Cruising around the driveway on your grip-shift 9-speed in your classic Bell helmet might’ve been a defining vignette of your childhood, but we’d hazard a guess that Bell hasn’t been on your radar much since you stopped riding the school bus. We’ll fill you in on what you’ve missed. As you’ve grown taller, lost the braces, cut your hair, and moved out of the mom and pop hotel, Bell’s done some growing up of its own. Its newer crop of helmets is ready for a lot more than driveway cruising; return to Bell with the Super 3 MIPS Helmet when you’re hunting down tacky dirt on your all-mountain hound and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
The Super 3 MIPS shares a lot with its rowdier DH sibling, the Super 3R MIPS, with the main distinction being the Super 3’s affinity for trail and all-mountain riding over DH and freeride. An In-Mold polycarbonate shell stands guard against direct impacts, while a MIPS liner sits inside the helmet, diffusing the rotational energy generated in certain crashes.
Bell knows you’ll be climbing as much as descending on trail rides, so it punches out 23 vents across the Super 3, plus internal channels along the brow, to help you stay cool and level-headed on never-ending switchbacks. Pop a camera into the included camera mount—it’ll breakaway in the event of a crash to save it from further damage—and make quick on-trail fit adjustments with the Float Fit dial, which has been lightened and rubberized this year for added comfort.
Hey guys so I’m just going to do a quick. Video about my thoughts on the new belle super d h endure helmet and so connor. Got it in the full face mode we’ve got the two clips here on the side the. One at the back which i believe probably. Gives it that downhill rating so it’s a. Little bit tight I’m very compact in here really but it. Up against my cheeks not a lot of space in there but — i feel super safe in this. I’ve written in it in the d h mode and. Yeah it just feels like a normal full. Face obviously it’s a fair bit lighter but it’s very comforting to know that. You’ve got the chin bar ready so. I’ll just take off the chin bow and show you guys what it’s like so i think the best way is rudy side guys first put. Then out and then one at the back. And this one is a little bit temperamental oh god there you go. Well you gotta make sure that these are. Clicked out all the way so in the open. Face mode it’s quite normal like a. Normal helmet doesn’t feel too dorky i don’t think like you know some helmets they feel like they’re out here this one feels pretty good chin strap on doesn’t. Move well not too much I’ve just had a haircut sir I’ve got a clip some clips. At the back well this is kind of. Tightens it up but feels pretty good like super sturdy it’s got mips in it. It’s very obviously it’s very breathable. In the open air like that’s that’s pretty obvious but it does feel very. Light and it do i do feel quiet. Protected with it um the visor i don’t. No like i feel like the visors bit. Flimsy like i mean it do i guess if it. Hits it’s gonna move pretty easily but you know like alright i just feel like. If I’m gonna land out its gonna break pretty easy but i guess that’s what it’s there for so inside the helmet got the mips got. These pads which you can adjust based on. Your head shape and all your sweat. Actually traps in here and I’m thinking you can remove all of that pad and wash. It so not too bad like I’ve been riding. It in summer here in australia and it’s um it’s been pretty good obviously. Riding it with the chin bar in place. I’ve done the fair bit of climbing and it’s not got i feel very good that. Really tight fit with the cheeks and. Like pretty much your mouth is being compressed isn’t the best thing to do when you’re trying to breathe and climb up hill so it’s definitely one that you obviously take off and climb up but as you saw to take. It off it’s a bit of dicking around so if you just punching laps quick it’s probably not the best thing to do so i. Will show you guys know how quickly it is. To put on the well put the chin bar back. On the helmet so let’s let’s see how we go okay chin bar. Chin bar we’ve got these little mounts. Here and this little clip which has to. Go in there Pull that over. Try get it nice and tight and then. Hopefully these guys are clipped in pull. This down pull the other one down and. Then that in boom. That one wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be seen my name is even quicker. So you take it off oh yeah now you got. To climb back up and what i noticed with my tamil back is its perfect for. Holding this guy in the back without actually annoying you so this is a. Skyline camel back and it’s got this. Little pouch at the front here which i keep like a tube and got a couple of. Tubes in there actually but what i noticed yeah this guy make sure it’s. Clipped up so it’s all in a now you know. I mean then. Yeah. and clip it in here. Right looks right that then just sit. With that perfect. Alright so 10-second summary it’s a good. Helmet it does exactly what i wanted to do i wanted to ride up without the full. Face chin bar being clip it on ride down. Feel safe a little bit constricted. Doesn’t breathe well with the chin bar on don’t climb with it with the chin bar on but if you want something that’s gonna keep your protective get one and thanks for watching until the next video. If not I’ll see you guys in new zealand.

