Cajun Bowfishing Winch Reel
Howdy folks tax revenue outdoors new videos every Saturday so. You don't to Masada detects Grabber outdoors Saturday morning cartoon awesomeness make sure to click subscribe. And check my channel every Saturday for new videos. Ilove reading your comments. Ireally do appreciate. That watch today I'm going to show. How to set up a Cajun fish fix. And I'm going to show. Iplan to set up my Cajun fish stick the Cajun fish stick comes with pretty much. Everything you need to get. You started but I've also got a couple of tweaks on the design. That are going to make. It a lot more user-friendly. It does come with a bow fishing arrow. It comes with a wheel rest. It comes with finger guards for your string the first thing. Idid was pull those darn things off. Idon't believe in using finger guards. This bow is such a rock-solid bulletproof design. That comes for about 150 dollars. You could hunt here with. This thing and I will show. This put together just. How well it actually shoots targets as opposed to using the wheel tie press. That comes with I spent 15 extra dollars.
One of these n AP wire flipper rests so to put. This together you're going to want to take your limb bolts. And put them in first just get. One started hold the bushing up. And then slide in your limb rocker generally speaking with recurve bows the bow limb is not marked at poundage is the. You would actually put on the top limb. These limb rockers have got nubs on them. That actually fit into the limbs themselves which keep them from torquing they give. You an allen wrench. You don't have to worry about getting these like super ger tight but. You do want to make sure. You use the long end. And twist them down good. Now time for the bottom limb so at. This point limbs are on the bow tighten down. It does come with a good quality bowstring but.
Ido not like these finger guards. They limit the usefulness little loop always goes on the bottom limb. You could string it up like. And look like a doofus but. This string needs some brace height. Or you're going to be slapping yourself in the wrist. And you're also not going to get as much power out of your bow so you're going to want to twist. It about 15 times many times. It takes to get this loop about 6 inches down from the knock here on the end I'm just going to stand up. And carefully string this bow. And literally the rule of thumb here is. You want to actually be able to spread out in the hang-loose sign touch your pinky. Or your thumb to the bow. Or I'll do this touch your thumb to your bow. And have that string right there possibly past your pinky finger. What this is going to do is it's going to give. You enough raised height to make sure. You don't hit yourself in the wrist but it's also going to make sure. All the power in this boat. Ihave put this bow on the scale at 28 inches.
And at 8 inches of brace height. And I'm pleasantly surprised. This bow actually scales out at 50 pounds. Though the limbs are marked at 45 pounds but speaking of the string I use a brass knocking point so. If you've got your wheel rest on again. Iuse an N AP flipper but. If you've got your wheel rests threaded into your riser. And straighten out by the way. You would actually tune. One of these rests fast. And dirty just take two nails hang the bow up from the two nails. And then twist your rest in until the arrow hangs down flush from the string using the plumb-bob principle, so I'm not a thing and of the Cajun safety slider, so I've got an AMS safety slider here just going to take a Philips head screwdriver turn. This screw on our slide. That safety slider off take my AMS style slider slide. It down over put my screw back in so.
Now I'm just going to tighten. This back down but this Cajun point is a darn good bow fishing point. You don't actually have to trade out for an AMS style slider occasion. And AMS don't know me from Adam so. You can trust what I'm telling you to do, but we've got the bow together we've got. It strung up we've got brace Heights in. You can have a bow shop set. It up for you and tune. It up for you but in my case. If you're like you do stuff at home you're going to need a knocking point pliers. And you're going to need. Some knocking points. And obviously you're going to need. One of the flipper rests. You really want to get the. Most out of this Cajun fish stick but. You want to use the wheel rest. That comes with it you're going to want to turn. This set bolt in all the way thread. It into your riser until. When you've got this hanging from two nails straight up. And down you actually have your arrow hanging right in.
That groove and then you're going to want to take a wrench. And cinch this down carefully against the riser so. It won't wobble loose. Or walk around on it comes with. One of these drum style bow fishing reels which is fine. Idid in fact make a video on how to make a drum style reel at home. That just twists into the riser just like. This then turn that not down getta pliers. Or your wrench you use to set your rest with. And cinch that down. And you're good you've got an arrow you've got a drum real you've got a recurve that's got set with brace height you're pretty much golden. Imentioned using a flipper rest instead of the wheel rest. And a brass knocking point instead of the finger rollers. These are just regular carbon arrows with feathers on them but with the flipper rest. You can also use blazers. Or four inch plastic vanes for a hundred.
And fifty bucks for this bow fishing kit plus. Some incidentals like getting this flipper rest for 15 twisting up your string out. Some raised Heights in. You literally are into a bow. That is worthy of actually deer hunting with so in theory. You could buy one of these bows in the summer go fish with. All summer and then next summer go fish with. All summer and then take. It to the deer woods in the fall. You are really getting your money's worth. It comes to this Cajun fish stick 3 into 10 but I'll prove. Now keep in mind I'm not setting any distance records here but three arrows in the ten ring and. All I've changed about. This is instead of using. That wheel rest I spent 15 dollars on an na P flipper.
