Hey everyone gear review or three one two here today we’re gonna be reviewing the arc’teryx head um lt vest. First impressions love it awesome. It’s arc’teryx i have a number of their products as usual this one’s phenomenal. Today I’m going to kind of go over a quick breakdown of my impressions and. You know everything about the best itself and if you have any questions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out let’s. Start with some basics this is the. Carbon color men’s medium I’m 5 foot 10. I weigh 170 pounds as things that’s perfectly i wouldn’t recommend anything smaller or. Larger severe same size medium and. Adjust accordingly the vest has cored. Loft i kept the tag on so that you could. See that quick background i have the. Arc’teryx atom lt hoodie which i love i. Wear it all the time and i wanted this. On this vest because i felt it would be. Good for weather around 30 to 50 degrees. I live in chicago so the weather is all. Over the place so it’s nice to have something for that range although i could wear the hoodie. Admiralty hoodie if i wanted to but just. A different change of pace so anyways the quarter lot where it’s just really well no complaints keeps you. Warm breeze well a great product it. Really does alright so let’s do a little. Little closer breakdown as you can see. This kinda has like a rip stop nylon. Appearance to it. To the left of it this is standard with. The atoms it’s more of a mesh material. Okay one thing that did throw me off. Guard though was in the inside as you. Can see right here it’s kind of like an. Elastic band that is actually kind of. Cool because it keeps the vast more snug. Around your head so wind doesn’t kind. Only fly up and get into the jacket so. You’re well insulated with this again it. Does breathe well in these side panels. Really help with the breath ability i. Purchased mine from paragon sports and i. Was actually very impressed with their standard shipping i got it and i think three or four days so kudos to them the. Price point 149 which i think is. Standard all over the place i actually couldn’t purchase it on the arc’teryx website because they were sold out, but they tell you to give paragon a try. Inside again on this side not much. Although i do love this like red kind of wine color and then on the right we have. A pocket which is nice there is a pocket. Here and then there’s not a pocket on. This side. Other than that there’s not a lot. To describe i mean if you’re looking for a best if you’re looking for probably the best that you can buy for this. Price point especially i would definitely recommend the art there so. Adam lt and you know that’s really it. Guys if you have any questions again feel free to feel free to ask otherwise. That’s it thanks.
As part of the The North Face’s Summit Series, the Women’s Summit L3 Down Hooded Jacket bolsters a hardwearing design that can withstand the extremes found on high-elevation summits. This particular jacket packs a punch when it comes to heating your core without weighing you down when you’re on a multi-week expedition through sub-zero temperatures, high velocity winds, and thick snowfall.
Filled with heavyweight goose down insulation, the Summit L3 Down Hooded Jacket is the ultimate high alpine midlayer because it acts as your uniform’s heat-trapping layer, but still collapses down to a sensible size for your backpack. The nylon outer shell is hemmed with stretch knit cuffs for unimpeded range of motion while you’re climbing ice-covered walls and finished with a durable water-repellent that sheds moisture as you can hang tough on a snowy belay. A pre-tensioned hood fits securely over your climbing helmet and face so that the fabric moves with you as you move your neck. And the drawcord that adjusts the hem creates a tight seal around your waist to prevent cold drafts from sneaking in as you set an anchor or break camp.
With a water- and wind-resistant outer fabric and lightweight, lofty synthetic insulation that maintains its heat-trapping properties even when wet, the Rab Women’s Altrus Jacket is a great companion for travelling in cold, damp mountain environments. You can wear it as a standalone piece in light snow and rain, and when the weather really starts to turn its sleek profile and elastic cuffs layer seamlessly under your shell. The jacket stuffs into its own pocket, too, so you can easily clip it to your harness or backpack and never be caught without reliable, weather-ready warmth.
Next time you decide to kick back for once, relax in the Black Diamond Women’s Brushstroke Tee. With an understated Black Diamond logo and a soft cotton jersey, this T-shirt is a must-have for your next down day.
Bring the Quick Flash Down Jacket from Western Mountaineering in your pack whenever you head into the backcountry. It’s extremely lightweight and compressible making it easy to squirrel away until the cold kicks in. 850+ down fill offers warmth when the sun starts to set while the tightly woven face fabric offers protection from light moisture such as snow flurries. Warm your cold fingers in the insulated pockets during rest stops and bury your face in the insulated collar when the wind picks up.
Whether you’re camping with your friends along the rocky coast of Maine or watching the sun set over the Tetons from the top of Signal Mountain, let the Rojk Superwear Women’s PrimaLoft Drifter Hooded Fleece Jacket keep you comfortable as you explore the world. PrimaLoft polyester makes this hoodie lightweight and warm, while the merino wool wicks away sweat and keeps you fresher throughout your journey. An adjustable hood provides additional protection when the sun sets and the temperature dips. A slim cut and tidy design ensures classic style whether you’re exploring the great outdoors and running errands around town.