What’s up internet I’m matt guff from house comm and I’m brandon at the house. Bike shop that’s right um we’re at. Actually at the new of the fairly new yeah redone bike shop there’s a sick. In here yeah beautiful shop again it opened up in october we kind of did a. Soft open we’ll be actually having a grand opening sometime here in the spring have some people doing some fun. Stuff in the parking lot have some good deals on stuff so i can check us out brats and beers yes awesome well brand. Is actually walking us through economic come of the key components and items. Here in the shop one that he has in hands right now is the bell super vh. Helmet this is how a might like when it’s on the shelves just automatically just kind of popped off like right up to me oh look at me yep what makes this thing so special this is a rather good helmet well a few. Things you know first of all it’s a bell helmet bells been around for a long time they’re huge in the motocross industry. Before they were big in the bike industry so i came from some motocross. Background as well so really familiar with them i love bells products they’ve always put out a solid product one of the cool things with this helmet and a lot of the bike helmets nowadays in general these full face helmets as opposed to like a motocross helmet you can see you have all this venting here so even though you’re not you know paddling down trails for 2030 hour two. Hours at a time you still run rippin some pretty fast downhill runs and that does generate a lot about heat as well so this is vented really well to keep. That body heat down yeah one of the other cool features obviously got a visor the visors completely adjustable and then the other. Really nice feature with this helmet if you’re doing a little less aggressive riding doing some trail you know or some. Lighter and gross stuff where you’re not worried as much about this protective part this actually does come off here. There’s one in the back. It’s actually not too bad right no. So that’s your whole like face protection piece that comes off and then you’ve just kind of got your standard mountain bike and arrow helmet still even this way a really cool looking helmet a sharp looking helmet and really protective the mips is a big kind of. Innovation in helmet technology what mips does basically is as you’re what. They what they’ve figured out over time is that you know when you’re crashing a lot of times the neck injuries happen from the bounce off of the ground twisting your head and moving in weird directions so what mitch does is it allows your healthier head as you hit the helmet can actually move around and. Not snap your head back as much so prevents a lot of neck injuries and head injuries really good technology yeah. It’s a good look at home and dial adjust ability to see if you had a better like crown fit yeah that real easy to. You just reach back here dial it in yep now when you ride with it with the helm with a visor do you generally move. It down do you move it up or does the super down hill have an adjustable advisory yeah kind of it depends on where the sun is in the sky first of all the time of the day it is depends on also the trail that you’re riding you know some are a little more covered by. Foliage and whatever else some are so kind it depends on the trailer riding and again what time of the day it is so just to keep that sun audio you know if you’re riding through a trail and you come out especially if you have that coverage and then you pop out and it’s really sunny line it this is really nice to just kind of tip your head down so you’re not you may have time for your eyes to adjust basically got it now when you’re riding around here in minnesota do you ride with a full face or do you generally ride second open-face yeah generally pretty much anywhere here just open-faced stuff the only time i really wear my full face is at the dirt jump bar before at like lifta sister riding spear mountain welts village either those places job you know or if you’re. Doing some rads like gnarly street right. Maybe but yeah for the most part is where you face unless it’s their jumping area right higher consequence riding yeah that’s good to know cuz like as a summer. Kind of approaches I’ve been looking at new gear I’m like man those full. Face helmets look really cool but i don’t want to be that nerd that’s that’s out there like look at that dumb guy oh the full face yeah go on five miles an hour on the cross-country trail the full face helmet on yeah it’s yeah well that’s awesome you. No again like you’re right now it has made a lot of really great head protection for a long time all my motors like the helmets our bell motorcycle helmets oh yeah it’s really good to see them do this kind of fun stuff yeah. In mountain biking and getting into the mountain biking side of it yeah and the bicycle side of it you know they’ve been involved with bmx for quite a while but again motocross if you look at like you know their history at the motocross goes way way back to the early 70s right. The bell moto one dude i think my wife. Has a old school bell moto3 yeah that. Her aunt had and i got whatever year will value in the bell that’s right. Awesome random tip speed here man thank you cool thank you guys for watching if you know buddy comes with questions about the bell super d-h downhill how much leave it below in the description remember to subscribe the. Channel they’re chicken more vids there hopefully we’ll see you guys in the dirt peace.

