Lake CX 237 Wide Cycling Shoe - Cycling - Men's

Stop squishing your wide feet into medium-width shoes and telling yourself it's fine. One look at the rolling topography of your feet should give you a hint about the uncomfortable future you have ahead of you if you don't start giving your tootsies some breathing room when you ride. And really, it's as easy as buying Lake's CX 237 Wide Road Shoe. Exactly the same as its hardworking mid-range CX237 shoe, the wide version gives you an additional 15mm of pressure-relieving bliss compared to the regular width, so you can actually let your toes splay out and take advantage of their strength when you're pedaling.

Just like the regular width model, Lake builds the CX237 wide on its Competition last, which provides a contoured fit to capitalize on power transfer from the ball of your foot. You'll be able to drive power straight through to the pedals using the unyielding carbon sole, while two micro-adjustable Boa dials give you the ability to make infinite adjustments to the fit of the heel and forefoot so you get a secure fit without sacrificing circulation. As if that weren't enough, Lake takes the high road and constructs the uppers of the CX 237 using full grain leather, accented by airy mesh paneling to make sure your feet can still breathe inside the shoe.

    Chrome Storm 415 Work Boot - Men's

A work boot needs to be able to "work" in any condition, which is why Chrome created both the 415 and the Storm 415 Work Boots that are featured here. With Chrome's Storm technology, the 415 combines the hardworking, waterproof durability that's required for daily riding with the laid-back San Francisco styling of its "415" namesake.

Chrome constructed the uppers of the Storm 415 Work Boots from an oiled, full-grain leather. On top of this, the shoes feature the Chrome's Storm waterproof technology — an internal membrane of four-layer breathable, waterproof fabric. And to make sure that absolutely no water get's through, Chrome also gave the Storm a fully-taped seam construction. The uppers were attached to the last and sole using vulcanized construction, which also provides a flexible, yet durable sole. At the footbed, Chrome used a contoured polyurethane that's impact-resistant and features a blown rubber midsole wedge for comfort. The soles are board lasted for pedaling comfort, which is really why Chrome created the 415 Work Boots in the first place.

Outside of the 415's commuter advantages, Chrome made them to be the ultimate freestyle/lifestyle shoe. The heel is protected from bails by a rubber heel cup, and the midsole is reinforced with a nylon/glass fiber shank. The 415's moderate profile also makes it easy to get in and out of either toe straps or cages. So, you don't have to go down with the ship when the ship is sinking.

Finishing off the shoes are steel aglets that keep the laces from fraying, a padded collar at the ankle, and reflective rear loops that increases your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.

  • Serious boots for working in any condition
  • Storm technology adds waterproof durability
  • Full-grain oiled leather is long-lasting
  • Four-layer breathable membrane keeps moisture out
  • Vulcanized sole construction seals from beneath
  • Board-lasted soles elevate pedaling comfort
  • Seel agles keep laces from fraying over time

