The vortex crossfire 10 by 42 binoculars. They’re a roof prism binocular fully. Cooked fully multi-coated lenses great. For low-light situations really a good. Binocular in the price point that there. You can get them for around 150 bucks and i mean for as much technology they. Have into these they that’s a really good price they’re fully waterproof fog. Proof they’ve got an armor coating all. The way around on rubber coating it’s just great non-slip it’s got a center. Focus wheel it’s very smooth you can get. A tripod adapter which adapts right in. There that’s that is separate though you have to buy that from vortex they have a. Unbelievable warranty vortex is got what. They call a vip warranty which means. Anything happens to them you can send. Then in get them repaired or replaced. Literally gonna dog can chew up the caps. You can drop them off a cliff you know pretty much anything and send them in they’ve got the you know the standard. Icup roll out which is nice i used up almost all the time. They got the flipped caps on the end which are nice i haven’t lost him yet i. Used them last year and still got the i cup so it’s nice when it’s dusty. Or if it’s raining in ocean anything like that you know they compare to. A few other binoculars out there but. They’re not as bulky they’re great for. Backpacking which is a lot of what i do they’re a little bit lighter gonna say another pair that are similar in size i. Think they were let in about twenty-one. Point six ounces which is pretty good. Prism binocular it sells for under one hundred and fifty dollars but really it’s packed full of features that any bird watcher is gonna find desirable it’s got twists up and down eye cups with good eye relief so eyeglass wearers will be able to comfortably use both the 8 42 and the 10 by 42 it’s got a closed. Focus of less than 10 feet it’s seven and a half feet so you know being able. To focus on sparrows hummingbirds butterflies you know objects right up close no problem with the crossfire waterproof and submersible and backing. It all up you’ve got vortex’s lifetime vip warranty so if you drop the. Binoculars if it gets damaged in any way you can send it into vortex whether it’s. Your fault or not they’ll repair replace that no charge with you so it’s a free insurance policy or getting for a pair of binoculars it sells for under 150 dollars so you really can’t go wrong with something like this and for bird watcher looking for their first good field worthy pair of binoculars it’s worth checking out the crosswires.
Hello this is another review from optics. Trade today i have here binoculars from. Vortex these are vortex crossfire 10 by 50. Vortex optics is a young company with. Headquarters in the united states they. Are known for producing many optical. Devices anything from rifle scopes. Spotting scopes binoculars red dots even. Mounts in every price range sorry. So anything in entry level to the high-end they are especially known for. Their great price performance ratio and. Their famous vip warranty which i will. Talk about more later crossfire is a. Entry level series from vortex they have. Several models in the series we have 8. By 40 – 10 by 40 — this 10 by 50 and 12. By 50 these binoculars are made in china. They are about 17 centimeters long and. 14 centimeters wide they weigh 878 grams. They are lighter than other binoculars. With the same configuration because they weigh under 900 grams you can see that. They have Schmidt pakkun roof prisms and. Come in this dark green color with some. Black features the ten power. Magnification provides us with finer details and fifty millimeters. Objective lens is suitable for. Observations in low-light situations. These binoculars are suitable for. Hunters who like to inspect more details. In maybe lower light situations however. They are not so much suitable for bird. Watchers because they are quite heavy and big they can be a bit of a burden to. Carry around your neck the higher magnification can provide. Shaky images that’s why these monitors. Come with this tripod adaptable screw. Which you can unscrew and adapt it. To a tripod they are fully waterproof. And filled with nitrogen gas to prevent. An internal fogging they are as well. Protected with this economic rubber armoring which protects them against. Sudden impact and gives a good grip in. See there’s also a thump a special place. For your pumps so the holding of these. Binoculars here is even easier there. Lenses are fully multi-coated which. Contributes to a clear and crisp images. The image through these binoculars is so. Vivid and sharp in the center and as. Well as on the edges the image has a bit. Chromatic aberration visible but considering the price that’s quiet. Normal the field of view is 107 meters at. A Thousand meters this is a pretty decent. Field of view it is narrower but. That’s to be expected because of the 10th power magnification the focusing. Can be done with this really big central. Focusing knob the knob has these lines. That help with the grip the turning is. Hard enough so i think there is no accidental of fear of accidental turning. The knob is also quite nicely positioned. You can rotate it with one hand and your. Difference in eyesight can be adjusted with this right eye the up there. The eye cops are twist able these is the. First