The waterproof, breathable, three-layer Gore-Tex Pro material doesn’t just protect you from the stinging bits of snow and ice, it also cuts right through the biting winds of the tempest that you’re slowly trudging through. As the storm grows ever more violent, bring up the Pluma Jacket’s hood over your helmet and cinch it down with the easy to use single pull adjustment system for additional protection.
Waterproof taped seams block out snow and moisture while also cutting down the bulk of the jacket so you can effectively scramble up the last rocky section of the ascent. Just as you near the top of the peak and prepare to make your descent, you can’t help but want to stop and take a photo. The tall front pockets are easy to access under your harness as you grab your phone while the storm finally begins to subside. Then it hits you, that’s why you put yourself through the inclement weather and high elevations. It’s all for the view.

Here it comes to save the day—the Mountain Hardwear Women’s Mighty Stripe Long-Sleeve Shirt is made from a flexible, moisture-wicking Dynama Stretch Slub fabric that keeps your skin dry and comfortable through some of the hotter days of the summer. A sun-protection rating of UPF 30 prevents you from getting burned, while the anti-odor finish keeps the stink away after tough days on the trail.
So the shirt I’m wearing is the mountain hardwear chiller long sleeve shirt and. This shirt is part of a larger product line up that mountain hardwear has using. A technology they call cool q0 and what. That means is they’ve taken the fabric, and they have put a cooling agent on the. Inside of it that goes next to your skin so that when you sweat it cools you off. And I’ll see if i can let you see the. Little blue circles on the fabric and. That’s what it basically looks like this. Shirt is eighty-six percent polyester it’s fourteen percent you last so. It’s very stretchy it’s very comfortable. It’s soft supple shirt weighs nine. Ounces 255 grams it’s very quick drying. Very pack able i acted up and unpacked it. Several times while i was out testing it i washed a thing in the creek wrung it. Out by hand put it back on in about 20. Minutes it was completely dry there’s. Several features that the shirt has and one of the ones that i like the best is. The caller it’s made so that you can flip the collar up and I’ll show you. Can flip the caller up like this and then it has an additional caller. Extension. So if you want to protect the back of your neck from getting sunburned you can flip the collar up and you can wear it that way that comes in very handy at. Times especially when you’re so unlike me you have short hair the shirt as well. Has venting panels underneath the arm. Right here that run all the way up to about the elbow all the way through the. Underarm and all the way down the side to right here and it’s just kind of. Little panel with a bunch of little holes if you can see there’s one. On either side right there now some. Of the other fishing shirts that i have like the columbia sportswear fishing. Shirts there vince it in the back they have a back flap you know with a little mesh back there underneath the flap those are great for fishing not so great. For backpacking because your backpack covers that vent up okay its shirt like. This is much better for backpacking because it will vent through the sides much more comfortable okay the shirt. Also has a side zip pocket right here. Pretty good size pocket it’s about 4 by 8 inches you get a snack in their Kempis. Oh gee i don’t know a bunch of things you could put in their map maybe if you folded it up pretty good would go in there and the zipper works really good and smooth okay they’ve sewn it on in a. Was that it doesn’t have a bunch of. Saggy material around it that can get caught up in the zipper okay nobody. Likes that now on the inside in the same. Place if i unbutton the shirt right here. There is another pocket it’s just a top-loading pocket right here that you. Can put stuff in again snacks oh i don’t. No pair of glasses i don’t know what. Ipod anything like that you want to. Carry. The buttons are easy to work the. Buttonholes fit the buttons really well they’re nice and tight and the buttons actually are flexible i don’t know if you can see that or not but these buttons been there they got a lot of flex to them they’re not hard and brutal. Now i really would have rather had one. Pocket on this side and one pocket on. This side on the inside is fine but i. Really wouldn’t want both pockets on the same side but that’s the way they made the shirt so i guess I’ll have to live with that also would have rather had. Lapel buttons right here because i think. That the caller just looks a little bit sloppy like that it’s not bad I’m just. One of those people i kind of like lapel. Buttons or maybe even a little velcro tab right there to hold those and that’s something that i might add in the future we’ll just have to see and the other. Feature on this or the sleeves you’ve. Probably noticed i have one sleeve down and one sleeve rolled up right the shirt. Is made with a roll up sleeve tab right. Here that has a snap on it now it’s. Important that you know it has a snap because snap is much easier work with one hand than a button okay so you just. Roll the sleeve up like that and then. You’ll find this little tab hanging out. From the bottom of the sleeve and you just grab that tab and you stick it. Right through this little loop in the shirt like that and you just fold it. Over and you button it well if i get. Then lined up you button it up there you go you snap it rather but you snap it together and there you go and then at any time of course you can unsnap it and roll the shirt back down the cuff has one button i think i would have rather had to another one right here but this is you know that’s adequate now. Well this is a medium and i usually wear a medium shirt but this one is a full. Cut and a lot of shirts like this that. Are designed to be used in the outdoors whether you’re you know fly fishing or. Something like that have a full cut and this makes the shirt more comfortable it gives you a greater range of movement see your father’s fly fishing you know i. Have great range of movement nothing’s binding nothing’s tight sure it’s very. Comfortable the hem on the bottom of this shirt i probably can’t get it in the camera frame but to him on the bottom of this shirt is just straight across it’s not tailored to be tucked in so this shirt can be worn out and it looks fine that way which is usually the way i wear a shirt when it’s hot outside you just get better ventilation without. It being tucked in you know so this. Is the mountain hardwear chiller a long. Sleeve shirt you can find more detail. About this shirt and the written part of my review thanks for watching.
