s check out the interior of the scout 3400 at the bottom, there’s a sleeping bag compartment which unzips at the bottom and is divided from the rest of the interior. The whole compartment feels a bit tight, but I was able to squeeze my winter sleeping bag in there.

If you don’t want to use that compartment separately, you can unzip the divider in the middle and the whole interior turns into one giant. Compartment inside you’ll also find a large pocket for water bladders up to three liters in size, there’s also a hole on top of the back panel, which is meant for sliding the water bladder tube. Through. Personally, I don’t use water bladder, so I can’t really tell you whether it’s a good system or not and finally, at the top there’s an enclosed pocket for all these smaller items.

I usually keep my wallet, keys and electronics in there, because I don’t need to access them all the time and I don’t want them to accidentally fall out and finally, let’s go over the exterior features on the scout 3400. Let’s start at the top on the top, and the middle you’ll find these tightening cords with which you can compress the bag if it is impactful or you can attach something to the pack with them, such as a rain jacket or something along those lines at the top, there’s also a large pocket for snacks and other items that you need to access quickly.

It’s a fairly large bucket I’d say about three or five liters at the middle of the pack. There’s a zippered mesh pocket which looks larger than it actually is. I usually keep my water filter and water pouches in there, but it’s a very tight fit at the bottom. There’s two compression straps and two loops for attaching a rope, a sleeping mat or something similar, there’s also these two tightening loops for attaching something else, such as ice picks and axe, or something along those lines at the sides.

The setup is identical on each side on the top there’s a fairly large pocket on the bottom, there’s a zippered mesh pocket for your water bottles and at the side there’s these two loops for your trekking poles. I do love the pockets, but the trekking pole loops are too far apart, which means that my expensive black diamond trekking poles can fall out and you don’t want that to happen. Also, the water bottle pocket is too tight in my opinion, so it’s very hard to put a 750 milliliter bottle in there, especially when the bag is packed very full.

If you’re hearing about teton sports for the first time well, honestly, you’re not alone, they aren’t as popular as some of the more known brands such as osprey, rey or zpax, but they aren’t that much underground either they’re an american brand which has been around since 2005 and they’ve, gotten a pretty good reputation for making affordable hiking gear. That’s at the same time very durable. The scout 3400 comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It will cover manufacturing defects or defects in materials, but it won’t cover accidents, normal wear or misuse.

Hey there Amazon today, I’m going to first and foremost these hip pouch pockets. I love these hip pouch pockets, I have much more expensive backpacks and they don’t Hallie’s, always have them. It’s frustrating anyway. Let’s take this off and we’ll dive right. In now note I am a medium built. Someone on the heavy side, sometimes 511 and I, am a medium on the Gregory and also the Osprey. Now this is a little bit on the smaller size and with the right amount of adjustment you can get by you know, being my size, I would recommend it for a bit shorter.

Definitely go for this you’re a bit taller. Maybe not that’s! Just in my experience. You know everyone could just differently now. This is not something I would recommend putting a ton of weight into, because this does not have an internal frame. This is a daypack and I. Pretty much was able to pack my essentials. I have my backpacking chair, I, have my tent a second of my heavier tents. Get the job done and I have my inflatable sleeping pad love.

That thing now on. The bottom has a separate apart, which you can also open up, so it just you know, becomes a one big backpack. The bottom is reserved for your sleeping bag. In fact, lately I fall in love with this particular sleeping bag. It’s down filled. It was very inexpensive and of all places, I got it from Walmart yeah, we’ll just leave it at that. It was actually really good buy anyway. Moving on to the padding I am most impressed by the padding on the shoulders and actually all over this backpack, the back has it the hip pouches.

Have it there. You go my favorite pockets against the hip pocket and the pouch yeah there’s padding all throughout this thing. It’s not you know some superior super technology, blah blah blah from some top name-brand. No, it’s thick it’s plush and it’s definitely supportive and that’s kind of what you would want to look for in an expensive day. Pack like this now the material show them very, very strong. It’s a rip, stop and I poke that I product, it’s the job done top, has a brain at the top part, because you can see I can open it from the inside.

