This is a Black Diamond revolt headlamp. Ipurchased this headlamp to replace a double-a mag light had been using with a head strap. That offered very little adjust ability of the light. And it was a bit awkward. And hard to get the light. Where I needed it so. Idecided to upgrade to a real headlamp. Ilooked at several models the Petal ems house brand. And even Duracell and energizer semi generics from the big-box stores. Idecided that for $60. That said the best mix of features. And performance one of the big selling points for me was. That it can recharge its own batteries a USB that’s great for bike touring as. Ihave USB power available for my front hub. And voltaic solar pack performance of. This light in general use so far has been excellent it’s very bright. Ilike the adjust ability as additional features. That come in handy if.

You look on either side of the main spotlight there are two white floodlights which offer a nice diffuse general lighting for task lighting and there’s also red lights in here for nighttime use. When you don’t want to ruin your night vision. Or blind everyone else very nice feature set has. Some blank features too. That might be useful an emergency, but they’re kind of useless until such time. Now one thing Black Diamond doesn’t tell. You when you buy this. Or you’d have to read very carefully. Ididn’t notice it. Iread everything about. It was that it only charges black diamond brand batteries. This sounded very odd to. Me what the heck of their battery is doing. That are different than. Everyone else’s it runs on. Any double triple a battery alkaline. Or rechargeable z’ get a little bit better performance out of the alkaline because of the 15 volts versus the 12 on the rechargeables but in the real world the output is minimal difference.

And bang for the buck I’d just rather use the rechargeables is not a big enough improvement for me to go ahead. And put out coins in. That being said why do. They only charge Black Diamond batteries well. If you look at the bottom of the battery you’ll notice. That the bottom 3/8 of an inch is bare. This is a Duracell but I’ve stripped off the match there’s. And you’ll notice that the bottom side of the battery is exposed that’s because that’s. How that circuitry works. And I’ll show you inside. When you open this up. And you look at the end forgive. Me for shaky camera with my tablet has normal battery terminals just like. Anything else at both ends of the battery’s positives negatives. And it touches the end terminal of the battery. Now there’s this little duct right there. And there’s one under here. And under each end up the other end under the neck. And the other negative terminals. And what that does is. That makes contact with the side of the battery so. When the light is running it’s like.

Any other battery it draws off the two ends so. You can put an alkaline in. You can put anything in. When you put in a Black Diamond battery. Or a battery that’s been modified like. These the terminal touches the side of the case which is the negative terminal as well. This prevents people from plugging in the charger. When they have alkaline batteries in there. And giving a charge to an alkaline battery. Iget it I understand why Black Diamond did. That I have a problem with them locking me out of using a battery of my own choosing especially since. All of the big brand batteries have developed capacities beyond. What Black Diamond is offering these. One thousand milliamp batteries are 20% larger. Than the ones that Black Diamond was selling at the time with battery technology improving at the rate. It is I would expect to see 1200 milliamp batteries before the end of 2016 at least in the triple a size like.

Isaid I get it I understand why they have to do. That they don’t want people charging alkaline is by accident the workaround as. You can see is to strip away the insulating label material from the bottom three eighths on the battery do not do. This with alkaline batteries let. Me say that again do not do. This with alkaline batteries. If you forget and plug in the charging cable bad things will befall. You charge alkaline batteries is a very bad idea google. It’s such a bad idea. Idon’t even know how like Duracell charges them before. They sell them to you that’s. How tricky charging an alkaline can be.

You also don’t want to use the older nickel cadmium batteries Naik adds. They call them those are obsolete. Now and they require different charging circuits. Idon’t know what would happen. If you put one in here just don’t do. It the ones you want are nickel metal hydrides usually abbreviated ni MH then. It will usually offer the capacity in milliamp hours the ones. That black diamond are offering or. Ithink we’re either 750. Or 800 s I put in these 1000 dira cells. And it’s worked fantastically so. Ijust wanted to throw. That out there and say. That this is a fantastic headlight for the money works great but. You really should be able to use. Whatever batteries you want that’s my belief. And this is how you can do. It I hope this helps. Somebody and maybe sells a. Few of these for them. And everyone’s happy bye.

