You have two very stretchy meshes pockets big enough to accommodate any size water. Bottle I’ve got a 32 ounce water bottle. In there and it fits well you’ve even got a compression strap on the front so you can compress that down and if you’re. Just going on an overnight or a short trip you’ve got compression straps all over this pack to make the load a little bit smaller you have a full-size lid here. And you can store lots of gear in there so then that gives you access into the. Body of the pack there’s even a small hidden pocket back here and that’s a. Great feature for travel you’ve got really easy access into the top of the pack with a nice big opening that’s. Really easy to use and i found that this. Pull handle is really nice as well so there’re little attentions to detail make. A big difference it’s all the access you need into that big pocket then you do. Have access in a couple more areas so. Something i really appreciate about this pack you have a nice big u-shaped zipper. Here where you can access all the gear. That you need that’s in the middle of your pack it’s tucked away back here so. It doesn’t add a lot of weight to the pack but as you can see i can open that. Up nice and wide almost like a piece of luggage and get to all the gear that’s in the middle of the pack so i can grab for whatever i need if you’re traveling. With this pack taking it overseas you can use it like that so really nice almost hidden pocket there. And then down on the bottom you have access into a sleeping bag compartment down there these zipper poles are so. Easy to use, and they make it nice and easy to get to the bottom now there is a. Divider in between the bottom and the. Middle of the pack but you can tuck that away if you need full access into the whole pack now also behind the scenes there is a. Hidden rain cover the rain cover is. Custom fit for the pack and it’s in its own designated pocket right here so rain cover matches the pack and it. Adds a lot of value so you don’t have to purchase a separate rain cover in the. Front a nice stretchy dump pocket too and then as you can see all over the. Front of this pack you’ve got two loops you’ve got straps here that you can. Attach a sleeping pad this is actually removable and you’ve got trekking pole bungees up here so there’s plenty of. Features here you can use this pack in a lot of different ways but all of those. Hey everybody this is Jackie from the budget-minded travelers comm and i want to take a few minutes to show you today why i love my Gregory jade 50 backpacks so much and why i would recommend it for you as your go-to travel backpack but. First of all if you haven’t watched my how to choose the right travel backpack video i recommend that you watch that one so that you can understand what we’re getting into today I’m going to be talking about the three c’s comfort capacity and convenience alright allow. Me to introduce you to my go to travel backpack the Gregory jade 50 it’s a. Women’s size small for my torso and the. Number 50 is the pack capacity in litres why is this important three reasons. Number one the fact that it’s a size. Small is not only great for fitting my torso perfectly but it’s a bonus because. Check this out oh whoa thanks okay this. Backpack is about 20 to 21 inches that. Makes it small enough to carry on which is really important to me because i prefer to carry on whenever possible the. Second reason the 50 is perfect for me is that it’s small enough so that it discourages me from over packing yet. It’s still big enough to fit everything that i need and the third reason is that. It seems to be the perfect size for any length of trip that i take i can take it. For weeks or months it always seems to be the perfect size for me and now we’ll talk about comfort look closely at the. Frame of this backpack it’s actually shaped against the curve of my back. There’s lumbar support at the bottom and there’s shoulder support at the top and. The frame never actually touches my back. So when a backpack fits right all the. Weight should be right on your hips and this should be fastened just above your hip bone so once i get all the straps at. Just the right length I’m actually really comfortable and i actually hiked machu picchu with this backpack for three days straight and i didn’t have any problems with being sore i also packed like so keep that in mind all right on the convenience it’s. Important to look at the pockets straps zippers and extra flair that the backpack has so starting at the top. There’s one right across the top here which i like for two reasons on it. Makes a convenient spot to put things that I’ll need to access a lot like sunglasses passport wallet hotel keys. There’s even a