Hi it’s greg from get out their gear reviews and I’m wearing the men’s integral pro long sleeve tee from mountain hardwear if your anything like me you probably have more race shirts and you could ever wear and most of them are probably textured so what’s. The appeal the sure like this wow i find. That most race shirts have a limited lifetime and are typically made for warmer temperatures this shirt is designed for warren fit contains wool yeah you heard me right wool i don’t. Think I’ve ever owned a wool sweater let alone a little running shirt so i was eager to test this one out to be accurate it’s a proprietary material called wick cool which is a blend of polypropylene and what’s described as. Sustainably sourced merino wool my first thought was that wool would not make for a comfortable shirt however it is very. Comfortable and really is quite soft it actually wears like a comfortable cotton shirt so that’s a check mark for general comfort and I’ve yet to get it snagging. It like i do it just put all my textures so that’s a check for durability it also performs well out on a run and cool weather the blend of wolves warmth and the wicking and drying of a textured make for a very functional shirt which i really enjoy wearing for me it feels. That whole my running kit where it’s too cool for a t-shirt but i know if i wear a running jacket I’ll be too warm it’s. About minus five degrees Celsius right now or 23 Fahrenheit and too warm for me. To wear a jacket oh and a rhyming you might have a different temperature point but you also probably have this dilemma. Between shirt and jacket this morning i was out for a 17 kilometer I’m and light. Winds and with just a light layer underneath i found this shirt get me nice and warm I’m wearing a large which. Is my typical shirt size and it fits well with generous sleeve lengths if you’ve seen other reviews I’ve done you know that’s a very important criterion for me and my long arms so another check. Mark for overall fit and the sizing chart on the mountain hardwear website i will point out however that it has simple cuffs without thumb holes which. Is something you might find in some other cold weather garments although it contains wool this shirt is machine washable and washes very well I’ve washed it at least six or eight times. And it is held up nicely I’ll also point out the stitching which is quite substantial and speaks to a well-made shirt and makes for a distinctive look and i like the high-neck which you can zip up when it’s particularly cold and you can see there’s a small cover for the zipper to prevent chafing and irritation to sum it up the men’s integral pro long sleeve tee is a very good cold weather shirt it’s comfortable like cotton it has the warmth of wool. And aware’s and washes very well I’m craig forget out their gear reviews be sure to subscribe to our channel and check out our other reviews on products suitable for intern sports outdoor recreation and adventure.

This technical shell is constructed with Gore-Tex Pro, offering waterproof protection that still lets your legs breath on difficult routes. The gaiters can be adjusted to fit over ski or mountaineer boots, and the edges are reinforced so you don’t ruin your pants with crampon spikes. Climbing-harness-compatible front pockets and dropseat mean you won’t have to take off your harness or pants, and with suspenders and an adjustable waist, they’ll fit so perfectly you’ll never want to.
The Norrona Women’s Falketind Flex1 Softshell Pants give your legs all-day comfort whether you’re backcountry skiing, ice climbing, or alpine climbing. These pants are Norrona’s lightest Flex1 softshell pants. Flex1 softshell gets bathed with a DWR coating to offer your lower half breathable, weather-resistant protection. The fabric is supremely stretchy and smart about sweat so your legs won’t get tanked by a damp feeling. The gaiter hook grabs hold of boot laces, and the ankles take a snappy approach to adjustability so you can secure these pants over your bulky mountaineering boots. Two angled hand pockets up front shouldn’t harass your harness, and a single rear zipped pocket is a convenient place to stash any small essentials.
