Offering a ton of versatility while you’re out on the trail or traveling the. Outdoor research women’s equinox confort pant are lightweight and breathable. They’re a convertible pant as the name suggests so right now I’m wearing them. As pants but you can zip them off really easily into shorts, so they’re gonna. Offer again a lot of versatility for. Warmer and colder days these are lightweight and very breathable so you. Can wear them in warmer temperatures and not overheat it’s a very stretchy material it’s sub flex nylon material. We’ve got spandex in there so you can. Move in them and when you do need to zip. Then off into shorts you can do so easily with a zipper it’s right above the knee, so they’re not too long not too. Short i think they’re the perfect length for travel or for hiking and there’s a. Piece of fabric on both sides of the. Zipper so unlike some convertible pants. So that the inside of the zipper is exposed right to your leg there’s fabric on the inside that protects chiefing and that kind of thing on the inside of the leg it’s a very. Lightweight zipper as well so it’s not going to weigh you down and these this. Fabric actually has a upf rating of 50-plus so it’s gonna really protect you. From the sun as well talking about the. Features here you have two really comfortable hand level pockets right. Here on the front the inside of this pocket is a really breathable mesh material it’s really soft against your skin as well you’ve got two pockets on. The back and these four pockets here are. Our jean pockets so you don’t have a. Zipper or anything they’re really comfortable you’ve got belt loops very wide belt loops so if you’re wearing a belt with them it’s gonna go in their very easily. And provide support there in the top you. Have a nice button at the top and zipper. Down here on the side of the way you do. Have a zippered pocket and this is. Definitely big enough for a cell or a small camera if you need to put a. Granola bar or something like that in there so this is a really nice pocket it. Has a little bit of bellows in there so you know it’s an expandable pocket stretchy material obviously you’ve got. The zipper here so you can zip off the bottom convert them into shorts but then at the bottom of the leg you do have a really nice zipper that allows you to. Zip up the side of the leg if you want. To put your shoes on and off and that kind of thing or just a little bit more breath ability down at the bottom as i. Mentioned this material is quick dry so. If it becomes wet it’s going to dry out really quickly that makes it great for travel if you need to wash the pants and. Let them dry overnight they’ll likely be. Dry in the morning and you actually have. A dwr or durable water repellent finish. On the outside of these pants so if. You’re in a light rain or something like that the water is gonna beat up and run. Off so it’s a really great feature there makes them really versatile so i can see. You know traveling in these wearing them. As shorts and as pants they’d be great for backpacking and hiking and even everyday use they’re the outdoor research women’s equinox convert pants. You.

My name is margot I’m a certified guide and i work with outdoor research as a member of the i fm ga guide 50 I’m gonna show you some of my go-to soft shell pieces the fro c. Climbing back country skiing and hiking it offers great protection from the wind. And a really high level of breath ability. Spandex gives you great stretch for climbing and ease of movement ripstop nylon gives the material a lot of abrasion resistance and in addition the hoody also has cordura on the shoulders and on the arms this piece goes with me. Into the mountains for seasons of the year i wear it skin uphill on a cold February morning and i wear it on a baking hot glacier in the dead of august.

Hello and welcome to another rock climbing life video i am your host jeff safford today I’m reviewing one of my favorite climbing pants the outdoor research for oc pants ok today I’m. Reviewing the outdoor research / oç pants I’ve talked a lot about the first he pants on my in my videos i reviewed. The 3/4 length pants and also the jacket but today I’m reviewing the pants and the first thing i want to say before i. Review these pants is that i am extremely picky with climbing pants i. Would say out of all the articles of clothing for like technical wear or. Outdoor wear I’m I’m probably the most. Picky about climbing pants it’s because. I want them to be you know almost feel. Like they’re not even there i want them to be breathable and light i don’t want. Then to restrict my hip motion i-i’ve. Pretty long legs and I’m about 6 1 so i. You know anytime a high step i don’t. Want to have like thick pants that restrict any motion at all i want them to be breathable and not be too. Hot to wear but at the same time I’m only wearing pants when it’s a little bit cold out in the morning or windy out during the day so i also want them to protect my lower legs from the elements. And keep me warm so as you can tell like. The list is pretty long for what i require out of a climbing pant and the. The pants that actually accomplish that list are pretty small but the fur oc. Pants from outdoor research is one. Make and model that actually meets all. Of my requirements for a climbing pant so i like to have talked about before in. My previous videos about the furrows ease this material is really great it’s. It’s lightweight its breathable its wind. Resistant and it’s slightly watered resistant as well so it’s just a great. Stretchy material kind of has these magic properties it’s its really fantastic but these pants.they are just. There’s their form-fitting, but they’re not too tight and, and they move myth. With me very well so you know like i. Said I’m super picky about pants but i think that these are our win so. Different from my other reviews i had. Only had the pants for a few months well these are not super old but I’ve had those other articles there’s other. Foressi items for quite some time so i can talk about the durability of the. Foressi material and i can tell you that it’s super durable now it may not look. Durable b and the reason is that when. You wear them for an extended period of time or they encounter lots of abrasion against the rock they kind of fray and. Pill kind of like a worn sweatshirt or a. Warm fleece, so they kind of have that pilling action, and they don’t look as. Smooth as when they’re brand-new when they’re brand-new they look super smooth, but they start to fray with wear however. They’ve never ripped on me and the. 3/4 length pant that I’ve had i believe for a couple years now the thighs. Are pretty worn looking however they’ve never ripped I’ve actually cut my leg or. Like above my knee and actually been bleeding underneath the pant but the pants have never ripped so the material is super adorable and has like a rip stop cape property but even though they. Look like they’re worn so don’t be fooled you know if you’re if you’re froz pants or your jacket start to look a little bit worn there they’re not going. To rip on you and i don’t think they’re going to fail so that’ll occur about after a season of use they’ll start to look that way, but they’re gonna keep on going for you but. Other parts of this pant that i really like i really like this thigh pocket this is great for a cellphone it’s kind of taped or seamed on there so. It’s its really low profile you don’t. Even feel that it’s there you don’t know that it’s there just has a small zipper so that’s that’s a great feature that the back of the. Pant has a zipper pocket on the right rear and you know either. It’s gusseted allows free-range of motion and then also unlike their other 3/4. Length pants these have a drawstring closure, and they’re really. Well designed the little buckle that. Keeps the elastic drawstring is actually. Hidden kind of like in this little pocket underneath here so it doesn’t rub against your leg it doesn’t you know. Kind of bother your leg at all and it’s kind of just tucked out of the way but. Other than that these are really great pants like i said I’m super picky about. Pants I’ve only found a couple on the market from different climbing manufacturers that meet my specs you. Now they don’t absorb water i really. Like them a lot but the only downside i. See with the fur oc pants specifically. You know the full-length pant these are a regular length now owe our makes a. Short length but they don’t make a long. And i really think that they need to make a long again I’m six one, so they’re. Just cut a little bit too short from my liking i would prefer if they made a long you know and help dial us tall guys. They already make it short so if you’re shorter go with the short if you’re tall. Or you know regular height go with the regular but hopefully they make a long. Pant length in the near future and. Another thing with the waist as far as the fit i think the hips fit well at first they feel a little bit tight in. The hip, but they seem to almost come just they just stretch with you and move with you so really great properties of the material inside of the waist has. Like a fleece or a chamois material so. They won’t slide if you’re wearing you. No like under armour or like boxer shorts underneath they won’t kind of slide down they’ll stay in place and at the same time wick. A little bit of sweat as well so overall. Give the frosty pants a try they’ve made. My shortlist and i think that if you give them a try you’ll like them as well and with that this has been another rock member like be sure to check out the blog rock-climber life.com for more thanks for watching.