You don’t put all these little accessible in there. The opening is big enough and let’s take a look at the bottom and right here we have. The rain cover it’s secured by a zipper open that up and there it is I live in Southern California, so I am never ever gonna use this thing. So let’s just put that back, but if you’re somewhere wet hey, maybe having this super cool tag, letting you know that a rain cover located here might come in handy yeah anyway in Southern California.

Not so much now check this out. These loops I do live in part of Southern California, where it does snow for a little bit of time and I like to go ice hiking. So if you’re, a backpacker are looking for a new hiking backpack, if you’re gonna be going on some longer adventures up to four or five six days, maybe even a week this 55 liter backpack is gonna handle all of your long-term backpacking needs, first of all, you’re getting 55 litres capacity, so you’re able to pack quite a bit down into this pack.

There’s a ton of different storage compartments pockets on the front pockets on the side, but you’re gonna handle all of your kind of smaller need to be some extra separation. Then you got the top-loading backpack part where you get again a lot of capacity to hold a lot of different stuff. You get this pocket up here at the top for some extra space to be the handle more of your essentials or stuff.

You want to separate it out of your main load. Then, of course you get these straps down here at the bottom, which will hold your sleeping bag, your sleeping pad. It’s gonna give you a nice coverage here when the pack is fully on give you some nice leverage with the hip straps. It feels totally comfortable. They don’t at all feel like they’re digging into your sides again the straps up here, and then you get this buckle across the chest for some extra leverage challenge.

Hi there everybody this is oscars from height match and in this review, we’ll check out the teton sports scout 3400 internal frame, backpack I’ve owned this pack for a few months now and so far, I’ve hiked, roughly 100 kilometers, with this pack or four full days of hiking. So this reveal will be basically based on those experiences. While I was hiking anyway, if you want to skip to a specific section in this video, you can pause the video right here and I’ll put the table of contents right over here.

My final verdict will be at the end of the video, so you can skip to that anyway without any further ado. Let’s get right into the review, so the teton sports scout 3400 is in a new pack. In fact, it’s been around for at least 10 years well from what I could find online. Yet as it stands today, it’s still the most popular internal frame, backpack at least on amazon. So I wanted to purchase it and test it out in real life for myself to see whether it’s worth all the hype or not.

In another video, I reviewed the teton sports explorer 4000, which is essentially very similar to this pack, just slightly larger. It weighs 300 grams more and it has a bunch of different packing features compared to the scout 3400. But when you look at the big picture, it’s basically the same pack, the same materials same everything just slightly different and slightly larger. So, let’s begin by quickly covering all these specs on the scout 3400 in terms of weight, it weighs roughly around 2 kilograms.

It’s a nice improvement from the explorer 4000, which weighs around 300 grams. More, however, and that’s a big, however, in the same price range, you can find similar internal frame, backpacks that weigh 2, 3 or sometimes even 500 grams. Less. So, if you’re into ultralight hiking, the teton scout 3400 just won’t cut it in size. It’s 70 centimeters in height 40, centimeters in width and 30 centimeters in depth, depending on how much stuff you pack in there and what kind of stuff you’ll actually be bringing but generally you’ll, be able to pack around 55 liters of stuff inside which is 10 liters less compared to the explorer 4000.

Yet, from my own experience, I saw that the 55 liter scout 3400 is plenty enough for me on two day trips, there’s still a ton of room left inside if you’re, cautious about what you’re bringing. I think that the scout 3400 can fit even a week’s worth of stuff in there and now, let’s look at all the materials that teton has used for this pack. The orange part of the pack is made from a diamond pattern: 600d polyester and the rest from 600d oxford polyester.

These fabrics feel very thick and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll last for a really really long time. In fact, I’ve read a lot of reviews where people said that the fabric is still good after five or even more years. That’s the thing that I like about the teton sports explorer 4000 and the scout 3400 they’re, both built to last on the explorer 4000. I noticed some loose stitching on the middle of the backpack. The good news is that I haven’t found anything similar on the scout.

