Divots to stick out on each, and they’re on each shoulder kind of makes it look like it was hanging on a hanger which so. Which is kind of you know shouldn’t do. Lining so it’s a brushed tricot lining really nice comfort against the skin on. The inside of the glove so you’ve got really good warmth weather protection and all the good features you want in. Going on the outside we’ve got some carabiner clips on the middle finger of either glove so you can easily attach those to a harness or a backpack if you choose to we do have a glove clip as well so you. Can clip the gloves together make sure they stay together and you don’t lose just a single glove which would be bad. You do have a nice elastic band around. The wrist of each glove to help keep it in place to get really good fit they’re. Really good comfort, and we do have a hook and loop tab that. Liner it’s basically a hundred weight fleece glove but you’ve got a nice tricot lining on the back of the hand here so it’s going to offer a little bit of warmth this hard place knit on the. Outside offers some wind resistant see to it the real thing with this liner is. Going to be this outer shell so you can see those a zipper on the side the glove here and inside there is a waterproof. Breathable shell so you can put this on. If you’re running and you run into a patch of bad weather you can pull that shell out and kind of put it on over the whole glove and now you’ve got a nice waterproof eatable glove on but when. You’re doing aerobic activities like running and cross-country skiing snowshoeing and you’re building up a lot of heat you don’t always need something like this until the weather gets bad it gets sunnier out later you can take the. Liner so I’m gonna pull off the shell glove here to expose that liner got a really nice kind of low profile wall. Liner here so it can be worn by itself if you’re doing a high aerobic activity. Where you need a little bit more breath ability but really nice simple. Design here it’s very breathable it wicks moisture very well and provides a. Really good amount of insulation for the shell glove now you can wear the shell. Glove by itself too there is a nice lightweight liner in there so you’ve. Essentially got three options with the gloves the liner by itself the shell by. Itself or the system together as a pair. So you’ve got a really good wide array. Versatility with the luminary sensor. Gloves here some other things to mention are a nice gauntlet closure, so we’ve got a super cinch closure single pull to. Tighten it down which is really convenient and easy you can do it one-handed so you don’t have to take a glove off or fuss with two hands and to. Loosen it you just grab that pull tab. There and it loosens up nice and easily so easy one-handed adjustment on the. Gauntlet of the glove we do have a removable leash or cord here so you can. Wrap that around your wrist if you choose to you can get rid of it if you. Don’t want to use it but very simple system there it’ll help you from losing. The gloves if they do fall off or if you take them off we do have a nice carabiner clip on the middle finger of the glove there so you can clip it to a harness or to a you know a backpack if. You choose to do that so you don’t lose the gloves again if you were to take them all down around the wrist we’ve got. A nice pull tab so when you’re putting the gloves on and you need to get that extra a nice tug you’ve got a really. There and another thing to mention on the liner gloves we’ve got nice velcro on the front and back so it helps keep. It in place when it’s in the glove so it doesn’t slide around on you prevent an awkward or uncomfortable fit so that velcro is a really nice addition to keep everything in place the fit of these. Gloves is very nice they’re fairly snug they do have a pre curved fit so again dexterity and movement is the key in. Actually have a water-resistant leather palm so it’s a little bit more durable. You’re gonna get a little bit more grip and a little bit more durability or a protection out of that leather palm and. Years ago while under ployment overseas it’s trying to figure out some sort of gloves to eat my hands warm and there’s. No magical glove that’s going to keep your hands warm aside from like giant expedition mitts and it’s a non-starter because it’s need. To be operated weapon these definitely. Not the glove i want to be shooting pistol you can totally manipulate a rifle with them which works but it’s kind of that happy medium like yeah i could use a pistol if i need to with them could definitely use a rifle and do. A pretty good job keeping my hands warm especially when the winds blowing these. Backstop gloves are made of two different materials as you can see by the inside this brown material is there. Radiant fleece does a really good job of keeping you warm and then this black material is actually gore windstopper. Material so across the whole back side. Ie backstop you have this wind stopper. Material and on the inside you have the radiant fleece this is the older model. And as you can see these first two fingers thumb and across the palm you. Have this silicon material does a really. Good