fixed position and have done the. Second position the turning of the eye. Cups is really smooth its feel it feels. A reliable it’s a shame there is no in. Between positions but i think if you. Turn it by half the position doesn’t. Move quickly so this how they seem. Reliable you have them fold it down if. You were i glasses and in between or the full position if. We’re not wearing glasses rubber on. These eye cups is quite soft and feels. Durable these binoculars come in this. Soft padded case it has a vortex logo on. Then the back is great it has a special. Department pocket and a belt loop on the. Back you can attach this strap to the. Case so for is even easier carrying. You get instructions. Padded strap for the binoculars cleaning. Cloth rubber eye cups covers so you can. Protect your eye cups easily and of. Course the objective lens covers which. Are attached on these binoculars so on. Here so you can easily remove them if. They bother you but i think this is a great addition because you can always. Have them on hand and not lose them that. Means that your objective lenses are always protected these objective covers. Are also robert and have a nice vertex. Logo on them i have to mention here the. Special vortex vip warranty they say. It’s unlimited unconditional lifetime. Warranty basically they will repair or. Replace the fact if or damaged products. For free so this is a great addition to. The vortex binoculars so to sum it up. These are a decent optics for a low. Price they are priced at 199 euros they. Are mainly meant for inspecting details partially suitable for observations in. The twilight a great feature as i. Mentioned is that they come with this attached objective lens covers the image. Is sharp and vivid its sharp even on the. Edges and of course grating is the. Vortex vip warranty but to point out. Some bad things maybe the poorly positioned. I pee sense eyepieces they could offer. One in the in-between position but. Considering the price this is quiet. Normal for i cops to have only two fixed. Positions and because of the higher. Magnification they are more mainly. Suitable for those with steadier hands. They are quite big and quite heavy but. Considering the low price these. Junkie calm hey as I’ve told you guys in the past we’re going to try to start doing a lot more field testing with the products that we’re putting our name out on the line for and stuff like that you know we want to we want to cut through the crap in all reality of just the. Commercials and the hypes and stuff like that and really you know be able to put if we’re going to stand behind something or if we’re going to say that something works we want to know that we feel tested it as much as we possibly could before we bring you guys that information so you know just out doing some scouting today and i thought man what a perfect time to talk to you guys about vortex again now i know that I’ve done a review in the past on some of the. Other models that vortex has but today i. Just i really want to focus in on the viper series of vortex we’ve had a lot. Of requests and i mean a lot of requests to do the review on the vortex vipers. Especially the hd series which was i believe it was new for last year but um. So we finally did and i this review is. Going to be so hard because there is not one single thing i can find wrong with vortex number one and number two with. The viper series i am absolutely just I’m just. Overwhelmed with the quality that goes. Into such a small compact set of optics. You know first and foremost the hd is. You know stands for high density glass what does that mean to me and you i have no idea and i really don’t care all i know is that it’s crystal clear you know times like now in the spring you know. We’re still we’re still a ways away from things really taking off but there’s a lot of greenery right now you know with the real mild winter that we had things. Came up early things are green and if you’re out scouting you know one of. Those things is that wildlife and. Different things that you’re looking for can get lost in that greenery that’s out there and this hd series that vortex has on their. Line this high-density glass I’m telling you wildlife just pops out at you i mean it just it makes it so easy the you know the eye fatigue there. Is no eye fatigue when I’m using these things i have noticed that with some other optics that I’ve had and being. A guide as you guys know optics are the. Most important tool i have in my arsenal as a guy to be successful to get the clients on game my optics are key. They are absolutely crucial and i fatigue has always been huge for me and with the hd glass with the twist out. Comfortable eye cups you know i just keep i could go on and on about the features but I’m going to encourage you guys to go to vortexes website and you. Can compare every single model that they have as well as you can compare them to anything else you guys are interested in buying and i really encourage. You guys to put up you know to put a pair of them up on your eyeballs and look for the home for yourself they’re just absolutely amazing a couple features that i want to cover with this for all the technical specs and all that other stuff all the although i guess you. Could say all the scientific you know data that goes into making