Discount Shooting Optics – The Best 14 Riflescopes

Welcome back to the Moon Channel. Today I want to go over a new rifle scope from Nikon. It’s got the black X 1000 and sure you guys it’s hard. These scopes are so blackout. It’s kind of hard to show you guys like the logo on them. Whatever but they do look very nice.

This is a precision kind of long-range rifle scope. This is a six to 24 by 50 so a pretty good size scope. You can see it looks pretty much at home on top of this AR 10 for lack of a better term. You know, it’s a Smith & Wesson M&P; 10. This is a 308 caliber ar-15 will bite bigger than a normal AR. I used a p-series mount 30-millimeter tube and fits on their pretty nice. You know just a little bit of gap in between the handguard. This is a not a single piece mount. You look this is two separate pieces but they fit on the tube nice and fit on the gun nice.

The only thing I would say about these mounts. Though is you have to slide them on from the end. And sometimes that can be a challenge. You know like I had to take the rear backup iron sight off to do. This like I said 6 to 24 by 50-second focal plane. I kind of mentioned on my other videos. You’ll see here on the adjustment knob the other 18 power has an underline that’s the magnification. You should be using your calculations at one has an XML a reticle. And the XML a reticle looks like I believe I’ve got the reticle in focus but not. Anything in the background but anyhow that’s. What the reticle looks like. And like if you’re doing any MOA calculations with a scope. It should be on 18 power for those calculations to be accurate. It is a second focal plane scope okay so. I believe I’ve got the skill pointed at something far enough away. This is six power and I’m just trying to show. You guys what the glass looks like. You know this is tough to do. If you’ve ever tried to do this for the camera. It’s really hard to do but honestly the edge blurriness there is exaggerating a little bit by the camera. It’s actually very clear all the way out to the edge of scope.

It has excellent glass here’s kind of look at the other side of the scope so another interesting thing about the X 1000 is that the parallax adjustment is here on the side. It’s a turret mounted so you can see just kind of crank that knob up to whatever approximate range you’re shooting at. That adjusts your parallax instead of being out on the end of the bell. You know out on the end of the scope like a lot of them are eye relief is good. You know, I don’t have any trouble at all fine nice spot on the AR -. You know get a good sight picture. It which sometimes you put magnified optics like this on a are you know depending on the amount.

You have everything. It can be kind of challenge to get your eye relief good but. It seems to be pretty generous. And the reticle is also illuminated. You look at one up here. These are your different. You know brightness levels. One through ten. One thing I will say about all the knobs on this scope is that the way. These are cut like this pattern. Whatever it’s a very positive engagement. These things are stiff. You know they’re not going to bounce around. Whatever especially like the parallax that’s not just going to like flop around but the purchase. You get on this style of knob with these serrations whatever is really good your hands do not slip whatsoever on these. I am actually really impressed by. They have that sort of pattern on all the turrets. It works. It feels very nice. It’s too bright out here today too really. Even show or comment on the illumination of the reticle. Iwas in my house I was looking at it like yesterday it poured. It was very nice as it’s very bright looking it’s a nice red illumination out here in the Sun like. This today it doesn’t really show especially on camera doesn’t show up. That well but you know.

When you’ve got this kind of like. You don’t really need an illuminated reticle alright about a. Few different types of ammunition out just to shoot a. Few different groups with. It I’m not really going to spend a lot of time trying. That Maximizer shoot the absolute best group but. Ijust wanted to bring a. Few different kinds of ammo. These MMP tents have been proven to be pretty accurate. Idon’t anticipate really having any trouble there but. Ijust kind of want to get a feel for you know shooting some groups with the scope. You know how does the glass look. It at different magnification levels and stuff like that, so I’m going to set up a target. And I’ll probably shoot. I don’t know you just at least one group with each of these uh types of ammo but shoot a. Few groups in general. Ijust kind of get some rounds through the gun with the scope on and kind of see it looks see it works.

As you can see from me shooting it wasn’t exactly taken all day — and get the absolute tightest group. I was just kind of getting a feel for how the scope looks. It works you don’t have. Any troubleshooting. A few two-inch groups. One may be slightly important too but. These other ones are right about two-inch groups which. You know for the amount of time.

I put in I think it’s pretty respectable but. I can’t say this the scope is clear enough. It zooms in far enough. One of these shots like take for example. These five DRT shots. I can see like I was right here. When the trigger broke. And then you look back that’s exactly. Where the hole is so. It did seem to be extremely accurate especially with the better ammo. You know that American Eagle stuff is so-so but. These two are very accurate but the point isn’t so much about. How the gun shoots at ammo it’s. More about how the scope looks that’s kind of hard to really demonstrate in a video. You know I don’t have a good way of putting the camera behind the scope while I’m shooting.

