Nice and light really warm especially. Considering the weight and consequently I've worn it a lot and had it for about. Six years and someone on the long line not too long ago the zipper pull broke on it not like the little cord piece of. It but the actual metal hinge piece on the zipper portion broke off could i. Still use it yes i could super pain though because you're trying to manipulate this piece without like a handle for it so having spent a fair. Amount of money on that product i was like you know what i wonder if they'll warranty this so reached out send them. An email on January 30th inquiry and say. Hey this is the issue I'm having send a photo everything like that got an email. Back on February 6th with return instructions make sure it's laundered. This and this into here did that send it off got another email February 15th they had received my return following February 26th got an. Email that said they had assessed it and it falls within the warranty they'll. Take care of it cool march 1st got another email said they. Had started repairs on it march 5th said hey we've finished your. Repairs and then march 7th i got about. Four shipping confirmation emails that. Said we're shipping it out i don't know why i got that many but on march 9th i. Also got another email that said hey we. Shipped it should be there and sure. Enough there was on my porch in a box in. This bag i am i will say really stoked. To get this guy back I've been frankly. Missing this jacket because i don't have. Tons and tons of warming layers so not having this one it's kind of drag i have been however curious if they. Literally just replaced a zipper on it. And the way i will know is this thing. Spend a bunch time in Afghanistan with me and consequently there're little tears that ended up getting like. Pretty poorly stitched up from concertina wire or there were actually. Sections in here that were okay yeah it. Kind of worn from um body armor and. Stuff and yeah this looks like my jacket. Pretty stoked and bonus the zipper. Actually works super stoked well. Locked eric's as a brand is admittedly expensive probably like the most expensive brand as far as can in that. Outdoor space i will say i really. Appreciate that their warranty their stuff the fact that you're gonna part with your money for a piece of gear piece of clothing that's gonna admittedly last a really long time but. If something does break on it and it does fall under warranty but them to be pretty quick to say hey we'll go ahead and take care of that get it fixed keep you assess the entire situation as it goes and get it back to you and yeah get. Hi guys grad here in this video I'm going to talk about the architects adam lt this is the lighter weight version of. Their atom jackets they make a sv which has i think a bit more insulation the. Macan af which is really just a more generously sized version of this. Jacket also comes either in non-coated format or foot hooded format this is the. Non hooded on the material the main. Material the our is it feels like a kind. Of a windbreaker material and it is the wind resistant part of the jacket inside. Of this and the torso and in the arms is. Core loft which is a synthetic insulation layer it's been — sort of. Replaced down as a sort of puffy high. Loft insulation on the side of the. Jacket all the way up really to the pits. It has polartec power stretch fleece with. A hard face technology so it's a hard face fleece on the side so it has that rip stop nylon look to it with the grid. Pattern throughout you can see the. Fleece on the inside here it has two. Main pockets here in the front they have zipper poles here the main. Zippers has been noted in other reviews. Unzips very easily like a lot of people. Complain that as they wear it comes unzipped on them, and they don't really care for that aspect of it under normal. Non heavy use which is aughra or put. This throughout and really have an unzip on me but i could easily see how that could happen if you're moving around a lot it has another small zippers on the. Inside here you can see I've added some type of accessory cord I'm just giving something grab a hold of and it. Has that same sort of windbreaker material on the inside. And on this jacket the inside pocket is. Only on the left side there is not one on the right side behind the zipper is. More of the windbreaker technology it's. It has a dwr coating so it's water-resistant but not waterproof. It is more or less winter proof however. It's a very pack able jacket which is why. You probably know this mine has a lot of wrinkles i pull it up and keep it in my. Car along with another adam lt for my. Wife just in case we get stuck somewhere. We needed you know we need insulation. This is not the leaf version but really. The only difference is that on the leaf version this isn't the reflective printed on material here it's the blacked-out on our character logo i just. Want to show the cut on this jacket it's specifically cut to either go over. Another jacket