Revamping and upgrading on their previous design, Catlike’s outdone themselves with this version by serving up one-of-a-kind helmet technology. Never before has a helmet used the innovative material, Graphene nanotech, to cut out substantial weight, boost ventilation, and all without compromising your protection.
The feather-light Graphene nanotech is incorporated into the Aramid skeleton Catlike calls the Crash Energy Splitter, which does just what it says. In the event of a crash, the cage is designed to maintain the helmet’s structural integrity by dispersing the energy throughout. In addition, Catlike extended the protection for the back of your head and has integrated MPS eVo, a micro-adjusting fit system to ensure a proper fit. Catlike’s got airflow covered with 39 individual vents, and airflow channels with rear-facing exhaust ports to keep air moving the right direction. Plus, a ThermyTex treatment stops the formation of odors, absorbs sweat quickly, and is completely breathable and washable.

Go from endless powder days to mornings on the trail with the Bern Watts EPS MIPS Helmet. Offering true all-season versatility, this helmet passes both bike and snow safety certifications for fun all season long. Its baseball hat-inspired visor enhances your cool when you’re going big in the park or plummeting down the bike trail. The Watts starts with a lightweight shell, fuses it to an EPS foam liner to absorb initial impact, and then adds MIPS technology to absorb damaging rotational energy for protection when the jump doesn’t go as planned. The design is finished with a buckle closure and an adjustable dial system for a secure fit all year long.
For you, maxing out your hours on the trail is a weekly priority as soon as the snow starts to melt, which sometimes means you can be a little hard on your gear, so you make sure to be a little choosy when it comes to the big pieces, which is why you rock the Mavic Men’s Xa Pro Helmet. This rugged and trail-ready helmet is prepared to escape the daily grind, and head out for all-day weekend epics, thanks to its lightweight in-mold construction, and shock absorbing foam that soaks up impacts.
This trail ready helmet gives you coverage with a tough external shell, and in-mold EPS 4D impact foam that absorbs shock from big hits, claiming to increase impact absorption by a whopping 30% above where the industry requires. Its fit is rather adaptive, so it works for riders with all different shaped noggins, thanks to Ergo Hold SL for adjustability, and Live Fit technology that packs in XRD foam that contours to you. Long and punchy climbs can leave you with some excess heat, even on the cooler spring mornings, so the helmet is equipped with huge Clima Flow vents and airflow channels that keeps air flowing throughout for evaporative cooling while you ride. Against your scalp is Mavic’s 37.5 fabric, a material designed to use active particles to reduce humidity, and absorb heat from your head, and while we’re not sure how the science works behind it, we’ll do just about anything to drop the temperature a couple of degrees on the sweltering days, so we can stay more comfortable when we’re hammering up tedious fire roads.
We don’t like to think about it, but for each mile of singletrack you ride, the chances that you’ll be involved in an accident increase and when that time comes, you’ll be glad you have Mavic’s Crossmax SL Pro MIPS Helmet on your head and ready to brace for impact. Mavic doesn’t take safety lightly and this helmet does an admirable job of keeping you protected in the event of an accident while remaining lightweight and breathable. The addition of the MIPS liner adds additional safety and may help reduce injuries during certain scenarios.