I can tell you from my experience looking through the glass. It is crystal clear, it’s very impressive so I think it’s going to went over all the features of the scope. You know, like this is the MOA radical but they have an EM rad. You can look on their website to see the difference between the two-second focal plane yeah. I pretty much covered. You guys have any questions about the scope. I don’t think it’s going to live forever on this rifle, I just thought It’d be kind of good host to do a little bit of shorter range shooting with.

I kind of just approve. You know, most people are going to put this on a bolt gun but, you know, you do have an ar-10. You know pattern rifle maybe. Something chambered in 65. Whatever these 308. You know this will reach out pretty dang good so. You know if you’ve. If you’re looking to do. Some precision shooting with a semi-auto platform like. This it’ll fit no problem. hey what’s up. Everybody welcome back to the moon channel so a little. While back, I did a black X 1000 scope review with the mrad reticle today we’re going to talk about the. One with the MOA the X MOA reticle. And just to start off. We got it mounted on the Remington 700 here. This is my shorter barrel 16. And a half inch barrel 308 Remington 700 with the Magpul stock. This time we’ve got a black mount. You can see it a little bit but. This has you know the two caps it’s actually a single piece cap on. Each thing but it kind of has like double rings. This is the package from the mount. This is a 20 mm L cantilever style but. They do have like never like four. Or five different mounts. Now while back when. Idid the first video not. All of the mounts were ready to go but those are. All available now and then like. Isaid we’ve got the 6 to 24 by 50 illuminated ex-mo a reticle let. Me zoom in here and show. You guys this reticle. You can kind of get an idea of what it will look like on video sometimes it’s hard to show. These heck this is hard to show in the box there. We go its kind of hard to show through the scope with a camera sometimes, so we’re gonna try. That again today like last time. Ireally loved how. These knobs are cut there’s no way your hands are gonna slip on these it’s not like. It hurts or anything to grab them but.

You just get an absolutely excellent purchase on the knobs so. We got one click quarter MOA adjustments on the up-down. And left-right got your brightness settings over here on the left. Where you put the battery behind here. And then the parallax adjustment is. This knob here on the left which is a little different from. Some other scopes. You know a lot of times you’ve got the parallax adjustment out here in the front like a ring on the front of. It and this has a knob right here on the side so that’s pretty cool. These also have the return-to-zero style turrets so try. And show you guys that right here so let’s say you’ve made your scope adjustments. And you’re all sighted. And ready to go now. You can just pull up on the knob like. This and turn it into the others no clicks ok it’ll fall back down so here the clicks. You can just pull up on. It turns it and then drop.

That right down on to zero. And now you can make your adjustments from there. And you don’t have to worry about trying to unscrew. And anything take any screws out. Or whatever to reset the turret adjustment ring is here in the front like. You would expect and like. Isaid this is a 6 to 24. And it’s pretty stiff. Imean it’s not like it’s impossible to turn but. You can see the gun moving a little. When I do that it is pretty stiff but. It you know it’s gonna stay. Where you want however. One of the things that I’m very excited about to try. This time is their switch view zoom ring extension also from the black line. And just like it sounds it’s a little ring extension. That you can clamp on to the adjustment knob. One little wrench their clamp. This onto the adjustment knob. And then it’ll kind of stick up a little bit. And give you something to grab on to so let’s go ahead.

And install that now the switch views installed. And like I said this cuts on the knobs really helped with. It bite in and they want. You to Center it which. Imostly did but really in reality as long as. It doesn’t hit anything it’s fine. And having that on top is a huge difference. Iwould like to see. This included with the scope. You know I don’t think. It would be that much. More to attack on but it’s certainly a nice upgrade so. We got it on six power right. Now and I’m just you know it’s really it’s really hard to show. You guys through the scope like. This but I think we’re doing okay right. Now that’s six power. And then we’ll try to crank. It up here a little bit yeah the higher magnifications are really hard to do with a camera through a scope like. That but hopefully that gives.

You some sort of indication. And let me back this back down. And you guys can get better look at the reticle. Because if I do that. Iknow I can show it there. We go I can show it a little bit better on the lower magnification but trees you’re looking at are about well let’s use the rangefinder. And find out that the monarch 7 vibration reduction here. And we’ll just go ahead. And raise those trees real quick. Where we had the scope pointed. And we’re looking at about 315. You go up a little bit higher on the tree maybe 320 but right there at about 315 yards for those trees right there which is. What we were looking at going to show. You guys the illuminated reticle it’s actually on right. Now it’s on full power but. They don’t it doesn’t show up very well.