these optics. What they are I’m going to let you guys do your own homework on that because you’re not going to it really doesn’t matter what i think as far as what kind of glass a user what kind of prisms and stuff like that that stuff is in here you’re getting the. The Best quality you can get with vortex in this viper hd series now i. Have not had my hands on the razors, and we hope to hear in the near future but for right now I’m going to go over a. Couple of these features of the vipers and just talk to you about them now first and foremost you’re going to see that i have these things connected to a tripod and vortex has a whole line. Of tripods, you guys i personally went with what’s called the ridge view series and the reason why is that you know if I’m packing in and i got to go scout for four or five hours out of the entire day i can’t take you know the camera. Tripod or i can’t take something like that this thing is lightweight its compact it folds up you just you hardly. Even know it’s in your pack now I’m not going to lie to you know it’s there but it’s not a cumbersome tripod like a lot of them are that i you know that is joust having this little thing has been. A blessing in disguise my binoculars mount right to it with the you know with vortexes tripod mount it’s got a quick detach right here that makes this thing slick and easy and i can use my tripod or i can use my bottom my optics here. With my bino system and not have to even take the tripod attachment off so if I’m you know if I’m out scouting and I’m going to sit down for a little while and see what happens you know with a couple hours of daylight left i can just sit. Down relax and put these things in the tripod and just makes a life a lot easier so i would really you know i. Highly recommend this little tripod that they have it’s just it’s been awesome but um okay as far as the optics go I’m. Going to talk to you guys about two of. The features that i like the most out of the vortex viper series in the hd series. And first and foremost is the compact. Size this size of binoculars now i use. An 8 by 42 for pretty much everything whether I’m in nebraska garden whether I’m in ohio guiding or whether I’m deer hunting by myself i like the 8 by 42 the best i don’t i. Don’t need a 10 a 10 power i don’t need. A 12 power you know if i was out west and i was going for mountain regions to mountain ridge that would be a little bit different but for 8 by 42 seem to. Fit pretty much all my needs that i have as a guide and as a bow hunter another feature that i really think is long overdue in the optics world and there might be some others out there is the diopter now for you guys that don’t know this dieter is used for weather your. Right eye or left eye dominant and what it does is you set it to your dominant eye and then you use the barrel focus. Adjustment here the barrel ring to actually get your you know to focus in on whatever you’re looking at one of the features that vortex has on their on. Their optics in their diameter is that this is a locking diopter so here’s an. Example I’m at I’m at deer camp ramat. Turkey camp and i got guys coming in all the time to check out you know what is it that the guides using what optics do i have everybody grabs my binoculars and the first thing they do is they start fiddling with stuff to get it into focus whether I’ve got the things on my chest and I’m going for a day-long scout trip whatever it is this thing has a tendency to move especially when human hands touch it and there’s nothing more frustrating then i grab my binoculars i head out in the truck and. I’m going to scout and i I’m coming through a field and there is a flock of turkeys or there is you know there’s a. There’s a big buck out there and i got a hurry-up stop on the brakes grab my binoculars and i want to see is that jakes is that you know is that a mature deer or is that a you know two year old we need to let walk what is it i grabbed my optics and all of a sudden everything’s out of focus there’s nothing more frustrating than that so this little feature here allows me to set it to me and then i can lock it in, so we can’t get bumped it can’t get moved somebody would have to actually physically pull it out and readjust it for themselves so that is a huge. Feature that i absolutely love and then the last feature that i probably didn’t. Cover enough in my first and my first review of the optics is that vortex. Has the what they call a vip warranty this vip warranty is no questions asked. No circumstances if something happens to. The binoculars you just send them back you just call them you don’t have to worry about registration forms you don’t have to worry about whether you filled something out online it’s nothing it’s no questions asked warranty it is its just an unbelievable warranty and I’ll tell you guys that there are a few companies in the outdoor industry that are going with these no questions asked transferable warranty stuff like that folks those are the companies we need to be supporting because number one they. Obviously believe in their product because they’re standing behind it no matter what happens to it so that’s huge. For me as a guide and for me as a deer hunter that i have something that i know if something happens to it all i had to do is contact them, and they’re