Designed for climbing in the high alpine or trekking above treeline the outdoor. Research men’s furrow sea wind shirt. Offers lightweight and breathable wind protection it’s a little more than a shirt and less than a jacket so it’s an excellent layer to throw on over some. Base layers let’s take a look at its features the material we have on the fro sea wind shirt is an 86 percent nylon 14. Percent spandex, so we’ve got a really nice wind resistant material and it is. Extremely stretchy to allow full freedom. Of movement, it’s about 90 d inden eur so. It’s really durable and abrasion resistant as well as you can see it is a. Half zip design so it just comes down to. About the center of your chest or your sternum area to give you a little bit. More breath ability but overall protection down low at the top of the. Zipper we do have a little zipper garage so it’s not gonna cause any abrasion or. Scratching us against the skin it won’t snag your beard either we do have a. Single chest pocket on the piece and it’s a very low-profile lightweight chest pocket good for those smaller items snacks energy gels or anything. Little you may want to keep on you and it is a reversible pocket so you can. Stuff this piece down on itself and have. A nice compact stuff size attach it to your harness or throw it in your backpack if you choose to a neat feature. That we’ve got on the fro sea wind shirt that will allow you to vent or dump any heat or these kind of arm length or. Forearm length the zipper is so on each forearm we’ve got a really long zipper there that’s gonna open up and allow you to dump that excess heat if you need to. So although the material is very breathable outdoor research incorporates these zippers just to dump that excess heat in the event that you were building up a lot of body heat the fit of this. Piece is a trim fit now I’m wearing a medium here and it’s fitting me really tight normally i do wear a large to have a little room underneath to layer but the medium is a really snug fit to. Enhance that fit we do have some partially elasticized cuffs and a single draw cord hem so at the bottom of the piece there is just one draw cord that’s really gonna let you draw it in so it doesn’t ride up on you but with those super stretchy materials even though this particular jacket is fitting me really tight I’ve still got plenty of freedom of movement so i really like that material in the froz wind shirt and there you have it’s the outdoor research men’s fur osi wind. Shirt a great lightweight piece for. Those times when you may be subject to some higher winds.

