What’s going on guys time for a little quick review, nothing fancy, but I want to show it because it is nice, a new mug, I’ve, gotten uh, it’s called backpackers mug, I believe that’s the model of it. It’s made by gsi outdoors. You got like a little fabric handle here. It’s really comfortable to hold and really good box stitching on that thing and really lightweight it doesn’t weigh hardly anything at all. This is the blue color.
This is like some sort of padded fabric to keep your liquid inside cool or hot, and it works really good. I’ve already used it a few times. I’m getting ready to use it again because I’m back at camp and I’m gonna have some coffee. I’ve been doing camp chores but yeah. I’m gonna boil some water with my camp stove, which is off to the right right here. Um. As you can see, I don’t want to make a fire because it was windy earlier, but yeah this is nine bucks is all it cost.
On amazon I was like wow. I need to try it many colors blue orange red. I think there was a yellow. I believe there was a black one too. I I don’t know I can’t remember now um I’ll post the link below in the description in case you guys are interested in checking this out, I’m not affiliated with amazon. If you were to click it and buy it, I get nothing. It’s just there for you guys if you’re interested in it awesome lid from sipping out of like your liquid I’ll.
Let you see that really well made really cool design it clicks down in there, so it doesn’t move which is awesome and it has like this rubber little o-ring. So things don’t spill out and yeah I mean that’s, really secure, so that’s cool and then you got this little clip for the front that keeps it secure there when the lid is closed. So let’s go over the inside. It’s just like an alkaline water bottle I’ll. Let you look at the inside of first of the actual product, this little carrying case thing.
It’s really neat, but it’s really well made and it’s really cool. Looking nice rubber bottom really good, stitching quality, and I dig that color. That blue is awesome. The lid has a really nice o-ring on it and I have not had any problems with things leaking as long as you keep an eye on that o-ring um it is, it does move a little bit from time to time. That’s alright, though it’s a little dirty as you can see, I’ve used it and it keeps the liquids from falling out of there.
You know air tight seal, so nothing spills, but that’s the lid holds two cups of liquid and it’s a really thick but lightweight material um. I got a little bit of water in there because I’m getting ready to make the coffee. As I said earlier, I have had absolutely no problems with it so far and if things go amuck I will keep you guys, updated and do an updated video but yeah I’m getting ready to make some coffee.
My favorite coffee, as you all know, instant wise. Is this mac espresso three-in-one! I love this stuff, it’s my favorite! So let’s end this, that’s good enough! I’ll see you guys on the next video. I hope each and every one of you are doing well bye for now.
Hi this is Dan Ashe asset or e^x petitions, and today, I want to talk to you about the backpackers mug from GSI outdoors I’m, curious little mugs for the last 25 years, all around the world and I’ve carried all kinds of different ones, metal, worms, plastic ones, titanium ones and I’ve trashed, a lot of them. I’ve lost a lot of them and I’m tore a lot of them up, and this one is my current favorite that I take everywhere with me: I like the fact that it’s non leaching polypropylene, but it’s super lightweight, has this little, not lightweight nylon handle and it comes with a lid, some mugs that you buy, don’t even come with a lid.
You have to buy the lid extra so and it has an insulated sleeve on the outside of it. The thing that I really like about this is well number one. It’s like ten bucks, it’s nine, ninety five, but it’s basically indestructible I’ve and titanium mugs. That I’ve spent a lot of money for then I throw my pack down somewhere on some mountain and I, get them all smashed up and ended up this thing.
I’m carrying around and it’s basically destructible, it looks pretty good, considering I’ve carried it all around and used it for different things. This is my go-to tea drinking mug. Now so, if you’re into something not going to cost you a lot of money, indestructible insulated comes with a lid, definitely want to check out the GSI.
Yeah guys since I was out here today, make myself a little lunch on this gorgeous early, marching, I figured I’d share with you guys, one of my favorite pieces of kit for hiking and backpacking, probably a half, that’s and I picked up. This mug I want to say at least about a year ago, if not longer and have been extremely impressed with it, and that would be the GSI affinity insulated coffee, mug, some along those lines, I’ll have data to that.
It’s a pretty long one, but the Infinity mug by GSI. This is a knot and metal cookpot for these popping you’re not gonna, be able to cook in this thing, but it’s for keeping a drink hot. It is fantastic. This mine is a older version. This is a pretty probably pretty 2015 version. As you can see, it’s got some graphics on it. There for Christmas I got my kids their own, which is right here. This is the new version.