job of kind of creating that tacky feeling to grab a hold of things especially glass something that would otherwise slip if you’re trying to grab it with this pretty smooth fleece the. Newer which they sell now which is the. Sensor backstop as a sensor material little pad right here on your index. Finger as well as on your thumb for using any capacities screens like your. Smartphones stuff along those lines and then the new one also has a little bit. Of silicone up here on your three fingers rather than just these first two. One thing as far as a keeley’s heel. Right here there’s this little clip so. You can clip both of your gloves together keep them there and this is just like a little piece of leather you can see stretching out what invariably happens. Are you grab one of your gloves in your pack and you’re like oh perfect they’re connected start pulling it gets caught in this little piece of leather rips and. Then it’s worthless a nice workaround i. Would love to see is either 550 cord. Loop or even just this zone right here to where you have almost like a buttonhole that you could just punch a carabiner through and clip them together that way the newer ones also with your. Sensor backstop right across here you. Have a little bit of elastic help keep the cuffs closed and not let any wind. Through the cuff since i purchased these. Gloves they’ve done a great job for me even if you get your hands wet ideally. Just splash with water as opposed to submerged they’re still gonna keep that. Chill off your hands more than if you didn’t have any gloves they still do a fairly good job insulating even if they get damp and as. I mentioned dexterity wise you can still. Do a number of tasks like whether it’s manipulate zippers buckles on equipment. Or manipulating your rifle anything like that do a good job, and they’re keeping. Your hands not necessarily warm because. That’s starting with the core like keep your core warm and then your hands will probably stay warm but what they do with the wind stopper material is keep. That heat from getting ripped off your hands and that’s important another use i. Found for them living up in idaho up in. The panhandle is running in the winter. Running along trail it’s cold that wind. Keeps it from biting into your hands makes it much more enjoyable or even. Cruising around on a bike your hands they’re not moving and keeping the wind. Construction so you’ve got easy movement for the hand you can very easily grip. Things and use your hands in a very easy manner that doesn’t fatigue you throughout the day we do have a hook and loop closure. Around the wrist of the gloves so you’ve got really good attachment there we’ll allow it to cinch down and get a proper fit we do have a glove clip there so you. Can clip the gloves together pretty easily so if you drop them you don’t. Just drop one, but they’re both clipped together so you can make sure you hang on to them at all times we also have a. Nice pull loop on the inside of the glove it’s really going to allow you to yank the gloves on get a nice tight and snug fit when you’re putting the gloves on some. Very nice features on the exterior of the glove stay pretty simple as well another nice feature on the glove is each thumb has a nice soft nose wipe so. Additional bonus to the glove there the. Fit of these gloves is really nice it’s fairly snug they are pre curved so you get that pre-curved construction again to reduce fatigue over a long day, and they’ve actually got anatomically stitched fingers so the fingers are really easy. To manipulate really easy to move it gives it really good dexterity throughout the glove so excellent. Features there that goat leather palm. Gives really nice durability and construction and you’ve got really good grip with the gloves as well so really like the fit really like the way that. The fingers are designed gives a really good easy feel and there you have it. Where you need great movement dexterity. Some weather protection as well as a little bit of warmth the outdoor research extrovert gloves are a great. Option for any of those back country activities.

Neutral road running shoes that have picked up some steam in the running community over the past couple years new balance has been making a big comeback, so we decided to pick them up chime out for ourselves and i got to say I’m a big fan so today we’re going to talk about what’s new with the bead 3s what we like what we don’t like let’s. Get to the video Okay so first up let’s just quickly run through what’s new over the zonte b-2s first new balance went with a new engineered mesh material for the upper and eliminated the overlays it’s still raster foot extremely well and i think it’s more breathable now compared to the v2s new balance also made a slight changes the outer sidewall the mid sole they now use raised hexagon shapes rather than depressed exa don’s a subtle change i know but it does result in a little firmer of a ride and less flex the viii’s also featured a new saddle which i ended up really liking a lot it really allows you to strap these shoes your feet and it helps with lock down and lastly the side logos are now