Outdoor Research Refuge Hooded Jacket - Women's
Constructed with new insulation technology from Outdoor Research, the Refuge Hooded Jacket provides resiliency, breathability, and stretch in a synthetic insulation piece that keeps you warm even when wet. This new insulation technology, VerticalX, offers warmth that is more akin to a 700-fill down than most other commonly used synthetic insulations. It's also more breathable thanks to the lack of an internal backer meaning there's less of a barrier to moisture moving through the jacket. VerticalX is essentially synthetic insulation with better loft and a lot more stretch.
The stretch from the VerticalX is highly appreciated when climbing in the cooler temperatures, skiing on fresh powder days, and making your way up to a remote mountain lake in late fall. The water resistant face fabric keeps you dry in light moisture and the brushed tricot interior keeps you extra cozy warm when the temperatures really start to drop. When your adventures are over, the jacket packs into its own pocket for easy carry until you need it next.

Hi this is daniel with hiking the ozarks. I'm here today to talk to you about the ark tech gamma ar pants these are a soft shell type of pant really a three season kind of pan. Through a brush lined on the inside which adds a little bit of warmth to them but not more of like a police line like a four season pant would be so i really like these especially in the fall especially in the spring and actually in the ozarks here where it's not overly cold in the winter i can get away with them most of the year but in other colder climates are probably more of a three-season pant some of the features about them got two nice cargo pockets on both i they come. With a zip on each side which i really like so i don't lose anything out of it's got two zipper pockets in the front here hand warmer pockets really like that got the full zipper in. The front for the crotch obviously good. Things and they come with a belt i hate it when pants don't come with a belt i really like that feature even though that's a small thing but i really like it they're obviously an athletic type of fit but you can get them in a couple different sizes from our kara come along too short and things like that the pant. Legs themselves kind of have a more of a straight leg kind of fit like a straight like jean would have but because of that it keeps the bottom really tied around your food and it has a little loop down here in the bottom you can simply attach to your shoe string and you can tighten it up on the bottom because it has little draw cord you basically keep these things really tied around your boot and the purpose of that is to try to keep you from really needing the gator if you don't really absolutely have to have one so put a gator on top of these things like i do a lot of times and a deep snow and things really got a bullet proof system in place to keep the wind out keep the snow out you mud out to rocks out things like that these fans are also really stretchy there's a nice stretchy material in here which Arthur is really good about making in their pants even though the insulated. Worms so they're run about $199 again. That's that's maybe more than some people want to spend, but they're really good the last a long time you can just drag these things all over the place you're looking for a really good soft shell type of pant definitely want to check the arterial gamma a arp and i think you'll really like it pretty much indestructible.

Hi there it's georgia from the outdoor. And today brand-new up the shelf we're going to be taking a quick look at the 8. X flex range from the north face now. I've got two jackets here and i deliberately chose them in the same color just, so we really have to try and. Spot the differences now the third jacket is the apex lex 2.0. And Marilyn the model is wearing that. Today and the second one that I'm wearing is the apex flex furthermore. Jacket now the difference is in the name one is a different type of vortex shower. And one has a thermal insulated in so. Let's take a closer look at both of the jackets and give them a bit of a comparison just so you can actually see the difference so let's take a look at the jacket that I'm wearing first then this is the thermal apex flex jacket now. It's a two layer gore-tex answer shall. And inside the thermal properties it has. 18 gram primaloft synthetic insulation now that 80 grams. Is wrapped in the body and then in the third and in the sleeps you have 60 gram primaloft synthetic insulation now this jacket is 100% waterproof its. Also a really percent was the prints as you'd expect with this sort of jacket and it allows your body to breathe as you're working out there walking on the hills or whatever activity you choose mystic let's take a look at some of the closer features that make this jacket really stand out then it's not the standard velcro cups which can be. Adjusted so you can keep that winch it out it's also got a really nice take hip. Up the front which goes all the way down. The front ranks of the jacket it's not too hidden pocket and the seams there. Are using the weight just to give extra protection in those pockets on. It has pit zips for extra ventilation. Especially you sweat it out and getting really warm one thing i really. Liked about this jacket is that it's got a removable hood so you can take the. Whole hood off as well as adjust it to fit your head so if you don't want the hood on the jacket and you prefer a jacket that just sits neatly around your neck so you've got room to lose you can fully remove the hood now the weight of. This jacket is 300 grams barely know it. Wait for an insulated soft shell jacket. Now this jacket comes in a standard sit i have an average size 10 and this jackets a medium and it fits me quite nicely I'll probably be able to squeeze into a small but the medium just gives me that extra room you wouldn't need to. Layer up in this jacket because it's actually really warmed especially with that thermal primaloft lining I'd. Recommend this jacket we use for everyday activity walking hiking trekking that sort of thing you do get. Quite warm in this jacket and there isn't an option to take that thermal lining out so think about what you're doing and whether this jacket might be want to you know really the model is. Actually wearing the north face 8 x flex. 2.0 jacket now this jacket has a bit. More of a slim fit as you can see around. First sight and it has a three layer gore-tex shell which means that it's. Great for your activity where you go up to climb a new house but it's definitely the sort of jacket that will take that rough and tumble wear and tear. Especially with its three layered gore-tex shall now it is made from a. Soft woven fabric so it's great to the touch and again it's 100% waterproof and. A hundred percent wind proof again it's. A breathable jacket and it comes in a. Variety of different colors the membrane. On this jacket is druvan bond it both to the inside and outside of the coat so this is really. Robust and it gives you extra protection now again this jacket has the adjustable. Velcro cuffs there and it also has a. Front pocket which means that you can. Store things right near your chest if you wish to it has two side pockets. Either side again being able to store. Your walking essentials now this jacket also has pit tips for. That extra ventilation if we take a closer look at the hood this jacket. Unlike the thermal has a fixed hood so you can't take it off the apex flex 2.0. Jacket however it is fully adjustable. And you can pull it in tightly and neatly around your head the same as the. Thermal jacket but the other feature of the thermal jacket is that that hood is. Fully removable so the main difference. Is there between the two jackets the 2.0. Has the three layer gore-tex the thermal. Have to layer gore-tex the 2.0 it's just. A standard seam sealed gore-tex outer. Shell with annoying membranes attached. To the inner lining whereas the thermal. Has that primaloft synthetic insulation. Which is obviously going to keep your core a lot warmer when outdoing your. Chosen outdoor activity both jackets a. Waterproof windproof and breathable so you don't miss out better and the. Thermal jacket has the removable hood whereas the 2.0 bonus fix the 2.0 weighs. In at 350 wraps where if the thermal. Comes in a bit domitor at 300 grams and. That's change the 2 layer gore-tex rather than so there is that a bit of a comparison between the apex flex from the north. Face now I've chosen the two red colors. Just so that we really have to look to. Find those differences, so they do come in other colors and other colors are. Available from us in the outdoor if you. Like what you see please subscribe to our website give us a huge thumbs up on the video and if you have any suggestions on other comparison videos with products that you'd like to see being compared and do drop us a comment in the box below, and we'll see what we can do for you thanks around.

