A correctly chosen pair of snowboard boots can be the deciding point between an exciting day on the hill or a disappointing experience.
A perfect fit for a pair of boots should be a tight, stable fit over the top of your foot and around your upper ankle. They must allow comfortable range of motion without pressure points but it's ok if they will resist when you lean forward. The heel cup of the boot must hold your heel tightly and toe box must have some room inside. Keep in mind that a proper pair of snowboarding socks can define your comfort while trying on boots and riding.

Its kind of you know your do everything boots somebody that likes to ride the whole mountain maybe someone that goes up every weekend or something there rides a lot. It's a really good medium flex all-terrain freestyle snowboard boot.
This thing here is packed full of features. Some of the ones I've explained to you today are we got the outsole contra grip here so this is a premium outsole really grippy really. Lasts a long time and then it has the EVA foam in between just a reduced weight keep the boob nice and soft there in the outsole.
This also has a premium. Two zone lacing system from Salomon so. You've got this one here on the outside that's gonna do up your whole bottom zone and then you've got this here on the top that'll do up your top zone the Sherlock system just really making it so that you can customize your you know your fitter your boot the way that you like to have it so that's that's the awesome shall here for this solid snowboard boot, and then we got the liner which is also a premium Sherlock lacing system here on the liner which is really good, really holds your foot in there well.
Something cool about Salomon that I like that's pretty unique if they do what's called the cat's tongue here on the inside so really premium heel hold. There so you don't get any heel slip, and then they have what's a what's called a cat's tongue where it almost has a material that goes you know it can go down and then it catches as you go up so it really locks your heels down in there this is an amazing boot like i said.
I'd recommend this boot any riders that you know like to read the whole mountain it's a really good freestyle boot for those of you electro in part but it also has a nice response for you know. Charging big mountain lines and kind of doing whatever you like to do on the mountain on Salomon scale it is rated a 6 out of a 10 which was kind of that mid flex boot really high in an amazing. It's available here at my low score in salt lake city and also available on our website at.

SnoPlanks Asym Fish Snowboard - Men's
Based out of Oregon, SnoPlanks have been making quite the name for themselves in the board-building world lately, and the Asym Fish Snowboard is an excellent example of why that may be. With a design inspired by surfboard shapers, the Asym Fish uses a medium flex and huge rockered nose and swallowtail to plane over and surf through the deepest pow.
Beyond surfability, the unique outline utilizes varying edge lengths and sidecuts to assist in turn initiations and hold. On the toe side, the longer edge towards the tail and nose give more edgehold on long drawn-out bottom turns, which puts more force and speed into your heelside turns without any effort thanks to the deeper sidecut and shorter contact points. Essentially, all of that means that while this board truly thrives on deep powder days, the fun shape allows for aggressive bottom turns and powerful pop off side hits and windlips when there hasn't been much new snow lately. A large rockered nose plows over thigh-deep snow without skipping a beat, while the medium flex, poppy core, and sintered base keep you charging with confidence over choppy or hardpack conditions.

- Large, rockered nose with swallowtail surfs through deep snow;
- Medium flex keeps the feel lively underfoot;
- Carbon and bamboo core offers powerful response;
- Sintered base maintains high speeds through slow conditions;