All right so I’m a 35 waist and i have. On the 32 of the convertible gorilla cps. From outdoor research this is what they. Look like all right it was like impossible for me to buy these all right. So basically these pants can be purchased one size smaller than what you would normally wear if you wear a 36 you can get the 34 if you wear a 34 you can get the 32 they’re stretchy pants and. The waistline is slightly stretchy i found that the waistline on the 36 in the thirty-fourth was very stretching and it had no belt or drawstring and if. You’re going convertible adding the belt. Kind of adds unnecessary weight the whole idea is to keep your pants out of. Your pack by having pants that convert into shorts now obviously that’s kind of. Nerdy but they call it a gear geek for a. Reason you know if your if when you put your pants in your pack the pack in. The pants add weight and bulk to your pack, and they also get wrecked if you. Keep your pants in your pack the whole entire summer you’re carrying around something that adds bulk and weight to your pack and your pack is bigger and heavier than it should be and at the end. Of the summer when you go to get your pants they’re wrecked they’re full of mildew etc so the idea with convertible. Pants is that you’re wearing shorts and you don’t have your pants in your pack you know if you carried board shorts and kept your pants in your pack yeah board shorts are awesome but having your pants. And your pack is wrong when you have convertible pants you still are wearing. Your pants you have them on you and you can put your ankles from the convertible pants you know you can stow those with. Your poncho or something else that you don’t usually use so when. You buy the pants a size smaller than normal like for instance these are a 32 instead of a 34 i don’t need a belt so i. Got rid of the belt and also the side pocket which holds your cell phone that. Has a tendency to hit doorways and furniture as you walk past them because the pants are usually too baggy these pants are not baggy they’re very straight legs and that prevents your iphone from hitting stuff as you walk by. Because you know like the little 4-inch iphone se it’s probably the best phone to bring traveling but it’s very fragile if it. Hits a doorway or a table as you walk by because it’s in your cargo pocket it’s. Broken more or less i mean it damages the phone and so having the hip pocket that cargo pocket close to the. Leg it prevents the phone from hitting. Stuff as you walk by which is a nice feature now i tried on the 36 furro c’s. Which were more like a 40 waist 4 oc pants i tried on the 34 which were more. Like a 37 and i tried on the 30s which i. Couldn’t they were too small i as well. Tried the 36 in the pro no stretch sian. Convertible pant which was like a very heavyweight a plastic form of denim it. Was like basically denim blue jeans that. Are very tougher for hunting and bushwhacking, but they were made out of plastic so that they dry quicker than cotton, and they were just too heavy. They’re 15 ounces i also tried on the outdoor research convertible pants which. Were uncomfortable they don’t stretch at all there are only four and a half ounces, so they’re half the weight of the other guys but you lose a lot of comfort. With weight with the mountain sorry I’m. Not sure if i said alpha research or mountain hardwear the mountain hardwear mesa convertible pants they’re half the. Weight of all the other convertible pants, but they’re not comfortable so if. You were to go 36 if you were to get the. Mountain hardwear 36 mesa convertible. Pants in order to make them more comfortable because they don’t stretch you would save a little bit of weight but the truth is that the outdoor research fer oc pants can be bought one. Size smaller so you can wear a 32 if you. Wear a 34 the 32 is actually out. Slightly lighter than the 34 so the. Amount of weight that you shave by using the mountain hardwear convertible pants. You can actually get that by going one size smaller with the furrow sees or something similar and I’ve been wearing the fro c’s for a day or two they’re very comfortable and very happy with them they’re very form fit you know yeah. They kind of fit kind of like a pair of boxers i mean they’re pretty tight pants, but they’re very breathable and stretchy and comfortable, and they fit perfect, so they’ve got plenty of pockets they’ve got two zippered pockets on the back which is important they’ve got a zippered cargo pocket they’ve got two pockets on the front now if you go small with these convertibles you’ll notice that the two front pockets are not really easy to get your hands into they’re a little form fit it’s a little bit tight but definitely usable I’m. Pretty happy with this i am also really interested in the Monticello convertible pants because they come with a belt you know they’re only 11 ounces and you can. Pull the belt close so you can get that if the 34 is or the thirty-six’s are slightly too big you can pull on that you can cinch the belt, and they come in. Cool colors but you know it’s another eighty bucks to spend and I’m pretty happy with the frosty’s that I’ve got. They’re their correct color and so i don’t know why i would buy another pair of convertible pants when i should be wearing these and just learning how to use the ones that I’ve got you know i think that these are gonna be my go to and i should just figured that figure. Out these 32 waist outdoor research 4 oc. Convertible pants.

Abrasion-resistant super stretchy lightweight and very comfortable the. Outdoor research 4 oc crag pants are a. Great pant for climbing or long days in. The mountains let’s take a look at their construction and their materials these pants are constructed with a really nice lightweight but abrasion resistant material and in the side panels and knees or areas where you’re gonna see some high wear specifically while climbing they do have a reinforced panel. So throughout the whole side panel here and all the way down to the knee of the pant we’ve got kind of that extra doubled up reinforced material for. Enhancement durability for the pants some features on these pants include two. Standard front pockets a nice stretchy mesh backed pockets, so they’ll enhance. Your breath ability in the pants as well in the back we just have one zippered. Pocket so there’s a secure pocket on the back side and one zippered thigh pocket. Here as well so good for storing those smaller items you may want to keep a little bit more easily accessible but also secure on the sides we’ve got each. Two stretchy little loops, and they’re designed for toothbrushes so if you’re out bouldering and you need to carry your brushes with you want to have them quick and easy to access we’ve got these two loops on the sides of the pants and in the back there’s a slightly larger loop where you can clip a chalk bag again if you’re out bouldering or doing any type of climbing so great little additions to the pants there. We do have adjustment at the ankles of. The pants so you can kind of pull them up to get out of the way of your climbing shoes and cinch them down, so they stay nice and snug there the fit of these pants is a fairly athletic fit so. They fit pretty trim we do have an. Internal draw cord so you can tie those off and keep them nice and tight if you need to and the waistband is a low profile waistband that is stretch knit, so we’ve got kind of areas in the waistband that are gonna conform to your body in your shape and move with you so it remains really comfortable so a really smart and thoughtful design in the waistband of the pants I’m wearing a. Medium here, and they do stretch to fit really nicely generally i wear two in the waist, and he’s fit really well and overall length isn’t an issue. Either and there you have it’s the outdoor research men’s furrow seek rag pants specifically designed for climbing. Whether your bouldering spending a long day at the crag or doing a multi-pitch route in the mountains these pants are durable abrasion resistant and stretchy. You.