reflective kind of minor change but it might be nice for some people that love to run at night ok so that’s what’s new now let’s talk about arguably the most attractive thing about these shoes and that’s the price point their msrp is 100 dollars, but we’ve already seen them as low as 85. Can save you guys some money okay back to the viii’s another thing that i like is that they are ultra lightweight at around eight point eight ounces sometimes you forget they’re even on your feet they’re great for those fast paced shorter distances a bit like the concept with the underarms of velocities only i think it’s better the viii’s are. Also pretty comfortable no issues with pressure points and the tongue is just fine and like i said earlier lock down is solid there’s also a decent amount of padding around the ankle collar and i had no issues with heel slippage at all i also think these shoes will be pretty durable over the long haul you can definitely tell new balance was going for increased durability with the viii’s as far as negatives i already kind of touched on one and that’s cushion the viii’s are definitely firmer than the b-2s especially in the forefoot I’d say bounce back is just average as well i was hoping for a little more there but i guess for short quick distances it makes sense and lastly this didn’t happen to me but i have heard some people complain that their toes rubbed against the lateral side of the shoe so if you’re kind of on the size border for the v2s you may think about ordering up a half size with the viii’s some other things you may want to know these shoes have a six millimeter drop so not the typical nine ten drops you see with like the gel nimbus series or ultra boost running shoes for example the viii’s are kind of that nice compromise between those high-end cushioned running shoes and racing flats also like i said earlier these are neutral shoes so if you tend to overpronate i would recommend staying away from these overall though i really like these shoes especially given their affordable price point they’re pretty versatile they’re perfect for speed training probably best for 5ks, but they still have enough support and cushion for those longer distances probably up to about a half-marathon or so I’d say but i want to hear from you guys let me know what you think comment down below make sure you subscribe and I’ll see you guys next time what’s up guys see painted pain train in. Hi it’s brad from back country skiing canada calm and today we’re talking about the quest motion fit jacket and. Pants from salomon new for fall 2013 so. This is next year’s gear but if you’re watching this video in september 2013 you can go to the stores and get it right away the big deal about this jacket is the freedom of movement sews all and put in gussets under the arms and the crotch they put extra fabric. Around the back the seams are a little bit different they put fabric more fabric over the knees if you look at the back the pattern of the stitching is a little bit different look for the flexing i can really move my arms around. If i want to grab something then go over do up a boot there’s a lot of given it the jacket is a big jacket but it. Doesn’t wear big it’s a fairly tight fit but it just seems like there’s a lot of room and i think that’s part of the stretch of it initially saw the jacket. The jacket i loved the pants the color. Wasn’t for me i was a little hesitant with the fabric I’m not exactly sure what it’s made of yet because it is next year’s gear but once i got it on it was a really super comfortable jacket and it’s beefy enough that if you’re skiing through the trees you can you know brush up against the trees is not gonna slice it open so most dedicated back country skiing touring jackets are very light fabric some sort of gore-tex and if you get too close to tree you could slice it wide open and a heartbeat this one it’s gonna take some abuse there’s. Lots of features it’s a full-featured jacket you know from the cuffs big burly. Cuffs i can leave my glove on and do my cuffs up no problem there’s plenty of pockets there’s a pocket and the shoulder here haven’t used it for. Anything I’m not a big fan of shoulder pockets but it’s a nice design element at the very least the color is great we’ve got a chest pocket as well I’ve. Used that quite a bit for things like ipods and money and whatnot the hand. Pockets here is down a little bit lower. Big pull tabs on the hand pockets which are nice, and they’re made of some sort of leather or plastics a little last big hand pockets there. Friendly with your pack as well, so they sit above your hip belt it’s also got it. Tips so you’ll notice on the side here. We’ve got nice big open pit zip zippers are really. Easy to pull up and down i don’t have to struggle with him on some jackets with the waterproof zippers you’re really struggling these bump it down quite easily if. We go to the inside of the jacket we’ve. Got a nice secure mesh pocket here ideal. For an ipod it’s got the pass-through for your headphones we’ve got the adjustments on the hood as well on this. Side we’ve got a bigger mesh pocket for smaller items as well the hood