say you have something on that isn't water or in wind resistant. You could layer the adam lt over that. I'm going to put on the bravo jacket just because it has kind of close to body cut already kind of athletic cut. I guess so i will show that you can. Layer the adam lt over that if you need. Something that has need of you are coding for water resistance or you need. Sort of windbreaker layer so layers. Nicely over the bravo but it's as well. Supposed to be cut close enough to the. Body that it can be the insulation layer so if you wanted to layer something over. The adam lt like a hard shell. Our carrick's alpha for this demonstration you can easily layer a. Shell over the atom lt so on this. Configuration and august i am obviously. Going to get very hot very quickly but. It will sort of show that my complaint. With that alpha was well besides the. Gore-tex material was the length you can. See here even atom lt is longer than. Longer than the alpha is in the front or. More or less the same length in the back due to the capital t's bias-cut so. One of my favorite pieces for this winter it's a great mid layer very comfortable very breathable but it also has a look to it that's you know part sweater and part classic comfortable. Hoodie so it's definitely versatile off the mountain as well technically. Speaking this jacket is very light it. Feels very light on and it's definitely comfortable and articulated for great movement as a layer and it is also very. Very breathable so this is I'm made with. A fleece that's polyester and it's backed in a solid fleece so this is going to be nice and breathable very thermally efficient and it's definitely going to work as a mid layer you know between your base layer and your outer layer it's going to add a lot of warmth when you're out there riding and it's also going to maintain the breath ability that you're looking for so that you don't overheat and gets wet building up. It's nice and close to the body but it's still very comfortable and looks great with a pair of jeans or any other casual wear I'm wearing this small which is my normal size it hits me right about at the hips which is perfect I'm 5/8 and i often have trouble with. I'm wearing the patagonia women's torrentshell pants these are a staple. Waterproof breathable pant in patagonia is line the material here is patagonia. Zone h2no performance shell fabric it's. A two and a half layer fabric 50 deniers so you've got durability there but. They're still pretty lightweight they're a hundred percent recycled polyester, and they've got rip stop in that fabric so. You have durability there as well and then you have a durable water repellent coating on the outside so not only is it. A waterproof fabric but you have that water repellent coating there to give some extra durability they are. Breathable so it's gonna let that moist. Warm air escape and it's going to keep. Out the rain so definitely a great barrier who shall here the features are. Really simple, but they're very functional as well you've got a stretchy waistband here at. The top it's just a really nice elastic waistband there's no zipper fly or. Button there at the top, so they're completely full coverage and then you do. Have two hand level pockets here those. Pockets are lined with just a mesh. Fabric so these pockets can actually act. As a vent so you can kind of dump out. That warm heat if you're. Wearing them you can open up those pockets and make them a little bit more breathable so there is kind of storm. Flap in front of that pocket moving down. The pant you do have articulated knees, so they're moved with you and flex with. You there so a small detail but it does make a big difference with this hard. Shall fabric you do have a pretty long. Zipper that goes most of the way up your. Legs so it doesn't go all the way up to the top you're protected there but that zipper is a two-way zipper so if you. Start at the top you can just open that up and vent it a little bit from the top if you need to dump out some extra heat or you can unzip it from the bottom once. You're at camp and you need to kind of take the pants off it makes it really easy to take them off overtop of boots. Over top of your hiking boots or whatever you're wearing there now down at the bottom you have a stretchy elastic hem down at the bottom and. There's a snap there's actually two spots for that snap so you can really cinch it down if you're wearing gaiters over top of them you can cinch that down with that snap and the snap also keeps. That zipper from coming up while you're hiking with it, so they're definitely a. Regular fit I'm wearing a lightweight. Pair of hiking pants underneath of these. And I'm wearing a small right now, and they definitely fit if you're anticipating wearing more layers underneath of the torrentshell pants I'd say maybe go a size up just so that you. Have more flexibility and more room. There underneath of the pant but overall they're very comfortable they're a really great barrier shall from rain