This is what is most commonly found online. This one and I believe there is one a blue can still be found, but in stores this is probably what you’re gonna find and other than the graphics change the color. There really isn’t any difference. So, let’s take a look at this really quick here. This is the packaging that comes with that’s all of it. I like it minimal packaging, not a huge box or anything the waste.
All it is is pop the lid off, and this thing pops right over so really easy to remove and recyclable. So that’s a week, nice low respects real quick for you. What they have on the package here is an old 17, fluid ounces, so it’s actually holds but a bit more than it looks. It is four inches by three point: six, five, four point: six inches and the weight total weight on this thing is 3, 5, ounces or 99 grams, and that’s why I like it? It is so lightweight.
Of course it comes with a insulated cozy, and this is a polypropylene cup. So at the dishwasher safe, it’s not supposed to leach anything out of the material into hot liquids or cold liquids. It’s recyclable! It is considered a green product going to GSI anyway, I guess they use recycled materials to make. It is my understanding and damn near indestructible. So, like I said, you’re not gonna put it over fire, but you can put a hot drink and they’re not worried about it, and what this cozy and the lid here had a lid that seals.
It’s got a rubber gasket here on the for the sippy spout that goes into place there and you open it. You can actually pop it and it will lock open. It’s got a really nice rubber seal around the interior of the lid there. It makes this thing pretty much spill proof once you put it all together and just the fantastic fantastic up here. I’ll show you mine, mine has been through the dishwasher, not the cozy, of course, but the both the lid and the cup part at least two dozen times, if not more, and it is good, isn’t it just fantastic and in case you’re interested these do nest very nicely.
Here’s the GSI glacier cup, it’s in there, just perfectly I, tend to use my number-one cook bought. The last couple years has been the Snow Peak. Now this is from the mini solo cook set was in there and the lid fits on perfectly. So you can nest this thing to get it in a Snow, Peak I cut the handle off. I didn’t find myself using the handle anyway, and it just made it too tight to fit in here. It fits in the glacier cup no problem with the handle on, but I wasn’t using it anyway Shay’s a couple grams I guess not that it cares, but it fits- and this note be perfectly then look guys like I said I’ve been using this one for over a year now absolutely my favorite coffee, mug I’ve used a few I’ve used my titanium pot as a coffee, mug I just find the transfers, the heat so fast.
That thing stays hot use, the glacier cup, which I don’t mind. Actually, but again it doesn’t have a lid. It’s not insulated. It’s not gonna hold that heat in as well, it’s great if your winter camping and you can put it on a stove to keep it warm and also you can cook with it, which is nice, but for a pure hot beverage container to keep stuff warm. You really can’t beat this thing so light so versatile and almost indestructible.
So again it’s the GSI infinity backpackers mug, and you really can’t beat it guys. Take care.
What’s up guys welcome to southern hike, I’m taylor and today we’re talking about infinity, backpacker mug, let’s roll the intro, you know if you’re like me, one of the most important things when you’re backpacking is when you wake up and have a good cup of coffee. It’s the way. I always start my day. So it’s always important to have those essentials with me when I backpack one of the things I’ve always tried to figure out is: what’s the best way to carry a mug with me.
When I go backpacking you can have a cup or you can have bring a plastic cup or you can bring a metal mug or you can bring some of those collapse. Collapsible plastic cups also or you can use the jetboil with like a sip top on it, and things like that. So there’s a lot of different options out there. The best way to carry your form of cup to use for a mug or you can use it for a lot of other purposes if you like tea or any kind of hot beverage or cold beverage, but a good way to just have something on you to be able to use.
Lately, we’ve been using the yeti, it’s like the rambler their cup. It is very heavy if you’ve seen in our previous videos, I’m trying to find ways to always cut weight, we’re not ultra light hikers, but we want to cut as what much unnecessary weight as possible, because I have learned that every ounce counts in the end. This mug is very heavy and honestly, I can weigh it now.
This is almost a pound. It is 14. 6 ounces. I mean that’s a lot of weight to carry just for a coffee mug. Yes, it insulates very well. It will hold warmth very long and I think it’s it’ll hold about 12 ounces of liquid. It’s just a lot of extra weight to carry. I mean when you hold it. It’s like man. This is very heavy just empty, so I wanted to find a way to actually lighten up the weight and not have to carry so much as we all know that every ounce counts just like every dollar you spend counts.