  • It won’t Ivanhoe adhikam here to share a. Little experience i recently had with arc’teryx and my adam lt jacket. Previously I’ve done a review on the adam lt jacket a great piece of gear. Nice and light really warm especially. Considering the weight and consequently I’ve worn it a lot and had it for about. Six years and someone on the long line not too long ago the zipper pull broke on it not like the little cord piece of. It but the actual metal hinge piece on the zipper portion broke off could i. Still use it yes i could super pain though because you’re trying to manipulate this piece without like a handle for it so having spent a fair. Amount of money on that product i was like you know what i wonder if they’ll warranty this so reached out send them. An email on January 30th inquiry and say. Hey this is the issue I’m having send a photo everything like that got an email. Back on February 6th with return instructions make sure it’s laundered. This and this into here did that send it off got another email February 15th they had received my return following February 26th got an. Email that said they had assessed it and it falls within the warranty they’ll. Take care of it cool march 1st got another email said they. Had started repairs on it march 5th said hey we’ve finished your. Repairs and then march 7th i got about. Four shipping confirmation emails that. Said we’re shipping it out i don’t know why i got that many but on march 9th i. Also got another email that said hey we. Shipped it should be there and sure. Enough there was on my porch in a box in. This bag i am i will say really stoked. To get this guy back I’ve been frankly. Missing this jacket because i don’t have. Tons and tons of warming layers so not having this one it’s kind of drag i have been however curious if they. Literally just replaced a zipper on it. And the way i will know is this thing. Spend a bunch time in Afghanistan with me and consequently there’re little tears that ended up getting like. Pretty poorly stitched up from concertina wire or there were actually. Sections in here that were okay yeah it. Kind of worn from um body armor and. Stuff and yeah this looks like my jacket. Pretty stoked and bonus the zipper. Actually works super stoked well. Locked eric’s as a brand is admittedly expensive probably like the most expensive brand as far as can in that. Outdoor space i will say i really. Appreciate that their warranty their stuff the fact that you’re gonna part with your money for a piece of gear piece of clothing that’s gonna admittedly last a really long time but. If something does break on it and it does fall under warranty but them to be pretty quick to say hey we’ll go ahead and take care of that get it fixed keep you assess the entire situation as it goes and get it back to you and yeah get. Your gear back to you so you can get back outside but pretty cool pretty. Pleased with the process as always thanks for joining us to keep a true calm look forward to seeing you next time

Hi guys grad here in this video I’m going to talk about the architects adam lt this is the lighter weight version of. Their atom jackets they make a sv which has i think a bit more insulation the. Macan af which is really just a more generously sized version of this. Jacket also comes either in non-coated format or foot hooded format this is the. Non hooded on the material the main. Material the our is it feels like a kind. Of a windbreaker material and it is the wind resistant part of the jacket inside. Of this and the torso and in the arms is. Core loft which is a synthetic insulation layer it’s been — sort of. Replaced down as a sort of puffy high. Loft insulation on the side of the. Jacket all the way up really to the pits. It has polartec power stretch fleece with. A hard face technology so it’s a hard face fleece on the side so it has that rip stop nylon look to it with the grid. Pattern throughout you can see the. Fleece on the inside here it has two. Main pockets here in the front they have zipper poles here the main. Zippers has been noted in other reviews. Unzips very easily like a lot of people. Complain that as they wear it comes unzipped on them, and they don’t really care for that aspect of it under normal. Non heavy use which is aughra or put. This throughout and really have an unzip on me but i could easily see how that could happen if you’re moving around a lot it has another small zippers on the. Inside here you can see I’ve added some type of accessory cord I’m just giving something grab a hold of and it. Has that same sort of windbreaker material on the inside. And on this jacket the inside pocket is. Only on the left side there is not one on the right side behind the zipper is. More of the windbreaker technology it’s. It has a dwr coating so it’s water-resistant but not waterproof. It is more or less winter proof however. It’s a very pack able jacket which is why. You probably know this mine has a lot of wrinkles i pull it up and keep it in my. Car along with another adam lt for my. Wife just in case we get stuck somewhere. We needed you know we need insulation. This is not the leaf version but really. The only difference is that on the leaf version this isn’t the reflective printed on material here it’s the blacked-out on our character logo i just. Want to show the cut on this jacket it’s specifically cut to either go over. Another jacket say you have something on that isn’t water or in wind resistant. You could layer the adam lt over that. I’m going to put on the bravo jacket just because it has kind of close to body cut already kind of athletic cut. I guess so i will show that you can. Layer the adam lt over that if you need. Something that has need of you are coding for water resistance or you need. Sort of windbreaker layer so layers. Nicely over the bravo but it’s as well. Supposed to be cut close enough to the. Body that it can be the insulation layer so if you wanted to layer something over. The adam lt like a hard shell. Our carrick’s alpha for this demonstration you can easily layer a. Shell over the atom lt so on this. Configuration and august i am obviously. Going to get very hot very quickly but. It will sort of show that my complaint. With that alpha was well besides the. Gore-tex material was the length you can. See here even atom lt is longer than. Longer than the alpha is in the front or. More or less the same length in the back due to the capital t’s bias-cut so. There’s that arc’teryx atom lt do. Checkout rama l 77s much longer more. In-depth video on this jacket if you think you’re really interested in this. It is a really great jacket i recommend having at least one maybe even a couple. For a one in the back of each car as you. Now either insulation or rain protection when you need it thanks for watching.

