Hey guys, Tim with father and son Adventures of AI today we’re at a truck stop for the rest area. Pretty noisy I’m going to use this as bit cooked cook up some pasta sides. Add some chicken breasts in with it. Look at this going I show this stove to you. P51, keep it on my keychain everyday. Carry that’s gonna pick up on the flame, yet see the flame in there with the alcohol stove I like this, because the self-contained we got got a boil on we’re working on that and literally, if only I only lit it, like maybe four or five minutes ago.

So it’s very efficient, it’s a large capacity, but it’s still really small package. All right, we’ve been boiling for about five minutes. I’m gonna put this simmer ring on inside. That slows that down a little bit. Hopefully that’s why I like this as it cooks? That’s got that simmer ring and you can access it just from the side Boylan just near as much.

It’s got a boil for about ten minutes. Alright, guys we’re gonna, add in the chicken here mmm.

Hello, everybody welcome back jiu-jitsu mm here today. I’m back I have an interesting video for you today, I want to talk about the esbit alcohol cookset. Now this thing is written in many languages. I’m gonna go right here to the back and I’m gonna read this English made of extremely light hard, anodized, aluminum, nine hundred and eighty-five milliliters or thirty three ounce pot. Four hundred and seventy milliliters 16 ounce pot, Stan alcohol burner made with brass option to use as bit solid fuel tray for solid fuel is included, stand alcohol burner and tray can be stored in the big pot to save space.

Small pot also serves as a lid pots, with two hinged grips made of stainless steel, big pot with volume indicator in milliliters or ounce of stores in convenient mesh bags. So there is a look at the apparently. This has an alcohol burner with it and it also will accept the esbit fuel cubes. These are 14 grams cubes. They run for approximately 12 minutes, apiece, there’s 12 of them. In this package, you can buy these separately on Amazon they’re, like 12 bucks.

Now, excuse me, like 6 bucks for twelve tablets. So let’s open this up, let’s get our first impression. I’m gonna pull that out. There is only one other thing in the box here. You can see me pulling it out and that my friends is the owner’s manual instruction booklet, which a lot of us probably don’t tend to read but I like looking at pictures. So let’s take a look. So that’s what it looks like.

So they have a pot, a lid which is a small pot. You have a stove stand and then it’ll fit an alcohol stove inside there’s a little bit of directions, multiple languages and there’s another picture of what’s included here. So, let’s see, what’s inside first open this up, you can see that everything is packaged very well. First thing that we see is the small pot which doubles as a lid.

Put this plastic away. Let’s take a look: Wow rivets are nice and solid. This is hard anodized, aluminum, nice rivets, excellent job. You can see that the the pot has a indention on the bottom, in what that’s for is that will correspond to the stove wow, that is nice, and they say that this is also useful as a lid, so I pull out another package, but I want to show the large pot. So there’s nice mesh bags here, let’s take the plastic off here and we’ll look at the larger of the two pots here.

Is the larger pot got the logo written right on the side as bit again, the same kind of quality butterfly handles good. You know and I did a video on the other as fit the smaller one that was, it was 500 milliliters or something like that. It was 16 ounces and it had these same rubber handles on them. On the stainless steel and I thought that it was gonna burn those off when I used it on a conventional stove.

But it didn’t surprise me now. If you look inside, you can see, there’s some beautiful, very nice measurements, that’s really cool! So there’s a look at the pot. I see the measurements from the outside. You got a nice. Pour spout here so you could pour your liquid again. The bottom has the same feature: it’ll nest inside the stove, and it says that this will act as a lid which it does.

You can see it right. There nothing moves everything’s, nice and solid, so they both have the bottom, which is the same size which will correspond to the stove, a small pot I wonder if the large pot would serve as a lid for a small pot I, don’t see why it wouldn’t I, don’t know why you’d want to do that unless you wanted to make an oven out of it or something so, there’s the pots themselves.

Let’s take a look and see what’s in this compartment, let’s look at the stove. So again we have a nice quality stuff sack that everything’s in and it was still about inside this, though you see a nice little alcohol burner with the esbit name on it now, I’m not gonna, be using this exact burner in the test today, I have another one I’m going to be using it’s the a locks. I mean these alcohol burners are pretty much they’re, pretty common.