3400 everything seems to be stitched together really well, but I do have to mention that these seams aren’t sealed, which means that they’ll, let through some water, also there’s a lot of loose threads dangling around all over the pack. Nothing serious, but it looks like they just don’t go the extra mile on the production quality control as you’d see on more premium backpacks to test the water resistance on the scout, 3400 I’ll, pour some water on the fabric, wait for it to soak in for a few minutes and then I’ll check whether anything’s wet on the inside.

I already did this test on the explorer 4000 and I was actually surprised to see that the fabric is very water resistant, but we’ll double check that right now, all right. So the water has been there for over three minutes now now I’ll clean it up and see whether anything’s wet inside I’ll use. Some paper towels over here so from the outside, it looks like the fabric has soaked up a little bit of water inside over here. It’s completely dry, nothing’s wet, not a tiny bit, and this fabric seems a bit damp compared to this one, which is completely dry.

So this fabric is very good at resisting water. By the way, if it starts raining cats and dogs, you can always pull out the built-in rain cover which is accessible at the bottom of the pack. It covers the whole pack nicely, but if you attach a large sleeping mat on the outside, the cover might not fit anymore. So just keep that in mind. Continuing with the durable and thick fabrics, teton has also used very nice and beefy straps, buckles and zippers, which is a good thing.

If you are looking for something durable, although the buckles and zippers are unbranded, they do feel very well made, and so far I haven’t had any issues with them all the zippers open and close. Quite smoothly, except for the one at the bottom of the pack for the sleeping bag compartment, there’s a fabric cover on top of it, which sometimes gets stuck in the zipper, especially if the backpack is packed full. I noticed this exact same issue with the explorer 4000, but now, let’s cover arguably the most important factor for any backpack the comfort from my own experiences.

The scout 3400 feels very comfortable even under heavier loads, let’s start with the hip belt, so it’s adjustable between 72 and 155 centimeters in diameter or waist size, I’m about 86 centimeters in waist. So for me it fits perfectly. The hip belt is very stiff and it’s nicely padded, which is great for keeping most of the weight on your hips, not your shoulders. The leftover straps can really be secured, so if you’re somewhat thin, like me at least I’d like to think that I’m somewhat thin you’ll have to deal with these trap ends dangling around a bit.

The hip belt can also be tightened on each side for bringing the backpack closer to your hips, which is great. What’s good about this scout 3400. Is that the torso length or the length between your shoulders and hips is adjustable between 38 and 50 centimeters, I’m roughly 45 centimeters in torso length, and I keep it on the largest setting. By the way when I received the pack, the torso length adjustment was looped only through four loops. This made the shoulder straps move around a lot, so looping them through five loops instead fix the issue.

Now. One thing that I don’t like about the shoulder straps is that when your back starts to sweat a bit, the shoulder straps start to make an annoying squeaking sound. Unfortunately, this issue also comes with the explorer 4000. It’s not a big issue for some people, but it’s a big issue for me personally, because I like to stay quiet when hiking, so that I can see some of the wildlife the squeaking sound, makes it much more harder to do. If you want to remove the internal frame, you can do that.

It’s connected to the exterior of the pack at the back, just open the two velcro clips and slide the aluminum rails out. If you do that, you can just throw the pack into a washing machine and now, let’s check out the interior of the scout 3400 at the bottom, there’s a sleeping bag compartment which unzips at the bottom and is divided from the rest of the interior. The whole compartment feels a bit tight, but I was able to squeeze my winter sleeping bag in there.

If you don’t want to use that compartment separately, you can unzip the divider in the middle and the whole interior turns into one giant. Compartment inside you’ll also find a large pocket for water bladders up to three liters in size, there’s also a hole on top of the back panel, which is meant for sliding the water bladder tube. Through. Personally, I don’t use water bladder, so I can’t really tell you whether it’s a good system or not and finally, at the top there’s an enclosed pocket for all these smaller items.