The Black Diamond ReVolt Headlamp is durable easy to use It is perfect for backpacking camping climbing It has got rechargeable batteries which is a stand out feature here which makes. It great for travel We are going to take a look at. All the features how to use the light. What makes it so great This is a fully featured light so. You have a couple of different settings. That make it really versatile but. It is also very simple to use So right here on the top. You have a single push button. That allows you to go between the different settings Stand out feature here. Something I want to mention first is. It comes with re-chargeable batteries So. This is powered by either three triple A alkaline batteries. It comes with Black Diamond rechargeable batteries One thing to mention with. That is with the rechargeable batteries. You have a little bit lower lumen level with those But.

That far outweighs the need to continue to buy extra alkaline batteries It makes. It perfects for travel. You are going to be away for a long time It does come with a USB cord so. You can charge these batteries right here on the side. You have a reliable long term use If. Iscroll through the different settings with. That single push button on top the first light. That comes on is that bright spotlight. That is in the middle So. This is a triple power LED It is very bright You have a total of 130 lumens at the highest level but. You can dim all the way down to four lumens So. It is a really great really bright spot light there You also have proximity LEDs on the side So.

Iturn those LEDs on. This is a great light for if. You are reading at night. You are looking at a map. Or looking at something close to. You don’t want the light to blind. You have two single power LEDs on the side And. This also has a red LED setting Basically. You need to do is hold down. That button on top until the red light comes on These are two single power red LEDs. This is perfect for night vision So. You are hiking and you just want to look at. Something really quickly. And don’t want to lose your night vision. You can turn these re LEDs on Something I really love about Black Diamond. And their red LEDs is. You have it set on. This red setting and turn. You don’t have to scroll through those other two white lights before getting back to red So right.

It set on red If I wanted to go back to white. Iwould have to do is hold. And then I go back to the white light. And the white setting A really great safety feature with. This light is the two proximity white LEDs. And the red LEDs have a blink setting or a strobe setting So. That makes it really nice and the two different white LEDs also are able to dim So. That big spot light. You are able to dim. And the two proximity LEDs. You can dim those down as well Something really convenient. You are traveling or back packing with. This light is you have got lock mode So. Iwere to hold down. That top button it will scroll through the red white. And then you will see a blue light on the side start blinking And. That means it is in lock mode So.

You throw this in your pack. You are traveling and throw. It in your luggage you can put. It on lock mode you don’t have to worry about. That light turning on accidentally. And draining the batteries There is a battery power indicator on the side of. This light as well And. You will see you turn the light on to begin with Right. We have got full battery so there is a green light. That turns on When the battery starts to diminish. It will go to orange. And then it goes below about 25 percent of battery life. You will see a red light So. You know it is soon time to change. Or recharge those batteries Speaking of batteries there is an easy to access battery housing So. Iturn the light upside down. Ican open that right there with my thumb.

And expose the batteries Right. Ihave those alkaline batteries in there but. It does come with those rechargeable Black Diamond batteries There is. Really easy to change out. Iwill mention this is very splash proof It is water resistant but. It is not fully waterproof so take. That into consideration before taking this out into the nasty weather Here on the housing you do have a nice tilt so. You can tilt this light up. And down to look at different angles And Black Diamond just has a really comfortable stretchy strap So. This would work really well on just on your head. Or wearing it with a hat You can ad-just. It down pretty small But as well. You are wearing a helmet like a climbing helmet. Even a bike helmet you can adjust. It to be really big to fit over top of. That All in this is a really easy to use fully featured light The stand out feature there is. You are able to recharge the batteries So. You have got really reliable lighting with Black Diamond It is the Black Diamond ReVolt Headlamp.

He what’s up guys Devin here with back country exposure. Ihave on the table today the Black Diamond revolt headlamp. This is a USB rechargeable headlamp. That runs off of three triple-a rechargeable batteries. That are included in the package. It uses a micro USB cable to be able to recharge. This thing is a hundred. And thirty lumens of power in a really compact package which is a fantastic deal. Isaid in a bunch of different videos. That a headlamp should be. Something you consider taking with. You out on the trail every single time. You go out and taking something like. That is just over three ounces in weight gets into a really small package is. Something that you’d almost be dumb to not take with. You so you’ve got a lot of different options in. This headlamp then make. It worth the money something. You should consider taking with. Now there are so many different headlamps available for you to purchase. And I’m not gonna say. That the Black Diamond is the only way to go but I’m going to tell.