So I’ll set that aside, that you get a nice quality alcohol burner. This is an a LOX burner. It’s already fueled up ready to go same thing pretty much. So here is the stove and inside the stove. You have this little stand. That’s for the alcohol fuel tablets, hexamine tablets, I, should say alcohol stove. All the way. This little piece right here serves as a solid fuel stand. So you’d set your fault solid fuels on top here and I’m, guessing that this would sit inside something like this.

So probably fish inside, like that and you’d put your solid fuel on top of this and it’ll raise the height to get the solid fuel closer to the bottom of the pan. See that so you get a good a good now, if you flip this baby over and rest it in like this, you can see that you still have an air inlet and your alcohol stove can very easily sit right down inside of there. This is the fuel that I like to use the yellow bottle.

I, don’t use the red bottle, I’ve tried it in the past and it just doesn’t work for me. So I recommend the yellow bottle of heat, another fuel option that works extremely well. It’s just standard denatured alcohol that works good too, so for the test. Today, I’m gonna boil 2 cups of water, so I’m gonna pour 2 cups in here we’re gonna go to about 16 ounces and it’s nice having those graduation markers right there.

That’s about 16, ounces of water and the water that I’m using right now is at room. Temperature I have my timer in the back. Now, let’s go ahead and light that stove up and I’m gonna, let it preheat for a little bit now. These alcohol stoves are pretty much based on the original Trangia. These are great stoves, solid construction. This is like serves as a simmering, so you can turn your flame down to whatever type of flame.

You want, however, much power you want. They also have a lid which has an o-ring that seals against the stove burner. So you don’t lose your fuel, so you can store these in your pack with fuel in them. If you choose to looks like that, stove is ready to go. We will put the pot on them on the stove. I will start that timer and I’ll also put the lid on the top here and what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna talk a little more about these alcohol stoves, while we’re waiting for this to boil so the one that I’m using today again, that’s the a locks they’re pretty much the same thing.

Let’s take a closer look at this brand new one though I just didn’t want to use it. You know when I already have a couple of them. So let’s take a look. It’s got the nice as blunt name on it. So this is like they’re simmering, just like the lids stuck inside the simmer ring bear with me. There we go so there is the simmer ring. So you just open this thing up. However much flame, you want again look at that nice as bit logo, pretty cool simmering we’re a minute in you can undo that and look inside pretty much the same thing as a transia or the airlocks.

These alcohol stoves are pretty much same design, so I’m not really any need to break out the new one. So we’re approaching a minute and a half in the packaging I’ll probably end up giving this to one of my friends or something I have plenty of alcohol stoves, and you know another thing come to mind while I’m thinking about that, and that’s the the fact that if you don’t have an alcohol stove, you can make a soda-can stove set that baby in there and I.

Think you could you know you wouldn’t want to make one this tall you’d want to make one about the same height. That’s what these alcohol stoves are, but I’m sure you could put one of those babies in there or you know, like my Arizona teak, an alcohol stove. These things crank they work good. So those are just some other options that you can think about when it comes to working on these these stoves.

So let’s take a closer look down at that flame down. Underneath I’ll check that out pretty cool two and a half minutes in these alcohol stoves. They put out a lot of heat folks, a lot of people don’t realize how strong they really are. So you can see that the stove is very efficient in how it’s putting its heat against the bottom of the pan. I really like this. This is pretty cool little setup, we’re at three-minute mark, let’s go ahead and take a look and see where our water is.

Are we even close to a boil we’re definitely showing some heat down there, but we’re not closed yet so we’re at the 4-minute mark and things are going well. I like this stove stand because the one of the stove stands that I used to use for my alcohol stoves was one of these guys and they’re kind of efficient. You know you set your stove in there and then your pot sits on top of that and it works.

Okay. I mean I’ve had better options and I. Think this option is a lot nicer, simply based on the fact that the pot sits into the stove, so they’re they’re kind of fitting together I thought that was a pretty cool option. I really like the quality that they put into these pots. I mean the rivets are solid. The butterfly handles are solid. The stove is made out of good material. This is this.

This whole set has a very solid feel to it. It feels like something that you could rely on if you needed to nine minutes in what we looking like yep we’re at rolling boil. Folks, we give you a closer look at that, so it took us nine minutes to reach a very nice boil, that’s pretty cool! If you want to put your flame out, you can just slough it just like that. So that gives you an option to refill or whatever you need to do.