In this video, we're gonna talk about the ventures Zelix. Their quiver of one board. If you will from their lineup it's got a slight setback and a slight taper to it. But not enough that it's overwhelming or you're drastically gonna notice this is a board that you go from the peak to the park although I really wouldn't recommend going in the park of this board and everything in between this is a board that is their quiver of one, and they cater more to a niche market they cater to that guide that's going to be out there chase and pow that one that's you know weekend warrior trying to get in as many laps as they can.
The person that's just out there regardless of conditions and that's where the zeal extends its that board for that guy that can only have one board, but they have more of a focus on freeride or putter chasing this board features ventures. Straight-line rocker which is a flat in. The rocker so outside the insert packs there's a mellow rocker in. The tip and the tail which gives this board stability underfoot better floating pout and easier turn initiation. Seelix comes in with just above. Middle-of-the-road all-mountain freestyle flex to it you've. Got play in the tips and you've got a decent amount of torsional flex by-and-large this board is very stable especially underfoot there's a little bit of chatter and the tip in the tail but it doesn't resonate back underfoot.
This is due in part to the rocker profile it's a slightly stiffer than middle-of-the-road all mountain freestyle flex that's stable the sweet spot that's in the tail is minuscule and. I mean minuscule you've got to know where it is to properly engage it but. When you do this board will lock into a. Butter it will lock into a press you can. Play around with it that if you don't. It's gonna be really soggy and you're not gonna like it's just how it is. The one thing I really liked about this board was how well it laid a trench when. I was driving it through a carve this is a board that just is super quick to engage super snappy and you can drive aggressively or be laid back on it does what you needed to do.
It's very damp underfoot you don't get bucked around you don't notice any chatter on edge it plows through everything with ease this. Is a board for the resort rider that's searching out pow and taking freestyle to it someone that's sending it off a cliff dropping off a cornice is buttering. And deep fresh snow someone that's really out there just pushing it to the. Limit and going for it.
It's one of those boards for the guy that's transitioning from being a park rider to a powder rider someone that just wants to go out and spin into fresh snow. So what other boards are out there like the see lix from venture let's take a look the ride timeless the rome saw tooth. The arbor sin hombre, the Capita Navigator, the Endeavor Maverick. Hello I'm Matt Guff from House com. And this is a 2000 1832 Zephyr Jones. Snowboard boot. This is Jeremy Jones is come like in resort and in bounds boot that he likes riding with his kids. It's an all-mountain boot. The Zephyr also comes in a regular Zephyr that doesn't have the lace gator and you could ride these basically anywhere. If you want to take them in the park you probably could but I consider this to be a little bit softer of an all-mountain. Just kind of cruising boot for beginner to advanced level rider.
Sure, Jeremy Jones is one of the most epic big mountain riders in the world but if you want a comfortable soft boot with traditional laces and you're a beginner you could you can definitely ride this thing it does feature traditional laces down the front and. It's part of the team fit collection so there's gonna be a little bit more performance in this than you would you find in the comfort fit collection but overall that's a feeling flex rating of a for a little bit softer than your average boot and that has a lot to do with get a limited amount of access panels on the lateral medial side of the upper section with shell and articulation that means that this upper section actually gonna flex independently of the lower zone because there are these little zones so there's less material pinching directly underneath your ankle strap.
Another cool part about but does that for Jones is that well there's this lace gear. There's like this abrasion resistant style material that covers those laces, so they don't get iced up. There's a little boot gator or a pant gator loop there so you. Can connect that to your pants which is actually really nice too and then basically kind of throughout is this abrasion resistant material on this lower section so if you're in and out of your bindings a lot you're not you're gonna get a lot less wear and tear from your bindings new boots rubbing against each other there's a 3d molded tongue even flexing tongue so when you over-the-top your toeside edge you're not gonna get like these weird kinks in the flex and then of course is this. Outsold this is a sti evolution outsole.
I'm kind of surprised that they you know 30 to put the evolution also a foam sold. On this one it's a super lightweight which i absolutely love it absorbs tons. Of impact in shock but it does wear out a little bit faster than what you find in regular rubber that happens to get boots a lot of you know like it makes me heavier but if you. Want your boots and be ultra lightweight you have a good amount of board feel you put this on and that's what the jones zephyr has one thing that 32 is well known for is their liners this is a dual density intuition foam liner it's. Custom heat moldable but your body heat can activate it to you if you don't have access to a custom heat moldable liner this is a team fit liner another cool. Part about is that the upper sections of both the liner and the shell are a little bit softer so you don't get that high back or boot bite when you're on that heel side edge it just adds a little bit more comfort to the ride.
The liner does feature a heel hold kit on both the lateral and medial side there's actually sections of the liner around her ankles where you can add in different thicknesses of these he'll hold kits each boot comes with these and. This one's five-millimeter sick this one's three millimeters thick so if you have odd shape anko's if you have ankle problems or issues and you want better heel hold you just slide one of those babies into that little pocket one. Of our team riders Kyle Kennedy puts the heel hold kits in his. Only his right ankle because he has a right ankle problem but overall. This is a really nice liner it does have upper support panels on both the lateral media side too so a little bit more supportive but overall the flex over the top of that toeside edge on this effort is gonna be just a little bit softer this thing also features this is a. Teen footbed it's a dual density there's a 3d molded can nae arch support moisture-wicking style top.
It's just a big actually a pretty big step up from the standard evm older that you find in the comfort fit from 32 this is a rad boot you know if you're a dad or a guy who. Just likes cruising around in bounds maybe dips to the trees a little bit below its something that has a little bit softer reflects with a traditional ace this is some really good mom that's are the 32 is that for Jones came up one. Of the pro model boots that Jones has from 32 that you can check out at the house comm by selecting the link below in the description leave a comment or a question let me know what do you think of this thing here i think it looks good you know this is a nice sort of colorway to subscribe to the channel there check out more vince air, and we all see on stone.