  • Hello this is tom Randall from gear. Mashers and today i wanted to showcase the shoe I've been riding in this is the pearl izumi pro liter 4, and so they have. The pro liter 3 which is an older model I've been riding in this one for about three months now mostly indoors on the. Trainer i like the shoe because it breathes. Relatively well it has a lot of channels here on the side that allows air and it. Also has some screens down at the bottom that also allows a little bit of airflow. The insert has a bunch of holes in it. It's you know it was more or less your basic insert but it works really well the shoe itself it has is a seamless. Upper and so you're not gonna have any. Issues with your foot rubbing up against something the other neat thing is the. Tongue on the shoe is asymmetric meaning that it's not gonna be the same on each. Side and so it rides a little bit higher. On the inside of the shoe and a little. But lower on the outside of the shoe. Boas are positioned on the outside so. When you're riding if you need to adjust your few it's really easy to reach down. And hit the bhojas have no issue you. Don't even have to look the other really cool thing is so these are the ip1 boas. Which are sort of bowie's top it lines. Have nice rubber feel to them and it's a. Click in click out so click out to. Release the tension click in to add tension and so if you turn it clockwise. You can hear that clicking that tightens. It but you can also turn it counterclockwise to loosen it up and it. Has a 1 millimeter micro adjustment so. You can adjust it either way either tightening or closing it the other. Really cool feature about this shoe is since the boas are offset or pushed out to the. Side they don't ride on the top of your. Foot and a lot of times I've written with other cycling shoes that have the. Bow as on top and sometimes you can get a pressure point on the top of your foot if you have the tension cranked down a. Lot which i tend to like to do and moving these over to the side seems. To eliminate that issue at least from what I've experienced the other neat. Think about these is the bottoms even though most people aren't going to really see them i just thought it was sort of cool this is what they call. Electroplating and it has sort of that rainbow color to them just makes them sort of neat i saw these. When i went to inter bike for last year. At the 2017 and her bike and i was like wow they just had these things set up i. Have a feeling that this will get scratched a lot if I'm out on the road they do have a replaceable bumper here. So you access it from inside so you just. Move this over and there's a little screw there that you can access it but the shoes are pretty hardy I've been. Riding a lot so i again I've been riding. These for about three months mostly on the trainer i do sweat a lot, and they. Have held up great the sometimes what. I'll do or usually what I'll do is I'll put a little insert after riding since i. Ant sweat a lot and this one is by a. Company called stuff it's calm i don't. Believe the company is around anymore but you can't find these inserts on amazon so maybe whoever bought the. Company still sells the inserts so I'll. Just throw those in thereafter doing a. Ride and it keeps them from smelling it also dries out the shoe the shoes. Themselves have a carbon plate and so. It's super stiff so if you're a climber. Or anything like that and you really are wanting a platform that doesn't give. These are awesome so. With pearl azumi they've sort of gone now switched out of doing running stuff, and they've gone full tilt into cycling. They just came out with a mountain bike cycling apparel line so expect to see a. Lot from pearl azumi in the coming years. I've never had really any issues with. Pearl zoomy I've always liked their. Stuff i especially like their winter line they seem to have really good. Clothing arm warmers leg warmers knee. Warmers things like that i should be getting in some probably. Some mountain bike apparel so I'll. Probably be reviewing that and also maybe some road apparel so but as far as. I know i don't know if they're working on any other road shoes at the moment this one is just the bomb in my opinion. If you like the pro liter 3 you're gonna. Really like this shoe lastly please. Subscribe and check out the website gear. Mashers comm i have a lot of reviews i. Think i already have a review up on this particular shoe and as i get more. Roaches in for 2018 I'll be having. Reviews of those as well.

Northwave Sonic 2 Plus Cycling Shoe - Men's

Packing Northwave's SLW2 closure system, the Men's Sonic 2 Plus Cycling Shoe wraps your foot like a glove with its micro-adjustable dial and nifty release mechanism that are extremely quick and intuitive to operate, even while you're pedaling. This adjustment system evenly distributes pressure with lacing guides, so you're not plagued with pressure points that make your feet scream in pain. Not only does it allow for precise tightening inputs like other dials on the market, but it features a handy release tab that opens the entire shoe in one lifting motion and loosens it in tiny increments with the downward push of a button, in case you over tighten it.

Besides its ingenious closure system, the Sonic 2 Plus Cycling Shoe uses NorthWave's Thermowelded Layer Construction process, which seamlessly welds a lightweight microfiber to large mesh vents that disperse heat as you start to sweat on brutal climbs and strenuous sprints. You'll find this construction not only keeps your feet pleasantly dry and cool, but it masterfully conforms to the shape of your foot without bunching and creating pinch points. For even greater foot retention, Northwave's integrated heel system sucks your heel in place to maximize power transfer and reduce the rubbing that only leads to irritation.

Seeing it's designed for discerning roadies, the Sonic 2 Plus Cycling Shoe comes with an NRG Air Carbon Reinforced sole that lays down serious power when speed and efficiency are paramount. The sole is ventilated in multiple areas to disperse excess heat inside the shoe and accommodates both standard 3-bolt road and SPD-style cleats (cleat plate is not included for SPD cleats). SPD compatibility means you can also wear it while training and racing on your cross-country bike.