and. From wind, they pack down to be pretty. Wear it downtown you can wear it to class you can wear it in the back country and you know that it's going to protect. You're gonna fit in and it's just going to be a really comfortable piece now the features here are simple starting down here on the hem you do. Have an adjustable draw cord that goes. All the way around so you can definitely cinch that down you've got a full length. Zipper here and the interesting thing about the zipper is you have two layers. On the outside of protection so water. Isn't gonna sneak its way in through the zipper and then you also have a storm flap behind the zipper so that's. Definitely gonna protect you there if you've got a lot of rain coming down. You've got two hand level pockets and. These pockets are also protected by a flap this flap here also kind of gives. It a clean look so it doesn't look like a super technical jacket again allowing you to wear it anywhere and then moving. Up you do have a nice collar so because. This is a waterproof piece its wind. Proof as well so if you need to zip it. All the way up comes up to a nice collar. In there to protect you and you've got a pretty big hood it's definitely a helmet compatible hood so you can climb with this piece the hood is nice and big but you can. Adjust it with two points of adjust ability there's one there on the. Back that adjusts the volume of the hood. And then you have another adjustment that comes out here and you can cinch. Down around this area and the thing i. Love about this adjustment is it actually comes out of the outside of the jacket and sometimes on waterproof. Pieces with a big hood i need to cinch it down and then it gets kind of bunchy on the inside, so they pulled that cord out to the outside it's a small feature but it makes a big difference to give a little bit more breath ability you do have underarm vents they're really easy. To get to and the vents are pretty big so that's going to dump out a lot of that excess heat so if you are hiking. Backpacking or if it's simply a warmer day you can unzip both of those and have. A lot of ventilation now the fit of this jacket is spot-on to. What i would expect from patagonia it is a regular fit, so they give you a little bit more room to move plenty of room in. The shoulders and in the back so it's not going to constrict movement I'm wearing a small right now and i normally wear smalls and i can definitely layer. Underneath of it if i need to right now. I have a lightweight t-shirt and a base layer on and i feel like it's really comfortable this is exactly the size that i would get with so overall the. Torrentshell jacket is your do-it-all. Jacket i just like to take a moment to talk about patagonia is most recent initiative to reduce environmental footprint it's called their common threads initiative and features four pillars reduce reuse repair and recycle. Main purpose is to help reduce some of the waste that comes from all these products ending up at landfills or not being properly used to learn more butter headed patagonia comm slash common. Threads well the best way to go through this jacket is probably just to put it on and show you the features as you can. See around the cuffs i got velcro attachments so i can make it tight or loose around my wrists it's got three main pockets I've got a. Top chest pocket up here as well as to. Lower pockets and there's also a. Adjustment around the side so you can tighten and loosen the jackets fit around your waist and of course the. Ubiquitous but zips so that when you get hot you can just unzip them and cool off. This is actually men's extra small what. You can't usually get in this in that size so it's quite nice and how do any offers a very small size for guys like me who aren't quite fit of course comes in a whole range of sizes and colors this is the sharp blue but there's a. Whole range of other colors which off pop off around the screen here there's actually two kinds of jackets you can get one is the torrentshell jacket and. The other one is this which is called the turin shelf stretch pretty obvious. Things i really finds handy if they have this extra abrasion piece on the inside. Around your neck this will help prevent the jacket from delaminating over time if you've ever had a waterproof breathable you'll know that that can happen the two layers will separate this will help prevent that from happening the torn shell is actually using what's. Called their h2 not fabric so obviously this is a waterproof breathable i get a feeling that I'm going to need this quite a bit next in it when I'm cycling in the rain. Purchased and received and i just wanted to kind of do a quick review of it show you what it looks like this is a men's medium and i'm kind of a medium build so. That's what it kind of looks like has this little hood thing going on it'll zip all the way up very protected from. The rain the wind especially you can. Wear it like this as well on the inside. Is white so it's pretty shockingly