In this video, we're gonna talk about the United Shapes pioneer part of their explorer line of boards. It's a 156 and it's one of those boards that's versatile enough to ride the whole mountain. Whether you're going in the park or your chased and pout and believe me I chased pow on this thing. Overall it's fun. It's forgiving, it's not gonna kill you and you can ride it just about anywhere.
This board does have like a setback camber to it but it's more like a camber 2.0 and you actually look at the profile of it instead of just having it arcs it like kind of comes up flattens comes down hits that rocker. In the nose so when you do load it up. You get pop and snap but it's very easy to engage it doesn't fight you and this. Board just wants to pop off anything in its path overall the pioneer comes in with one of. Those middle of the road flexes you got play in the tips you got a lot of torsional flex to it yet it's still stable it's very lively.
It's a board that you can go up and go fast with and not worry about the chatter. But you can still play butter when you need to overall it's playful that's what you need to know about this board alright so. This board has cambered and that means it's gonna pop you do have to load it up and when you do it snaps this board can. Handle jumps that's all you need to know you look at the shape on this thing and you think it's a powder board it's not you can go out you can hit jumps and yet. Don't have to worry about it the tips of this board are super playful and you can really get your weight out. Over them and just press into it that knows what that setback in that rocker is amazing you can pop 180 lock it in hold.
It snaps right back out and continue. On your way this board swivels and sizzles when you want to butter with it. And if you want a jib fuck it go jib. With it i did i know you will so that's all you need to know you want to get sideways that camber profile is gonna hug the rail you wanna nose your tail press go for it. Don't worry about it the side cut on. This board is quick and nimble it engages its edge hold and it stays locked in and it drives all the way. Through the car this is a board that when you see where you want to go and you get it on edge forget it's on autopilot.
It's just gonna cruise right over there and do what you needed to do. This is a board that it fucking rocks at. Carbon that's all you need to know about it I'd recommend this board for anyone. That wants to buck the conventions of normality and ride something different. Go out slash have fun spray just play. Around on the whole mouth it's great that's that's really who this is for so what boards are comparable to the Explorer from United Shapes.

Hi everyone! My name is Hunter. We're here at the K2 boots and this is the Taro to my snow surfer. This boot is the culmination of more than two years of work. A couple trips to japan which was really fun for us in our developers but working hand-in-hand with Taro to by the snow surf and snowboard legend from Japan from Hokkaido a little town called Masako where he hand makes his own snowboards. He goes all around the Backcountry snowboarding fly-fishing and just kind of living the dream that we all kind of aspire to and look as he's sort of master of snowboarding. And that clean fluid surfy style that is coming into popularity in the rest of the world.
So two years ago we struck a partnership with him to develop a boot that would perform the way. He'd always envisioned and to complement the boards that he makes himself. So this is the Snowsurfer. Some of the key technologies are really deep articulated. Cuff in these neoprene areas because the. Surfy style is really about knee angulation and mobility so wanted 360. Degree in mobility but still retain your heel and your ankle and have a nice comfortable waterproof fit at the bottom, so we've got a gusseted lower i stay for. Waterproof is a space heater liner which. Is new and featured on some of our other boots.
It's a silver metallic material that reflects heat back at your foot just stay warm and also heavy asymmetry. To the point where we call this a directional flex. This boot flexes a lot more to the inside than the outside so that you can really drive your knee in and get that angulation whether you're on a groomer and carving really hard or you're you're blasting through powder.
Correct knee position is super important to a nice clean flowing style and correct force direction into your board so Taro is really happy with it we're really happy with it. As well we've been playing with these final revision samples for the last few months and just can't believe how much it opens and you're riding their boots shouldn't hold you back they should let you do what you want move freely some a lot of. Our freestyle guys love them too because you can tweak and poke and really reach out on your board and butter in new ways so the snow surfer is an amazing project that we're super excited to launch an essay a this year, and we. Look forward to working more with taro and making more radical stuff and. Having a reason to go to Japan every year so thanks for listening taro to my snow surfer subscribe. Subscribe and subscribe seriously right. Now, what are you waiting for?