Mavic shaped the Crossmax SL Pro to provide additional coverage on the vulnerable areas of the back of the head while keeping the helmet cross-country race weight, with a removable visor, and plenty of ventilation to keep you cool on hot, muggy trails. Mavic’s Ergo Hold SL Retention System offers plenty of adjustability, and comfort while keeping the helmet firmly in place for maximum protection. The fit is further bolstered by the Live Fit technology featuring memory foam that adapts to your individual head shape for a near custom fit that also absorbs vibrations and helps better disperse impact forces. Finally, the progressive padding, featuring 37.5 fabric, uses active particles for maximum comfort.
The Mavic Ksyrium Pro MIPS Helmet provides unparalleled comfort across long distances with its ergonomically contoured shape and head-conforming XRD foam. This means it’ll sit precisely on your head without any pressure points or uncomfortable hot spots causing you to constantly re-adjust the helmet through long-distance endurance efforts. Mavic’s Ergo Hold SL Retention System wraps around your head with the twist of a rear-mounted dial, allowing the helmet to fit precisely without excess movement at high speeds.
You’re probably aware of MIPS by now, but we’ll explain this leading impact-dissipating technology in a brief manner. Basically, this technology places a low-friction liner inside, which allows the helmet to rotate independently around your head, should you take a spill at an oblique angle with the asphalt, which is most likely to occur. This allows the helmet to dissipate rotational impact forces from being transmitted through the helmet, instead of just offering protection from head-on collisions like a traditional cycling helmet.
Besides its ergonomic shape and upgraded MIPS technology, the Ksyrium Pro MIPS employs 22 Clima Vents to rapidly evacuate built-up heat from cooking your head in warmer weather. Another impressive feature are the 37.5-embedded pads for moisture management and temperature regulation. This technology uses heat-activated charcoal sourced from volcanic sand and coconut shells to quickly wick moisture where it can readily evaporate, promoting an utterly cool, dry feel when you’re sweating it out on the road.
Hello and good morning he nice sunny day. And i thought right it’s a good time to. Have a look at them move mavericks early. And throw it hell that i bought recently. And i thought they owned the bike and that’s how they look. The ocean arrive and the first. Impressions are good. To the first impressions the wiis rule. Really nicely and it’s very comfortable. It was also some to use that same to the. Flay and the cassette or the hope and. There isn’t any place you just sold it i. Just wanted to clear this up because. That was a concern of mine when i first. Bought them before i pour them so in. Terms of weight the bike is now half a. Kilo lighter so it went down from eight. Point nine to eight point four kilos and. There is i bought these wings is to have. Lightweight on the bike and reduce i went to the right now how much of a. Difference that will make up he’ll also find out but i know when i went to my. First ride just the right a destroyed i. Could put the bike on a harder gear up a. Little climb around where i live and i. Didn’t feel fatigue if you imagine what. A half a kilo is it is slightly more. Than saddle bag with two inner tubes a. Multi-tool and the magic multi tools. Also one of the things that are really like, and they came with the wheels is. Thematic multi tools they are really. Good and i will show you why. So first of all the actors tire levers. So you don’t need to carry separate ones. And then to adjust the sporks one goes. Over and sits in and then second one use. It to hold the spork and then different. Sizes so you can hold the spoke why you. Adjusting the nipples so they are really. Nice you don’t need to carry higher levels you don’t need to carry a separate spoke to, and they fit nicely. Onto the nipple and the other one has. The ability to hold the sport in place. That is really good well thought of I’ve also reweighed the. Tires and the inner tube and actually. The first video i said the inner tube weighs a hundred thirty-three grams it. Actually isn’t i waited again i don’t know how that happened but i waited it again i need 92. Grams and that is staying ground lighter. Then that continental inner tubes and. Now to the spinning test see how long it. Lasts for. Now if you notice it’s not as noisy as a. Dps with hope now i didn’t like the. Noise but this one runs really quietly. And they still roll i also had the. Chance to clean the cassette the chain. And the bike now feels absolutely super. So next coming up is reviewing the waves. Of the hills and see how they feel i. Now they are very nice and quiet. They’re rolling really nicely and. Smoothly so we’ll see how they perform. Up the hills thanks for watching.