When your idea of fun is heading up the mountain the hard way and feeling the rush on the way down, you might need something to keep you moving all the way up and safe from wind on your downward run. The North Face Summit L4 Proprius Softshell Pant seals out high altitude winds and keeps you ready to conquer the next peak.
Whether you’re making an ascent on a snow-capped mountain or climbing on a chilly fall day, the Rab Women’s Ascent Down Jacket provides lightweight warmth to keep you toasty without weighing you down. Wear it by itself for everyday excursions or layer it under a technical shell in harsh weather—either way, you’ll love the comfy and cozy feel.
Its Pertex Endurance fabric is water-resistant, windproof, and very breathable so you don’t have to take off your jacket to get some air while you’re working to reach the top of the mountain. Insulated with low-profile 650-fill European duck down, the Ascent is surprisingly warm despite its light weight. The down also makes it easy to pack this jacket; stuff it into its included stuff sack and stash it into a tiny corner of your backpack when you just want to wear the Ascent for your descent. Plus, it has a hydrophobic treatment to prevent it from getting soggy and losing its insulating properties in wet weather.
The Ascent’s hood has a wired peak to keep the elements out while offering an uninhibited field of vision, is helmet compatible, and has the same lightweight insulation as the rest of the jacket to keep your head nice and toasty. The nylon liner boosts durability, and the tricot-lined collar is soft against your neck and chin. Its hook-and-loop cuffs and drawcord hem tighten this jacket down so you don’t have wind blowing up your sleeves and body. The hand-warmer pockets are lined with fleece to keep your hands cozy as they warm up from the winter chill.
The rubber cent jacket is perfect for. When the temperature drops using the finest quality duck down this jacket is. Impressively insulating keeping you lovely and warm to fleece lined pockets. Keep your hands nice and toasty and an. Internal pocket is great for any valuables the down-filled hood and fleece-lined. Collar provide warmth to your neck and. Head keeping out any cold drafts as does. The longer body length and adjustable hem and cuffs water-resistant but not. Waterproof this jacket is perfect for those chilly winter days ideal for everyday use in. Colder temperatures and just as at home on the walk to work as it is on the hills the rubber cent jacket is as well. Available in a female version.
When you’re hiking or climbing in wet weather, it’s never a good time when you have to choose between being dry or being comfortable. With full waterproof protection and a stretchy construction, the Patagonia Stretch Rainshadow Jacket lets you have both without needing to choose. It’s made with a waterproof and breathable H2No membrane that’ll keep you dry from the outside without leaving you soaking with sweat on the inside, and features a stretchy face fabric that moves with you and not against you to help you push on in rainy weather. This shell is also now made using ECONYL, a recycled nylon ripstop that finds innovative ways to reuse nylon, like taking material from discarded fishing nets and bringing it back to life in your outdoor clothing.
In addition to comfortable movement, a super lightweight feel, and an eco-friendly design, the Stretch Rainshadow has lots of feature to help you thrive in inclement weather. The helmet-compatible hood fits easily over a climbing helmet when storm clouds roll in unexpectedly, and features a laminated visor for optimal visibility. Underam vents allow for a steady stream of cooling airflow when you’re out in warmer climates, and a drawcord-adjustment hem helps seal out the cold when you’re pushing on late into the fall. You’ve got zippered hand pockets that keep necessary gear stashed and secure, and a chest pocket that doubles as a stuff sack when blue skies return and you want to shed the shell.