going to make it right so you know it just i know. That this is sounds more like a commercial for vortex but it’s really not I’ve had these things for at least three months now probably more like two. Two and a half months and i have used these things in all conditions it’s been snowing sideways and it’s been 65. Degrees and beautiful I’ve never had a problem with fogging I’ve never had a problem with anything that these. The series we have this 8 by 42 and of. Course stand by 42 and bigger models 10. And 12 by 15 these binoculars are made. In china as it’s also written here on. The inner side of the barrels they weigh. Around 720 grams which is quiet. Lightweight for this configuration. They’re around 13 centimeters wide and. 14 centimeters long the house roof speed. Packing prisms and have nice and sleek. Design in this green color with some black features they are protected with. Hard rubber armor which offers a. Comfortable grip the design of these. Binoculars is really ergonomic they lie. Perfectly in your hand the size is. Compact the hinge is quite short and on. The bottom you have some rasters so when you hold these. Binoculars your thumbs fit nicely onto. The barrels they can be mounted on a. Tripod with the tripod adaptable screw which lies beneath here the field of. View is 136 meters at a thousand meters. Brings amazing resolution and colours the lenses are fully multi-coated and. Have a xr anti-reflective coating which. Increases the light transmission the. Armored tac coating is applied to the. Other lenses this prevents scratches. Dirt and oil images really sharp vivid. And high in contrast these monitors as well. Have a good close focus it is 1.5 meters. Which is also good for observations of. Butterflies this is a versatile model. It’s perfect for bird watchers hunters. And other wildlife observers in more. Dense areas such as woods and forests. The focusing can be done with big. Central focusing knob the knob has. Ripped surface for easier adjustment. Especially in the winter when you have gloves on turning is hard enough so. There is no fear of accidental turning. The knob it’s also quite nicely. Positioned you can easily turn it with a. Finger enough has a logo and name of the. Series and duration printed diopter adjustment rink. Is located on the right i piece amazing. Feature of this knob is that it has a. Locking function so to adjust your. Adapter you simply pull up the knob turn. It and to secure your adjustment simply. Lock it down and do not want to move the. I-cubs on these monitors can be twisted. Up they offer four different position. Positions so we have the first one. Second third fourth so they are really. Perfect for any user the mechanism is. Really fine the turning is quite smooth. The i-cubs can be stopped at any. In-between position so the position that. It’s not stopped they won’t move out of. This position very easily there is a. Plastic part and a rubber part this. Rubber part is quite thin i think it’s. Thinner than on the other binoculars. But these bananas feel comfortable when. Pressed against your face there are many. So to sum up this review these are. Amazing optics without the premium price tag. They have a nice sleek compact design. They are quite lightweight the image is. Warranty i have to point out some bad. Things although there is only one i. Think really the field of view could be. A bit wider it’s not that bad but. Though I’ve also got these vortex viper hd 8 by 42 millimeter binoculars and. Along the way I’ll be going over some of the features and highlights before. Looking at the binoculars themselves i thought I’ve just got over some of the extras that come with the binoculars because i feel more ticks have done a good enough job that they’re deserving of a mention to start off with the vips. Covers are fairly standard for a roof prism binocular like these in that they’re made of soft rubber, and they fit. Very well to the through the i-cubs meaning that they shouldn’t actually into the portal as you can see they have a loop in them meaning that if you wish to you can and attach them to your. Neck strap likewise the objective lens. Covers have a feature that i really do. Like they’re attached by a rubber ring. To the actual barrel of the binocular meaning that if you want to look at something you just quickly open in like that and look at whatever you need to. Look at and then you can quite easily replace them and continue on with your journey there why I’m protecting your. Lenses as much as possible from getting. Dirty or even worse from getting scratching, and they — you’re made. Of a soft rubber and do fairly well to. The to the actual barrels and. Shouldn’t come away I’m very easy accidentally the next thing to mention. Is the really good quality neck strap. Vortex has done a really good job with these they as you can see they’re nice. Nice and wide around the neck and distributed distributing the weights more evenly and on top of that they. They’re really well padded and nice and grippy a really small thing and it is a. Really small thing but it’s sometimes these small things that make a binocular. From you know a good binocular into a. Really great one i really like this little ring over here that allows for. The part that goes around your neck and the spot of this jack to move more