Because it’s really not meant for bright sunlight like. This you know it’s meant. You can kind of actually see. It there a little bit so. That works see the difference but anyway that’s the illuminated reticle. And you can see it like in person it’s fine it’s hard to pick up on camera but like. Isaid it’s more meant for low-light. You know in the early morning hours. Or whatever when you need a little bit of extra illumination that’s. More like what it’s for it’s not really like a red dot. Or anything but I’m glad. That goofy camera angle kind of shows. You the difference they use the monarch 7 to get. These targets set up at 100 yards. And then we’ll go ahead. And shoot some groups with the X 1000. And see how this X MOA reticle. And adjustments do first group. Ishot was the Winchester 150 green PowerPoint. Iwanted to do a hunting load just to kind of show.

That off so he saw 225. And really that one. Idon’t know this one up here was the second shot I’m not sure why it was high but. It was the rest of them were pretty solid. And then we shot one with the federal gold medal match. These 168 grain sierra matchking is very good 1125 probably would have been stellar. If it wasn’t for my. One on the right there but. That seems to always happen. And then the best group. That I shot was actually under an inch. It was 875 from DRT. And this is not the first time I’ve shot an exceptional group with. That ammo that stuff is really accurate hundred fifty grain 2950 feet per second frangible ammunition from DRT butI’ve always shot really good groups for. That stuff that about wraps. It up for the X MOA version of the black X 1000 like. Isaid the cantilever mount is very nice. These Black Series mounts are really nice mounts. And the adjustment knob. You know the switch youth extension thing is really cool to return to zero turrets are great.

This thing has really clear glass. Ihope it comes through on the camera as much as. It does in person the glass on these black series of scopes is just really clear to clear. It’s Dude. This thing is nuts like it’s weird Jake Took. This morning he was like this is the future no but seriously I was a little skeptical about they. First said they’re like oh yeah that’s a range-finding riflescope. It gives all your ballistic calculations. Everything and I was like I can dial better any rifle scope. And no, I absolutely cannot. I mean it’s like you can’t dial faster within good conditions with anybody who can you know, who can dial a rifle scope extremely well.

I can sit there and put two rounds on target before. They can you know put. One it’s its that fast. You don’t have to be good at dialing anymore in perfect wind. It reads I mean barometric pressure elevation. You know drop and compensate. It’s everything. The only thing you have to read is wind. If you’ve got no wind you just click the button shoot stuff at 1100 yards. It out at 1100 they were dialing at. Ihad my I had my speed off by just a little bit but at 1100 yards. Iwas within six to eight inches on target there’s just a little bit low that’s. It was crazy yeah. I shot my deer with that wen,t really well, 725 with this rifle.

This exact setup at the in the best scenario. You have it printed out. You know on your card but at. That point you still have to buy a nice rangefinder. That can read but atmospheric conditions so. You have to have a seven $$600700 rangefinder with. You at the cheapest. Ithink so and then. You gotta have a rifle scope. You trust the clicks on. You trust the calculation out to 500 700. You know 500 700 yards pull the trigger get the button pull the trigger that’s. It peoples hi I’m Marc Durham with outdoors man’s. This is the Swarovski optic ds5 225 by 52 a range-finding ballistic ally compensating rifle scope.

As you can see, this rifle scope is a little bit larger. Most conventional rifle scopes. This is a 40-millimeter tube as opposed to your. One inch in your 30 mils the reason for this is it’s range-finding capabilities so. This rifle scope does range find on the center crosshair. And then it will also apply a drop reticle to your exact ballistic load. It comes with the app from Swarovski called the DES configuration. You can adjust for your exact hand load. You can pick from a very long list of box loads out there Winchester Hornady browning pretty much. Anything you could ever imagine. You can dial in your speeds ballistic coefficient. Everything like and then simply put. It into pairing mode by pressing the plus. And minus button at the same time. And downloading everything on the app into the rifle scope. You get to that point. It is as simple as putting the center crosshair on your target clicking the back rangefinder button and then it will display your drop reticle.

You simply adjust up to display the drop reticle on your target. And pull the trigger. It will do everything for you without wind. And with no windage correction. You will have a dead-on hit at. It pretties much any yardage up to eleven hundred. And thirty yards every single time unlike other rifle scopes the DES is top turret right here does not house. Any impact correction. It is actually the housing for the battery which is a cr123a very common battery the tool to make your elevation. And windage adjustments. And then also the little allen wrench. Or a hex head you will use to unscrew the caps to reveal those elevations and windage adjustments after you’ve ranged your target and your D s is now just playing the drop LED reticle.

