As most women know, backpacks are often the unfortunate victim of the pink-and-shrink laser beam. However, designers over at Osprey heard the call for a functional, women-specific touring backpack, and answered with the Kresta 30 Backpack. And in typical Osprey fashion, the Kresta has just the right amount of features necessary for a day of touring in the alpine without skimping on the overall fit or functionality.
More specifically, this pack is fashioned with a women-specific Light Wire suspension system that when combined with the padded help belt and stabilization straps, provide a comfortable and pressure-free haul. The thermoformed, contoured back panel sheds snow easily, and ultimately reduces the build-up of frozen precipitation on your backside. Not to mention, a deployable helmet net makes carrying your helmet a breeze, and the tuck-away ice tool loop ensures you’re able to haul technical tools without worrying about losing them en route.
In keeping with its versatile construction, the Kresta boasts a horizontal snowboarding carrying feature, or if you’re of the dual-planked nature, it also touts an A-frame or diagonal ski carrying design. Though, perhaps most importantly, the Kresta has a J-shaped avalanche gear compartment, complete with dry pocket, so you’re not only able to access your safety gear in a flash, but you’re also able to separate your sensitive avy gear from wet skins or damp clothing. A back panel entry system enables you quick access to snacks or extra layers, and all of the Kresta’s zipper pulls, as well as buckles, are glove and mitten friendly.
Truly a multi-talented pack, the Mammut Women’s Lithia Speed 15 Backpack is the smallest pack in the Lithium family, and is perfect for everything from trail running and hiking to multi-pitch climbing. As tough as it is lightweight, the 70D nylon 3line ripstop fabric provides a resilient design that withstands abrasive surfaces, while also keeping the bulk of your pack to a minimum. Then, the well-ventilated and cushioned Contact Vent back system uses 3D EVA foam to help carry the load with breathable comfort, just as the shoulder padding does as well.
Its shorter back length and shoulder straps are specifically designed for the female figure, but are easily adjustable to meet your specifications. With plenty of room for your ropes, shoes, layers, gloves, and lunch, the main compartments easily stores all of your daily gear, while its hydration-compatible design prevents you from going thirsty on the trail. And when the adventure turns from a trail into a light boulder scramble, attach your trekking pole to the carrier for freed up hands.
The second you put on the Osprey Women’s Sirrus 24 Backpack and feel its mesh AirSpeed back panel successfully transfer the load to your legs, you get overwhelmingly excited, if not giddy for the big hike ahead. The AirSpeed suspension system combines the rigidity of aluminum stays with a tensioned mesh back panel for effective load transfer and cross ventilation, while the Women-specific Spacer Mesh hip-belt and shoulder straps ensure your load rests where it should for max efficiency and pain-free hiking.
Its ErgoPull waistbelt closure makes cinching down the belt easy, and hipbelt pockets hold your camera, shades, or quick snacks so you keep spirits high. And if rain starts to fall on your adventure, deploy the integrated rain cover to keep your gear dry as a bone. A Stow-on-the-Go feature on the left side lets you holster your trekking poles or ice axe for hands-free walking, and the compression straps let you adjust the pack’s volume to fit different load sizes.
Deuter made the Women’s ACT Trail 22 SL Backpack versatile so you can ski, climb, and hike with the same pack. Its AirContact Trail SL suspension system features a women-specific design, stabilizer straps, a flexible frame, ventilated channels, and breathable 3D AirMesh padding at the shoulder straps, waist belt, and back panel.
There are two access points to the ACT Trail’s main compartment, one at the top for packing and another at the front for getting gear quickly. Deuter also added a sleeve for your hydration reservoir, a compartment for dirty clothes, and a rain cover that you can remove for sunny days. There are multiple pockets inside for organization as well, one on the side for a water bottle, and another zippered side for security. The loop at the bottom stores ice axes, trekking poles, or a helmet―whatever your adventure calls for.
Your last adventure race went something like this: you navigated on foot through a labyrinth of trees until you reached a river, hopped in your canoe and paddled over to where your mountain bike was waiting, jumped on your bike and pedaled over a mountain pass. Or maybe this just described one of your typical weekend days. Whatever the case, the Osprey Women’s Tempest 20 Backpack is a perfect lightweight companion for your adventurous day exploits. This panel-loading backpack holds up to twenty pounds of gear and water, and keeps things organized in convenient pockets. It features a women-specific fit and breathable, cushioned comfort to keep you from conjuring visions of chucking the bag downriver before you reach the end of your journey.