strap on the inside here. For your keys so that they’ll keep them in a convenient spot and the second. Think i like about this specific zipper is that the zipper is actually tucked in pretty close to my body so that when I’m wearing it’s harder for a thief to. Get to and if you notice right here i. Actually keep a safety pin right there on that loop and that way i can safety. Pin the loop to the strap and it creates a lock on the zipper so i wouldn’t have to worry about people trying to get into it anyway alright moving on if you open. It up you’ll see that on the inside i. Don’t know if you could see this from there, but we’ll try there’s a pocket. Right against the back here i don’t know if you can see it but it fits documents. I always put my flight reservations and important things extra stash of money right there in that pocket because it’s almost hidden and the rest of it is just a big open space I’ve actually got a pillow stuffed in there right now to show you and then on the outside the. First thing that you’ll notice is this big bulky pouch and what i love about. This is that i actually use it to put my. Shoes in and you’ll see that I’ve got some shoes in it right here this is a. Very versatile pouch for anything that’s. Bulky shaped or maybe muddy i put muddy shoes muddy clothes in here all the time. So that’s a great spot for any kind of. Shoes and then on the outside of this there’s a long vertical pouch and this. Is actually pretty big this is where i keep my flip-flops because it seems to be the perfect size pocket for a flat pair of flip-flops and then on each side there are these. Adjustable pockets right here which you could also put shoes in or water bottles. There’s a velcro if you’re not going to use it and there’s also a strap right here that you could put around the top of a water bottle or the end of a shoe to hold it in there and that’s on both. Sides of this backpack there’s also on. The very bottom besides the mud there’re some straps here. You could put something long shaped in. This so like when i take this backpacking in the summer camping that’s. Where i put my sleeping pad because it’s a long awkward shape and it doesn’t even then have to go into my backpack it just goes right on the bottom and the last. Think and probably the most important is. This side pocket right here this piece. Of magic allows me to be able to reach. At the bottom of my backpack without having to take everything out through the top every time when i need something that’s packed deep and i almost forgot. Right here on the sides of the hip straps there’s two more little pockets that are perfect for chapstick they even fit a little point-and-shoot camera and anything that you need to keep convenient with you while you’re wearing your backpack those are great pockets for that and there’s one more see that i. Didn’t talk about with this backpack and that’s cost and that’s another reason why i love this backpack i actually went. To rei to get fitted for this backpack they had a blue one in the store and once i decided the best the backpack i really wanted i went to the rei outlet and i found this one which is even more perfect for me because my favorite color is red this backpack cost me a hundred. What’s up guys peter here from reviews. On anything and in this video we’re looking at climbing shoes not your everyday topic but very interesting these are the last 45 tarantula. Shoes in kiwi color i kid you not and. They are designed for climbing obviously this is an all-round climbing shoe that functions well on plastic so when you’re climbing on indoor climbing hole but also well on rock when your bouldering or doing outdoor climbing set you back. Around 70 to 90 bucks depending on where. You buy them and if you can find a good deal online and there are a good sorts of. Media spectacles climbing shoe the top. Is made of leather and as you can tell by the straps already this is a shoe that’s designed to be tight when you’re buying a climbing shoe you really want it to be an extension of your foot because you can imagine obviously when you’re climbing you really want to be well in touch with all your connection. Points to the wall that you’re climbing actually so these shoes are meant to be. Tight and that’s right then of all these loops on them so you can actually pull. Then in place properly obviously it. Should be so tight that it restricts blood flow to your foot this is size 42. For me which is very snug there’s like. Hardly any room left for my toes but. Since it’s leather it’ll wear in a. Little bit and actually bombing in for a few times it becomes more comfortable but definitely climbing shoes unless. You’re familiar with the brand and the sizing don’t buy