I am a size 27 or women's 6 in pants and these run very very small. I quickly realized I needed a size10 to accommodate natural movement in the mountains as well as my long legs. Otherwise, I love the features and butt zip-off area of these bibs / ski-pants.. now I don't have to get completely undressed to go to the bathroom. A wear these with thin wool leggings underneath and tall wool socks when I'm ski-touring and they are wonderful. No stretch whatsoever, but the Gore-tex has never failed me!
Bought this for my wife who is 5'11" and thin. It has a nice cut but the length is almost comically short on her.
I got this for my wife for christmas and she reports back: This jacket is replacing an old northface jacket that lasted me over a decade. It's a bit thinner than I expected but I love the shape and the slight curve it accentuates in my waist. Hoping this jacket lasts as long as my last one
I really like these pants in that they are both functional and comfy. I wasn't sure I'd like them at first because they are so thin and have no insulation at all, but with a base layer, they are quite warm in temps of 20-40 F. Below 20 F, I'd suggest two base layers. The fit is pretty lose around the thighs for me, but the waist sits prefectly on my hips. I could wear these pants all day! Curious to see how they feel in warmer temps. I have not worn them yet in rain or snow, so I'm not sure how water resistant they are.
I purchased both the size 4 and 6. The difference is very slight; I actually think that one of the sizes is incorrectly labeled b/c I can't tell the difference. I am 5'6", have skinny legs and weigh 135 lbs. I do NOT have curves. I wear a 27/28 jean in 7s, Hudson's, R&B and Paige. The waist on both the size 4 & 6 is too tight. I can't figure out why Arct'eryx put a cinch belt on the these pants and chose to have such a narrow, high waist. Ladies, let me reiterate. These are VERY high waisted pants. I've been wearing the size 6 for 10 minutes and there is no way I can keep these. They're too uncomfortable. Such a bummer b/c the purple color is fantastic. If the waist were lower and more forgiving, I would have ordered a second pair in black......
I bought this jacket in Large thinking it probably would be big and blocky like all other brands since I usually have to go up a size because of my wide athletic shoulders, long arms and waist (5’11 rower here). This commonly leaves an unflattering box shape depsite my relatively trim waist. I was pleasently suprised to find this jacket fit my arms, shoulders and hips but with a nice feminine curve to actually show my waist. This all confirmed my decision to keep the jacket since it could now double as a warm funcitonal jacket while backpacking as well as wearing out day to day without looking like a PCT’er popping into town. Thanks for making a jacket to fit a girl that’s active and as always making it top notch quality!
TNF has great layering with their ThermoBall tech. I have this in a vest and I absolutely love the vest because it gave me extra warmth where I needed it. Now I can only imagine that the jacket would give full upper body warmth to the wearer aka my mother in law. I highly recommend if you have a relative or someone you know that needs to keep warm.
My new favorite go-to for most days. Fitted look which is really nice. Perfect for most weather. Only down side would be the material, could be a little more water resistant as it got dirty quick.
The were exactly as described. Comfortable and great to hike in.