  • Well hey everybody i just stopped for lunch so I’m gonna get some water on the. Boil and then we’re gonna talk about the black diamond hot forge jacket I’ve just. Got a bunch of small twigs I’m gonna put. In there and on my way in i collected a. Bunch of this cedar bark just gonna use about half of it there. Rough it up a little bit things like a. Jet engine. Already boiling in about four minutes with just that much wood just a couple. Chunks and you’re good. So whenever i wear a new coat in one of. My videos you guys always ask what code is that so today we’re gonna look at this one this is the black diamond hot forged jacket now i believe they make this jacket for 2016 in four different versions you can get it in a non hooded version like I’m wearing a hooded version you can also get it in a down blend or in all down i went for the down. Blend because it is lighter weight and more pack able now with a jacket that’s. This pack able something that i can shed as an actual layer i didn’t go with the hood i like to sometimes throw a jacket on over it if it’s really cold i can wear this jacket down to about maybe 20 25 degrees with something as small as just a t-shirt or in this case just a long-sleeve shirt underneath and I’m quite warm today the temperatures right around 30 degrees if it got any warmer i could just shed this layer off throw it in my pack very easily and continue on. Generally the coat that i would throw over this would have a hood so it doesn’t bother me not to have a hood in this style jacket the black diamond hot forged jacket comes at a bare minimum weight it only weighs 13 ounces and you. Get maximum insulation value it’s got a pertex quantum shell with a dwr coating I’ve worn this in the heavy wet snow. I’ve worn it in the rain and it does shed the water quite well and does dry. Relatively fast the jackets got to fleece lined pockets on the side very. Large for things like keys phone they do zip which is nice you can zipper in your. Contents to keep them from falling out when you’re hiking for example is this. Jacket also has a nice pocket here something that you could throw maybe a compass a snack bar in or your keys your phone something like that what i really like about that pocket up front is that. It rides below the sternum strap so when you’re wearing a backpack your sternum strap goes right about here and you could still access that pocket that’s a problem on some other jackets that I’ve tried where it’s up a little bit higher and the sternum strap gets in the way you have to unstrap and access the pocket that was another thing i really like about this jacket is that the collar area is a felt line so that when. You zip it up it doesn’t scratch your. Face or anything like that it’s very comfortable to wear even when you have it zipped all the way up it’s got very nice cuffs on it they are elastic, so they fit right down around your hands if you wear a glove you can simply just stretch that over the glove and you don’t get the gloves overlapping with the coat it’s very comfortable right down into the sleeves inside each pocket. There’s a little tab that you can pull and you can shorten the short cord with. This cord lock here and what that does is it basically just draws in the bottom. Of the coat i leave it wide open and i find that it’s got a great form-fitting shape without having to mess with it on. The inside on both sides you do have a large dump style pocket there for stashing more things and then you have a single ykk zip very easy to zip and it. Is seam sealing here so that it does come together when you zip up the jacket absolutely no wind gets through this coat and it maintains its warmth when it’s hugged right against your body the best feature of this coat is that it’s really lightweight and really small. But still packs a lot of warmth as you. Can see you can take it off and you can stuff this thing right down too almost. Nothing take up takes up no room in your pack if. You put it in a dry bag you can even get it a lot smaller but that’s great it’s. Ash edible layer that’s actually quiet. Warm and can actually be worn on its own now this jacket is a down blend so it. Has 70% goose down in it and then 30% primal opt fibers which gives you good. Durability it maintains its warmth when. Wet and it also gives you that super light capability of being able to pack it down and be very minimal and when. You’re wearing it this is a great jacket for hikers backpackers even camping or. Even people like me that just go out in the woods everyday on a day hike i can wear it even when the temperatures are very cold and don’t have to worry about getting it wet and i stay warm all day. With just a t-shirt on the inside now. Of course, you could layer up on the inside and take this coat even warmer again in the really cold i throw a jacket on over it works great for when your hammock camping you can take this off you can maybe wrap it around your head you can wrap it around your feet and give those areas where it’s needed a little bit extra warmth they also sent along one of their balaclavas this thing is awesome it’s very lightweight it’s made out of a very comfortable material i use something like this when i am at camp give my head and face a little bit extra warmth need it the balaclava can also be worn several ways including just like this as a neck gaiter so it’s very versatile with this stretchy material alright guys so hope you’ve enjoyed taking a look at the black diamond hat for jacket awesome jacket from black diamond I’m gonna leave a link below to their website where you can check out this jacket and other items that they. Carry I’ve reviewed head lamps from them i reviewed hiking poles, so they do have a bunch of different outdoor products and you should definitely check them out I’m also gonna leave a link below to amazon where you can pick up one of these anything that you purchased through my amazon link does help support the channel again i hope you guys give this video a big thumbs up for me leave me some comments below make sure you share this to your friends and family who might be interested on google+ facebook and other social media you can follow me on my social media as well and as always guys there’s a big red subscribe button down there make sure you click it and subscribe for more videos biscuits and gravy slamming, and they. Make a hot forged hoodie which has the hood now i don’t really like to have a hood on what i consider to be sort of mid layer especially in the really cold. Weather. Really.

Three layer membrane so you’ve got a shell fabric you’ve got the membrane that keeps everything waterproof and then a backer to make sure it stays protected for a long period of time it. Uses our ascent shell membrane which in this package is our lightest and most breathable fabric that we have it also has stretch so you don’t have to worry about your fabric binding while you’re moving in the alpine we use dynamic reach panels for our patterning so you. Have full range of motion while you’re climbing you can get that full extension with your arm and you don’t have to worry about it come out of your harness which is a great feature to have we also used a helmet compatible hood so. You can fit it on over your helmet and it’s fully adjustable with integrated cord locks so you don’t have to worry about hiking with the helmet that’s too big and you’re getting it blown off we. Used villain center front zipper it’s waterproof so it’s nice and easy to use so if you need to ventilate really quickly you can just unzip that and don’t have to worry about fiddling with some of those stickier zippers we used. Other waterproof zippers on our hand. Pockets and chest pocket that are exposed so you don’t have to worry about dealing with those flaps like other rain shells our bottom hem has an elastic. Cuffs are adjustable as well to fit over a glove and tighten it down so you don’t. Have to worry about that in our left-hand pocket packs in so all the jacket. Packs and a left-hand pocket turn it inside out zip it closed and has a carabiner and loop on it clip it on the back of your harness for those alpine fast and light missions this is the interstellar jacket for spring 18.