I’m wearing the women’s patagonia stretch rain shadow jacket this is an. Extremely lightweight and stretchy. Breathable jacket that is completely. Waterproof and it’s perfect for those. Adventures where you need something lightweight that you can pull out of your pack and put on and know that it’s going to protect you from the elements the waterproof features of this as well. Make it very wind resistant so you’ve. Got a great lightweight shell here that’s got just enough features that makes it perfect for any adventure the. Material here is a two and a half layer. Stretch nylon h2no performance shall the. Fabric itself is waterproof but it’s. Also coated with a dwr finish this. Fabric is extremely breathable so that dwr finish on the outside helps the. Water to bead up runoff it doesn’t get. Saturated into the fabric at all and that helps it keeps its breathable properties so you don’t get the water building up so you kind of hold in your. Heat and your water vapor it definitely. Is breathable that way and the incredible stretch of this jacket really. Makes it versatile for all different activities it’s not going to slow you. Down and even the look of the fabric. It’s not super shiny like some other rain jackets so you can get away with wearing it when it’s not raining you don’t feel like you’re wearing that slick shiny shell the features here are. Simple so they keep it lightweight down at the bottom hem you do have a stretchy draw cord that goes around the whole hem. Of the jacket so you can cinch it in here down on the bottom you do have a. Watertight zipper both on the full. Length zipper of the jacket but also on the pockets on the chest pocket and the pockets on this side so you’re gonna be protected that way two hand level pockets these are perfect for hand. Warmer pockets they’re gonna keep your hands nice and protected, but they’re set up high enough here that if you’re wearing a harness or if you’re wearing a backpack with a hip belt you can still access those pockets and then you have that chest pocket up here for smaller items you do have underarm zips here and. They’re really easy to access so and. They’re really big zippers so you can really just dump all of that excess heat out of the underarm zip there and that’s. Going to keep you nice and cool inside the jacket and then moving up to the. Hood you have a nice collar here up at the top so you can really protect your face if you need to and it is a helmet. Compatible hood so the hood is certainly. Big enough you could wear a climbing helmet underneath of there or even a bike helmet if you’re wearing it that way but you do have some adjust ability. In the back so you can make the volume. Of that hood be a lot smaller so if you’re not wearing a helmet if you’re hiking or backpacking you can cinch that down and you have a stiffened brim here. On the front and that just keeps the rain from getting onto your face the fit. Here is really nice right now I’m wearing a small and it fits me really well I’m just wearing a lightweight. T-shirt and kind of base layer underneath of it and i feel like i have plenty of room to move if i was wearing. Some insulated pieces underneath of this. I might want to size up to a medium but as far as the stretch here as far as the. Fit I’ve definitely got some room this jacket isn’t going to weigh you down it’s extremely lightweight it’s breathable again so it’s gonna dump out. All of that excess heat and it packs down to be nice and small so you can pack it away when you don’t need it’s. The women’s patagonia stretch rain shadow. Jacket. You.
Hi I’m krista torgerson i work for. Patagonia out of venture california, and we’re here today to talk about our new stretch rain shadow jacket we developed the stretch rain shadow to work for lightweight backpackers chequers and especially rock climbers. First and foremost the piece is full stretch we need that mobility when moving through the mountains, so we used a really lightweight two-and-a-half layer fabric and it maximized the stretch in. The material we made sure that the back shoulder panels have a continuous piece. Of fabric from elbow to elbow this gives you maximum stretch while using the product again itself stuffs into its own. Chest pocket which is really nice for climbers being able to carry on route it’s got a clip off loop then we place. The two hand pockets really high to stay clear of a harness or a waist belt from. The backpack the hood is helmet compatible to work with your climbing helmet and again the whole thing men’s medium weighs about 272 grams the. Stretch rain shadow jacket is available in spring 16 it’ll retail for 250 euros. Again we built it to be a really versatile piece ideal for rock climbers backpackers and lightweight trekkers. You.

Jacket this is a new lightweight offering from patagonia and this is the nicest lightweight jacket that I’ve seen. Come along in a long time in that two to. 250 range comes in a 229 and it’s just a. Beautiful coat the inside fabric is extremely nice and extremely slick its. Completely seam sealed so it’s a totally waterproof breathable coat it’s made with patagonia’s proprietary. H2no fabric so it’s very durable and tough but extremely lightweight great. For packing to the flats or something like that and also really good for fresh water if you just have something in your backpack you want to take it out and throw it on it stretches so it stretches. Lightly so you’re gonna feel it kind of move with your body as you’re kind of moving around and you know working your way up a river or whatever it has. You know really great hood design just a simple crown adjustment and the backs just gonna come right down over your head it has a little bit of a bill on it. So it’ll pop out protect your face from the rain just a simple cuff design on. That on that jacket with the velcro so you can kind of you know get it in around your wrist it does have a chest pocket there as well as two hand. Pockets on the side hand warmer tight pockets on the side but i think the most. Exciting thing about it what i really look for in a jacket like this is the quality of the fabric and this fabric is. Is really outstanding as soon as i saw. It i was like man that’s that’s our new really lightweight raincoat so i hope you take a look at it’s the stretch rain shadow jacket from patagonia it’s 229 and it’s just a fantastic coat so i. Hope you take a look at that thank you.