The hip-belt’s ErgoPull adjustment makes it easy to tighten or loosen on the fly, and the shoulder straps, harness position, and sternum strap can also be adjusted for a perfect fit tailored to your anatomy and load. The ventilating ridged foam back panel keeps you fresh while padding your back through long day hikes or multi-sport excursions. A pull-out LidLock helmet attachment fits through the vents on your bike helmet to secure it to the front of the pack, loop and bungee attachments hold tools and trekking poles, and multiple smaller pockets hold items you’d like to quickly access.
Strap on the lightweight and versatile Osprey Women’s Tempest 9 Backpack for a fast-moving day hike on Saturday, and a mountain bike ride on Sunday. The Tempest 9 offers room for trail maps and a rain shell, as well as bike tools and a spare tube in the front zippered pocket. The backpack includes a pull-out LidLock helmet attachment that pulls through the vents on your helmet to secure it to the front of the pack, as well as front bungee webbing and a tool loop and bungee ties to hold additional items and tools.
The shoulder straps and hip-belt are specially shaped, positioned, and padded to fit the female figure, and feature mesh-covered foam padding that provides breathable cushioning. The sternum strap keeps the backpack from shifting and helps support the pack’s weight as you scramble up big rocks or carve through singletrack turns. With the hip belt’s ErgoPull adjustment system, you’ll be able to easily snug down or loosen up the hip belt on the fly. Reflective graphics make you visible in low light conditions, which is perfect if you decide to go for a trail run at dawn, return to your car, and hop on your mountain bike and ride until dusk.
now the go guys I’m here to give a. Review on the osprey tempest for tea bag. This is the extra small which makes it. Actually a 38 litre rather than a 40. Litre yeah i just recently got this I’m. Planning on going on some overseas. Travel the reason i got the extra small. Was that i could fit into it and then also that it fit more of the dimensions. Of being able to become a carry-on. Rather than something that i would have to check i wanted something that had enough room for 10 sleeping pads all my. Close some electronics and yeah. Basically just all my needs as far as. Being overseas and traveling for an extended period of time i really liked look the look of this bag. Online i checked it out on their website. Which is probably where i would recommend doing any specs checking of. Any backpacks would be to go to the. Brands website because i have found that. On amazon or any outfitters websites. They just don’t have the correct specifications i got this through rei. It’s about i think 160 dollars and the. Things that i really do like about it or. What drew me to the bag were i really. Like the kangaroo pouch in the front this mesh pouch I’ve already done some. Extended backpacking and this is kind of like a must for me because I’m not the. Most organized person in the world and when have like maybe a jacket or a raincoat that i don’t want to open up my entire. Pack to put back in here and make it. Super organized i just like to shove it into here and it’s nice to say you have. Snacks or something that you want to just get to fast this is a must for me another thing that kind of drew me to. The pack was this is what they call a. Brain on a backpack and i like having a. Rather, larger brain it’s just pretty. Pretty large and i like that you can fit. You know a good portion of stuff in here. One thing that i thought was kind of. Different about the design on this one. Which i do like that it’s somewhat. Detachable we’re just flexible i don’t know that you can fully remove it because this is the weird part it kind of has this strap system that goes from. They i don’t know they got kind of funky with the straps on this backpack to be honest it’s got this one that connects to this it kind of runs down through these two loops and then back up through this knot and that can kind of cinch it. Down which i do enjoy that it keeps it. Pretty sturdy but i just think that there’s kind of necessary leakage one. Think that i have come to realize after. Having received it was that these straps. Are i think a little bit too simple for. Me and not as comfortable as i was. Hoping so just putting it on putting you. Now a lot of gear in it and testing it. Out and feeling it out these are pretty thin and as far as osprey packs go. They’ve come a long way with how. Amazing and cushioned and patted their. Straps are the pack that i hiked with. Through a year and a half it was like my. Home it was the osprey aura 65 and not. Long straps in compare more amazing these i just i don’t. Now if i can get behind a bag that’s gonna actually hurt my shoulder ernest. Because I’ve gotten spoiled so yeah this. Is the back of it which is pretty decent. I think as far as you know back to concern you do get a lot of airflow in here but in again it’s a slight. Disappointment compared to where osprey. Is now with their backs especially i think with the anti gravity backs that they’re coming up coming out with right now this just you know i don’t know that. You can get as much air flow as you know. The other box do because they’re almost you know of of your back it does