Feel free to move the magnification. Wherever you’d like to display the reticle. Wherever you’d like. This reticle in there is actually first focal plane as. You change your magnification the reticle will adjust in. That field of view it adjusts at a 120th MOA increment so you’re not gonna be ever find yourself in. This situation where your shot is for some reason ending up between. One of its adjustments. You hit the range-finding button. You find yourself at a yardage closer to its eleven hundred. And thirty yard max distance for ballistic calculation. And the reticle displays below your field of view you’ll actually see. It sees a little red arrow pop up pointing downward in the rifle scope that will tell you to decrease magnification.

And practice get it done right. That trophy deserves your best effort the setup on the ballistic turret is very simple. And doesn’t take long first go to the ballistic calculator. And enter the scope here using all of your load information. What distance you are zeroing for once you’ve inputted. This information the calculator will compute values for the colored dots based on 50 yard increments to change those values simply click inside the box. And put the distances. You want you have that information it’s time to hit print. And head to the range. Once there you’re good to disassemble the ballistic turret using the key. Provided unscrew the top cap next remove the three color-coded marking rings. And the coupling at. This point you’ll see two gears the top here is. What you’ll use to sight in the scope. You have your zero rotate the bottom gear clockwise to lock your zero in next put the coupling back on making sure to line the triangle on the coupling with the dot on the scope.

Now good to set the colored mark rings for your downrange distances start with the green dot first according to the information from the calculator. We need to adjust seven clicks up. Now place the green color-coded ring on the coupling insuring. That the green dot lines up with the white dot on the scope from here. You simply repeat the process for the yellow. And red color mark rings. Once you’ve set all the Rings rotate. It back to the zero position. And screw the cap back on the last thing you need to do is shoot at. Now let’s discuss the functionality of. This exact set up being a 35-millimeter tube does have limited options for mounts. However Leupold delivers some great options which are as tough as nails. And combat ready if the need arises You zero your scope with elevation. And wind age just as. You would with any other MOA type of scope. You just need to know that the measurements for a mil are three point six inches at 100 yards and the adjustment for both windage and elevation on this scope are one-tenth of a mil or 03 six inches for each click at a hundred yards.

Having the ability to get three full revolutions out of your elevation adjustment makes the m5 c30 lock extremely important. When at your zero the lock button protrudes at the completion of the first revolution. It sucks into flush with the surface and goes below the surface on the final revolution. It pops back out and locks. You get back to your zero the wind age knob is capped but. Another great feature. When is removed is the marking setup. It allows you to barely get out of the scope to make quick. And precise adjustment. It shows both left. And right mill markings using the range finder like the Luo pulled R X 1600. Some excellent features directly against a Bushnell elite tactical 35 to 21 DMR scope which has over the years proven to track true. And be darn near bulletproof stay tuned to see the results And back to zero next scope up for testing is the Athlon Argos BTR in six to 24 by 50 with Milla justments the scope overall is quite nice with a lot of features. That usually find on much. More expensive optics such as reticle illumination. And being first focal plane MSRP is $445 with the street prices being closer to 330 at the time of filming the turrets on. This optic feel quite good overall but the magnification adjustment is very stiff and somewhat of a painted turn.

The illumination also leaves something to be desired. I like the fact it has the ability to illuminate the reticle but the execution was poor at best with tons of light pollution spilling out of the crosshairs. All throughout the image on all but the lowest of settings. Ialso want to mention. This optic does not have a true zero stop. You can add a makeshift zero stop. And Athlon will provide. You with the necessary shims free of charge which is a very nice bonus overall this optic but I do want to give a fair. And honest review the Cabela’s covenant is a bit of the unknown in. This test at a $250 price point. Some great features including a really nice reticle. Some very excellent glass the glass clarity at least to my eye during these tests was on par with optics costing many times. Than the scope did one is the four to fourteen by forty-four millimeter model featuring a 30 millimeter main tube. And a reticle situated on the first focal plane the Turks feel good. If not a tad bit mushy the magnification ring moves freely with just enough tension to trust. It will only spend you want. It to no zero straw for illumination available.

It is only available in MOA but. It really does have the best optical clarity out of. Any of the budget scopes compared today. Iwould put the clarity on par with the Bushnell DMR. That is our baseline for this test yes. It really is that good so. One is MOA it’s not Mills, so I’m gonna want to go up the next scope in the lineup is the all-new vortex Diamondback tactical FFP. One is in mils and like the name suggests. It is a first focal plane scope. One is for two sixteen by forty-four. And features exposed target turrets with a really excellent layout easy to read nice feel the turrets.

However to not lock. And there is no zero stop available the reticle is the EBR to see reticle which has proven itself to be an excellent reticle design over the years the turrets. And magnification ring have great tactile feedback. And the glass is quite good but the eye box at a full sixteen power does get awfully small. You have a good ergonomic setup on your rig there shouldn’t be an issue but. It could catch some people out with a subpar setup the last cup in our lineup today is the Bushnell engage the engage is a newer line of optics from Bushnell. That incorporates some nice features for not a lot of money well. You can only get the engage in MOA. And second focal plane. It is still a very usable optic. One mounted on my very favorite hunting rifle Browning ex Bolton seven millimeter Remington Magnum the engaged scope is held up on.