It all adds up every ounce we can shed here and there helps us out. So I did a lot of researching and I wanted to go ahead and there’s not a lot of options out there. I found, but I wanted to try the gsi infinity backpacker mugs now I know I listed this video as a review, there’s not much to say about it, but I just want to talk a couple important points. One of the main things is: it’s got a nylon ballistic uh insulated cover on it, so it makes it pretty tough on the outside and then like a an adjustable.
It’s not adjustable but kind of like flexible grip on it, and then it’s got a plastic cover on it also, and so it’s supposed to hold up to 17 ounces of water we’ll go ahead and try that out and see if we I’m gonna use the jetboil with two cups, that’s at least 16 ounces and see if I can pour all that liquid in there we’ll go ahead and make a cup of coffee, so it comes with a seal top on it.
I think now it’s listed at three and a half ounces. Let’s go ahead and take this off on my scale, I’m getting 3 7 ounces. Still I mean that’s super light. I mean you think about that’s a quarter of what this yeti cut in weight. I mean that’s a good way to shed some weight off. I mean you’re, almost thinking you know, over a half pound of weight weight you get rid of. You can easily put to hang this on the outside of your pack.
It’s quick and easy. It works. Well, it’s insulated. Let’s go ahead and make a cup of coffee with it. Let’s see how it holds up for warmth and how it feels on my hands on the outside once I boil some water, we’ll put it together and see what we get all right. This is a 16 ounce bottle of water right here, so I’m going to put 16 ounces in the jet boil we’re going to go ahead and let this water boil we’ll be right back now, we’re boiling got our water ready to go, I’m going to let that sit for just a second, let that bottom cool off before I separate it.
One thing I want to talk about is these high side brew bags from salt lake city utah? They? I actually seen this in a dan becker video. They sent him some, and I was really curious about it, because I tried to find a way to lighter way to carry coffee with me. I don’t like instant coffee carrying the aeropress, the video I’ll tag about the aeropress and the jetboil. It’s a great combination.
It’s a lot more added weight and again, like I talked about before I’m trying to cut weight down, he talked about. They had sent him these brew bags, they’re seven to a box, they’re kind of expensive. I’m gonna go ahead and test it today and put it in this cup of coffee. I’m about to make it’s an easy way just to have a single cup of coffee, single origin, guatemalan coffee, it’s a medium roast! I mean it’s a definitely a quick it easy way to carry coffee with you not have to carry a lot of extra weight in whatever way you used to brew your coffee.
Let’s go ahead and open one of these up, so it’s literally just like a tea bag. Make sure I don’t bust it open. It smells good. That’s for sure. If this has cooled off enough, I have burnt my hands enough times to know better and it says to give it about. Six to seven minutes depends on how dark of a roast you want. I know I’m like steaming up in front of the camera here, all right, so the bag took up a little room, but that’s almost was able to put a total of 16 ounces in there.
So that’s good room to be able to put a whole two cups of in there. If you like, a big cup of coffee and let that steep all right, so why let that steep a little bit? I know that it comes in these two colors. These are two colors I found I got one for me and rachel they’re, just green and blue. I don’t know if there’s some other colors out there, but really excited about testing these on the trail.
You’ll probably see it in upcoming videos, but it’s just a good way to cut down on weight all right, so I’m gonna, let that continue to steep and then we’ll just see how warm the coffee continues to be. How well it insulates all right guys, I’ve, let that sit for a few minutes now it should be about ready. The bruce is steep, I’m not gonna, pull it out just yet. I don’t have somewhere here with me to dump it out yet I kind of like let it sit there anyways, unlike some people, would like to do on the outside of the cup it’s uh.
Definitely warm would definitely feel good on your hands on a very cold morning when you’re on the trail. It’s not unbearable. Honestly, it’s just it’s a good warmth feeling to it, so it insulates pretty well and outside towards your hands, but I have a good feeling that it would hold heat in it for long enough to be able to enjoy your coffee or tea or whatever you’re using you know, even if you’re drinking warm water, it seems like a good option.
We hope to try it on the trail and see how it works. I hope this review was helpful. Make sure you have a comment, any questions you might have about it. We might, if anybody requests we’ll might talk about. I’m not gonna, do another whole video on it, but I might mention another video how it turns out on the trail. Hopefully it’s easy to clean, too hope you enjoyed this video make sure to like comment subscribe.
