It’s summer, let’s take a look at a really light piece of footwear, which can be great for staying tech in this hot weather. These the Keva classic sandal, which I bought in two colors I, was originally pronouncing. This fever I looked on their website parent, it’s not perished ever, which sounds weird to me, but there you go, there’s a funnel that for you. So these are something which I often see recommended when people ask about sandals, specifically kind of tech, looking more functional utility, sandals and also sandals, which aren’t going to break the bank, these retail at 35 pounds in like 45 50 dollars.

These ones in particular, though I actually picked up in the sale on Heather’s website, and these were Half Price I think these are like 17 quit like they’re, practically paying me to wear these, so I thought I would test these out by picking up two pairs and so I’m, not particularly spensive I got these ones which of these kind of resync black to white, fade type thing, and these ones, which are all white with a marbled camo sort of outsole.

As you can see, there’s not too much going on with these. They really are pretty simple, so the sole is made of something called spider rubber, which is designed for traction and durability. There are, then, a series of straps which are used to secure your foot, which, given shape by these little triangular rings here. These two straps are adjustable to Velcro, so you can make it as tight or as loose as you like.

The connecting strap in the center here not only looks cool and gives the sandal a little bit more substance, but it’s also designed to increase its structural performance. So your feet don’t twist into awkward positions or anything when you’re walking about the result of these straps is a very lightweight shoe perfect. If you need to get your toes out, but they retain way more stability and performance than your average flip-flop would so they’re perfect in the hot weather, and if you want to retain a little bit of functionality, you know you’re walking around, maybe doing a little bit of sports.

You don’t want you foot to get to you, moist moist moist, and these are going to be perfect. I purchased these true to size and they seem to fit me just fine I do find both with the bottom strap here, the one that goes over your toes. If you do this up too tightly, then my foot was rubbing like on this little ring a bit here. So you do be a little bit careful of don’t over-tighten this bottom bit just keep it kind of average tightness and you should be fine.

This ankle one up here, I didn’t seem to have the same problem with that one. So by all means secure this one nice and tight, but then maybe just a little bit more relaxed around the toes, and you should be fine considering these are just a glorified flip-flop they’re, not actually too uncomfortable, there’s just about enough padding and cushioning in the sole from not to be immediately uncomfortable when you’re out walking around and there’s a little bit of padding a little bit of softness in these nylon straps as well.

So I didn’t really find any problems with these rubbing. When I was walking, is it like wearing a pair of line of racers or sock, racers or ultra boost, or something obviously not? This is in quite a different league for that. But are you going to find these uncomfortable I would also say no I think for for this kind of shoe they’re pretty decent. You can’t expect too much more. Luckily, TEVAR have this particular model.

I think they’re just called classic something like that in loads and loads of different colors, so whatever kind of fit you want to work these with. You can pretty much find something that will work, as you guys have already seen. I pick up these white ones, which are like super summery, a very, very light casual wearing, so I wore these ones quite a long holiday a couple of weeks ago, and they held up just fine and also these black to white phase, which I think look sick on the website.

This was more of a kind of purple color here and it’s actually more like a blue. So it’s a little bit different too I imagined, but they’re still pretty sweet and I’m quite happy with them. These are probably a more practical of the two colours you can pretty much just throw these on with anything and you’ll, be fine and, of course, since they’re black, they won’t sharp the dirt too much. The same cannot be said of these ones.

I wore these pretty much solidly for about a week and they are now definitely not as white as where I bought them they’re. Definitely more of an off-white sort of car now, but, to be honest, I think, that’s still! Ok. You can’t really expect something like this to stay coke way forever. I’m sure these will be fine long time you can go stomping around in the mud or whether you might even be able to machine wash them I’m, not sure how welder will come out of these nylon straps.

Maybe you can kind of like bleach them back to a wire or something but yeah just keep in mind. These are going to stay perfect forever. Obviously, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that you wear this kind of thing. Your more traditional tack fit, which no is quite heavy with like jackets, mid layers cargos all that sort of thing. These are probably going to look a little bit out of place. However, if you take it very, very summery, like text, we short or something some cropped, pants, really light, breezy kind of t-shirt, shirts and the raggy.

Perhaps all that kind of thing, I think these will go pretty nicely with any of those things. Of course, you can still have some tech elements, but this kind of thing, for example, that I’ve had to go in your bag, which I looked at a while ago, which any you guys are generally pretty keen on there’s those Cobra style belts which a lot of people have been wearing cropped. Car goes for the Mike’s heavy paper to them.