This light rifle with a pretty stout loading in. This cartridge but 162 grain Hornady LDX moving along at three thousand. One hundred and seventy feet per second has. Nothing to sneeze at. And the engage handles. It well the deploy MOA reticle is a very usable reticle. Though in order to use. It as designed for range estimation. Or measuring you do have to be at a full sixteen power. This can be a hindrance in. Some situations the optics are very good. And the turrets are of a pull to unlock design. They have a good tactile feedback in the power ring is easy to adjust overall. Igive it good marks five minutes outs of. One two three all right. That we’re back home. What does this tells. Ithink the most important thing. It tells us is don’t go out. And shoot on a day as windy as. And expect to shoot from a platform without major shot disruptions.

That wind was actually physically blowing my truck around to the point. I was shooting off the tailgate. It was blowing it to the point. Whereas you can see from the groups down here. That gun is its accurate. And consistent enough. This should one ragged hole. It typically is I was laying down prone. It probably would have been but because of the wind conditions. That head-on wind it was hitting my truck broadside. It was moving the truck twists in the truck the suspension was moving around. And bouncing around. I could not get a super steady shot just from the wind gusts so. You can see everything is kind of spread around. Idid get lucky a couple of times the bush. All engages were pretty close the Cabela’s covenant was pretty close time back tactical had a little bit of spread on.

These are the three shots from the DMR the Bushnell DMR here’s. Another Athlon down here so a lot of. This may not be scope tracking so scientifically. This doesn’t give us a great data set but it’s. Something interesting to look at so. Iwent through I did the math on. Everything and you can see. This was the aiming point on the target. Itried to get video of the bullet impacts but again. It was so windy it was pushing the camera around on the tripod really badly so from point of impact. Or from point of aim. This was the constant point of aim. I never deviated from that point of aim we can look up here the Diamondback tactical.

That was two point nine mils. Idialed three so two point nine that’s pretty darn close the Athlon is as well as two point nine. One mils so both of those almost exact. You know exactly the same. Idid dial 329 two point nine. One so it’s a tenth off. And again that could be the truck getting blown around here’s the Bushnell engage. That shows up at ten point five Moas. That was 11 inches so that is ten point five Moas. Idid dial ten so that’s pretty darn close the DMR three point two six mils so 1/4 mil high from. What I dialed and then the Cabala’s covenant. I dialed 15 total I ended up with fourteen point eight Moas so that’s pretty darn close so again the room for error there is probably in the wind blown the gusts.

That so then let’s see so the DMR was the first scope. That was again three point two six mils from point of impact. Or from point of aim to point of impact three point two six mils then. We went right that was. One point eight mils was the impact. And then we went left. That was two point five mils then. We shot the Athlon right here. That was two point nine. One mils I dialed three total. We went right that was two point three six mils right. And left one point eight seven five mils after. It was the Cabala’s covenant. I dialed fifteen point. Or 15 mils or 15 MOA excuse. Iended up impacting fourteen point eight Moas so. Iactually wrote this out as mils but. That is the correct conversion for MOA so dialing right.

That came out at six point six nine MOA dialing left five point. One three Moas and then came back down. You can see impact number. One impact number two so. That actually worked out pretty well that’s fairly consistent coming back to point of original point of aim from there. We did the Diamondback tactical. You can see this was shot placement number. This was the follow-up shot so Diamondback tactical. We dialed three mils. We ended up 29 mils in elevation dialed right Diamondback tactical was 18 mils right next to the DMR dialed left the Diamondback tactical is one point five nine mils. And then back to complete zero. You can see the second impact right here right on the line so. That was actually fairly consistent again. When definitely played a factor their last. One was the Bushnell engage. I believe this was shot number. One then we dialed up Bushnell engage ended up hitting at 105 Moas dialed right.

We ended up at 57 Moas. And then we dialed left at 43 Moas. And then back down you can see shot number. And then shot number two here. And then I dialed down 5 Moas. Iended up impacting almost 6 MOA lo so. This was shot number 3. That was the only that with so. This here is you know just basically with. That wind that shooting platform. What does that tell. You know it does show. That dialing back down to zero after cranking the turrets. All were fairly consistent so that’s a good thing they were also fairly consistent with my shooting dialing up as. You can see they’re. All kind of grouped here dialing left. And dialing right all fairly consistent so. Some of these shots were definitely thrown. Some of these shots were moved around from my shooting platform being moved by the wind but overall. I would say they were.