Fill goose down the vest is highly pack able with an impressive warmth to weight ratio it’s been carefully. Designed to sit close to the body and because it’s a vest there’s no restriction of movement when you need it down composite mapping strategically. Placed it is call off synthetic insulation in areas where moisture may build up and goose down in areas for. Maximum warmth despite being designed as. A mid layer the cerium has a durable water repellent coating to shed rain. Drops from the fabrics surface so you’re prepared for that unwanted light shower a zipped chest pocket offers a little storage and corded zip calls make opening easy even when wearing gloves an. Elasticated hem and stretch bound arm holes have been thoughtfully added to prevent any unwanted drafts and keep warm thing so that you can enjoy your day output the high collar provides extra warmth but if you do become too hot there’s a full-length ykk zip which offers great ventilation and a chin guard has been added for extra comfort. Hey there it’s andrew from back country skiing canada calm we are here at. Boulder hut adventures for a week of ski. Touring in the per sells with the ansi family having a great time and i just wanted to tell you about this mid layer I’m wearing right now first of all just so you know what I’m wearing on the outside is the lithic comp jacket from our carrick’s to take a look at that go over here now. Underneath here I’m wearing the cerium lt jacket and if you’re curious to learn. More about down insulating down and. Synthetic insulating apparel you can go over here and check in that area so the. Cerium lt jacket is the lightest of all. Arc’teryx down products offered our. Tareq’s got into the down world about three or four years ago and this is one of their first offerings what’s unusual about it is that it incorporates you. Now the body mapping technology what have you but what it basically boils. Down to is that there’s core loft right here and here and on the shoulders so. Core loft is something that you can get wet and it still stays warm and core loft is something that we have it’s. Included in other jackets we have as well. Reviewed so basically this is a mid. Layer jacket but it’s still very. Warm I’d say it’s a mid layer jacket largely because of how it fits this is a. Large I’m six-foot to about a hundred. And seventy-five pounds but it’s fairly. Snug everywhere even under the arms so it works best underneath the jacket as a. Mid layer basically you have two hand. Warmer pockets here with zip ups a great. Hood with a simple drawstring on the. Back and no pockets on the inside if. I had my druthers i might like a pocket. Here but it just maybe perhaps wasn’t. Included because of the extra weight. So this is the arc’teryx cerium lt. Jacket and i put it in my i put in my. Pack — just as a backup layer or if it’s. A really cold day I’ll wear it as a mid layer it comes in a myriad of colors this is the blue color obviously the Coyle blue check the website check the. Arc’teryx website to see what colors are available now because they change fairly often lots of cool colors so check it. Out oh that’s it the arc’teryx seria melty. Jacket I’m andrew from back country skiing canada thanks for listening and check out our website back country skiing canada calm for more gear reviews trip reports and other fun stuff thanks for watching.
Hey guys today i want to do a review of the down jacket i used on my appalachian shelter hike and i use the art eric cerium lt hoody really great backpacking. Down jacket i think this is its main purpose is for backpacking comes in at nine point seven ounces uses about three. A little over 3 ounces of 850 850 fill. Power down which is really nice high quality down and one thing i really like about this jacket and it kind of sets it apart from other jackets in this class is arc’teryx uses core loft 80 synthetic. Insulation in certain places that are kind of known to gather moisture. Normally so like right here this is the. Mouthpiece so you can see the square right here that’s core loft insulation so when you have it zipped up your breath just from. The moisture in your breath that can naturally get wet and Karloff does a much better job at staying warm when it’s wet than down, so they put core loft right there they also put it on the. Shoulders here which is really good because when you’re wearing a backpack strap that can stay warm right. There because it’s its keeping it tight against your body also and under arms. Here they use core laughs so this is. Triangle piece right here that’s coral oft insulation also notice that the underarm is gusseted which makes it really nice gives you better articulation and there’s more range of. Movement so you’re not getting bunched up and just makes it more comfortable to wear for a long period of time and the. Last place they put it is right here on the wrist of the jacket so you know all. This right here is core loft and then the rest of it is down super nice i think that’s a really good idea and it just makes the jacket kind of you know. The next level kind of jacket that and. Kind of company that arc’teryx is they put out really high quality stuff as far. As fitment of the jacket is also standard arc’teryx nice slim fitting I’m. 6 foot tall and weigh about 150 pounds and the size medium fits me perfectly. It’s long in the arms so i can actually it doesn’t it doesn’t stop short which. Is really nice also on the wrists they have a nice little elastic cuff. Kind of keep it helps keep it tighter around your wrist to help them drafts coming in but really slim fitting but it’s you know it’s a down jacket so. There’s gonna be a little bit poufier but it’s slim fitting so you don’t feel. Like you’re wearing like this gigantic down jacket really great some things i. Would i would use this jacket for are mainly backpacking because of its light. Weight and its warmth to weight ratio is outstanding but also it’s a really good. Jacket for around the town just everyday stuff and like in the spring and in the. Fall on chilly days chilly