have. The adjustable shoulder straps where you. Can get in here and adjust it to size. Which is nice it does have this the. External bladder right here which i do. Enjoy probably better than having it on. The inside for me i don’t know if it’s. Completely 100% necessary cuz I’m not. Even sure I’m gonna be taking my bladder on my travels so something again I’m. Just gonna kind of way out so these are a side mesh pocket, and they have some. Blue straps here that it goes either on. The outside or you can realign them on. The inside sometimes i think they’re. Just a little bit overkill these this. One in particular go zigzag across this. Pocket but then also attaches to the hip. Belt and this side pocket so i don’t. Now if cinching this up a lot is gonna. Just like i don’t know. It’s just for me I’m not sure the reason. Why it’s there if you know leave a comment this right here for like ice. Pick and i know their cord right here. You can tie it down so these straps. Right here are load stabilizer straps, and they help you balance how much of a. Load that you’re taking on your upper back so those are really helpful i think. Most backpacks come with them as far as the hip belt it looks pretty nice looks. Like it’s got some air flow to it even these pockets right here are like half. Mesh which is kind of nice another thing. When i was kind of disappointed in was the quality or the sturdiness of these. Straps on the buckle and so this buckle. I’m not super stoked on the design or. The quality it just seems kind of. Slightly flimsy so and we can give you a. Lot of to work with here i know. It’s the extra small and i mean that’s. Kind of what it comes with but say you’re having a heavy day and you. No need a little bit more room for. This like it’s not that big so i enjoy. That there aren’t super long straps cuz. On my last one they were really long but yeah i just give at least a little bit. More oh and it’s got this sternum strap. And the sternum strap is adjustable as well so that’s nice to have one of these. That can adjust easily this little. Pocket i was somewhat excited for but i. Don’t know what more than like your two. Fingers you can fit in here i was hoping. That it might be able to fit like my ipod but i have come to found out the. Test will not happen it’s just way too. Small so that’s kind of diss yeah i think that’s the stow on the go trekking poles and so you can store them. Right here in here which is really nice. When you’re hiking and you just don’t want to use them or you have to kind of like scramble up some rocks so there’s just the two entrances the bottom and the top i do like this kind of. Compression saint-jean my top which is your bags pretty full and you want to just cinch it down that’s pretty nice it. Does open really wide which i like and. So you can just get in there and it’s. Pretty nice that if you don’t have a side entry then you’ve got a nice big. Open entrance to the top of your bag. Yeah so then there’s the bottom entrance. Here and i don’t know if i might just. Not read it but i was hoping for kind of. Like separation down here for my sleeping bag but there isn’t any separation so i mean if you’re taking. Put your bag some other stuff might fall. Out i don’t know i just like for the. Divider here these clips serves or you. No sleeping mask or yoga mat or whatever you keep on here all around i. Feel like this is a pretty awesome bag but the only thing is. That for i think long distance traveling. It just doesn’t do’t have some of the. Some features that i like you know bag i would maybe recommend it for like some maybe week-long backpacking. Hikes or if you’re more into the kind of. Minimalistic style i would say it feels really good i think I’m possibly just going to look for a another bag and find. Something that fits my needs because. It’s gonna be home for a while thanks for watching the video i hope you guys enjoyed it if you wanted to ask any. Questions feel free to ask them in the comments and I’ll try to answer oh yeah. That’s good this video helped you guys out alright thanks guys You.
With a flexible, yet supportive BioSync design, side-strap compression system, and a slew of handy pockets, the Gregory Maya 16 Backpack is ideal for full-day hikes or epic mountain bike rides. The Maya’s BioSync suspension system allows the pack to move with your body in motion and keeps the pack centered on your back. Side compression straps secure the load so it doesn’t shift around inside the pack.
The pack’s hydration tube management system keeps the drinking tube within easy reach, so you don’t have to divert your attention to take a drink. Dual waist belt pockets and side pockets make it easy to access the things that you need to get to in a hurry, like your camera or a snack. The Gregory Maya 16 fits a two-liter hydration reservoir, which is enough for a day hike or a long cross-country mountain bike ride.
Cleanly designed with a minimalist aesthetic, the Gregory Women’s Maya 22 Backpack brings functional carrying and streamlined support into your daily commute, weekend hikes, and far-flung travel. The BioSync suspension system not only prevents moisture build-up with its well-ventilated design, but moves naturally with your body to prevent uncomfortable pressure points resulting from an overly rigid back panel and shoulder straps.