All good performers. I would trust any of them. Iwill definitely get back out. More testing and calmer conditions. And from a more stable shooting platform. Iwas shooting it’s a little too dusty to be shooting from prone on the ground it’s. All very fine silica type moon dust dirt. And shooting headlong into the wind is just a way to a good way to sandblast your teeth your rifle. And your optics, so I didn’t want to do. That anyways this was informative to. Hi guys welcome back to the channel. You guys are doing fantastic, so I’m excited about. This scope right here. This is gonna be a first look. Iactually gotta here in the channel for a couple months already. Ihaven’t being able to mount. Ihaven’t being able to go to the range. Anything like that but. Iwanted to put a first look video gonna give. Some specs and at the same time show. It looks in the rifle as well as tell. We got videos coming up on. This scope this rifle. This is a par metal state. They are 10 you guys know there have been. Some controversy on. This rifle some people say it’s not accurate. Some people say it’s not accurate. Igot a nice sculpt on. It so she’s not given. Ishould be able to put rounds on target pretty good. Or the rightful suck. One of the two you guys see. Me shooting this rifle in the past. What I was using was. This loophole right here. This is a 4 by 12 loophole kind of like the budget scopes. Idid a video on it again. You know the problem. Ihave with this scope right here was the simple fact. That at 200 yards I was able to see the target but wasn’t able to see detail so the target again. Iwas able to see a target right so. Iwas able to see I was able to identify. What it was but I wasn’t really able to see. Any detail so I decided. Iwanted to get something with. More magnification this vortex Diamondback tactical is a 6 by 24 by 50 so again. This is a 4 by 12 right so. Now we’re looking at a 6 by 24 so.

Ishouldn’t have any skews. Ishould be able to see really well 200 yards in fact. You go to the vortex website. They say this is for long-range shooting and. Even talked all the way up to a thousand yards obviously. You may have a scope. That does that but. You gotta have a rifle. That does that as well. You gotta have a shooter. That is able to do I mean it’s a combination of for scope. And a shooter and the training and. That it’s just not a scope right so again. This scope right here should allow. Me to be able to pull rounds on target really well. Ido got some 308 mash em oh there. Iwanted to test as well shoot.

We should be able to get nice groups on. This rifle hopefully. Now big shout out to OpticsPlanet. They did send me the scope here to the channel for me to test for me to check. That provides this capabilities. That we’re about to talk about right really it’s a good price. You look at some of the cheaper scopes. You know you’re looking at up to a hundred dollars. Something like that you’re not gonna get things like. This disposed tactical ters the other college. And things like that you’re not gonna get. How clear this scope is the glass is gonna be fewer qualities. And things like that so again. You know $299 by no means is a penny. Me personally I had to. Ibuy stuff like this cuz. Ibuy gear all the time. Ibought a ton of gear. You know I’ve been doing I’ve been buying gear before jar is 6 was jars is 6 right. Now I’m being in this cave for many years but again. You know $399 it’s the kind of thing. You could save your pennies. And be able to afford. It comes to the higher scopes from vortex like the racer. And things like that you’re looking at. You know $89000 that in my opinion that’s just too much for me right.

And typically guys that spend a thousand dollars on a scope. All right guys they really know. What they’re doing and. They know how to shoot. And things like now for 400 bucks it’s gonna allow. You to get into actually kind of like the long-range shooting got a really nice price to. That brings a lot of capitalists. Now let’s look at the box right here. How you’re gonna get. And the box I mean obviously it’s packed really well. You guys know Vortice has a great warranty. Idid stuff right so again vortex is. Now a new guy in the block they’ve been doing this for a long time. You know they provide really nice scope so. Imean the scopes look fantastic look really nice. It doesn’t look super heavy. You know but again this platform. Ihave right here it’s just heavy overall there’s. Nothing like this rifle. Ihaven’t waited I will wait the rifle but like. Isaid there’s nothing lying about. It does come with the sunshade right here to help.

You reduce glare that stuff. Ihaven’t even taken. Idon’t think I’m gonna use. Because it’s just gonna out of way. Idon’t like that much but again. You know it comes with. It comes with a little baggie right here okay. This is to clean the glass that’s pretty cool. Some paperwork he actually comes with the bikini covers which. Ihave no idea I put him I’ll put in. Some place all right here. Idon’t think I’m gonna use him. Neither maybe it to put him to save. Something like I like to get. Some caps I just don’t like the elastic going around the scope always gets cut up with. Something and things like. That but that’s pretty much. What comes in the box. Now guys the amount. We use him for the scope here is gonna be from Vortice as well. And again there’s gonna be a link down below for you guys.