nights this. Is a really good jacket for that because it’s a lightweight down jacket it’s really not meant for like cold weather like really cold weather winter stuff that’s not what it’s made for so because. This is primarily a backpacking jacket it does come with a really nice stuff sack unfortunately i can’t show you that because i lost it, and they have. Hopefully i can find it i know it’s here somewhere i just can’t find it right now, but they actually have on the inside of their pockets or one of them anyways. They have a way they have a loop in here that’s the drawstring from the. Stuff sack will actually tie into that way you don’t lose it like i did so if. You do get this jacket just leave that on and that way you can just kind of. Stuff it rights into it and just make sure you always put it back in the pockets hopefully i can find that again because it stuffs down to a really nice size it’s only like this big which is. Super nice so one thing about this. Jacket though is because it’s a lightweight down jacket and if you go. From pretty much anything like you’re. Talking backpacking stuff anything robust is gonna be heavy so if you’re. Trying to save weight usually that involves a shaving weight involves going. To thinner materials lighter stuff is. Always less strong than more robust. Stuff so it’s just something to be aware of so i brought out another down jacket. I have which is my fjällräven down jacket and this is definitely a much. More robust jacket also notice the size difference like how i was talking about it’s probably this jacket isn’t really a good standalone piece for the winter it’s mo we made for you know backpacking and. Like chilly nights whereas notice the. Size difference this is uh i use this as. Like a winter jacket you know much thicker much heavier but it’s also more. Robust so i just want to show you the difference real quick. And i think a good representation of this is the zippers see if you can. Hopefully the camera can get this just the difference in size of the zippers and how much more robust that the fee aravind one is much thicker much heavier. Duty and even the actual zipper itself the teeth on the zipper are a. Lot thicker and there’s its much. Smaller on the arc’teryx jacket which is a good thing if you’re looking to save weight that’s definitely a good thing this is gonna be a much lighter jacket was just something to be aware of that when you’re zipping it you know it’s probably not something that can take as much of abuse as the something. Bigger I’m not saying it’s gonna fall. Apart immediately or anything i mean i went my whole thru-hike with this thing except for the on the summer months and it lasted great I’d never had any problems with it and that’s why I’m doing a review on it cuz it’s something i love never had a problem with it but if you are really hard on gear or you’re. Looking for something that you know is. Gonna get beat up probably might not be. The best option but also at the same time i don’t know arc’teryx makes really high quality stuff and I’m sure it’ll I’m sure it’ll last so a couple other features about the jacket are on the hood it’s an adjustable hood so you can cinch it down around your head try and keep that warmth in and keep the draft out it’s pretty important and on the sides it has two hand pockets nice big. Pockets big enough to get your whole hand in there and keep them warm as well as store some stuff in their obviously pretty standard stuff um so i mean a. Downside to the jacket is that because. It’s down you have to keep it dry that’s really important when i was on the 80 i used a pack cover and a pack. Liner just to make sure i was keeping all the water out but it’s just something to be aware of if you’re not a huge fan of down they do make very similar jackets i believe they’re called the adams like the adam lt which is made. Of 100% coral oft so it will be a little bit heavier and but. I mean the positive to that is it’ll stay warmer when wet but if you’re. Looking for like absolute lightweight you really can’t beat the warmth to weight ratio it down so something to be. Aware of this jackets coming in at about. 350 bucks 360 bucks something like that. So what is on the higher side but you. No i kind of believe that you do get what you pay for and arc’teryx makes really high quality stuff so you know. Just another option for you if you’re shopping for down jackets and yeah. Thanks for watching see you.

Whip the Mountain Hardwear Women’s Micro Ratio Down Jacket out of its pocket before you set your lead climber on belay. Its light and lofty down insulation adds warmth to brisk belays, chilly alpine environments, and cold ski resorts. Mountain Hardwear’s Q.Shield Down treatment helps the down retain its lofty warmth in wet conditions. Stuff the Micro Ratio Down Jacket back in its pocket and clip it to your harness when it’s your turn to climb.
So this is the micro ratio down jacket. It’s got a really awesome wait to warmth. Ratio and it’s a really great piece for. For layering when it’s pretty cold out. I it’s super pack able and it goes really. Well when layering with other base. Layers its super compressible its toes. Into its own pocket and from there you. Can stuff it in a backpack or clip onto. The back of your harness and it’s pretty much the perfect piece for any scenario.
Mr. energy’s extreme energizing equipment yeah all right we got the. Mountain hardwear micro ratio hood a down jacket smooth strong like me light. Fabric and is durable and weather resistant two zippered pockets q shield. Down 600 fill retains loft even when wet. Oh boy.
I’m wearing the microfiche of non-target. And i use a lattice project because it’s. Really light it’s really comfortable on. 3d warm at the same time. Last year i use a micro issue in patagonia because he doesn’t condone technology which keeps the moisture away. For us it’s very important to go on a. Three-day long trip to keep you don’t. Like it dry a matter some wet dom that. Is going to be frozen by the moon. It’s great for all conditions for all things. You.