  • Provides a truly customized, glove-like fit
  • Micro-adjustable SLW2 closure for a foot-wrapping fit
  • Hook-and-loop strap reduces foot movement inside shoe
  • Thermowelded Layer upper seamlessly wraps your feet

  • Hello I'm christopher jones from bicycles network australia and in this episode we're looking at two north waves. Road cycling shoes the first shoe is the. Sonic 2 plus which i have here in my. Hand on the first look we can see that it's kind of covered with a mesh on the. Outside so it is a breathable shoe because if i look closely in between i can see a lot of holes and gaps now. That's going to help keep my foot nice for cool look at the fastening system. I've got velcro theto and then I've got the sl w which is the speed lace wind so. A nice little dial to tighten the shoe i. Can then back it off using this little metal tab i press down actually press. Down and it will back off the laces step-by-step now if i pull back completely then it i could actually. Release entire lacing pull on here and it completely dials out so this is a very. Very comfortable system especially what a sight and i just need to back it off just a little bit if the shoe feels a little tight we'll have a look at the sole it's a compass a sole with fiberglass and carbon that means that we. Have a relatively lightweight shoe quiet. Stiff but it also keeps a price down compared to a full carbon shoe so it's a. Nice mix there to keep it on the affordable side on the base I've got a. Molded heel and toe at the top and my. Standard fittings for shimano spd sl and. The likes of just speed play etc let's. Look at the next shoe the next shoe is. Called the evolution plus also from north way of another black shoe but the immediate difference i notice is that the upper is a complete leather upper. And they call it a bio dynamic fit which. Means it they're saying with this design. And the way they computer control and. Design is I'm going to get a much better fit for my entire shoe which is going to. Then equate into performance looking at. This shoe I've got two of these slw this. Be nice one too, and they have exactly the same function with the step in and then pulling back I've also got the little. Tab so if i want to pull the laces all. The way back in fact they are all the way back but then if i pull all the way. Back and then i can completely release the laces so it doesn't have any. Velcro or other fasting system look it has nice detail such a little italian. Flag which i appreciate nice attention to detail just to make me smile and moving to the bottom this is a. Closer to a carbon fiber so it's more of. A it's also a composite style but. It is and not a full carbon but closer to that and i can actually see some of the the pattern of the carbon fiber within the base now one of the features i do like of this too compared to the. Sonic 2 plus is that i have from screwing for the heel for the toe i. Don't but what it means that if I'm walking around i can i know where this down means i had the ability to just. Simply replace that part without having to think about replacing the entire shoe just like the other shoe of water got some air vents on the bottom and this. Also comes with an adapter for speed. Speed play pedals which means i can actually reduce the profile and also the. Weight of the speed plate adapter down by using this so yeah these are two north way of cycling shoes I'm going to. Take one pair and give it a bit of long-term test and as you see how it performs I've been riding north wave. Shoes for quite some time been very happy with the style and the performance these shoes features some up the updated. Type of bow or speed lace winch system. Which I'm looking forward to just see how that performs I'm going to assume it's a little easier I'm also interested. To see how well it fits my shoe i have a. Wider foot is it comfortable for me or. Do i need to go for a more compliant shoe so stay tuned to our bna videos if. You subscribe then you'll be informed. When we have new videos and i look forward to seeing you next time. You.

    Shimano SH-AM5 Cycling Shoe - Men's

While the debate over platform pedals versus clipless continues to rage on, you can't really argue the benefits of improved pedaling efficiency when it comes to being clipped in. Sidi Dominator 7 SR Mega Cycling Shoe - Men's

Sidi's Dominator line of shoes have proven themselves to be worthy companions for everything from navigating backcountry singletrack to grinding out miles on gravel roads or hopping barriers at your local cross race. The Dominator 7 SR Mega Mountain Bike Shoe retains that versatility, as well as Sidi's renowned fit and quality, but features a redesigned sole as well as a new Stealth Black color scheme that omits flashy colors in favor of a more subdued style. This particular shoe is the Mega version, which is 4mm wider across the ball of the foot and has more volume, a higher instep, and a wider heel cup in order to accommodate cyclists with larger feet.