Great about these jackets as well as they pack into their left-hand pocket so you can clip them and store them anywhere or redesign for a and aspire. Jackets featuring gore-tex pack light technology is a durable weatherproof piece that’s sure to be in your pack on every adventure You

Hello you two today we’re going to talk about the outdoor research for a jacket. Pants You You. Before a jacket and pants which were. Made by outdoor research is very good. Choice for a waterproof jacket and shell. System for the ultralight pack hiker or. Or somebody who’s just looking for. Something it’s gonna work keep them dry. A warm went out hiking and whatnot want. Something a little more rugged it’s made. Out of gore-tex pack light which is a. 2.5 layer material and as you can see. It’s very flexible. Almost like paper material and unlike. The regular gore-tex it weighs significantly less and packs down. Significantly smaller when i was in the. Military we had the old-school. Old-style gore-tex it was extremely heavy bulky and you couldn’t pack it. Down small to put your rock saved your. Life this is like much better you almost. Don’t even feel on it feels like you’re wearing a tracksuit you know or a parachute material but uh it looks very. Well I’ve been using it now for almost. Year i started out with the jacket like. This so much i went ahead and got the pants had several features one that’s. Got zips i mean the velcro on the. Sleeves so you can think as pit zips. That go from all the way the top down to. The sides that can be open in both directions so you if you’re wearing a. Backpack or something you know getting. The ventilation is easy because if you can’t get up here as you got your rucksack on so many things unzip from the bottom up to pants are doing the. Same way they have. Zip it goes all the way down the side. You can either open it from the bottom and you can open from the top and the bottom has snaps that underneath you can. That you can use it’s very comfortable. They make it in extra lights extra large. Size for the big guys and like me and. The best bang for the buck right now as far as subscribers anything and material. Quality and everything anyways you can get these at uh outdoor researches. Website still they do have a newer model. That they’re calling something else i haven’t tried that yet but if you can. Get one of the for a system set-ups. They work really well the jacket was. About three hundred and fifty dollars the pants was about a hundred and fifty dollars and you know they weren’t pretty. Good i haven’t had any problems with it. Keeps me dry when it’s raining doesn’t. Wet out even if it does soak up a little. Water in the top layer the it doesn’t so. Crew so you know it doesn’t i don’t get. Too hot in it like i would the. Old-school gore-tex so you’re not. Sweating and if you do get hot like i said it has the pit zips and so forth. But here in the south you know we get a. Lot of rain in fact this trip it’s. Rained almost non-stop this first nice day we’ve had and you know I’ve been. Wearing it out and it’s been keeping me dry it acts as a great windbreak you. Now so instead of carrying a windbreaker and rain jacket and you know. Carrying a soft shell and all that this. • If you’re truly serious about hiking and trekking your eventually gonna want to get yourself a pair rain pants stay tuned for my review of the arc’teryx bata sl pants our text products on a. Reputation for being hard wearing and long-lasting bata sl pants the sl stands. For super light haven’t conceived to be essentially a pair of emergency pull-on ring pants as such they don’t have a ton. Of different features on them, but they’re designed to be lightweight pack down small and be able to take with you basically on every adventure you can imagine and the time since I’ve had them. I’ve taken them on a three-day backpacking trip from Quebec as well as three weeks of expedition in patagonia so as you can imagine they’ve now seen pretty much all the conditions you can imagine they give you an idea here’s how. They come on what you have that leg zipper all the way up on the leg so when. I’m on the trail side you just have to basically work it over the boot so I’ve got one out right here put the other one. On as well pull them up and you’re ready. To face the rain let’s have a look at. The features from the top to the bottom starting the top you see there’s an elastic waistband no belt but there is a tightening toggle here so you can snug them up around your waist next there is a fly on them but this zipper pull is. Extremely tiny so if you’re wearing gloves or you have cold fingers there’s no way you’re gonna get that open so i suggest adding a zip tie or piece or string or something to it working your way down you’ll see this is like a durable water repellent finish on the outside covering the gore-tex layer quite breathable and i found them to. Work well working my way to the bottom is where the real interesting features kick in you see there’s this zipper that comes all the way up to my knee which helps to get them over a pair of boots there’s also reinforcing on the instep. To keep them dry when you’re hiking you’ll see that they’ve been well-worn in patagonia and you’ll notice the shape of the pants. Is actually quite articulated so it’s kind of curved shape and there’s also a bit of extra room in the butt make sure that you can step high over obstacles as you’re going finally at the. Very bottom you’ll see there’s actually a hook to hook on to your laces as well. As some zip bungee on the bottom to. Tighten up around your boot another. Feature that really makes these stand out for hiking and trekking as opposed to just general rain pants they have extra high wear areas you’ll see that carries on to the inside where you have this extra durable more text material at. The instep and focusing on the inside again you’ll notice how all the seams are beautifully seam taped and have no. Edges or anything like that so i suspect this will last a very long time the pair i have is a man’s small waist is about 31 inches I’m generally a thirty inch but with my extra clothing on they fit. Quite nicely over top anything i put them over this is called their nocturne or blue color and it’s also available in. A black collar for the gram counters out there the total weight is about two hundred and sixty grams throw by a patagonia trip i basically had these folded flat and stuck on an outside poach the entire time on my backpack that way when the crazy weather kicked up it was easy to pull up pull on and keep on going and i found in patagonia it’s really high winds these were really comfortable on days like where i had a high mountain pass where we’d be crossing over and there’d be raging winds blowing at it i find this to be just about the perfect all-around pant because it still features full. Gore-tex is hard wearing fits down small. And is easy to take with you with a pair. Like this there’s no excuse not to have decent rained gear on a trip with you that does it for my review of the arc’teryx beta sl pens for more. Information on these and all the products head to arc’teryx calm