Ask any questions you have and guys. Thank you for everybody that joins our channel and subscribe. We’re greatly appreciative and hope to continue to bring you content guys. I hope you enjoyed this. Have a great day you.
Real quick about this GSI mug and nesting bowls at that I picked up about a year or so ago, and it’s actually one of my absolute favorite piece of backpacking gear and, as I said in a couple, other videos, I kind of started out life as a backpacker on the Boy Scouts, and use a lot of military surplus stuff and have kind of moved on to kind of lighter weight gear and just wanted to share one right now, since I was pulling out a few other things.
So we’re going to make a quick bit of this. This is the GSI outdoors I think they call it like a delta marker, something like I come on once I call it exactly, but it’s a neat little mug with a neoprene koozie on it. It’s two cups. So it’s just a nice size which fits with a lot of other mess kits. It has a nice little top with the cutout for drinking and a little air hole.
So if you are drinking out of it it doesn’t you can. You know, you’re, not just suck another thing all day with nothing coming out. The lid snaps on very tight still I’ve been using this thing for close to a year, and it’s still we’re not focusing here. Yeah lid, snaps, I’m, really tight, you, after being I mean, as you can see. This seems pretty filthy I use this thing all the time I bring this pretty much every time, I go backpacking or camping.
It’s one way. You know it’s. My favorite thing to drink out of in the woods, really love it cool piece of gear, and it was only maybe eight bucks, then also the nesting. Bowl is also about eight dollars as a similar lid with the cutout for drinking and a little hole for air, and it’s a two-piece set. The smaller one, of course, has a neoprene koozie as well, and that one fits the lid.
The lid fits that one. So you can use that for drinking or you know if you’re doing soup or whatever or just boiling water anything you just want to keep stuff warm, very cool, and then it’s got the outer bowl, which is slightly bigger, no koozie, but they nest together and make a very good system. I tend to bring this a lot with me, because the weight between the two of these is maybe about three ounces: total and space, wise they’re, not horrible.
You know, you’re looking at you know, I put them together in a bag with the rest of my cooking gear. It’s pretty small I mean there’s, definitely smaller mess kits out there and lighter weight mess kits, but I like this, because it is pretty inclusive. You know if you’re gonna be boiling water having hot cocoa or something like that.
You can keep it in there and not worry about stuff getting into it and bugs get into it nasty stuff getting into it, and the bowl is the same way if you’re cooking, you know you can put stuff in here as you as you cook, along really neat little thing and just wanted to show it real quick. That’s one of my favorite mess kits and once again it’s GSI outdoors and you can get these at quite a few different websites and I believe I got mine from my Gander Mountain, and the set together was about 15 bucks.
The gsi outdoors, infinity, backpackers mug, is by far my favorite lightweight mug that I have ever tried to date. The gsi outdoors, infinity, backpackers mug, is also a lot of words to say so, I’m probably just gonna, say infinity, mug or backpacker’s mug. At this point, even though this is my favorite mug that I’ve ever tried in its category, it is not without its faults so I’ll be getting into those. Is it a deal breaker for me? I don’t think so, but I’m gonna talk about it here.
Let’s talk about specs. First, though, the mug itself is comprised of three different parts. You have the cup, the koozie and the lid, we’ll start with individual weights of each important note about the cup on the inside. As you can see, there is markings for liquid measurement, so a cup for coffee, a cup for my just to add water, breakfast lunch or dinner works really well simple. It’s a mug next is the neoprene koozie, which has a textured bottom and a nylon handle.
And finally, the lid itself see point of note. It does have a sippy spout right here and it’s kind of nice it will attach directly in so won’t wiggle free on you, but the way that it directly attaches is kind of with this gasket. So it is a push sort of a seal as well as the lid itself has a gasket that goes all the way around. This is important because the way that it also goes back onto the cup itself is also by a push to seal, so it’s applied pressure, not threaded.
This is important. Okay, the weight of the entire mug itself clocks in at 3 75 ounces, gsi advertises them at 3 5, but I weighed both of these and they are 3 75 ounces for comparison that is about the same weight as a standard 52 deck of cards. So what do I use the gsi outdoors, infinity, backpackers mug for two main things coffee in the morning and just add water food. This is my bowl. This is my cup and also because it’s made of polypropylene, it’s practically indestructible.