Sidi reports that the new MTB RS17 sole is lighter and better performing, constructed of a stiff nylon composite that efficiently puts power to the pedals. The tread inserts provide grip on a variety of surfaces and also facilitate mud dispersion. If you need some extra traction in particularly sloppy conditions, the sole is compatible with toe spikes. For those times when you miss a clip-in, the central insert works as a traction pad to help prevent slipping a pedal. Perhaps the most exciting update to the sole is that the toe insert is now replaceable via screws. Considering this area is subjected to more wear, especially when walking, this is a simple and inexpensive way to prolong the life of these already durable shoes.

The uppers are made of a composite microfiber Sidi calls Microfibra Microtech. These incredibly fine fibers act like a natural leather skin, but have advantages of increased strength, soft texture, and light weight. Being water-repellent, quick-drying, breathable, and permeable to water vapor, it's an ideal material for shoe uppers, and easier to clean than leather. Additionally, this material is resistant to stretching and deterioration from atmospheric agents. And to keep your feet from getting too warm, mesh inserts were added throughout the uppers. To cap it all off, the manufacturing process is environmentally friendly, using only water-based products instead of solvents.

The retention system is built around Sidi's signature Caliper Buckle, a two-way ratchet that lets you micro-adjust the strap pressure in order to ensure that the fit of your upper won't be too loose or too tight. It's paired with the Soft Instep 2 Closure strap that evenly spreads the upward-stroke pedaling forces across the top of your foot. The buckle provides four-clicks per uptake along with half-click releases. Essentially, this means that you're able to precisely tension the pressure of the strap. No other system provides more of a gentle and precise customizable fit. You also get the precision of two High Security hook-and-loop straps for volume adjustability. Its padded tongue with fit "relievers" is one final small detail that helps deliver unparalleled comfort.

  • Updated Sidi Dominator for MTB, gravel, and cross
  • Higher volume Mega last fits cyclists with larger feet
  • Redesigned sole saves weight and improves power transfer
  • Toe inserts are now replaceable to extend the life of the soles
  • Proven Caliper Buckle lets you precisely adjust strap pressure
  • Soft closure strap applies even tension across the foot
  • Durable microfiber uppers resist stretching and abrasion
  • Reinforced heel maintains optimal foot position and prevents shoe deformation