The top-access main compartment is roomy enough for storing extra layers, daily documents, and other larger items, with an internal-zip security pocket for housing keys, cash, and other small necessities. Another innovative feature is the bungee-secured front pocket that expands to accommodate your bike helmet or rain jacket. Ultimately, this lends the Maya 22 the versatility needed for conquering everything from downtown bike commutes to extended travel across widely varying climates.
Osprey’s Kresta 40 Backpack is choice whether you’re ski touring to a hut for a minimalist overnighter or tackling a technical ascent filled with ice climbs and rappels. Osprey built this pack with a LightWire suspension system that assures a comfortable carry when you’re carrying loads as heavy as forty pounds. Two main compartments— one dry storage for sleeping bags and clothes and an other for avalanche gear—keep all of your backcountry essentials organized and easily accessible when you’re on the skintrack.
The main compartment is accessed through the back panel for easy access, even with your skis, snowboard, or ice axes strapped through the front. The avalanche gear compartment is accessed through the front panel for quick access during emergencies. Osprey also equipped the Kresta with an insulated hydration reservoir and tube that prevent your water from freezing. The Kresta carries snowboards vertically or horizontally, skis diagonally or at an A-frame, and a helmet at the front. The helmet carry system stows away when you’re wearing your helmet. This pack also features a strap that secures climbing ropes, and a fleece-lined pocket that prevents goggles from getting scratched.

The Air Fit 2.0 and Split shoulder straps combine to keep the air flowing between you and your pack which helps prevent heat build up. That heat build up leads to a sweaty back and wet clothes that make hiking uncomfortable. A cool back only helps when you have enough internal capacity and organization to stay prepared for anything the trail can throw at you, luckily the Alp Trainer does not skimp in that area. A large top loading pocket holds all your big items while a plethora of on the go pockets, gear attachment straps, pole fasteners, and a hydration system exit keep you moving quickly and in comfort.

You also are always prepared with this pack’s raincover that conveniently packs into the pack. The Deuter Shield System is also up for the task of keeping you safe. Thinking the right pack can seem like a very overwhelming experience for a lot. Of reasons there are so many packs in the market it’s kind of hard to narrow down which one is right for you i like. To look at three things when I’m picking it back first what’s my purpose i want. To make sure if I’m doing day hikes overnight trips I’m using it as a carry-on that it fits that specific reason then it needs to fit me and fit. My body to make sure that it’s dispersing all the weight properly and finally i wanted to be as comfortable as it can be when i first moved to alaska. This was the pack that i picked up it was deuter future pro 34 litre sl which. Sl on the deuter brand is a pack line. That is designed specifically to fit a woman’s body daughter is a german based. Brand they’ve been in the backpacking industry for 110 years they have several. Lines of packs and what they pride. Themselves on is their air ventilation system their packs are equipped with. This lightweight mesh system that. According to the company keeps you from. Sweating it keeps your a cut your sweat down by about 25% now as i mentioned. It’s important for a pack to fit you properly and there are two main areas. Where that’s true. It’s important that your pack fit in. Your shoulders and in your waist because that’s where you’re going to be carrying the weight now this is the sl meaning. That it is designed specifically for women’s body so that’s a number of. Different features the waist belt is smaller than say a man’s pack to. Accommodate that women are oftentimes smaller you also have slimmer shoulder straps. And they carry in a different way and then you have a smaller wound mostly. Have smaller torsos and so the s outfits. Petite torso one of the things that i. Found that i like pack opposed to a lot of packs is i find that it’s really easy to tighten it and. It’s also really easy to reduce in so. Say you’re layering you put on a coat and you need to loosen it a little bit you just kind of flip these back or you. Take off that jacket and you need to tighten it a little bit more it’s able to do that there are a number of. Different features in this pack pockets. Galore which is what we always like to see on packs you’ve got this top pocket. Which is perfect for gear that you’re. Gonna want to access quite frequently then if you flip it open you actually. Have this sos card which gives you important sos survival advice which is. Kind of cool you also have this interior. Pocket on the lid which is designed to. Keep your valuables safe so i often put things in here that i don’t maybe want to access for the entire trip so keys my. Wallet my id anything like that. Now speaking of keys on the top lid the. Pack actually does come with a key chain that you can hook your keys to however i. Find that it’s not something that i use very frequently which also pockets on. The side i can put ear in there you got. These mesh pockets that hold water one. On either side and this side it also has. That gear pocket now this is a older. Model so it does have this front