One of the better headlamps on the market. That I’ve seen and been able to use I’ve had. Several Black Diamond headlamps over the years. And I’ve been very happy with the function of them. And the reliability of them battery life has also been awesome. And, so I’m going to address battery life here real quick. Because I’ve read in a bunch of different reviews. That people have complained about the battery life only lasting two to three hours. That has not been my experience. That could be with the just standard triple-a batteries. You might put in this but with the rechargeable batteries. Icharged this thing all the way up to 100%. And then I just turned. All the way to the highest power which is 130 lumens. It sits for 10 hours.

This thing sat on the hundred. And thirty lumen the highest setting for ten hours. And the battery still had not dived so. You tell if that’s. Something that is an indicator of poor battery life but my experience is. This thing will be super reliable. One of the things I love about. Ihave the option to charge in the field. Ican use a portable USB charger plug straight into the micro USB here on the side. Ican charge while I’m sleeping and know. That for the next day I’ve got a full 10 hours plus of battery life because of the different functions. Ihave for lighting here on. Now let’s go ahead and talk about the aesthetics of. It kind of the body. And such before I get into the specifics on the lights. Now you’ve got a nice wide elastic band. That goes around your head. It is adjustable it works well for putting on a helmet. If you’re climbing or.

You are doing a little bit of spelunking then you’ve got a nice wide band that’s going to be adaptable to different climbing helmets you’ve got a nice housing. That comes in different colors. And you’ve also got the option to be able to tilt the lamp up. Or down for different needs. If you’re climbing you might need. It down further you are trail running you might get. All the way up just a lot of different options for you to be able to use. This for different types of applications. Now let’s go ahead and talk about the power of the lights. That are contained in. This has five different lights in. It you’ve got a main LED light. That boosts your 130 lumens. That is dimmable you’ve got two LED lights here on the side. That are lower power two LEDs. That are also dimmable. And then you’ve got two red LED lights. That are also dimmable. Ithink that’s one of the best features of. Ican turn this on hold down the button on the top.

And then it will dim down to the lowest setting now. Idon’t have to go one setting like highest. And lowest I can go halfway. Ican reduce a little. And then I can basically have. Any light setting I want the other two LEDs to pop up I’ll just double tap. And then I’ve got the two lights they’re lower power a little bit wider beam. And then I can dim those as well. One thing to note about. It does not have a memory so. Icannot dim this down turn. And then turn it back on. And have it stays at the dimmed setting so. Something to consider. You are looking at a new headline to purchase still having the option to be able to dim. And increase battery life. And for what I’m using it. If for is I’m in the tent. Iam trail running and. Ineed a lot of light. Or less light I’ve got the ability to change. How much power of light is coming out of.

Now let’s go ahead I can get T. It can be hard to get the red lamps on here. It does have a strobe feature which. You click it three times yeah click. It three times it will get a strobe feature. And hold with that off then. Iwill get the red LED lights. And hold then they will dim. And then push and hold then. Iwill get back to the white light so lots of good options on. This different functionality for different uses really. You could get away with just the. One light it’s nice having all the different functions of the different bulbs. That are in it to be able to give. You the light you want for the application. You need it for so super small slim body it’s lightweight three. And a half ounces only $60 for a full on rechargeable headlamp. And super reliable I’ve had like. Isaid a bunch of black diamond headlamps over the years. And very happy with them they’ve never had. Any problems I expect to take care of my lighting needs out on the trail for a really long time so there.

It is guys that is the Black Diamond revolt headlamp so check out the link down in the description to purchase. This on Amazon you do so. It helps out my channel also please subscribe to the channel. You haven’t and hope. You guys have an awesome day.