What's up, guys? Kevin here from Snowboard pro camp and in this video I'm reviewing the 2017 Burton Ion snowboard boot. The Ion is one of Britain's most popular boots for a good reason. The reason that I picked up this boot is first in the store trying this boot on I really noticed that it held my heel in place very well which is really going to turn into performance on the mountain. The more heel hold. You have the more that will transfer into your snowboard whether your beginner or advanced so that was the first thing that really captured my attention then taking this boot up onto the mountain.
The thing I know is performance. Wise is that there I could really feel my snowboard performing under my feet so the sole of. This boot is got some cushion to relieve some of the impacts but it's also thin enough so that you can really feel your board performing under your feet comfort wise. This boot was very comfortable to ride the liner is designed to keep your feet warm and dry at the same time so. Keeping the warmth in but then breathe the bowls to release the moisture so you don't your feet aren't getting wet.
The ion is also very convenient and quick to get in and out of because of the lacing system. It's got the speed zone lacing so you can tighten it up in a few seconds. The one issue with that is I've had two laces break but there's a lifetime warranty on the laces so both times my laces broke I took it into the shop and they replace the laces that day. So some good and bad there one thing that sometimes overlooked on snowboard boots is that the soul on this one and it's got some hard rubber grips which is great if you're doing any kind of climbing or hiking in your snowboard boots.
There were a few times last winter where I had to do some short and steep hikes on some slippery surfaces and this kept me from you know slipping and. Sliding down the mountain so that was really great the profile this boot is also designed to be a bit smaller. Then your boot size so if you have say size 11 or 12 feet it's going to help. You to minimize the amount of toe or. Heel drag because the profile of the boot is designed to be a bit smaller than your shoe size the flex on the ion is an 8. Out of 10 which is good for all-mountain. It's really going to be good for carving and getting performance out of your turns but I also found that this was soft enough for the terrain park so if we're doing butters and tricks I really felt like it was still soft enough that I could get my body into position before doing those butters or tricks.
So great all-around boot and comfort performance and feel. I really recommend this boot if you want to check it out. I'll put a link to it down in the description if you own the Burton Ion it'd be great to hear from you in the comments what are some of the pros and cons that you think or if you have a different boot you can tell us what you think of it and why you'd recommend that boot I'll put a link to the snowboard gear playlist if you want to get more reviews and gear tips thanks for watching guys and I'll see you in the next video soon

Yo! Matt Guff here for the House Snowboard Shop. This is the Burton Chopper who needs a pizza woods where you can have the whole pie and you can have the whole pie with this thing because you can master balance and control with this snowboard. It's part of the double chair package and has the easy rider convex bend shape.
That's right, it's convex on the bottom that I just actually lift up off the snow so if you're a router looking to get a little bit better or learn how to snowboard this is going to be a great entry-level snowboard into the sport of snowboarding. The duty cube shape is going to be playful and fun. You can ride both directions but the board has a twin shape and twin flex as well. Other spots raining or the feel rating is of one it's gonna be the softest board or one. Of the stops of sports and the Burton youth board line. Now, the difference in wood core is go to fly core eventually forced into from rail to rail in the. Sizes 110 to 130 but in the size of 80. To 100 there is the unreal synthetic core now these cores are wrapped in by Axe fiberglass that one in two to the directions at 90 degrees and at zero degrees of ix5 degrees is going to allow a junior lightweight rider then to flex in the board with a lot of ease.
The extruded base shows a lot of color pop, as you can see, and it's gonna be low maintenance. You're not gonna have to wax this thing all the time you won't have to bring it to the shop to get it maintained because this thing is gonna be durable it can be fast all season long the round the top sidewalls. I'm gonna be durable, or they're gonna be you're gonna have no problems with them basically the cool grab at the slimy little monster graphic was done by a guy named Matthew skip this is the burton. Chopper you can do anything with this board at the entry level you can learn. To master snowboarding with this check. It out burton chowder. You.

Hey! I'm Harry from Deeluxe. I'm in charge of the development at Deeluxe and I go show you the new backcountry line for next season. I start with the Explorer. It's the model that's new to the line. After the feedback from a lot of riders we decided that we want to bring an old working combination that everybody's in love with which is the traditional lacing that's unbeatable.
That's easy to replace and combine it with a boa for the anchor so the Explorer comes in the C3 construction for foot ankle and top are separated. The anchor part can be. laced with the boar system so you can keep it loose by you hike up. You don't lose in comfort and then you close the lace for the weight order.
It also features the ice trek Vibram outsole that's ultra-resistant and got a good trip on ice. We still have the back well so you can use semi-automatic tramp. We have a rubber protection toke app and then the rubber print all around to keep your boot lasting for a long time.
The Explorer comes in different line of setups. We recommend that you go to your shop and mall got a custom fit that will help to be blister free and have a good season so it's the new model in the line - Explorer.
How to choose the best freeride snowboard boots?
Here the factors which define proper boots for freeriding or freestyle snowboard boots:
- Flexibility/stiffness;
Most freeriders prefer stiff or medium-stiff boots. They are marked as 7/10 - 10/10 on a stiffness scale.
- Response;
Freeriding demands the ability to turn sharply at one moment. That's why boot's response is an essential feature.
- Heel hold;
Firm heel hold provides predictability of movement and your safety while riding. Also, it influences the response and can slow it down if your heel isn't held securely.