pocket. Which is an available on some of the newer models however all the models. Have this bottom compartment. That they call the sleeping bag compartment now if you take that out you. Can see it’s a separate compartment but you can also unzip it and it gives you access to the rest so you can use it away there’s a number of attachments. That come with deuter packs you can get attachments to carry ice picks or. Trekking poles as well there’s as well. These that you can attach carbines to. To carry other types beer with you. Whether it’s your coffee mug or something on the top one thing that i. Tend to use this pack for is carry-on. And also it’s a great overnight pack if you’re staying in like a hut or a cabin. So I’ve assembled some gear to kind of give you an idea of how much this 34. Liter pack and pull so i do have its. Hydration bladder compatible so i. Already have my 3 liter hydration bladder in there the hose goes through. The top out the back and then you can. Clip it with this velcro and you can. Actually remove it and clip it to either side whatever is more comfortable for you do we have that in there already. You’ve got our sleeping bag in the bottom we’re gonna throw in our thermos. Our jet boil. A pack of some extra layers you can see. It start to get a little bit tight. And finally every tooth throw in but a. Day and that’s worth food so you can see. That is tight at 34 liters is all of. That but we do still have room in the bottom, so we have a number of options we could stuff more stuff under there, or we can unzip it, and we can make it one large compartment now we talked about. Our lid without easy access exterior. Pocket this i tend to put things like a. Gps in satellite communication device. And always twitter paper now of course. There would be other odds and ends that you would probably carry with you and there is still room in here you have. Some room in our side pockets as well definitely could put headlamps lighters. Things like that other snacks um but. It’s starting to get a little bit full but you could definitely it’s a great weekend bag now one of my favorite features of this pack is the rain cover. So say it starts to sprinkle a little bit outside you just unzip the bottom. Pull out the rain cover that’s actually. Attached by a clip pull it. Over your pack it fits perfectly. And you are ready to go sprinkle stop. It’s easy to take off one thing i really. Like is placement i like that it’s at. The very bottom and i also really like. That it has a clip say you’re doing a little bit of bushwhacking you’re crawling with your branches or things on a rough trail it just touches and rips. Off which it had happened before it’s. Still connected so it seems like you don’t quite use it this often then you. Just back it back in the big shot. And you are good to go now as i. Mentioned i would say that this is the perfect pack for say a weekend trip if. You’re staying in a cabin if you’re staying in the hot it’s perfect for day trips where you need a little bit of extra space it’s not necessarily the. Perfect just day pack with friends. Because it is a little bit heavy at. Almost 4 pounds so you probably wouldn’t want to carry that if you didn’t need to however it was the very first pack that i owned and i used it exclusively for. About three years before picking up some. Other packs some smaller packs and some bigger packs and now i find that i use this exclusively for day trip activity. So berry picking or fishing are the. Primary uses that i use it for but i do. Enjoy the deuter brand i like the slim. Fit the sle for women i think it fits me. Very well and i have other women friends that it fits as well and i would. Definitely recommend and ain’t your. Local store and trying it out. And seeing if it’s the right back for you.
The Gravity Motion SL 35L Backpack is ready to step in as your go-to climbing daypack. It’s got a low-profile, minimalist design that betrays just how much storage it’s packing, and a comfortable carrying system with a special contoured fit for female climbers. The Gravity suspension system keeps the pack’s load close to your body for greater stability, and features ventilated padding on the back and straps for breathable comfort, as well as a flexible frame that lends structure and support for long approaches. Stretchy zippered side pockets keep climbing shoes and water bottles tucked away but still within easy reach, and gear loops along the front of the pack let you easily lash on anything that can’t fit inside. On the other side of the pack you’ve got back panel entry for easy access that doesn’t require rooting around your pack from the top, letting you access important gear quickly when you need to. Compression straps help pull the load in closer and offer external storage for a waterproof shell or puffy, while a top haul loop makes it easy to lug up after you on all-time multi-pitch climbs.
Designed for keeping things moving on the trail, the FastpackHer 20L Backpack is a streamlined, lightweight way to carry the essentials. Ultimate Direction started as a running brand, and as such constructed this pack with features like strap pockets that leave space for your water bottle and phone, enabling you to take a sip or take a photo without dropping your pack. The lightweight material is more durable than it feels, and withstands the abrasive nature of the trail without weighing you down. You can access the main compartment through a vertical zipper or the roll-top, so your gear stays dry and easily accessible.