him online on seeing on. Try it really go to a store put them on see how. They feel maybe even take it for a test climb if that’s possible to make sure you have the proper fit because there’s nothing worse obviously than being halfway up a boulder and realizing that your shoes too tight and you can’t continue that’s a not a nice situation. Now you can open these shoes up pretty. Much all the way like so to make sure. You know that you can get your foot in. Properly and get it adjusted so that the. Desired titus is right for you which is. Great then we move to the business end. Of the which is obviously sole because this is. The part you’re going to use to grip on any kind of climbing wall now it’s made. Of something, they call friction rubber which according to them works really well on both plastics on inner climbing. And outdoor which is great that means you can use it around any way you want really the sole. Is one point eight millimeters thick which means it’s not a very aggressive. Shoe you know there’s a bit of flex in it obviously but it’s you know a very. Solid platform to stand on so if you’re a climber that wants to you know fully flex his foot and bend it in all kinds. Of shapes this probably not to shoot for you because the soul is just too thick and a bit too stiff for that but with extra cutting here around the tone extra. Cutting here around the heel it’s a shoe that’s fits very well in pretty much any kind of environment and i personally like shoes like this that are a little. Less aggressive because i like to really utilize a shoe in order to make my way. Up and if your shoe gets too aggressive. That i feel than just wearing socks so. This is a really substantial soul and a really substantial addition to your foot in order to climb the shoe only weighs. 290 gram so you know nice and light shouldn’t hamper you too much and i find. Then actually quite comfortable and i. Think the adjustment on the top is awesome to make sure you get a good fit. And i really like that they’ve thought this through from a climbers perspective and actually put the loops all around the shoe to make sure you can actually put it on nice and tight as far as your. Ability goes i tried about a few times not a mark on them really and it does. Indeed, work really well on both plastic and rocks and although i think it’s a. Very accessible shoe maybe when you’re. Just getting into climbing like me this. Is something you can definitely pick up without the hitch and get started with and especially at the price point it’s a. Decent shoe not sure about the color but hey I’m sure that you can find something that matches your own personal tastes and overall i think it’s a good shoe that. Does exactly what it needs to do and makes no secrets about what it’s supposed to do i like it’s good too. And at the price point you can be sure. A while before you will have to buy. Another pair or just replace the bottom. And let’s have a look inside as you can. See it’s all leather so these shoes will. Definitely snack your food nicely as well. They will definitely stretch now how. Much this shoes will stretch well. Watching la sportive page and some. Guidance they will stretch approximately. One size now when i was purchasing these. I actually went one and half size down. What i normally wear and they are still. Very comfortable they don’t hurt my feet. Access approach shoe comes in a leather version and a mesh version it’s available now you’re looking at $130 on. The mesh and 140 on the leather the idea. Behind the access was to have a very lightweight sporty approach shoe that was a running inspired and what we have. Here in the mid sole is a high rubber. Injected eba so you have a lot of pop. And feel it’s so a lot of support when. You’re hiking when you’re walking the shoes built on our stealth s1 rubber. Dottie outsole so you have full dottie outsole with the stealth rubber for optimal grip in all conditions the. Leather version actually features a protective toe cap as well so the. Leather version is going to have a material that’s gonna be a little bit more multi at weather condition then the. Mesh and you get the toe cap over there you’re also going to see our exoskeleton. And the idea behind the exoskeleton is to give more lateral support to the shoe so it wraps up underneath your heel. Around your arch and you get a nice good technical fit the leather will stretch. Just a tiny bit and the mesh ism is gonna be the synthetic there so you won’t receive any stretch on that end so yeah i mean this is a great shoe for. Really a lot of different functions in the outdoors and really happy to have it’s super lightweight and in just extremely versatile it’s available now it’s called the xs.