If I am taking a smaller lens, this is a fantastic way to be able to put an extra lens in my bag and protect it, but mainly I’m using it for coffee and food. You can use it for what you’d like so now. I kind of feel weird because I’m going to start talking about the negatives on this mug, which honestly, I think is the biggest misconception that you can have about the mug itself. I can’t really say too many more positive things about it. It’s a mug, it’s a bowl, it works and does what it’s supposed to, but it does have its limitations, and I think its limitations is one of the reasons why people will rate this kind of more negatively online is because they expect that it’s going to be spill.
Proof and to be quite honest, it’s not here is a time lapse of pouring in boiling water into the cup and then sealing it. The steam rises up. It builds up pressure. It finds its way through the path of least resistance in through the gasket itself, compromises the strength of the gasket and the seal, and it will actually push the lid up. So over the course of time you get a weaker seal and if you do something like pour coffee put the lid on throw this in your backpack, there is a high probability.
This will come loose and the coffee will spill all over your stuff. So, with that being said, I don’t recommend putting food or beverages and transporting them this is kind of a you know. Poor coffee put the lid on to keep it hot. Keep it sitting in one spot. Take photos walk around, you can even walk around with it. In your hand, that’s fine, but when you start attaching this to things, and it starts kind of sitting over like this, that’s when kind of bad things start happening.
So this is the old one. This one is actually two years and two months old couple points of note one. You can see that it’s more worse for wear the neoprene has started to come apart and fray in spaces. Just over time the neoprene sleeve becomes loose and so does the gasket. So when you first buy the mug itself, you might be able to hold it upside down and the mug can stay in nice and you know pretty pretty grippy. This is the old one you hold it upside down and the mug comes out pretty quickly.
This is a good point of time to mention a couple things about these mugs one. I do not recommend putting a carabiner on and attaching this to your bag. We’ve done this before, and this is exactly what happened we sat down. We went about 40 yards after having a snack and realized that our mug wasn’t there and it actually had fallen out of the neoprene sleeve itself. So after you use these for a bit, this does become a bit loose and you can lose the mug and ever since then we throw these in our packs.
Without food or liquid, it’s in my bag, hey, don’t need to worry about other than that and that limitation. This is an absolutely fantastic, wonderful mug can’t recommend it enough yeah. I think this works out great for anyone that wants to add a nice reliable mug to their travel kit, hiking, backpacking, gearless and they’re super cheap. The only reason I bought another mug is because we accidentally left food in this one and smells will carry over if you don’t wash them out when you get back from a trip, so it was worth it to get a new one that had a tighter gasket’s entire neoprene sleeve after two years of pretty consistent usage.
Despite the limitations of the mug itself, it’s still a mug that I take absolutely everywhere with me. Can’t recommend this enough: fantastic addition for cheap to be able to add to your travel kit, whether that’s going to be hiking backpacking van dwelling over landing camping in the backyard. I think they’re, fantastic, they’re super lightweight, can’t recommend them enough. If you enjoyed this video sweet we’ll see on the next one.
1. It comes with a mesh storage sack. 2. It can be stacked in TOAKS 650ml Pot, 750ml Pot, 850ml Pot and Wood Stove (STV-11). 3. It can nest 27 oz Kleen Kanteen water bottle.
Enjoy some relaxation and some warm-up beverages I, don’t know about you guys, but man there’s something therapeutic relaxing about making a warm beverage out in the outdoors, so I hope you folks will join me and Tommy the trail dog today as we take a look at the tokes 750 milliliter mug cup pot, whatever you want to call it as well as these outstanding add-ons that I have thrown inside that they all fit inside this mug. To make this not only a one-stop-shop for water purification cooking, but also making warm beverages really excited to show you just how I do it and what this tokes titanium setup can handle hold and give you amazing enjoyment, but also help with the necessities of pure water and food as well all right guys, so we’re gonna get to what’s inside.
This does come with that mesh really nice there. It is material for the bag. Nice little drawstring there, plus that guy out now titanium, obviously I’ll be annotating all the space specs of this by itself, you got these nice collapsible arms right there give you a good grip. Now those will be pretty hot if you’re cooking over a fire or the stove. So that’s something just to keep in consideration. We do have three little drainage, ports and I really like this aspect right here.
This little guy can be kind of locked to the side. So it’s not just always falling down your little grab handle you can just of a shove a stick through. You know whatever it would be now here we go everything, including the little stuff sack that you’re about to see comes in. At thirteen point, six ounces total carry weight of what I’m about to show you. So you got the mug. Take the lid off. What we got inside is some mint tea, trying to do more. That I have some instant coffee I.