Get those pulled up. Black socks go kind of full ninja style. Any of that sort of thing, I think, will work great with these. If you’re, not a hundred percent feeling these, though you think they’re a little bit too utilitarian looking without really being very techy, or perhaps you just think, they’re a little bit too. Normally then I do have some alternatives. You could definitely check out sue eke, okay, who have a lot of sandals that are this kind of style, although definitely pushed more in a kind of fashion, E direction, you do you pay the extra price for it, but some of those are really sweet, so I’d definitely recommend checking those out and, of course, the white three caster sandals that I looked at a few weeks back would definitely make a good alternative to these and I think you can wear them in a lot of the same fits so that has been it on these two pairs of tether sandals.

So today, I’m going to test out hiking in these are a little thicker more padding. The straps are a little more substantial um, so we’re gonna give that a test. We’re gonna, do a few miles today and see if my socks slide around see what the comfort level is see. If I feel the impact and do a comparison and um more to come on that and some more beautiful views as well talk to you guys in a minute. One thing: I’ve noticed almost immediately very similarly to the zero shoes.

My pinky toe came right out of the slot for the pinky toe to be in on my gingy socks. I’m also sensing that I need to tighten up the tevas just a little bit similarly again to what I had to do for the zeros. So we’re gonna try to tighten those up a little bit and see how it goes. So. What I found by tightening up the tiva straps is that it actually wanted to pull my foot back toward the back of the sandal, which made it quite uncomfortable because it just felt like my foot- wasn’t where it needed to be in the sandal.

So I’m going to try to loosen things up a little bit more, maybe kind of split the difference. Um they’re cushiony, but the foot just doesn’t seem to be right for hiking. Yet I’m gonna play around with the straps a little bit more and see what we can figure out, I’m about a mile in and I’m having to play around with this quite a bit. I was really hopeful at first they’re super comfy, super cushiony wasn’t feeling the stones.

I’ve even been stepping on some roots and testing those out. They feel great uh. They feel like a shoe as far as the the ride goes, but something about the placement of the foot front and back and getting that right is um. I hope I can figure that out, because this could be a really cool option. Okay, update on the tivas um, the overall ride is great cushion, is awesome, not feeling the stones not feeling the roots big difference between these and the zeros.

As far as padding comfort goes, I I think I would be more than happy to take these uh on a several mile hike as long as it’s not a lot of ups and downs on rocks, because I don’t think the uh there’s a lot of grip on them. They’d be slippery um, here’s what I’m not liking about the comfort level, my pinky toe continues to I don’t know rub up against, is the right word, but press up against the strap on the side of the sandal.

I don’t know if that will cause a blister in time. I don’t know if it will cause my pinky to hurt in time, but I notice it especially on my left foot and it’s annoying. I can’t stop thinking about it now. I don’t know why it’s not happening on my right foot, so I think I’ve got to continue to adjust the strap see if I can’t find the perfect spot, but I don’t like that. We’ll keep trying got some uh more distance to cover more ground to cover and see if that continues, so the tivos they work as good as anything else on sand and if you know, michigan sand, you know it’s a pain to walk through and even worse to walk up, so they passed that expect inspection because well everything kind of sucks and it’s hard look at this view behind me, though it’s worth it totally worth it love michigan.

We don’t have mountains, but we have freshwater oceans, not too bad, not too bad. Just another observation with the teva sandals, the heel strap sits a little lower than the zeros and the entire time I was hiking today, which is several miles um. It always felt like my heel. Strap was either going to fall off or, like my sock was coming down. It wasn’t, but because it sits lower and it’s a little more substantial than the zero just always feels like it’s coming down again.

They operated fine, but the feel of it was just awkward. Okay, so pros and cons of the tevas on the pro is that it’s a sandal? It’s lightweight. Pretty minimalistic, if you’re looking for that type of feel, if you want some fresh air air movement through your feet, that sort of thing spot on the major pro above the zeros is that there’s a lot more cushion on there so um, I don’t think it’s gonna impact, your body, your knees, your shins, your tendons as much it’s going to be much more gentle on your body.

Now. The cons in my opinion is the buckle toward the the pinky toe constantly was pressing on my pinky toe, and that was quite annoying. The backstrap always felt like it was falling down or felt like it was pulling my my sock down. I didn’t like that at all and then a couple other cons. It’s really. These are all comfort things I felt like my foot was moving around a little bit more and I think if I was to do several days with several miles, I think I would get some blisters that form on the balls of my feet, so that could be a concern just not quite as snug, not quite as kind of wrapped around your foot as the zeros.

This might work perfectly for a different person, but for me the tivas might make a good camp shoe or maybe for just a good mile or two hike. If you want something real cushiony, if you’re going to be on some stones or a lot of roots- and you want the sandal, but if I was going to hike in a sandal, I’m going to hike in the zeros, not the tivas. So I hope this information on the tiva sandals in comparison to the zero sandals was helpful for you.