  • Ok ladies and gentlemen welcome to the show and you can see i got another product here for you to review so i have. Some cd shoes all right here these are. The cd nominator sevens so if you look. On the si website you have the nominator sevens and then you have another shoe. That's just like this but for the road. Side let me see here we're gonna bring. That up real quick look at it so you. Have the nominator sevens and then you. Have the genius 7 so nominator sevens. Genius ooh so both 7 have in the name. Both are constructed pretty much the same except for the soul is what's. Different in fact they both look the. Some they both feel the same the uppers both very both of them have extremely. Broken feel to them seedy used to make. These with leather but they've since. Gone to since gone to a synthetic a lot. Of the vegans out there that absolutely while these shoes because they're i don't say they're a budget. They're still very expensive shoe but. Compared to other seedy shoes that run. You upwards of $500 these are their more. Budget orientated shoes okay and these. Are what all the cyclotrons guys are. Wearing just because of how light. They are and how breathable are they are so I'm going to go over some of the features on these guys and talk about them so at first glance these are they. Almost look kind of like on i want to. Say a knockoff because cdr known for a couple different. Things they're known for the piece. On the heel that pinches in the heel they're known for their special boa. Dials and things like that but before they are doing that cd started off they were using crow, and they were using these normal ready to ratchet straps these ratchet. Closures okay and that's what they were. Using they just had a slightly different they had they started with the micro release it's not the kind where. You actually have to pull to release the micro leaves you just click on it once and it pushes up and then you pull this. Here hold a now the other nice thing. About it they have this in step because. Cd doesn't make super ridiculously. Expensive insoles they don't really. Feel the insults have to be crazy expensive, and they make because these. Are so plush what they do is they make it so that this piece here pulls and gives you pull up gives you more of an. Instep you're not really whole point of a cycling shoe is not to be running with them is to give stiffness here in the. Foot area for pedaling efficiency okay. So because these are a cyclotrons shoe there's their lightweight they don't. Put emphasis on replaceable lugs but. These lugs are extremely hard. In fact, they're they're like five times. Harder than your standard mountain bike logs, and they're closer to that of like. A soccer cleat and when you look at some. Of the prices of soccer cleats these are actually you know about the same so the. Nice thing is with your cd you're gonna get your this ratchet by the way. Everything is replaceable pretty much with these you can buy new of. This these straps this buckle here this. Whole buckle is replaceable you pop it. Out and then of course even the velcro i. Think you can come by and have it stitched back on so i think even the velcro but this this velcros this is what they call their high-security velcro so these red pieces here stick here and it prevents the velcro from wearing down if they use a slightly different type of velcro from lawdy or your other stuff cd by the. Way has pioneered and pioneering cycling. Shoes since the beginning their first company ever use velcro on us shoo so cycling shoes so pretty. Ingenious actually first once that buckles first once created bow a dial a dialing type cable system so, so they've. They've kind of been pioneering the thing the other thing is to that they have is they have this very stiff heel cup and so even though it's its not a. Bathtubs type skull you get this on even though it doesn't have a the adjustable. Clamp back here for the heel your. Heel fits as you can see this heel cups it's really extreme and your heel. Fits in the back here and really locks. Into place and then this type of system. Here really pulls in the foot to keep it. Back into your heel cup so your heel cup unlike a lot of other shoes is very stiff it's a big solid heavy police plastic that they put on their this hole. In so the whole shoe is made of this very soft material the entire in main. Part of the shoe even the insides everything let me open this up titanium. This metal here is titanium really high. Quality materials you got some padding here they put these. Little slits here so you can cut these as you want to they're all together when. You buy them and then it says in the when you have with the directions it. Says to find have this at the center. Point and they've cut these so that bends separately and conforms your to. Your foot so really nice the way they set it up as you can see unlike your. Your other most of your other shoes. They're very soft and very supple even. Though these aren't the road shoe they. Are extremely stiff these bottoms are extremely stiff they're extremely stiff sole this is the. Same material and this is a ballistic. Nylon that's used to make synthetic gun. Handles and then also your you're not the souls. But it's its used to make the bottoms for skates so ice skates and that. Really for the hockey skates that the. Ballistic nylon that they use that's the same material that city uses to make the. Soles for these particular set of mountain bikes now once you start getting it to higher and ones you then you're gonna get a carbon fiber of course you do have carbon fiber injected. On your genius sevens but the. Interesting thing is that carbon fiber this or is this ballistic nylon is. Just as stiff and just as hard as that. Carbon fiber is the injection ejected. Carbon fiber for the city geniuses okay. So don't be fooled that this isn't carbon fiber salt they are extremely stiff okay. So the reason i went with these is. Because on so you can see up there zoom. In for my content i went with the crank. Brother the crank butter egg beater. Threes absolutely loving those the. Reason why i went with them is because the shoes i had here or mountain bike shoes check out my shimano i was right. There and so i don't want to i want to. Reuse them but i want a little bit better see you a little bit more comfortable shoe so i ended up bone with these, and they had these out here had. Then on sale end up getting them for about 50 60 bucks off got military. Discount on their i was able too as well. From former forms bicycle i was able to. Also use my performance awards card that. I got so i had some money on their. Resume but he's for store credit so i got together i got these for a less than 200 bucks, so we're really happy about that so absolutely great shoe like i said. These aren't cheap but if you look. At a price of standard cd shoe which is about $500. These are their budget entry-level. Shoes okay but when you look at. Cyclotrons the guys are wearing these. Over their higher-end shoes because they want something that's a really hard bottom that doesn't wear really quickly and it's just i would say it's for. Then it's a little bit more comfortable also the other thing is its the only set of shoes that have this pad in the. Center here so that if you were to slip off and you'd hit right here and want it. Scratch up the sole okay so it's kind of nice little touch they got this okay. And then it's just an insert so really. Great shoe so far loving it absolutely loving these like i said the nice thing is city's shoes last forever they really. Really do they're paid $200 for these. But you probably get 20 years out of these shoes so, and they won't go out of style that's the cool thing about these people have them forever, and they really use them so well you guys enjoyed this video if you did give us a thumbs up. Click up here to subscribe if you look. Over here i got another video i have a. Video for one of my previous videos and. You click on that and see some other shoe videos there so hopefully you guys.