Have my pocket rocket from MSR 2 0 all folded up, I’ve got a fire steel, swedish-made I have an Sol spark wheel to help light that thing. I could do a bit. Lighter I got enough space for a couple other little smaller items in there I mean, though you could get more than just that one little pouch of coffee in that one tea bag. Then we have our wild Oh veiled, oh whatever original folding cup fold a cup. This is like eight point. Six ounces dishwasher safe made in Sweden that we’re gonna have our coffee in we’ve, got the smallest MSR pod, all fitting inside our cups.
So we literally have everything we need to boil water enjoy a beverage purify water. Obviously, I can cook soup in this. I can cook different things in this. It’s got decent graduations and measurements. 500 milliliters to here 16 ounces. To there again I’ll, add it all in I believe it’s 24 ounces is what this can handle and if you’re looking for purely just like emergency stuff, you know you’re not gonna, be doing the whole kit that I’m doing I love. That I mean that is like I.
Finally, have a one and done system right here, but I can put the lid in the bag close up the arms stuff that all in there and then any normal three and a half inch. You know 32 ounce. This is a 48 ounce. Now gene will easily fit in there. A lot of other water bottles will fit in there. So then you could put it in a water bottle pouch in a backpack. If you just wanted to use just the pot itself, as like your mean, you know, you’re gonna, scoop up water from a lake or stream and boil water that way or just use the fire.
You know, and you don’t need all these extra accessories, but I love the layout and accessories. So, okay, let’s get to it. Let’s, let’s make ourselves a warm beverage here, because that’s I’m talking about right now, it’s about too hot for me to touch so I would need something to grip. That wit now you could use. This is kind of like a little sock, which is what I’m gonna do there we go Cheers delicious, so I do just want to hit price with you guys, real, quick and just kind of talk through the costs of this entire kit.
Now, when I do the math, it’s ballparking around $100 total with everything the mug itself is gonna, go for about $35, that’s what I paid for it will run Amazon. They do make a version that has these handles, but also attachments on the side and an actual like hang over the fire, a hanger that you can’t pick up I believe that’s a little bit more expensive, so you could hang it over a fire or an element cook it that way. If you wanted to I decided to opt out of that, because I wanted it to be slim enough, that I could put inside water bottle pouches if I needed to and then Nestle my now jeans inside those other ones, they can Nestle the Nalgene, but it has those external hooks and attachments.
So it makes a little fatter. A little wider may kind of tear up your water bottle. Pouches on your backpacks, so that’s why I decided to opt out of that design, but that is available so about $35 for titanium mug like this totally worth every penny, then the pocket rocket by MSR 2 0. That I was using that’s about $45, the folded cup about 5 bucks and then the fire, steel or spark wheel. You know 10 to $15 depend on what you pick up. You know again, if you have a big Larry laying around but yeah.
That was the initial investment. You know financially, if you’re trying to do the math on that. But if you just want the folding mug, you maybe already have the cooking elements. If you just want the mug and the titanium tokes one, then those will both. You know it cost you about 40 bucks total for the titanium and for the Fulda mug. So we’ll have links for you, guys Amazon I, don’t forget around backcountry comm as well. We have the Knockaround sunglass link that are also now available on amazon.
A lot of their generic designs are available on amazon, the customs and limited-run stuff still available on their website. So you can check those out through all the links that we offer to you, Blaise cue gpknives. We now land at 511, tactical links, so just check out all those we appreciate when you use any of our hyperlinks for any of your purchasing decisions means a lot to us. Well there. It is folks I hope that this has been fun. Relaxing therapeutic for you, not I, showed you just the capability of this little toks hope I’m, something that right, tokes, right, tokes, token toks setup, but also all the different things you can do inside so now.
For me, I’ve been looking and looking and looking and I’ve been using all kinds of different setups for years, with certain drawbacks to them. Certain pauses but I feel like I, finally have something that can take with me every time I go day, hiking I can take it with me if I go backpacking if I can take, if I can want to go car camping, and it has everything that I would need for a one-person system depending on how you tweak it, you could augment it for even two people to be able to purify water cook food and just make warm beverages tea, coffee, whatever it would be, and it all fits inside this really compact setup.