fits. Fairly well it’s it could be a little bit bigger for helmet compatibility but it has to cinch cords here too to. Cinch it down to fit a little bit better and the brim here is a little reinforced so it does stand out a little bit i like. I like brims here that have a wire in. Then so they actually are moldable but this one does a fairly good job of coming over my goggles and keeping the snow on my face it’s snowing pretty heavy today here at whitewater ski. Resort and it’s very wet the jacket is starting to wet out in places as you can. See but I’m not wet on the inside so I’m perfectly dry which is great and again. I’ve had the cinched the hood cinched up all day and the call are really high and cinched up because the snow has been really wet and getting my face but it’s kept me really nice and dry so that’s about it for the jacket there is a spray skirt i don’t have it on this model but there’s a zip in spray skirt as well sorry powder skirt we’re not paddling here so if you do like powder skirts you can leave that affixed to the jacket if you don’t I’m not a fan of them you can zip it out so I’ve zipped mine out because this jacket has got an extremely. Low cut like that’s great right down low. So you don’t really need the powder skirt in there if we move on to the pants themselves. With the pants. You can see there’re built-in suspenders. These suspenders you can take off as. Well as this soft shell upper portion. This zips out fully so if i don’t like. That and i just want to ride and with a belt or something i can take that out i like to keep it in its added warmth it also has an extra pocket in there for. Various things adjust ability on the. Pants you can gain a little weight over the christmas holidays you can cinch him in a little bit bigger beefy belt loops for fixing them closed there is a. Tab as well as a snap no problems there. And again the zippers are really nice and smooth it’s a waterproof zipper but. It just slides really well and you got the big pull tabs as well for gloves on or off, so we’ve got two big thighs. Pockets here we’ve got a bunch of stuff in my pocket already then we’ve got the. Lower pocket here and the lower thigh. Again i haven’t used that for anything. But you can never have enough pockets on. The side we’ve got the mesh openings. With a little bit of a mesh there so that snow doesn’t get in so you can pull those down a day like today it’s pretty warm out they want to do some venting so I’d open those up as i ski and get the air draft through which is nice on the. Bottom of that pants we’ve got full. Gator last size at the bottom nice and. Sticky so sticks to your boots we’ve got the reco in there as well nice feature. And then there is also a zip to get them. Around your boots a little bit easier. Overall i would say that sawn has done a. Great job with the quest motion fit. Piece. Good color coordination overall really. Comfortable one thing i did forget on the jacket, so we’ve got thumb loops and no snow is getting in there it’s sewn in. So really nice coverage keeps you warm. Keeps the weather out helps you look good and that’s the salomon quest motion. Boat eva Bushido — now if you’ve been following the blog you’ve probably seen I’ve already done a full review of this shoe and it rated really highly well i rated. It really high v it’s about i think it was nine point two out of ten on that. This is my first la sportive trail. Running shoe that I’ve ever worn and my. First impressions using it were amazing and it’s currently my go-to trail and. I’m sure so firstly it’s a very. Comfortable shoe fits very smugly if you. Are buying this in the uk then sizing is. Very accurate but if you’re in the u.s. then i would advise you size up by about. Half size the shoes got excellent. Cushioning in the mid sole and the upper. Is also it’s got a little bit of stretch. In there and feels very comfortable. Flexibility of assumed also very good. Flexing more towards the forefoot rather. Than complete flex which is good i think. That’s its kind of what you want on a. Trail running shoes you don’t want to be completely flexible you need a bit of stability there and whilst I’m talking. About stability this shoe is extremely. Responsive the tread on the bottom is. Very aggressive you can see there should. Focus yeah excuse the dirty shoe by the. Way I’ve been wearing this a lot lately so yet the traction on this shoe i can. Confirm that it’s also excellent in wet. Conditions as well as dry conditions and over buffed trails and technical trails. So I’ve got full confidence in the tread. And the grip of the issue I’m also if you can. See in here there is an internal sock. Inside here so it’s very comfortable. Slips on very nicely it’s not a complete. Wraparound sock like you will see on my. Review of the last 40 the captive. But it is excellent what else have we. Got so toe boxes of medium width there’s a. Finger loop at the back for slipping the. Shoe one laces really good length so. There’s no excess laces once that done. And overall for performance of this shoe it’s its extremely good. So la sportive is relatively new brand. To me and my experiences with it so far.