Hey there and welcome back to peace. Couch now as many of you aware I’m about to embark on the marathon disorder which. Is something I’ve been concentrating really heavily on for the last year or. More as well as doing lots of training. I’ve been doing so much research on the. Amount of kit going to take and I’ve been testing a lot of stuff so over the. Next couple of weeks before i depart i thought I’d share some of those learnings with you and where better. Place to start than the backpack I’m going to take which i have decided on. The ultimate direction fast pack 20 now. This is super heavy at the moment because it’s its fully weighted so I’ve been training with but i just can empty it out and show you why i like it so much so here it is and it’s naked form. And this is what i like most about it is that it’s so minimal it’s basically an expanded running desk it weighs next to nothing and this is kind of one of the big deciding factors for me because obviously I’m trying to cut down as much weight as possible 510. Grams okay now a great thing to compare. This to is the official war bag which a. Lot of people will be using mdf and in. Contrast it’s got all kinds of stuff hanging off it and most importantly the. Weight of it 900 grams that’s a pretty. Huge difference so this is nearly half the weight of the wire back which is an incredible savings but I’ve also decided. To make an even bigger saving on it there’s not much you can cut off it like the like a wild bag you can get the diseases to that and kind of trim off some weight but here it’s so minimal anyway but certainly the most notable. Savings you can make is in the back there’s a bit of padding that you can remove, and they say that this can be. Used to sit on or even to you know used. To cushion your hips when you’re lying down i found it pretty useless. I’ve actually having removed this form. The back I’ve actually found the pack more come — boo and with it out so condition this. That brings the weight of the pack down to give time a gram so i say 10 grams. Right there so although this fast pack is nearly half the weight of the wire bag actually fits way more in it and it’s down as a 20 litres bag but i think. You could probably push that out quite a lot partly because of the nature of this main compartment and how it seals its kind of like a dry bag has a velcro fastening that then rolls and then clips. In at the sides now i probably got about. 20 litres in there now but you can. Basically just not roll it down as much and sitting maybe another five litres. Into that main compartment it’s not only that you’ve also got this fat mesh here. Which you can fit loads in that really stretches out and it’s a firm mesh as well so it’s going to hold things firmly in place i don’t tend to put a massive amount in there because i like to keep my weight closer to my back but it’s actually really good for holding waterproof or extra base layers that you. Might be using during the day stuff that down there and it holds it in their lovely and secure on top of those two main compartments we’ve got these mesh pockets on the side which also hold a lot of stuff very stretchy and pretty. Secure I’ll generally use those side pockets for stuffing food and stuffing rubbish because even though I’ve got terrible flexibility i can reach into those pockets quite nicely so coming onto the front, and we’ve got two really great water pouches here it really surprises me how many ultra bags don’t. Seem to have big enough pouches built in. For hard water bottles and maybe because they want to offer flexibility so that people can attach themselves but as you think this is a great weight saving thing to be able to build them into the bag that ultimates are it shouldn’t have done so as you can see — water pool. Tools fit there really nicely there’s also the option on this right-hand one if you don’t want to. Carry two water bottles this zips back up again and there’s actually a really nice secure pocket that you could maybe put bars you could put all kinds of stuff down in there it’s actually a really brilliant phone holder you can put your phone down into their sip it back up and that’s super secure. But i actually find that’s one of the major downsides of its bad for me is that I’m going to be running around with two bottles most of the time and there’s nowhere for me to put my phone now I’m not expecting to be on the phone the whole time but it’d be really good to have access to music and stuff like that if i do want to listen to music currently there’s nowhere else. On the front of the bag for me to put it. There’s this outside stretchy pocket just outside where the water bottle is but actually getting your phone into it. It’s pretty much a no-go really the best. Place for you to put your phone is there’s a smaller zip pocket on the side of the bag then it can go in nice and. Securely there’s also one of these clip leaves to put your keys onto you know I’ve ever used one of these so the annoying thing about it is that it’s going to be too far away for you to reach when you’ve got your bag on so coming back to the front you’ve also got two smaller pouches below the water bottles so if i just take these out so you can get a better look so on the left. Hand side we’ve got a zip and on the. Right-hand side we’ve got a velcro strap these are actually bigger than they look quite often i use them to dump keys and just have stuff that i want readily available, but they’re actually stretch out so hold a couple of bars maybe or you know something slightly more sizable approach they just not that