I’m wearing the arc’teryx women’s zeta sl pants their bill for summer hiking. And backpacking were breath ability and lightweight are your main priorities they’re 100% waterproof, and they tuck. Away in your pack when you don’t need them when the clouds roll in you can. Count on the high quality and great fit we love from arc’teryx let’s check them. Out they’re a two layer shell and. They’re fully seam taped to keep water and wind out the face fabric is lightweight to remain pack able and. Breathable there’s a gore-tex pack light. Membrane so you can rely on the waterproofness and there’s a coating that protects the membrane from wear and tear the emphasis behind this design is. To give exceptional fit and freedom of. Movement so the fabric moves with you and is articulated for a body in motion. They’re meant to be worn over shorts or a very lightweight base layer arc’teryx. Reduced the bulk around your waist we’re. Pack sits and around the ankles to be. Low-profile it’s a trim fit and I’m wearing a small right now i usually wear women’s six or. Eight in pants and these fit but I’d. Prefer to size up to a medium if you like a looser fit or if you’d prefer to. Wear layers underneath i would definitely suggest sizing up on the. Waste there’s a snap and a fly and there’s a low profile belt on the inside for a comfortable fit the zipper on the. Outside of the leg makes it easy for taking them on and off if you have passing storms throughout the day if you’re looking to upgrade your rain wear. And need reliable shell pants for hiking and unpredictable weather these would be. A great option there are the arc’teryx women’s zeta sle pants call us with your. Hi thanks for joining me today i am. Reviewing the arc’teryx of beta sl rain. Pants the first thing to note is how. Small they are they’re also quite lightweight they’re made of the gore-tex pack light material so there’s just a. Few features to note on these is a very simple rain pants first thing is that. They have an elastic waist and a draw. Cord as well to keep it just into the. Waste that you want these are size medium I’m typically a size medium and most pants except in those prom pants in. Which case I’m a size small like i. Anyway as is typical with arc’teryx all. The cuts on these pants are is very. Beautifully designed it gives you know you have incredible flexibility it’s very well-made oh no another. Note to make about the gore-tex pack. Light material that better constructive is that they are quite breathable that’s. Something definitely to look for when buying a pair of rain pants though or. Rain gear in general there’s only two. Materials that I’ve found that are actually both waterproof pretty much and. Breathable but mainly breathable and. That is gore-tex and even material and. They’ve you know both have their pros and cons another video anyway so the. Next thing they know is that they also have a they have a waterproof zipper for. The fly as well, and they also have waterproof zippers on the cuffs you know. So that you can easily put these. Pants on or to remove them over a pair. Of boots or shoes without having to take those off, and they also have these. Little snaps at the bottom of the zipper to make sure that the cuffs stays you. Now in place and it also has an adjustable draw cord in the zipper or in. The around the cuff and it also has these hooks on the front end of the cuff. So you can hook it on to your laces to keep you know them from sliding down below your shoes. Or boots and then the last thing to note. About these pants is that they have around the cuffs their double layer. Reinforced that’s what this black part. Is just for extra durability excellent. Product i really like them and i highly. Recommend them thanks for joining me.

  • Permeable fabric keeps air circulating for temperature control
  • Grid fabric wicks moisture to keep you dry during your pursuit
  • Item #ODR00LV
  • I’m wearing the women’s deviator hoody at best buy outdoor research vests are. Incredibly versatile layering pieces and outdoor research took effective layering. To the next level with the deviator z’ the materials here are warm for their. Weight and provide just enough protection from the elements without causing you to overheat this vest is. Designed with hybrid mapping they call. It active insulation intentional. Materials and fabrics are located in the. Perfect spots on your body to keep you. Comfortable outside virtually eliminating the need to constantly add. And remove layers throughout the day the. Face fabric is ultralight nylon to block. Wind on the front and provide some water resistance protected by that nylon is. Innovative polar tech alpha synthetic. Insulation it bumps up warmth just. Slightly in those areas most likely to. Pick up chills like the front and sides. The insulation retains its ability to. Keep you warm if it becomes wet and it. Dries out really quickly there’s a stretch mesh liner to protect that insulation on the inside and to aid in. Wicking sweat away from your body if I’m. Carrying a pack or trail running my back. And my neck tend to overheat quicker than my front so i love the deviator because it has polartec power dry fabric. On the hood and along the back. It’s a polyester spandex knit material. That feels like soft fleece on the inside with the gridded backing while. The outside is smoother this is meant to. Fit snug to your body to wick perspiration so it’s stretchy like a base layer and moves with you there’s one zippered. Pocket on the chest and open hand. Pockets but there is a clip on the inside so you don’t lose your keys the. Hem cinches down if you’re wearing a harness and the arm openings are stretchy, so they won’t inhibit your movements the. Hood snugs around your face and fits well. Under a helmet I’m wearing a small right. Now and it fits well with just a lightweight base layer it’s an athletic fit. So it’s meant to fit tighter than traditional outerwear this is a great. Option for backpacking skiing or climbing when you alternate from highly. Aerobic periods of the day to time at. Rest and you can’t have moisture from sweat causing you to freeze leave it on. All day with no worries it’s the outdoor. Research women’s deviator hoody vest. Thanks for watching if you have additional questions about the gear you just saw please feel free to visit that. Country edge comm and get in touch with me or one of our other gear specialists. We also have technical specs about that gear on the product pages of our website and often times we have bonus videos if. You like our channel please subscribe.

