About crossbow bolts and what you can can't use one of the biggest misconception is that you can only use bolts that come with your crossbow and that's that's not true you can use any. Means there's a lot of tension in that string now you're shooting a normal compound bow you've got a little bit of a pull until you get to your letter if you're 80 or 85% let off as you go over the cams but unfortunately with a recurve like this you're pretty much as. You pull the string back the tension gets tighter and tighter and tighter but the guy's Excalibur I've come up with this nifty little cocking aid here let me show you how to use it right now first things first get your foot into the stirrup now I'm. Pretty tall so i can reach both down both sides of the stock but if you're a little bit small you just might need to put the stock to one side of your body but as yet my stomach hasn't over grown. That so first thing you need to do is. Clip on one side of the cocking aid then. Run the cable through this groove at the. Back of the stock and then you got to reach down and pull the cable up and. Attach the other hook now you can see. That's pretty up pretty much equi distant either side of the stock of the. Riser there so and then you grab both of. These handles bearing in mind that it's going to now pivot across the back of the stock here and pull up until it's. Engaged now you have it so that bow is. Now charged and ready to fire now on the. Back here of the bow there is a safety. Catch so now it's on green it's on safe. Which means that we can also now put a. Bolt in here now there is on these Excalibur bows there is a an anti dry. Fire mechanism which you can just see that that little hook where my fingers. Pointing probably on the head cam in here now that means that it won't fire. Unless there's a bolt ready to be fired in that groove which is pretty important for shooting a recurve bow last thing you want to do is that string flying forward and causing damage to the limbs. So now it's all charged it's ready to go. There's my target, so we're going to see. How close we are or clatter how close our skype is so. Locate the arrow into the groove so. Right now what I'm going to do take the safety off now aim for the middle. Of the target so shooting a little bit. High but we can do cock it again put. Another bolt in and see if we get. Ourselves a group. Let's go again. So as you can see there's pretty tight. Grip even particularly as i was shooting kind of free hand off my knee first three shots ever with a crossbow this is. About 25 yards now i was aiming for this. Dot in the center here so as you can see I'm about three inches high and about. Three inches to the right now this scope. Has a aiming system see zero for twenty. Yards and then it also has the drop points for 30 40 50 and 60 so what I'm going to do now pretty happy with a gripping is going where it needs to be going just the scope move our bench out. Or move myself out to 20 yards away safe. And get it grouping in around the center, and then we should be ready to go i think first thing on the menu tonight is pigs.

Just by the label but this is and i had. Previously had one ordered and it was a. Nightmare i ordered one of these cheap chinese crossbows you'll see them under various. Names panther jaguar i don't know what. The other ones are like my experience. Was not positive it was quite bad. This thing was a real piece of crap the. Safety fella first time i used it would. Not cock correctly even with a cocking. Device guys sent me parts to fix it. Fixed it still wouldn't work and then. The next time i tried to use it the. String broke and ended up cutting me so. We got rid of that found a good deal for. This one and what was left from the. Other one so this is the carbon express. Piledriver like i said i got this for a. Really good deal this is supposedly they. Say 390 feet per second of course that. Is probably with the lightest arrows possible and latest tip as well so comes. With the cocking winch as well as from. What i understand it comes with a standard cocking device comes with three piledriver arrows and a. 4 by 32 scope i have heard here and there the scope is. Not the greatest we shall see i don't. No i have other scopes i have rifle scopes. This i am very new to the world of. Crossbows so we shall see how that goes. But there is very little. Information on the internet for these. Crossbows or anything there's a lot of. Information out their carbon express. Arrows and bolts very little on their. Own crossbows and i do believe they do make some bows as well they make a. Fishing boat but very little information. Out there on their bows so this is gonna. What you get this is an again this is just gonna be an unboxing what you get is the manual of course warnings of. Course never fire it never dries fire it. All right so carbon express has they. Have about four or so four or five. Crossbows in their line their current line the blade is the i think the lan. The lowest here and then there's a blade pro and then there's this one this is. The piledriver