I’ve got a package from Amazon today. This is the micro mini LED had clip light. Ibought one of these at Kmart a couple years ago. Ilove the thing lots of people out. It on their hat just like the little guy here in the picture but. It on a hat it but I’ve also discovered. Another use I prefer to use. It for we’ll go ahead. And open this up here. That is the fact I can put. This clip it to a lampshade in my bedroom. And instead of if the electric is off. Whatever I live in Florida. And sometimes he likes the electric goes off here with the thunderstorms. What have what I do with. II clip it to a lampshade beside my bed. And then I have a lamp there. Whenever the lights. If the electric goes out. If I’m in bed and electric goes out. Istill can just turn. This thing on just a little push button. It shines gives me enough light to move around. What happy to get the other things. Ineed to get a hold up. They want the electric is out. This is a push button design. It has a little a very snappish push button that’s very decisive. You push it’s not. One of those you don’t know. You push one two three four five lights on. It is very bright it runs on those little. Idon’t know what they call little quarter sized batteries but. This particular light is my favorite to have as far as a miniature like a great thing to have in a on your way carry.

It in your pocket for. That matter put it in your little 72-hour kit you’ve got extra light there just in case. You need it on your hat. You can clip it to your collar on your shirt. Whatever you want to do it’s got a very good wire clip on. It’s very small as. You can see but it gives.

Hey ready this is Justin out in a workshop for dirt polar outdoor. Ijust want to bring you a real cool review today on. Something near I was over at Dick’s Sporting Goods yesterday. And getting some tent stakes. Ijust like to nose around the camping section. If there’s anything new that’s cool. They had a couple of these on clearance. What this is a cyclops brand micro mini LED had clip light. You put on to the bill of your hat. And it’s got a row of five super-bright LEDs on. It with a simple push button. And it’s super light. And super small it was on clearance for $397. It comes with two a pair of these cr2016 button cells. What I think happened why it’s discounted is. Ithink people are probably pushing the button in there on those testing them out. And they’ve killed the battery so expect. You pull these cells are going to be dead mine word mine barely came on so. Ithink those are long expired but. You know these are. These are only a couple bucks maybe three. Or four bucks at the store. You know buy a pair of them so that’s not too bad so 397. Iguess it’s it is branded in. This duck commander duck dynasty branding here but. You know I guess that’s not the. Most popular shows anymore I’ll be perfectly honest with. You I’ve never seen the show so. It doesn’t really matter to. Me that’s just packaging and the packaging just goes away. And the light itself just has.

This little duck emblem on. It which you know that’s pretty outdoorsy so that’s pretty cool. You know it’s just a little tiny lightweight cool light. And that’s all there is to. It but as far as the light. It comes with this little contact information sheet for cyclops phone number. And website and an instruction sheet in French. And English with a diagram on how to change the batteries nice battery well-constructed casing tight battery compartment cover. Idon’t know if it’s waterproof but it’s certainly on there it’s not coming off button cell goes in their contact on the side. And the bottom I just swiped. This battery out of an old red dot. You can also use one of these cr2032 button cells it’s twice as thick so.

You can replace a pair of the 2016’s with. One of those it fits snugly. And nicely just to try. It out here get that guy back on their like. Isaid that’s nice and tight same thing with the Hat clip on the bill that’s not going to come off it’s nice and thick. And super tight you can wave your head around. That thing’s not going to come off line a five super-bright LEDs simple push button operation a nice stiff button. You can see that thing is super bright especially for the size of. It I’m gonna go ahead. And put the weight on there so. You guys can see how much. That is but that’s super tiny. Ithink I’ll either put. That on my hat or maybe. You can throw that in gear strap. It on a strap something it’s not coming off. Or throw it in a super tiny pocket in your gear someplace. Or just carry that in your pants pocket. Imean nothing’s tiny extra good backup flashlight that’s a heck of a deal for three dollars.

And ninety-seven cents. And a couple bucks and batteries. You can’t be that cool little light so anyway. This is Justin out in the workshop for dirt poor outdoor. Ifigured I’d bring you. That review you get a chance go over to dex maybe. Some other stores have. And just grab one up as well cool little light so. Ijust want to do a review on. And show you guys so remember don’t let your gear intimidate. And get out there camping thanks for watching we’ll see.