Iput on a brass bead on my string and so you're literally under $200. And you're in archery man. What more could you ask for now. Ido not like the drum style reel so. Now I'm going to show. How to get more awesomeness out of. This by putting on an AMS bow fishing retreat so here's my completed setup 150 dollars buys. You an AMS bow fishing Retriever kit that's going to come with two arrows but. You don't need two arrows. Because they're extras. Because the Cajuns fish stick actually came with a bow fish nail but. It comes full line you get the retriever two arrows. And the line fifteen dollars buys an N ap flipper rest I've traded out the finger rollers for a brass knocking point that's going to help. Me shoot accurately with. It with regular carbon arrows. When I'm not bow fishing, so I'm really getting a hell of a lot out of. This package for the three hundred dollars. Or three hundred and fifty dollars.
You would be spending to get an AMS kit along with the Cajun fish stick kick. This drum style reel will work but as. Iactually traded out the safety slider on. This Cajun arrow from. This Cajun slider to the AMS. Because the AMS has to tie off points I'm going to take my bow fishing line wet the line. It through one eye wet. It again runs it through the other eye. How I've got a good long tag in here I'm just going to take. That lay my arrow down. And I'm going to make a loop. Now from the bottom side I'm going to run through the loop. And then I'm going to run right over top of. And then pull it back through the loop. This is going to create a bowline knot. That will not slip you notice. This extra long like. That is so when your arrow flies. That the line is coming out directly behind. It so it's not going to be kicking one way. Or the other that's going to be very helpful in accurate shooting fish over longer distances.
And hitting bullfrogs but there isn't. Anything at all wrong with the Cajun setup as. It comes to you with the wheel rest. And the drum style reel but as. It comes you're definitely going to want to twist up your string to. Where you've got enough to. Where you're saying hang loose between your riser. And your string but right. Now in theory I didn't already own the AMS kit right. Now with this flipper rest. Than the wheel rest I've got a perfectly serviceable recurve bow. That I'm now a hundred. And fifty dollars for this setup plus $15 plus arrows bow fish. All summer hunt deer in the fall. And Turkey in the spring if you're good enough so hope. This video is helpful to. You in showing you how to set up a Cajun fish stick to not only do. It my way but get the. Most out of this is kind of mutant. Because I've got AMS gear on here n AP gear.
And it's a Cajun bow, so I'm not making any friends in the archery industry but by god I've got three hundred dollars investment in a piece of equipment that's damn near bulletproof as always god bless. All misfortune of America join the NRA to protect your rights. This guy my friends over at SOE tackle Viacom thank. You very much losing involved in law enforcement knows he's serving the military thanks for watching text wrapping it outdoors.

Muzzy Pro Spin-Cast Bowfishing Reel
Hey folks Chris James again here with Ozzie bow fishing I want to talk to. You little about the HD pro real I've got. This mounted here on our new vice boat fishing boat we're going to talk to. You a little bit about the reel. It is available that comes in the kit here in the Vice kit but it's also available individually for purchase the pro reel has a built in reel seat here. You can see it also has an extended hood. That cones out a little bit. It also has a switch instead of a button back here on the back so. This reel is designed so. That it's one bolt installation that's. You have to have is. One bolt to get this thing mounted to your boat. And use a ball and socket to mount. One bolt here has a star washer on the back so. It doesn't twist you see it's nice and secure there it's not going to not gonna rattle like. What you would get with. Where goes back and forth likely to get with a regular reel seat. You would normally have. It does have an adapter here a port on the front so. You can put a finger saver. Or a shoot through rod. One of our other items. We have for this year as of the new shoot three rods but. You can put on there. You can put a line puller. Anything else on there as well. Some features of. This reel just like. All of our Muzzio fish. And rails has increased line capacity so it'll hold 150 feet of 150 pound test line. Or a hundred feet of 200 pound test line as a stainless steel roller pickup in that's in there.
It is redrilled for a second pickup pin. If for a lot of your tournament shooters. You wanted to add a second pickup pin. You can do that it's got an. All stainless and brass draft system spring-loaded pick up a lot of different things. That are in there but the big thing here is the switch so. You flip the switch right. It sits in the reeling position. You flip that gives. You a visual indicator. It is open it is able to shoot so then. You can turn the handle. Nothing happens it is not going to reel. That line at this is important especially. When you're shooting big fish. That are soft fish it was black Asians big heads. You shoot those the first thing you want to do is to click. And start reeling and we're going to let.
That fish do its run before. Any pressure on you don't you're. When it's putting all. That pressure on the barbs their skin is so soft. And their flesh, so I'm just gonna rip the chunk of flesh out. And you're gonna lose the fish so to reel. You simply flip it back over. And then start turning your handle. You can work you flip. And flip it back that's just like the button was pushed on an old reel so. If you're fishing in really shallow water. You don't want to run over the air with the boat. You flip it over flip. You can then just reel. It up just like what you would with a normal speed cast reel it's got a butt knife. We do have a version of.
This year that has a button on. It as opposed to the switch for some of the people. That just over the years lack the. How lightweight this is but just have gotten so accustomed to the button. That's what they feel comfortable with so. We made a version of. That Pro reel this year with the button on their so check. All of our mozi reels out at MOSI go fishing calm Thanks.