white tom it also has these arm pit zips to. Let out some of the heat while you're hiking and such what i was going to tell. You about it as the classic wrist size. It has this little pulley in the back of. The hood which i've never really seen before which tightens a string around. The top and literally make it sink right onto your head and this little bill will. Act is the same as a little hat and so. It'll literally like tighten up to where it's just like your eyes and your nose and so um if you're really i mean it looks a little funny but if you're really hurting hurting out there that's. Some to enjoy and this tightens the. Standard circle um let's gonna show you. There's a patagonia also the waist size. Will tighten as well and i'm not sure. The exact make all you need to know is. That is the classic patagonia windbreaker type deal it is a awesome. Jacket and i'll leave a link down below where i. Looking actually for a north face one and i was looking through a bunch from. To stay warm as layers anyway i like these jackets compared to a thick jacket already but you know that's all personal. Preference but anyway so it gets really hot while you're out there right you can literally like just fold this jacket up pretty pretty small chuck it. In the backpack start to raining again pull it back out you know so that was. Another thing i really like about it. It's got a little quoc thing going on. Back here it's pretty nice in the back of the neck super comfortable. I wear it a ton since i've gotten it. I've only had about two weeks now but uh. It's already been in the rain and stuff and it's kept me perfectly dry actually. It's been in the wind more than the rain and some of their well it's got two pockets here both zips i tell you stays. Clean because we need anything gets on it swipe it off i'm scaring i was moving recently and i was carrying a bunch of stuff so i had these like lines on me from leaning stuff against me i took a rag real quick wiped it right off clean again um so yeah check out the link in. Shirt so I've actually had this jacket for a little while now but i wanted to give it a good test out in the field and. Their fur oc collection and I'm wearing the frosty hoodie that is a piece of that collection this is a women's specific piece there's also a man's hoodie as well and i kind of think of. This piece is the jacket that you're going to get to do everything in it is. Soft shell and i just want you to see. That it is extremely thin there is no. Insulation to this whatsoever it's not even backed by fleece you've just got saying that the material they use on this piece is a combination of cordura spandex and nylon and there's a good amount of spandex in it so you're definitely getting some crazy stretch i. Mean to the point where i feel like you could just kind of do somersaults and cartwheels and not be inhibited by this sort of material at all so it's going to be fantastic for anybody who needs a lot of mobility maybe somebody who's doing. Some cross-country skiing and warmer weather somebody who's doing a lot of rock climbing and i think I'm just for general hiking and backpacking to be very comfortable piece to wear under a pack so some basic design features on. How the fro z was put together you can. See the two different colors here and that is kind of setup is. Two different types of fabric the body. Of this piece in the darker color across the back is extremely breathable so if. You're wearing a pack against this you're going to get a lot of moisture. Vapor passing through you're not going to have that same feeling you get under a hard shell where you're wearing a packer just sweating like crazy so you get some excellent breath ability this. Jacket is when resistant it is not windproof so you're going to get some air moving to it but if you're doing an aerobic activity that should be enough to keep your body temperature comfortable and cool especially on a day like today where it's a little chilly out and I've got an extra layer underneath this is kind of perfect piece to wear over top of that just a. Couple of run throughs on some of the general pockets and that sort of thing you do have a full fitted hood so it's. Designed to fit really close to the head i can get up just a cap underneath of it would probably fit under a helmet really well you've got adjustably on the. Sides here so it's a nice video hood you've got a little pocket here on the arm. Which is nice for stowing small things you know like a chopstick or a me the keys to your car and then you do have two zippered hand pockets here on the bottom. You.