I’m wearing the award-winning women’s. Outdoor research deviator hoody this. Piece blury the lines between a lightweight base layer and an insulated. Jacket you’ve got different materials. Different construction here on this piece that makes it an excellent light. Weight base layer for an excellent layering system you’ve got really. Stretchy material here on the arms the hood and on the back but you’ve got insulation right here on the front so. Really great body mapping, and we’ll get into some of the features to break this. Piece down into all of its different. Dimensions starting with the front panel you have polar tech alpha insulation. There’s a really lightweight ripstop. It’s a 7d rip stop material on the front. So you do have a little bit of weather protection a little bit of wind resistance it’s not waterproof by any means but you’ve got that here on the. Front but behind that is your synthetic. Insulation it gives you just enough to keep you warm here on your core and along the side a little bit but it as well. Allows you to breathe as you’re moving in aerobic activity it’s going to wick. Really well and if it does become wet. From perspiration, it’s going to dry out. Really quickly here in the arms across. The back and in the hood you have a really comfortable stretchy nylon spandex knit material it’s high-quality. Polartec power dry so it’s going to wick. Sweat really well it’s really soft on. The inside so it feels great next to skin and this piece also is treated with. An anti odor finish so that’s a great. Feature there going through all the. Features of this jacket starting with a full length zipper you’ve still got. Really lightweight construction there but the ease of being able to take it on and off with that full length zipper. Underneath the hem you have a stretchy draw cord that runs into the side pockets here so if you need to cinch that down really easy to cinch the jacket and on the front you’ve just got three pockets so two nice hand warmer pockets just always. Open pockets there and a small chest. Pocket for items you want to get your hands on quickly you have thumb holes down at the bottom. So the sleeves are definitely long. Enough to accommodate for that just for. Chilly hands if you’re you’re running or hiking and you need a little bit more protection or if you’re wearing gloves or works really well underneath or over. Top of your gloves there is kind of higher collar with this piece so you can. Just zip it up to protect over your face. And there’s a really nice stretchy hood as well again the hood is really soft. Just like the fabric and the arms so if i were to zip that up it forms a really nice seal around my face i can see it. Being great working for running or. Hiking when you just need an extra layer. Of insulation and don’t necessarily want to bring a hat or you know i am wearing. A hat so it works well over top of that as well the stitch lines on the inside. Of the jacket to have a flat seam construction so added comfort there if you’re wearing it next to skin but all. In all the deviator hoody is an excellent balance between a lightweight. Base layer but giving you enough insulation here in the front to keep you toasty warm it’s the award-winning women’s deviator. Hoody by outdoor research.

Hi i just want to do a quick review. Today of the outdoor research deviator i. Have both the hoodie and the best and. I’m going to show you the difference between the extra-large and the large and the way it fits on me i find that these fit a little bit. Strange so hopefully this video will. Help you decide what size you need when you order it in case you haven’t heard. About the deviator before it’s actually a hybrid coat both the vest and the. Hoodie are actually very similar the only difference really being that one has sleeves and one doesn’t dress the. Construction of the actual code is the. Same but the way the coat is made is you. Can see it has a front panel that’s quilted the coat it is a polar tech. Alpha insulation while the back has a. Polar tech power grid fleece as you know. It’s thin and stretchy and it’s you know. Supposed to be ultra breathable i have. Yet to wear these outside yet so when we. Do hopefully we’ll have another review that’s gonna be a field test of you know exactly how much these breathe as you. Can tell by the name of my channel sweaty hiker i sweat a lot and most. Products can’t keep up with it so hopefully this fall we’re gonna have some products that will actually be able to keep me dry when I’m on my pursuits in colder weather anyway it also has a. Hood which is probably why it’s called the hoodies but even the best has a hood another couple features is in the. Pockets first off the pockets do not have zippers but in the right pocket you. Have a little pull tab which allows you to cinch the bottom and then in the left pocket you have another little doodad to. Clip your keys or anything in there so. That they don’t fall out since they’re not a zippered pocket on the front you. Do have a zippered pocket on the chest but you know that’s the only place you. Have a zipper on that if you need to keep something from falling out when you’re climbing or any other thing like that alright so first before i actually. Put these on first I’d like to say i am mo. 511 six feet depends on the day you know. What I’m saying that’s great who knows and I’m about 195 pounds so as you can. See I’m not overly large not overly. Skinny either so if you’re just kind of. An average dude like me maybe this will. Help you i found the large to be too small and. Too snug so why we put that on right now so you can get a feel for what that. Looks like this is of course the best. And see it is really snug tough on me i. Don’t think i would like that too much some people really like it thin like. That really form-fitting but to me it’s. Not that it was good to my movement because the polartec actually is stretchy but it just feels a little. Constrictive the second thing is you’ll see that when you zip this up it kind of. Gets its tighter on the neck in this so. I would pull it together and zip it up. It still goes it romanek it just again. It feels tight to me and also maybe a. Little self-conscious don’t know but i don’t really think it looks all that great on me either the hood might as well show you know it’s pretty good it’s actually a form-fitting i do like this. When you’re wearing a hat i do not like. It when you’re not wearing a hat the main reason i don’t is because the with this elastic it kind of closes in on. Your face and i can feel them the. Elastics that is on the sides of my eyes. Not a huge fan of that but typically. When i hike i haven’t had on so it’s not an issue for me so that again this is. The size large I’m 195 roughly around the six feet one. All right this is the deviator hoody as. I said before it’s basically the exact. Same thing only with sleeves this is the size. Extra-large so you can see it still fits. Fairly snug it’s not like there’s a lot. Of extra room to play but i feel like it gives me a little bit of extra room play if i was gonna wear something underneath it wouldn’t be really bad. The next sticks up a heck of a lot easier the hood still is nice and tight. So that it’s not gonna blow off in the wind though the hoodie actually has. Thumb holes and you like that kind of thing i personally don’t care but a lot. Of people really find that to be a exceptional feature so there you have it. That’s pretty much all there is for this. Review i mean i will do another follow-up at some point hopefully to. Give you a feel for how this thing performs in the winter and fall and. Spring don’t know when I’m going to do the follow-up and hopefully we’ll get a. Feel for how it wears whether. It’s durable whether it’s you know thin. Because as you can tell it’s a pretty thin fabric, so we’ll see what happens so. That’s about it I’m gonna have a couple. Links down below there are affiliate links which to you means basically. Nothing as far as price if you follow up if you want to buy it you can follow on the links below all that really means is. That you know I’ll get a little bit of a commission on the sale but it doesn’t cost you any different if you went there by yourself or if you went through one of my links all that does is help keep this channel going and yeah so if you. Want to purchase one of these links below if you have any questions feel. Free to comment on this video I’ll try to answer to the best of my ability if. Just so you know I’m going to be bringing that vest back if i didn’t see that already so if you have questions on the best I’ll do my best to answer the. Only one I’m gonna keep is this hoodie with the sleeves again thank you for. Watching and I’ll talk to you soon.