But honestly it didn’t take that much fuel. You can see that the fuel levels still pretty high I’m gonna, try to see if it’ll hold this 10-inch cast iron pan. You know it looks good a little olive oil. Some people choose butter. I, like olive oil, definitely don’t want those eggs, dipping I’m, gonna spam them in the pan. That’s a perfect heat I would put salt and pepper on it, but I just got back from a camping trip, and my salt and pepper is still in my bag.

A little salt and pepper today see how that flame just goes right out under there onto the pan. It even comes out those vents a little bit. That is excellent flame, spread pattern and that stove is holding those eggs very well. You can see that I have plenty of cooking power to it’s. Not you know having a hard time or anything like that. It’s actually cooking these eggs pretty well they’re almost done so.

Who would have thought you know you could cook something nice like this with an alcohol stove, a lot of people don’t know about these. Even my soda can stoves. They perform very well. I really enjoy the alcohol stoves there plenty of power. They get plenty of heat. You know you get plenty of heat out of them: they’re, quiet, they’re, silent, they’re, light cool thing about the fuels.

You can find alcohol on a lot of places. If you use like isopropyl type alcohol get the highest percentage, you can so try to get like the 91% or or higher, if possible, because those lower percentages of alcohol they have a lot of water in them and you’re gonna have a bad suit. On the bottom of your pan, you’re gonna get a lot of soot. It’s gonna be a mess. It’s not gonna be very fun, so those eggs are looking mighty good I.

Just wish I had my salt and pepper with me: let’s throw some cheese on those babies I like a lot of cheese I’m like the cheese, a holic, that’s one of my weaknesses, folks, cheese and although it might sound funny because of the fact that I’m, a Green Bay Packers fan so I’m, literally a cheese head I like how the slough fits right through that gap. So there it is it’s out. I think this was a great product by esbit, very nice product.

So folks, I want to say thank you for joining me on this video today. I hope you had some fun with me. I hope you got some good useful information out of this video. Please feel free to leave your comments down below give this a thumbs up check the description box. If you would because I’ll put a link to where you can find this product in down there and until next time, folks have a beautiful day and thanks again for watching and we’ll talk to you next time.

Hello, everyone- this is a dresser and going to do a review on a product that I just purchased recently. Okay, a few weeks ago, I got a decided to get a new cook set for backpacking and I. After doing some research and Chuck and Ron I decided to get a an FCS 985 a che. It’s a five-piece cook set comes right with a the actual brass alcohol burning, burner, stove and also to anodized aluminum pots.

One way, sir one is a 33 on spot and the other one’s a 15-point 9-ounce. The whole thing weighs about 15 ounces, I, actually paid thirty eight dollars on amazon. For this I just checked on amazon, it’s currently running 4475, so I guess the price fluctuates I, don’t know why it was thirty-eight dollars just two weeks ago, and now it’s gone up.

Nearly seven dollar this cook set comes in a little nut, shot bag, real nice that weight and keep everything right in there. The actual cook set burns either with alcohol stove or you can actually use these espot solid fuel cubes, if you wind, so it uses both. This is the small pot I. Actually have some alcohol already in there comes with this espot2 alcohol stove very similar to the the Trangia stove very similar, what’s nice about the US, but it actually comes with this little lever and make it easier to snuff out your fire when you’re done.

This is the actual stove part. This part is for your fuel cubes. You put it right. On top of, there put your fuel coupon there and then your pot real easy now for this demonstration, I’m not going to use the fuel tubes, so I’ll take this part out, but we are going to what I am going to do is I’m going to cook myself on on a liquid diet.

So today’s lunch is good old, tam polls, cream of chicken with herbs soup, mmm good now to get the alcohol still going. First up, you just take off the the top. This is what you use to put out the stove when you’re done cooking, we’re going to put the stove right in the middle you unscrew, the top and I actually have some alcohol still in there.

Now. What I’m going to do is I’m going to turn off the delight to make, so you can see the flame a little bit better. Ok, I’m, going to light the stove I’m doing that going to get my my soup ready. You see how the the burner burns the alcohol I’m going to show you the pot so I’m going to turn the light back on.

What’s really nice about the the large pot, it’s got. Measurements like I know that my soup is actually about 16 ounces and see it a little bit better on the outside little backwards. But if you’re wondering what kind of fuel I’m using I’m actually just using the nature alcohol, you can pick it up at your walmart.