It runs for about 130 dollars for this scope. And again it’s nothing fancy it’s not quick detach. Anything like that but then again I’m. Now looking to quick detach just scope out of the rifle. This scope is gonna stay in. This rifle primarily Boone done deal so hopefully. Even take and hopefully. He works fantastic so again. You know it’s nothing fancy but. It seems to me like a good deal for about a hundred. And thirty dollars I like the motto. It looks so no much complaining about. That hopefully works well. And we’re gonna see. That on the shooting portion of the video. Iso let’s get with the specs right. And first of all is the first focal plane scope. You don’t know what’s the first versus the second I’m gonna link down a video below. That it’s gonna explain to. You exactly what’s the difference between the first. And the second and a lot of people get into debate a lot of people like. It a lot of people some people like.

One versus one I’m not gonna get so much into. Me personally I like him. Iguess in a way I’m not so much a fan of. Or the other one so far so first focal plane. What it means essentially is. You look through the scope. You are assuming into a target your reticle in the inside is gonna zoom in as well apparently is based on the position of the reticle. Where the reticle is place inside the scope again there’s gonna be linked a video down below. You finish watching the video check out our video. That video explains really well the differences between the first. And second focal planes but again. You know the first you assume the scope the reticle is gonna be submitting as well the cool thing about. Whatever you have you hold over again they’re gonna be they’re gonna be affected.

Any range essentially with a second focal plane. And again you know. This is my understanding is. That typically you have to zoom in to the high magnification to be able to get accurate shots on those markings in the reticle right first focal plane scopes no matter. You 16 18 20 20 whatever magnification. Whatever hash marks. You have as holdovers are gonna be true to. You don’t really have to swimming to the highest level to be able to use those hashtags coming down in the reticle that’s good. This scope right here is a six foot 24 that’s a lot of modification so sometimes. You don’t want 24 you okay a 16:18 so. You still want to be able to use those. All overs on the reticle so that’s pretty cool about. This scope they talked about the warranty. You guys know the warranty on vortex produce. It shockproof waterproof everything-proof right so again.

Anything breaks you should be able to send. Something bad happened. This should be able to fix. Isee things like this as a long-term investment. You have such a good warranty. Because again you know. It breaks I just sit in the back. Iget my money in return. Iget a different scope. Or the fixing whatever. It is so as long as the companies around. You have a scope for life in a way so a couple. More specs right here. Irelief it’s gonna be about 39 inches like. Isaid it’s gonna be a reticle the reticle is gonna be first focal plane. And the reticle in cell is cold eb are tagged to see andI’m actually gonna put a picture right here for you guys to see.

And again one of the things about scopes like. You really need to understand the reticle as. We do the shooting testing of the video I’m gonna sinking into. That reticle to truly understand the reticle. And truly understand the ammunition. You use I mean the reticle gray. All those holdovers. That but it has to kind of match your ammunition so keep. That in mind so you need to scope the way. It works 6 by 24 by 50 so essentially 6 that’s gonna be the lowest magnification. That you’re gonna have so you’re kind of gonna start on 6 back here so again that’s why you see. All the scopes that is 4. Or 3 by 9 3 by 9 so a very common. One is 6 so obviously. You need a little bit. More distance from and the target right so 6 by 24 24 is gonna be the higher magnification. You can go again like. You the first scope right here. This is a 4 by 12 so essentially.

This scope pushes out twice the distance oh. This little loophole scope right so 6 by 24. And the ejecta is gonna be 50 so that’s. This right here they got ejected a lot of lies comes through. He makes that glass very clear. Ijust gonna show you a quick example right here. This objective right here. You guys can see how small. It is compared to that obviously it’s a bigger scope. And it’s just bigger so not. Nothing much you could do about. He has a supposed tactical turret. And again you see the difference between. One right here essentially in. This case you kind of have to like open. It up right you open. You had to again you know moving around. Icould fill him I don’t want to mess around with. That too much but then put the covers back up. Now there’s kind of like a pros. And cons on this right here a lot of people like.

You make the adjustments. You cover her up and that’s. It no one’s gonna touch. You bang the rifle against. Something it’s just gonna be okay. Because again once again there are protected so. This is not necessarily a bad thing but the bad thing I guess in a way is. You have to make an adjustment. You have to unscrew. Once again you have to make an adjustment. And then you have the little piece. You have to plug it back in their right so again there’re good things. And bad things on this right here. You don’t have to do. You have to make an adjustment. You have to do is pretty much. You know make an adjustment right so again the. It feels good it doesn’t feel bad at. Istopped making the switches right here. Ihere again doesn’t have. Any issues I could feel as I’m going through the changes.