freely this has the advantage of just. Making these fewer movements on your actual neck when you keep on looking. I just like to talk a little bit about. The sort of construction and the. Body of these binoculars before going and talking about their optics when you. When you look at it as many binoculars. As i do and sometimes you’re always looking for the small things that make the difference between a good one okay and a really great binocular for me these just feel right in the hands like they’re really comfortable to hold they have nice comfortable thumb indents on. The undersides just making them nice really comfortable well-balanced to hold up to your eyes on top of that as you. Can see they have a rubber armor only on the outside of them and this has a few. Benefits and a few advantages most binoculars these days do come with the rubber armor and and it’s the reason. For this is because they have so many benefits these include obviously protecting the optics but on top of that they do. Provide a better grip as well as they. Provide some soundproofing it’s a small. Think but i feel if you’re observing birds that are easily frightened or wildlife and if for instance like what sometimes quite often actually happens to me your wedding ring and hits against the body of and if this was a metallic object it would make quite a high-pitched sound which could frighten. Away whatever you try to get up close to you okay and these bananas are fully. Waterproof as well as fog proof they’ve. Had all the air inside of them and replaced with the dry gas and making them fog proof he had advantage of this. Fog briefing and water proofing and which may not seem immediately obvious. Is in dry environments when there’s lots. Of dust around and because they are. Waterproof this will prevent any dust or something I’m inching the system and then I’m getting caught on the inside of the lens and thus destroying your view. Okay as far as weight and dimensions go these are fairly light weights for a. Quality binocular and the reason i say. Quality is that sometimes you get. Binoculars that are extremely lightweight but they are so lightweight. Mone because they have a lot of cheap. Quality components and I’m thinking like plastic components and things like that which is obviously lighter than making a stronger binocular but a higher quality. The focusing wheel is nice and large and. It moves really smoothly and it’s nice and grippy now on a day like today it. Doesn’t really make a difference I’ll grippy you’re focusing with us you can imagine in winter when I’m wearing big thick gloves it’s quite nice to have a focusing wheel that’s very easy to access and easy to move. A real highlight on these vortex. Binoculars is their minimum clothes focusing distance of only 5.1 feet which. I think is about 1.6 meters and you know. Anything under six feet am i considered to be very good so these are well up there with the very best I’m full size binoculars in terms of close focusing distance and. And it’s just something that you may want to keep in mind if like me you like looking at things like butterflies dragonflies um you know or as aa stinking a I’m just some really pretty flowers. Just to summarize i just like to say. That vortex has made out a cracking pair of binoculars here and i really. Do like them they feel very comfortable fairly lightweight and fairly. Compact for a full size 8 by 42 millimeter binoculars they use really. High quality optical elements and a. Glass and the lines and prisms which translates to a really good quality bright and crisp image and yeah if i had. To be slightly critical of anything i possibly want for a possibly a slightly. Wider field of view you know it’s not bad but can compare to some of the very best out there the best one because it does fall a little short I’m worth bearing in mind though that when I’m talking about the very best binoculars out there I’m also talking about monitors to have a far bigger price tag than these do yeah so for more details. That here in a little bit we’ll talk about a couple features with this thing this is a great product as i mentioned this is nikon monarch hg this is an. Amazing binocular the one that i have in my hands right here is the 10 by 42 the msrp is $9.99 95 this is also offered in. An 8 by 42 for nine 7995 this is the box. That it comes in it also comes with a little case so you can put the binocular and fits in there perfectly if you want to put it in there to put it in your pack or you can just leave them out floating freely like most people do than. I do as well also at the same time that. Does come with some of the eye caps i was blocking the sign back here so thank. You for moving that so again comes with some white caps to put on the protection well get into the great stuff so edie glasses in here essentially that is high definition for your eyes we all remember was like watching tv several years ago. Before hdtv came out this is hd for your. Eyes low-light conditions up to 92% more. Light transmittance into this binocular here it comes with field flattener lens. Most hunters need today this would be enough for most i think this is probably the best buy you can buy it gives you the ehr so the cream on the horizontal range this is perhaps the most important thing but you need but this is the top.