phone but you can see i can fit two full clif bars. Into each one of these pockets obviously. One of the most important things about the bag is how comfortable it is and i get on really well with this and i think. That could partly be because of the nature of these shoulder straps it’s actually one bit of fabric runs straight. From the base of the bag over the. Shoulders and down the front you can see it completely wraps around which makes it really comfortable all the way around and especially now I’ve taking. That back bit of padding out it just molds into your body really nicely so one thing that it’s most commonly criticized for is that it has two chest straps but no waist strap and a lot of people will say that that creates a bit too much side-to-side bouncing when they’re running i can definitely see that point but i don’t really experience it too badly myself and i think that’s partly because i found a configuration that really works for me on the front here i tend to pack. A lot of the weight in the bag place for my body to avoid bouncing if i do experience any bouncing i tend to try and adjust my running to be a little normal glider which i guess i see is a win-win situation i kind of want to be a little bit more glide ii so the chest straps themselves are actually really nicely adjustable they’re set into these sliders here which you can move them up and down so i found best. For security for me is to have one right. At the top and then slide the bottom one right down to the bottom and that kind. Of clips me in nicely either side of the rib cage by far my biggest issue with this bag is full of my decision to take polls to the mds oh now handily enough. There’s actually some really nice. Elastic straps on the back that hold them nicely in place you can put them down here there’s a clippable elastic. Bungee that you can wrap them around and have them nice and secure on the back of. The pack like that but i know having. Poles on the back of the bag i will never use them so really i need to have. Then on the front straps but unfortunately on the front straps there’s nothing there that’s made to hold the poles so I’ve had to try and budge something to make it work for me now unfortunately i haven’t made life easy for my selves and I’ve got poles that fold into four sections which means. That both the handle and the pointer at the bottom which means that when it’s. Going down this way there’s nothing really to hold on to the top of the pole so my first idea was to put a hook at. That i tied on to one of these things here and i took this string on the top. And then i tied it to the side that worked it was actually quite comfortable. But it was just so fiddly I’m hooking this and hooking it back on again i probably was never going to use my poles because it was too fiddly so then. I tried other things i tried to pass them on to the front which is a terrible idea don’t try that it was awful and i also tried to fasten it down here somewhere which again didn’t work so my final winning solution simply uses two pieces of elastic one of which just ties. Straight around the strap and around the water bottle here and one which fixes on. To the bottom buckle over here and that one has a sliding clip on it so all we. Do is we take the end of the poles and put it through the bottom bit of elastic we tie that site then put the end over the spike which. Then holds that in position and stops it falling down then the top you just feed. Through that top bit of elastic which. Holds it nice and securely in place so that’s nicely out the way and more. Importantly it’s a really light solution and i know it’s going to be simple enough for me to deploy and actually use the poles when i need to use them so that is the ultimate direction fast pack 20 is a massive winner for me really recommend it if you are doing a multi-day ultra or if you just do a lot of running weekend so check it out.

Thule’s always been the go-to name for roof racks, hitch racks, and general cargo carrying, but it’s been getting into the technical pack game, and the early results haven’t been too shabby. The new Stir Women’s Hiking Pack, for example, has an innovative top-access design that combines a cinch-down opening, top storm flap, and internal zip to keep all your gear locked down and organized. As impressively, the StormGuard design features a partial hideaway rain cover that teams up with the Stir’s rugged lined bottom to create a waterproof package that’s still usable when it’s covered up.
The Stir is both customizable and well designed due to a sliding back panel to fit different torso sizes and a removable hip belt and sternum strap to give it a more streamlined look for around-town use. A side zipper provides easy access to buried layers, and pockets at the shoulder strap, front, side, and top supply convenient spots to stash your phone, water, rain shell, and snacks. There’s even a dual ice axe/trekking pole carrying system, so you can be prepared if things start to get technical.
Designed to be a fit for trail users that fancy multiple activities, the Gregory Maya 10L Backpack performs well for hiking, trail running, or mountain biking. Its low-profile design stays out of your way regardless of what you’re doing, yet holds plenty of gear for a full day on the trail. BioSync Suspension provides structure to help the pack move with you, while the women-specific harness provides comfort with an adjustable fit. External and internal pockets organize the essentials, an a hydration sleeve with external access lets you be sure to have your water accessible.