It’s near the paint, thinner or lowes I think that Walmart’s just under seven dollars and at lowes it’s about seven something well, it looks like it’s pretty well close to being done here did not take that much time at all. What I’m also going to do to make myself some hot cocoa using the other pan, but I had used as a lid and my gsi camping, mug, real nice, very lightweight, highly recommended hot cocoa, real good soup.

Now one thing that the alcohol burner has is the screw on lid really important not to put this on the stove when its toll still hot, because it’s got a rubberized oring here. What’s really nice about this lid cover? Is you can actually store alcohol in your stove? So you have extra alcohol as long as you have the lid on it won’t week looks like the water is done well, I hope you enjoyed the review and the S bit CS 985 a che alcohol cooks at all.

It’s not for me to say is thanks for watching and happy hiking good.

Check out up early this morning to decide to do a little hiking out here in the high mountain desert, I’m starting to get a little hungry. So I got this cool little spot. That I like to go to at least once a year and make me some breakfast using the S bit alcohol stove check it out. This little cool little spot got some little shelter down there in there keep away from the breeze. This is an S pit, five piece cook set.

This is an alcohol stove. It weighs 14 point 7, ounces or 417 grams. It does come with a stuff sack now right off the bat I’m going to tell you if you don’t pack rags around the inside of everything you get this and I just hate rattles when I’m going down the trail, but I do stuff rags around it. Keep everything quiet, take it out of the bag. Here now the lid itself is 470. Milliliter lid, the pot itself is nine hundred and eighty-five milliliter.

It does have stainless steel handles and they’re rubber-coated so that they don’t get hot. It does have measuring device on the on the pot itself now everything’s backwards on the outside. But if you look on the inside and everything is straight forward, so it’s it’s really easy to see inside there to see your measurements. The burner itself is a brass burner. It’s almost a spitting image of the Trangia I mean it’s really close.

The one thing that I do like about this burner. A little bit is a little bit more than the Trangia is it does have a handle on it for the dampener, but I mean it is really close to the transgene you can see. It also comes to wish to stand for the pot to sit on just like so alright s come with this little guy right here now. This is for your solid fuel. I haven’t tried that in this stove yet, but you set that in there you put your solid fuel on that little platform.

So I’m gonna get this thing fired up here and I’m gonna cook me some breakfast burritos. So let me get a set up here and we’ll fire it up. Okay, I’m gonna put some alcohol in it. Actually, I’m gonna use some heat. Now, if you don’t have one of these new alcohol bottles get one because they are sweet. Now, I’m gonna fill this thing up because I’m going to use a lot of fuel not too so much to burn or to boil the water, but I’m gonna boil some more water afterwards, I’ll just set that right down in there.

It’s like so now, I like using my Sparky to light these things. You can use a bit lighter or whatever you want, but this normally works really well. If I can hit it there, we go, you can see it going, but it’s going now I’m going to use this mountain house, it’s a breakfast skillet and I brought some flour tortillas, so I’m gonna make me some breakfast burritos and it’s called for 12 ounces of water and it is measured in there.

12 16, 20, 24 ounces, 12, ounces of water and I’ll put the lid on it. So we’ll let that come to a boil and get this stuff going. Ok, I got a good boil here, so I’m going to take that 12 ounces of water and put it in this breakfast skillet just like so now, I stir it up a little bit now. This needs to sit for about ten minutes, so I’m going to seal it back up and let it sit and, in the meantime, I’m gonna take my little lid here.

I’m gonna put just a little bit of water in it. Not that much then I got some flour, tortillas wrapped up here in tinfoil and I kind of want to heat them up so I’m just gonna. Let that sit on there for about ten minutes. Okay, the mountain house is sat for about ten minutes. I think it’s good to go and the flour tortillas have been steaming on there for about ten minutes. So I think they’re good to go. Oh yeah toasty, so I’m gonna do breakfast burrito looks it smells good Oh, boss, I’m gonna, put a little bit of this on there, some fire Thank You Taco Bell.

We put a little fire on there, perfect, okay, guys I’m gonna eat. Now, there’s some good stuff guys easy to make a couple: flour tortillas! This is a perfect stove for day hikes, it’s nice and small and don’t take much room in your pack. If you’re going up a long ways for a day, hike and I’m gonna make lunch I’ve cooked top ramen in this thing before it works great, but about $45 for this stove you might shop around, get it cheaper, I, don’t know, but there you have it guys.

I’m gonna finish eating my burritos and probably start hiking back thanks for watching.