Everybody welcome to my messy room. Iwanted to do a quick little product review. Idon’t know if they don’t get in there but it’s called the Cyclops micro. What it is don’t you just love clamshell packaging what it is its a little hat a little light for your hat it’s only 10 lumens but. One thing it does really well is. It makes the sights on your gun pop out pretty well. Idon’t have because the camera light is on but. It makes the sights on your gun pop out a little better doesn’t add. That much weight to your hat whatsoever. Idon’t know about y’all let. All have the same issue but every time. Igo to a gun range it’s always poorly lit. Idon’t understand why I don’t understand why they don’t put lights in gun ranges the view the ones I’ve been through so far. You have fiber optic sights forget about.

It they’re not going to work. You have night sights. You got a better chance but. Ilike three dot white sides but. Most of the ranges I’m in. It doesn’t work too well. And that’s that little the little cap light comes in perfect let. What you think man is like eight bucks at amazon. You guys have a good day.

You need both hands in the great outdoors say. When rappelling down a rock face at night. Even just gathering firewood no headlamp out there is as rugged useful. Or as versatile as a surefire minimus it’s virtually indestructible LED delivers 1 to 100 lumens of light with a twist of its style which is easily operated with a cold wet. Even glove to hand minimus is housing is adjustable up. Or down 90 degrees to direct light precisely. You need it’s headband features a breather preme pad that’s comfortable. Hi gang welcome to the channel my name is Brian. And today I want to talk to. You about the Black Diamond storm headlamp today not an old man in the woods stick with. Me I build a fire okay. Now I’m sure you’ve seen. This headlamp on YouTube before it’s been around for a. Iwant to take a minute here — can. That can you should just show. Some a little bit different things from the videos. That I’ve seen on this thing first off the other headlamps. They have the main light here. And a little light here. And a little light here. One obviously doesn’t. It has the main light. And then there are two here but I’ll show them to. You here in a second. This is a new model for 2019 maybe 2018. All the videos I have seen on YouTube especially which are. All different they’re not like. One plus those are 350 lumens. One is 375 lumens pretty much. Everything works the same as excuse. Me pretty much everything works the same as the old ones except.

When you’re when you’re in your mode here. This little top button. It goes to a power and then read okay then. You hold it down for two seconds. It goes to the green. And then one is the blue okay. You turn you still have the side here for the extra power which the extra power. One is the top light here to read the green. And the blue are all coming out of. One thing before on the old ones. One color here and then. One color here and then back. And forth so I want to say. Ijust got this thing I want to say. Ipaid about forty or fifty dollars for it. It still has it has a good band to go over your head. It still has the tilt features. You know to aim it still has the multiple light levels are. You in there you can hold. It’ll dim down to its least amount.

And then you hold it again it’ll come back up. And then it blinks a little bit every time. It reaches its furthest destination. And then a little I don’t know. Ican do it on here a little light a little thing on the side little sensor on the side. You touch and that’s. Where your power comes in your 375 lumens. That has another feature well two features actually here’s your battery indicator but the other feature. Ilike a lot you hold down the little button here. And the right side of the big button hold them down together okay. That blue light blinking now it’s locked. And every time you hit the button it’s gonna remind. That it’s locked hold. These two down again for a couple of seconds I’m not holding them down here hang on hold.

These two down again for a couple of seconds. And it’ll come on now you’re back to. Where ever you wanted to be in the first place but. This is off then you’re. All set like I forget. How is 40 or 50 bucks for it, so they’re not real cheap but. They do help when you’re out trying to do. Something it’ll be campfire work on the car. Whatever you’re doing just have your hands-free so. You still have light so anyway just a quick video today to update. You on the new Black Diamond storm headlamp again it’s up to 375 lumens. And the range on while I’m thinking about. It the range on it is up to a hundred meters know. You can see that there. You go up to 100 meters for 375 lumens so that’s pretty good. Imean 100 meters that’s. What 300 feet I got my math right there anyway. It runs on four triple-a batteries. And they’re included. You buy the thing it does not run on these fancy high-tech rechargeable batteries like the 14 500.