Icould feel it really well. And again I could hear as well obviously. You have a zero what I like about. This zero is you zero. This right for just keep. That in mind you go to the range. You zero out of hundred yards right. Whatever you do typically out a hundred yards on. This rifle you could detach. Or like unscrew it there’s a screw up here. And then you could match the zero to the zero over here. And then you screw the cap back home so. That does is that no matter. You can always come back to the zero so let’s say. You make a bunch of adjustments rights you’re shooting three four hundred yards. And you’re going Albright. You know side-to-side. Whatever you’re going right you’re going all over the place.

You kind of forgot many clicks. You weren’t laughing click went to the right. You could always come back to. That zero you know. That a hundred yards you’re gonna be on target so. Ido like that obviously. You have three you have right. And left up and down. You have your parallax up here which. Ithink is all the way to infinity so again very nice. They do feel really nice like. They just feel really nice not much complaining about. Ido the shooting video. Ishould be able to tell. They track they do on. This scope right I have seen. Some videos with guys doing some tracking with the ters. They seem to work really well so. Idon’t have a scale but according to the website it’s gonna be about twenty-four point six ounces obviously it’s made out of aircraft-grade aluminum.

And that’s very common for a lot of scopes. And back here you’re gonna have. This thing I think it’s called a fast focus eye. Something and again. What it is you could adjust the reticle to your ISO really nice. It moves okay so again everybody’s eyes are different so. You may be looking through the scope the reticle may be looking a little bit fuzzy. Whatever you can adjust. That back here which is good to have especially. Me I’m starting to get older. And my vision is starting to get a little bit messed up apparently. You know I’m refusing to be old, so I’m not gonna wear a glasses. Now guys one thing. Iforgot to mention. Iwas talking about the scope is in the mouth is. That the tube is gonna be 30 mils. That’s very common a lot of scopes are set up in. This 30 mil tubing right so again. That tells that later said ton amounts out there. Igot to tell this mount. One like I say $$120130 but sort of.

These mounts are going to insane prices. You know in the hundreds. And hundreds so again. You know one is been a good hopefully economical choice. That it’s gonna let. And allow me to put rounds on target well. And that’s something. That is gonna be coming up in the shooting part of the video right but again 30 mil tubing which is very common. Many scopes are running that’s half a size so it’s gonna have a hard anodized finish. And obviously it’s black but the glare is really nice colleague mate so again. It doesn’t push out a lot of glare which is fine it’s supposed to help. You with camouflage. And concealment you don’t want to have. Something that it’s gonna be really clearly blue. Even notice that’s a word but. You don’t have something. That is giving away your position so again hard anodized finish very nice. It doesn’t really match. This rifle as well but again. This rifle doesn’t really match at. All eventually I’m gonna get a spray can. And probably spray a spray the entire rifle.

And make a look one color but again the finish is nice like. Isay the construction is really nice. You could just look at. You could be like wow it’s a nice scope. Nothing to say about. That like it looks like a nice scope. And the quality is totally vincible on the scope like. Isaid the glass is really nice it’s really clear but. Iwant to talk about. Ido the shooting portion of the video. Or the testing right but again. You know just by messing around. And looking through the scope the quality looks good. It looks very clean so the only thing. That I’m gonna say is kind of bad is. That the reticle is not illuminated that’s. Something you know. Some higher scopes do have sometimes it’s nice to have. That illumination inside the inside of the scope but to. Me it’s not gonna be completely a deal-killer. Anything like that but keep. That in mind one thing. Icome to find out from Bortas is. That the battery kind of sucks. Ihave had several vortice.

You know holographic red points. And things like that in for whatever reason their batteries. Or their products that have batteries. They suck the battery gets wasted really quick. And that’s something. It has happened in some of the products. Ihave had again you know the strike Eagle. One white whatever. Idid here in the no. That was really bad the spark. Ihad hidden in the channel they’re pretty bad with the battery so again. You know not having to illuminate. It readies go to me it’s fine. Idon’t think I’m gonna use. It maybe I changed my own app but that’s. Something you should keep in mind hi guys there. You have a quick look at. This board test Diamondback tactical first focal plane scope I’m freaking pumped about. It big shout-out to OpticsPlanet for sending this to the channel stay tuned cuz. What I’ve put it through leading up to that time.

And really the optical quality is what stands it out as top-of-the-line the low light performance really is almost unmatched. And you know you have no worries. That you’ll be able to see your target. When it’s the most important time of day. And then you’ve got other features just like we’ve done with it, you know, the outside of its just a good-looking scope its sleek. It looks good on the gun. And it’s not something that’s gonna get in the way it’s but it’s a good complement to. Any good rifle knowing. That this line is the top of the heap. When it comes to optics but. More consumers can afford. It that’s something. That we’re really excited about hey.