Hi i’m colin power the climbing category director black diamond and this is our new vision harness this is the lightest. Weight full functioning harness on the market 224 grams designed really for alpine climbing for gear loops low-profile gear loops for. Ice buffer slots a super thin. Low-profile belay loop fixed legs it’s super packable and really lightweight. Like i said 224 grams so having a. Lightweight harness is one thing but having it really packable is another so it takes up less space in your pack not exactly on the comfortable side of the. Scale though a lot of the guys have been wearing this thing sport climbing and it’s like totally fine really really minimalistic 149 95 available in january. Of 2018. Pretty sick it’s pretty sick what we did. With this was we took our kinetic core construction from our zeno center chaos. And our ethos this is really the guts of that we stripped all the shell and everything off and left the the bare bones basically the skeleton so this is. Vector and fiber super strong doesn’t absorb water really packable really lightweight made the width balance. Between comfort and pack ability way more comfortable than you would think but it’s alpine rig it’s designed for alpine climbing no adjustment on the leg loops you know the only adjustment is the waist belt to get it on and off and this belay loop is super cool it’s. Basically one strand of super high-tech. Fiber that’s wrapped around like a doughnut and then wrapped in this casing. So it’s not like that most belay loops are a piece of webbing that’s folded into looping and bar tack so that’s how we could get this to be so strong and so small and it’s way way way over built we. Could even make it smaller and it would still meet all the requirements but it would get to the point you’d be freaked out we actually played with the diameter. Of this tubing a lot because our other. Have thicker but then it’s it’s not as. Packable we found this to be a good balance between functionality and pack ability if you put nothing on it then it’s really hard especially with gloves and jackets and stuff in packs some ski mountaineer is gonna wear this you go to the tetons you want a real harness that’s really light in packs well 224 grams that’s insane it’s only 5 grams i. Think heavier than the kawar which i would classify as not a full functioning harness you know yes you can wrap it and. Stuff like that but you know it’s got the diaper legs and no gear loop you know that kind of thing so this is like got everything you need on it called the. Vision because we thought that these climbers that are looking at these crazy north faces in the mountains like they have the vision to link up these ice smears and stuff this is the kind of harness that they want to wear sadly we. Made it for kyle dempster that’s who we made it for and he had our first prototype when we lost him last fall you. Know we made it for those guys for kyle haydon kennedy urban novak you know. Marko appraisal like these kind of dudes you know that are really pushing it but of course anyone can use it for anything they want but we really wanted to make it for those kind of guys that are pushing the limits in the mountains.

Can remember this after climbing one or. Two sessions it started to loosen up this one my toes do hurts and I’ll give you further impressions as. Time goes by but initial impressions. This is less stretchy than your synthetic leather or leather shoes. Obviously now that said this the. Firmness that it comes with it gives it a little bit more control and edging is. Awesome sensitivity is not that great because the soul is flat and thick but. What it does is really well as edging it gives it a pretty good stiffness right here and I’ve been able to step on. Really small holes that i couldn’t with this small holes on this thing it was. Like a big hole so it’s really great now. What any time will tell what the velcro is gonna do whether it was fitting to the ends or things like that as velcro straps tend to do but it seems. Like it’s built on two separate levels there’s the velcro and stitching right. Underneath a inset of a leather tab so i. Think longevity might be good here the. For comfort breath ability and price and. Then what we did was we came up with a. Leather version stiffer and more durable. For more outside long route type of. Climbing the full strength full length. Midsole is stiffer so that will support your feet for longer days climbing and. Then we had a soft high-performance. Mostly indoor are very steep rock climbing shoe called the shadow that allows us to grab and pull with our feet. And then the focus very soon here will. Be on the market is the stiffer version that allows us to have a lot more. Support on smaller holds for the type of climbing where we have more weight on our feet compared to the type of climbing where we’re climbing on deeper overhanging rock with a shadow place so. Before and our stealth overnight adventure wear is a winter storm coming. In we were just going through the woods like crazy this pack is tough as nails. It’s awesome go ahead get comfortable let’s take a look at it now so here you. Go guys here is the Nabisco pack this is. The 55 liter version now this is the older version of this pack from what i. Understand the 55 liter male version has. Been discontinued it’s no longer available I’m sure you could find it used on ebay and so on but there’s a 65. Litre version and now the 55 liter. Version is for women so if you go out. You’re looking for one of these packs you come across one right here on the. Back you should be able to see that it says Nabisco 55 right next to it will. Either be an m or a w and that will signify it if it’s for the male or for. The woman so with that being said if you get the 55 litre version or the 60 liter either way you’re getting an awesome pack we’ll go ahead and start by taking a look at it right here at the very top you have a drag handle right below that you have a zippered pocket which gives you access to the lid very good quality zippers these are ykk zippers good quality pull. On them too good action you have some. Bungee cord right here on top so you could put i don’t know your sweater whatever you want to your brain jacket out here maybe let something dry you have a draw cord with that so you can cinch it down real tight of course. There’s the fox leather very good. Quality the lid is hunkered down to the pack thanks to these two straps. On the inside of the lid you have this large zippered mesh pocket which. Includes the rain cover included it even. Has the fox on it you have this buckle right here with plenty of strap it’s so you can cinch down your load or expand it you have a.