All right so I'm a 35 waist and i have. On the 32 of the convertible gorilla cps. From outdoor research this is what they. Look like all right it was like impossible for me to buy these all right. So basically these pants can be purchased one size smaller than what you would normally wear if you wear a 36 you can get the 34 if you wear a 34 you can get the 32 they're stretchy pants and. The waistline is slightly stretchy i found that the waistline on the 36 in the thirty-fourth was very stretching and it had no belt or drawstring and if. You're going convertible adding the belt. Kind of adds unnecessary weight the whole idea is to keep your pants out of. Your pack by having pants that convert into shorts now obviously that's kind of. Nerdy but they call it a gear geek for a. Reason you know if your if when you put your pants in your pack the pack in. The pants add weight and bulk to your pack, and they also get wrecked if you. Keep your pants in your pack the whole entire summer you're carrying around something that adds bulk and weight to your pack and your pack is bigger and heavier than it should be and at the end. Of the summer when you go to get your pants they're wrecked they're full of mildew etc so the idea with convertible. Pants is that you're wearing shorts and you don't have your pants in your pack you know if you carried board shorts and kept your pants in your pack yeah board shorts are awesome but having your pants. And your pack is wrong when you have convertible pants you still are wearing. Your pants you have them on you and you can put your ankles from the convertible pants you know you can stow those with. Your poncho or something else that you don't usually use so when. You buy the pants a size smaller than normal like for instance these are a 32 instead of a 34 i don't need a belt so i. Got rid of the belt and also the side pocket which holds your cell phone that. Has a tendency to hit doorways and furniture as you walk past them because the pants are usually too baggy these pants are not baggy they're very straight legs and that prevents your iphone from hitting stuff as you walk by. Because you know like the little 4-inch iphone se it's probably the best phone to bring traveling but it's very fragile if it. Hits a doorway or a table as you walk by because it's in your cargo pocket it's. Broken more or less i mean it damages the phone and so having the hip pocket that cargo pocket close to the. Leg it prevents the phone from hitting. Stuff as you walk by which is a nice feature now i tried on the 36 furro c's. Which were more like a 40 waist 4 oc pants i tried on the 34 which were more. Like a 37 and i tried on the 30s which i. Couldn't they were too small i as well. Tried the 36 in the pro no stretch sian. Convertible pant which was like a very heavyweight a plastic form of denim it. Was like basically denim blue jeans that. Are very tougher for hunting and bushwhacking, but they were made out of plastic so that they dry quicker than cotton, and they were just too heavy. They're 15 ounces i also tried on the outdoor research convertible pants which. Were uncomfortable they don't stretch at all there are only four and a half ounces, so they're half the weight of the other guys but you lose a lot of comfort. With weight with the mountain sorry I'm. Not sure if i said alpha research or mountain hardwear the mountain hardwear mesa convertible pants they're half the. Weight of all the other convertible pants, but they're not comfortable so if. You were to go 36 if you were to get the. Mountain hardwear 36 mesa convertible. Pants in order to make them more comfortable because they don't stretch you would save a little bit of weight but the truth is that the outdoor research fer oc pants can be bought one. Size smaller so you can wear a 32 if you. Wear a 34 the 32 is actually out. Slightly lighter than the 34 so the. Amount of weight that you shave by using the mountain hardwear convertible pants. You can actually get that by going one size smaller with the furrow sees or something similar and I've been wearing the fro c's for a day or two they're very comfortable and very happy with them they're very form fit you know yeah. They kind of fit kind of like a pair of boxers i mean they're pretty tight pants, but they're very breathable and stretchy and comfortable, and they fit perfect, so they've got plenty of pockets they've got two zippered pockets on the back which is important they've got a zippered cargo pocket they've got two pockets on the front now if you go small with these convertibles you'll notice that the two front pockets are not really easy to get your hands into they're a little form fit it's a little bit tight but definitely usable I'm. Pretty happy with this i am also really interested in the Monticello convertible pants because they come with a belt you know they're only 11 ounces and you can. Pull the belt close so you can get that if the 34 is or the thirty-six's are slightly too big you can pull on that you can cinch the belt, and they come in. Cool colors but you know it's another eighty bucks to spend and I'm pretty happy with the frosty's that I've got. They're their correct color and so i don't know why i would buy another pair of convertible pants when i should be wearing these and just learning how to use the ones that I've got you know i think that these are gonna be my go to and i should just figured that figure.