Hey guys what will disappear hi today we’re gonna be taking a look at the women’s mountain hardwear micro ratio down jacket so this is ideal for your. Autumn and your winter walking it’s got q shield technology which has a 650 fill. Of down as well so it’s nicer than that right just gonna keep you nice and warm and has great wicked ability as well okay. Let’s take a closer look at its features so i really don’t try to keep it minimalistic this jacket is all about keeping you warm so the only storage you’ve got is your two traditional hip pockets on the bottom there well you’ll notice with the hip pocket it’s slightly raised so if you are wearing a climbing harness or if you’ve got your you know your hip straps close around your hips you still have access to the pocket itself nice and wide entry on the pocket. Even i can get my hands in there but space though is really cool you’ve got nice depth to it but the height overall pretty much is really good i mean it’s pretty much owns that seam there and it goes all the way down. To the bottom of the jacket so if you’ve got an os map or a harvey’s map should have any issues with the storage and because it’s all is it what your pop in there will stay safe and secure so you’ve got an exposed main zip on the. Front there right behind it you’ve got your storm flap so that’s designed to keep the windchill affecting your core body temperature so that has the shield q technology as well embedded into it to keep you nice and warm on the inside it’s pretty much a standard affair so. What you’ll notice though the channels of the down itself and not straight so. It’s kind of economical ii designed all kind of fitted or tailored fitted as you were and if you were to a basically move. Around with you so it’s going to wreck to your body a little a lot quicker as well so if you’re cold it’s going to warm you up if you’re hot it’s going to you know hope you breathe there’s a say ticks all the boxes does exactly what it says on the tin keeps you one there’re no pockets or anything on the inside there i mean is it what’s up let’s take a look at the code up so the collar itself is all down as well you can see it’s nice and high if i just spin it round there. We go even on the back there it’s nice and high on the neck so it’s going to protect your neck from all the elements and the so it’s gonna stop any wind cold winds you’re going into you know into the top part of the jacket it’s not part of the jacket interfering with your core body temperature now have a guys this is a great jacket if you like anyone from let’s just head over to simply hi code at uk or all the latest news and information in the hiking mode just head over to our social channels.
Adam here forget out their magazine today i am bringing you a comparative review of two down-filled jackets by mountain hardwear Over here we have the ghost whisperer down hooded jacket and on this side we have the stretch down rs hooded jacket let’s break down what it’s similar first. At first glance you think that these may be the same jacket both uses similar fabric the rs is slightly thicker fabric in the whisper but both are extremely thin and feel like they could rip easily. But let me tell you they’re surprisingly durable after extensive use i have yet. To fiber rip and either of these jackets now each has a drawstring waist and each. Has similar down fill and provides. Similar warmth 750 down fill for the rs. And 800 for the whisper both have mountain hardwear’s q shield down which is treated to be water repellent however both jackets soak throughout their two hours in a wet snowfall finally both. Have down-filled hoods which do not have draw strings, but they do stay on tight even in high winds and that’s really where the similarities end the whisper has an active fit which is. Really tight to the body where the rs of the performance fit which is more room through the waist shoulders and arms for reference I’m five-eleven 185 pounds in both jackets are size medium the whisper. Is the world’s lightest down hooded jacket well at least that’s what the mountain hardwear website says so don’t quote me on that but it is extremely light it only weighs in at 7.7 ounces. Where the rs is also very light but it’s. Almost double the weight at fourteen point nine ounces to keep the weight down the whisper has a minimalistic design and only two zippered hand pockets while the rs has two zippered. Hand pockets a zippered chest pocket in the internal mesh pockets the cuffs are. Both very different drs has a traditional small outer elastic while the whisper has a unique design with the down fill all the way to the end of the sleeve and it has a hidden elastic inside the cuff to keep it in place surprisingly i found this was much better to keep the cuff in place during activity than the rs cuff a neat feature of the ghost whisperer is its ability to be stored away in its own pocket it folds up to the size of a large water bottle which makes it super convenient on days when the temperature or your activity level maven the rs is a version of mountain hardwear’s new stretch down line and to. Be honest i didn’t find there to be much stretch in this fabric however i did find it to be pretty comfortable at the end of the day i found the stretch down rs jacket to be great for leisure activities like walking the dog and hiking as well as general wear around town i also have had many compliments on. The style of this jacket on the other hand the ghost whisperer jacket has not had any compliments for the look and that may be due to the color but it is a way better choice for someone who’s looking for a down-filled jacket to be active in i have found this also to be. Useful as a mid layer under a hard shell jacket because of its nugget let it sit from the outside these jackets are very similar however depending on your use they are quite distinct so hopefully this video helped clarify that for you know if you’d like more information on either of these two jackets or any other mountain hardwear products please visit their website listed in the description below You.