I usually keep my wallet, keys and electronics in there, because I don’t need to access them all the time and I don’t want them to accidentally fall out and finally, let’s go over the exterior features on the scout 3400. Let’s start at the top on the top, and the middle you’ll find these tightening cords with which you can compress the bag if it is impactful or you can attach something to the pack with them, such as a rain jacket or something along those lines at the top, there’s also a large pocket for snacks and other items that you need to access quickly.

It’s a fairly large bucket I’d say about three or five liters at the middle of the pack. There’s a zippered mesh pocket which looks larger than it actually is. I usually keep my water filter and water pouches in there, but it’s a very tight fit at the bottom. There’s two compression straps and two loops for attaching a rope, a sleeping mat or something similar, there’s also these two tightening loops for attaching something else, such as ice picks and axe, or something along those lines at the sides.

The setup is identical on each side on the top there’s a fairly large pocket on the bottom, there’s a zippered mesh pocket for your water bottles and at the side there’s these two loops for your trekking poles. I do love the pockets, but the trekking pole loops are too far apart, which means that my expensive black diamond trekking poles can fall out and you don’t want that to happen. Also, the water bottle pocket is too tight in my opinion, so it’s very hard to put a 750 milliliter bottle in there, especially when the bag is packed very full.

If you’re hearing about teton sports for the first time well, honestly, you’re not alone, they aren’t as popular as some of the more known brands such as osprey, rey or zpax, but they aren’t that much underground either they’re an american brand which has been around since 2005 and they’ve, gotten a pretty good reputation for making affordable hiking gear. That’s at the same time very durable. The scout 3400 comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

It will cover manufacturing defects or defects in materials, but it won’t cover accidents, normal wear or misuse. So I’ve managed to get out backpacking about three times this year and a lot of the equipment I bought off Amazon and this backpack. It’s it’s almost empty right now, but it’s it’s called the Fox 5 200 bite, eatin, teat and sports, and it’s been a good backpack I, don’t know what to compare it to because I’ve never really had anything else. This is the first backpack I’ve ever owned, and it’s done the trick.

I like it and best of all it’s only 110 bucks on on Amazon 110, Canady, I’ve, 119 50 is the actual price and I’ve seen backpacks going as high as four and five hundred dollars. So, if you’re looking to get into overnight backpacking- and you don’t want to spend a ton of money, this backpack give it a try. Because I’ve gone out like I, said I’ve gone three times, I think the they’ve all just been one night overnight, backpacking trips, so you can’t get a huge amount of stuff in it, but for 120 bucks and you can’t go wrong so I’m at a place called Windy Ridge, Conservation Area.

It’s it’s part of the course of conservation and it’s like ten minutes from home. So it’s a great place to come to just film. Take pictures, there’s tons of pollinator plants here so there’s bugs there’s lots of lots of insects, lots of bees, but right now, I’m, I’m, filming on this teat and FoxPro. So it’s got lots of compartments. It’s got. It’s got a side. Part compartment here, nice, deep side, compartment, another deep side, compartment here and like I said most of this is empty right now, there’s a compartment here for a water bottle.

There’s a compartment down the back. This is my tank, so it slides nicely right down the back special compartment for that there’s, some special compartment for my sleeping bag that fits nicely in the bottom. So again, Fox 5, 200 fight, eatin, might eat and Sports Fox, 5200 might eat, and sports I recommend this backpack for any new beginner and like I said all I have in here. Right now is is my tent in my sleeping bag, but there’s plenty of room here for clothes and food.

It’s a nice deep, backpack I’ve had this thing up to 50 pounds and it’s worked just fine, so it’s got an adjustable bak in case. You want to adjust that the tree right here is called the old homestead and it does have porcupines in it. We came out here last year with the dogs in the reduction at porcupine right here. So I have to be a little bit, be careful. They were just growling, so I don’t know if they smelt something, but there are porcupines in that tree all right.