You know whatever doesn’t run on. That just the triple-a batteries so again it’s pretty good deal. And it’ll save some aggravation. And headlamps are getting more. More popular these days too so thanks for being here hope. You learn something maybe gave. Some ideas a little bit. Once again my name is Brian. Iam an old man in the woods. It ever warms up I’ll be back in the woods again in the meantime stay safe out there folks thanks for watching we’ll see. You later bye-bye ok gang so are outside. You can almost see my neighbor’s truck over there it’s about 50 feet away. Iwould think this is my headlight goes right down to homeless. Nothing comes back up too bright. Now for the turbo where’s. That thing there I can say that’s about fifty feet away so.

Whatever you’re going to do. That tree is about ten feet. Whatever you’re going to do it’s gonna be plugging light.

Black diamond is known for making some very high-quality products. And the storm headlamp is no exception. This headlamp packs him. Several good features. And does not pack a high price my name is Chris. This is gear cash the storm headlamp has a peak brightness of 350 lumens which will give. You a throw distance of 85 metres. This mode you will get about 40 hours off the battery on the flip side the minimum lumen output is four lumens giving you a throw distance of about two metres. This will give you about 250 hours on the battery. This minimum light output is achieved through the red green. Or blue LEDs this mode. You have a maximum light output of 40 lumens giving you a throw distance of 8 meters. And a battery life of about 25 hours moving back over to the white LED. This has a minimum output of 90 lumens giving you a throw distance of about 8 meters. And a battery life of about 120 hours with. These different LED modes operation of the headlamp is actually not. That bad so the pressing the power button will turn the headlights on pressing and holding the power button will initiate the brightness adjustment mode. While holding the power button the brightness will dim until. It reaches its minimal output then begin to rise again at. Any point once you’ve reached the desired output. You simply Lexile the button. And the hand lap stays in its current brightness double tapping the power button will switch between spotlight.

And floodlights and within the floodlight. You can equally adjust the brightness of the light output the same way. You did in spot mode. You want to switch over to the red green. Or blue LEDs simply power the headline off then press. And hold the power button for about 2 seconds the headlamp will turn on in. Either red green and then from here. Once again operation is very similar to the white LEDs press. And hold the power button to adjust the brightness double tapping to switch which color LED. You are using the storm headlamp also includes a power tap option which allows. You to jump to the brightest light output available in. Any of the lighting outputs to do. This simply tap on the side of the helmet. And the head map will jump to the brightest setting tapping again will revert. You back to the previous setting now. You may want to practice with. This feature as a very rapid step may not quite get picked up. More of a slower tap will succeed so with various different lighting modes.

And plenty of control over. How bright your light is. They couldn’t possibly improve. This headlamp any further could. They well yeah they could. They made it IP 67 rates which means. It is completely dust proof. It can handle being submerged in up to a 1 meter of water. While still functioning just fine. Now the head lab does not float so. You do drop it in water you’re gonna have to fish. It out but so long as. It wasn’t submerged for too long. Or too deep the head level will continue to work just fine. Nothing had ever happened. Now to achieve this water rating the battery compartment of. This head lab is very robust the latch for the compartment is very secure. And opening it up you will find a very nice rubber seal ensuring the alsa elements stay away from the batteries which brings.

Me to the batteries the storm head lab is powered by four triple-a batteries which are included in the packaging however. These die you will be our charge of replacing them with your own. This means you will affect things such as the battery life. Even the weight of the head. That based on your decision. Now the head lamp weighs about two point four ounces without the batteries installed with the four triple-a Duracell batteries. That come with the headlamp. You end up with a total weight of about 4 ounces. Once again you swap. These out for a different battery. You may end up with a different total weight depending on the battery. You choose installing new batteries is quite simple. And the battery compartment is clearly labeled for the positive. And negative terminals for. Each battery’s position so to wrap things up. This headlamp packs a lot of features into attained a little frame.

And packs up small so won’t take up too much space inside your backpack. It has a lot of different functionality as far as LED color. Or brightness which means. That overall it’s really hard not to recommend. This product and with a three-year warranty black diamond stands behind. It — well that’s it for this video guys.