So hopefully, this video has just been fun entertaining helped. You guys out, shows you what this setup can do for you check us out on Instagram Facebook, all the social media. I, don’t forget about watching that video subscribe. If you’re, not current, subscriber and yeah guys get out there enjoy your beverages experience the outdoors experience the fun and have a good time enjoy some good good food good drink, while you’re doing that. So, as always, stay equip stay prepared, see you out there.
We’re going to take a look at the topes, titanium cookware that I use so stick with me, so the cookware I use, probably most often is my tokes titanium cookware. This is the 750 mil pot with bail comes with the nice stuff, sack and I went ahead and I replaced the cordage on the top there. It comes with some smaller diameter and it started to rip a little bit. So I just ran some 550 through there in the orange to match the case, so that works really well, otherwise, they’re really nice stuff sacks and they open up really wide.
Now this is the 750 mil pot with bail, I love. This. It’s got a bail on it, so you can hang it right over your fire or it’s also got the handles. You know you can easily drink from it and set it down. The 750 mil is a good size inside here. I have another small cup from tokes I think this is like the 350 mil or the 400 mil, not sure, but I keep bought some spices and some oil in it.
But it’s great for pouring you know some some hot water in for tea or for coffee. The other nice thing about this 750 mil and get it out here is that it will fit a clean canteen or a Nalgene. It nests perfectly so like with a Maxpedition water bottle holder, a condor water bottle holder. You can put the lid down in the bottom and you can put this right on top and it will go down right into your water bottle holder.
So I carry it like that. A lot of the time too so very versatile pot here and then I have the 1600 milliliter pot with pan same thing. I did to the stuff sack I replaced the cordage there with some orange 550 cord. Now this one comes with the pot in the pan lid great for boiling snow, which I’m going to do today. I just have a scotch brite pad in here. These are great for cleaning your titanium, so these also have the handles and they haven’t worn off.
Yet the pot also has the handle on it as well, and then I can also nest. Everything in here, if I, wanted to do that too and just bring it all in one one set up so really good, cookware, really good high quality titanium. It’s very light. Alright, today, I’m going to use these homemade fire starters sent to me by a subscriber and a member of the forums. So I really appreciate him, sending these they’re just cotton balls with some fat wood, and he also sent me a fire steel, comm striker.
So that’s cool I. Just have it on here with my fire steel on a lanyard that I can throw around my neck. So let’s go ahead and see how this works. 16:30 well, but looks like one fight. One of those fire starters is all I needed seemed to work. Pretty good I appreciate that guys haven’t joined the forums at worldwide survival. Calm, definitely recommend you do so.
It’s fun. We’ve got a lot of youtubers on there. A lot of cool people on there and I will be announced in the February giveaway pretty soon. So congratulations to the person that won the bug-out bag for January’s giveaway all right. Well, that’s going pretty good now! So I can just load it up and then we’ll get some water boiling on there. I always want to give your fire a chance to catch up before you throw more wood on it.
Sometimes, if you just keep piling wood on, especially when it’s wet like today, this stuff’s pretty marginal just want to give it a chance to catch up once the flames are above, your wood you’re, pretty safe, throwing new stuff on there grab some of this really fresh snow here and we’ll get to Boylan. Now when you’re boiling snow, it goes really fast. So can you use my pot lid here and that’s more all right, definitely boiling take this one off here.
Alright, so now I’m going to use the pot and leave some bacon just using a light. My fire titanium spork. Here it’s got the fork, the spoon and it’s got a little cutting edge right. There works really well for this type of thing. If you’re going to be using like the backpackers, pantry meals or the mountain house meals, you want to get one of those longer spoon.
I think I have a seat of Summit. Longer spoon all right, so those eggs are done, I’m just gonna, let just drained out some of the extra grease there and I’m gonna. Let it cool down a minute and then we’ll leave. So we got eggs and bacon yeah, not not the most perfect eggs, but uh they’re, gonna work really good. All right guys. I want to thank you for joining me today for breakfast and taking a look at the some of the cookware that I use great stuff lightweight, titanium check it out.
I’ll put some links below I’ve had the stuff for over a year, and you know it cleans up really easily. It carries really light weight, so it’s definitely good stuff to to check out. They have a bunch of different sizes, and things like that I want to say thanks to my buddy sergeant D on the forums and thanks for the fire striker and the homemade fire starters, they work perfect.
One was all it took. It was enough to get the wood going so awesome job on those and make sure you guys give this video a thumbs up. Leave me some comments below on what you think about titanium, cookware and, as always, subscribe for more videos.