and then i think there's more like one or two more above that but. This one of the reasons i wanted it is because it comes with these the string stoppers here and it comes with. It also comes with some silencers but i. The very little that i have heard I've. Heard there may they may not be so great. All right so again you get one of these standard things that says don't return to the retailer they want you to send it. Back to them hopefully we won't that. Send it back at all but i will keep this. Just in case so you have your footrest. That is the quiver. It looks like a let's get some toys off. I love look at that get this off and. Look at that that is a beautiful camo. Pattern one of the reasons why i got. This over again over the blade. The blade has kind of i don't know i. Think it's kind of just an average-looking camo that they put on a. Lot of a lot of hunting type stuff you. Now which hamill I'm more of a traditional person i like. Multicar and i like cryptic and that's. One of the reasons that like this is. Because this is kind of cryptic pattern or cryptic pattern as they call. It now i was in the rut when i was in. The running for my crossbow i that is a. Beautiful looking bow i tell you dad i love that carbon express style branding — hopefully this. Performs as well as it looks but it from. Very early my fortune for tray. Foray into crossbows i don't know what. Their triggers are like if you can get. Anything as good as a trigger on a rifle. Probably not is what I'm thinking so but. Much you're gonna be able to see it's. Nice it's got elevation markers i don't know if you're gonna be able to see this i kind of doubt it. Yeah i know i don't think you're gonna be able to see in there but it does have. Some it does have some elevation markers. So that's good that's gonna be good for. Crossbows so you know we'll use it. Primarily because i think that's gonna. Be my best option for now so all right. So there's that the limbs let's see if we can get these. Off just so you can see them better and. The knife I'm using today is the kershaw. And this is the oh god i can't even. Remember which one this is but this is a handy little knife i think i did a. Review of this one once if i did i will. Itself and from what i hear these are. These are pretty nice bolts a lot of. People use them very nice they've got. Nice others are fairly sturdy these they. Do also make these with light up notches. I've seen them advertised i believe. These sell just stock like this i. Believe you can get i think like six of. Then for about forty bucks you can get. For the same money i believe you can get. Three of them lighted so just to show. You what else is out there let me see if. I can find now these are the other ones. I bought to go with it these are just. For shooting out in the back these are again these are carbon express users are just carbon cross bolts twenty inches so. Again these are just for. Shooting practice but definitely a. Difference between them a lot more. Attention has gone into the pile drivers. Than these cross bolts. These cross bolts i think they cost. Around four and change each you can get. Those at Walmart so there we go. That's it that's the entire package you're going to get with the 390 piledriver I'll pick this up one more. Time so you can take a look close and i. Do believe this grip is a standard ar. Style grip and it's got a it's got a. Compartment here that is definitely an. Ar grip i know you can't see in there. But it is but it's nice that they give. You this little compartment in here too you can carry batteries or something. Else in there that you may need in the field i don't think you could fit a bra. Head in there this maybe it may be a mechanical i don't know i doubt it. But it's nice anytime you have extra. Storage spaces its nice so there is. That this oh here's your here's your. Rail loop right here that's nice i guess. You could put the rail loop in there that'd be a good spot for it now. This is supposed to be adjustable as well it looks like maybe you may have to. Adjust it with a allen key i don't know. Does come with spots for a sling. Mounts forward and rear there is a broad. Head wrench right there on the stock so. Very nice very compact little crossbow. I'm to put this together i may or may not film it if i do I'm gonna go through it. And we will probably speed it up because. It's probably gonna take a while so but. I just wanted to give you this initial view of the bow really like I'm really. Liking this grip by the way i know the. The blade comes with pretty much just a. Standard air grip this one a lot nicer. Not only does it have the. Compartment a lot grippier and it has. Some rubbery parts here as well on the. Back and the fingers as well so real. Nice real nice hold on this yeah very. Nice i was thinking about replacing this as well but boy i don't know i like this a lot you know i was initially i was. Gonna maybe you know because I'm I'm a rifle guy too i was gonna put some magpul parts on this but i don't know i really like the. Was this is stock so we'll see anyways.
